Happy Baby happy munchies Broccoli Kale

Happy Baby happy munchies Broccoli KaleBuyer beware! This item is a SINGLE 1.63 oz container. The original price of $28.58 is incredibly misleading. That is normally the price of a lot of six containers, however this item is a single container. You can purchase this at many locations for a quarter the price!!!!!

These are great finger food that is a treat that has ZERO parent guilt attached. Healthy, NOT MADE IN CHINA, no artificial stuff AND...my baby loves, loves, LOVES them.

Sassy First Solid Feeding Bowl with Spoon, Colors May Vary

Sassy First Solid Feeding Bowl with Spoon, Colors May VaryI ordered this bowl and spoon set at the recommendation of a friend that the spoon was great. I could have just ordered the spoons from another website, but I needed a travel bowl like this with separator anyway. I wish I had ordered this sooner!!! The spoon is fantastic!!! It is easier for me to feed my son and easier for him to eat his purees. He is currently 8 months old and this would have been great from 6 months when we started on solids. I highly recommend this product. The bowl is convenient and the spoon has been a lifesaver. The only wish Amazon or the seller would let you choose a color. The image shows a blue bowl and I received a pink one with green top, orange spoon. I have a boy and it would be nice to have a choice between a traditional boy color or girl color.

These work great for preparing the baby food for my 7 month old and throwing in the diaper bag and the food stays separated. Lid stays on tight and my little guy seems to really like the "rubber" feeling of the spoon.

This is a great set. It has two compartments and the spoon is great for baby's gums, however, it is very soft and flexible and can bend easily and spray food every where.

This is the perfect size for my baby, who started to eat cereal. When she progresses to eating fruit/vegetable, the compartments would be used. What really makes this a great bowl is the ergonomic design, where my left thumb easily slides into the handle, and the bowl rests on my palm stably and comfortably.

We bought one of these for our then 6 month old son. We rec'd a blue one with an orange spoon. We loved it immediately!

Pros:

1) Deep sections (2 sections) with rounded bottoms to easily scoop food out

2) The thumb holder is fantastic! I have dropped a few bowls in my time as a Mommy and this one is near impossible to drop thanks to the little loop you place over your thumb.

3) The spoon is flexible silicone and is very tooth-friendly for babies

Cons:

1) The lid doesn't fit on snuggly. Tends to need a lot of pushing to get it to lightly snap on but will come off rather easily (both bowls we own)

2) The color variable is listed as orange, blue, or clear beware there is also a bright pink (which we rec'd the second order of one of these) just a warning for boy/girls coloring (if that even matters to you)

3) The spoon can warp in the dishwasher. Make sure to wash by hand or use a basket in the top rack do not place in the bottom silverware section of your dishwasher or over time it will warp into a super bent position that is impossible to even boil back into shape.

The cons are really small.. honestly. This bowl is fantastic overall just a few minor things to notify you about if it even matters to you. :) Happy feeding!!

green sprouts 3 Count Favorite Food Absorbent Bib

green sprouts 3 Count Favorite Food Absorbent Bib, Muffin, Cereal, Bananas, 6-24 MonthsThese are really large and wash well. We bought some a few months ago and have used them daily and they have washed with no wear(no fading of the fabric or the print). I especially love the stretchy neck instead of the Velcro. Slipping it over our son's head while he's in his high chair is much less frustrating for him and us than trying to fasten in around his neck. I imagine it will be nice down the road once he's figured out how to pull the others off that he won't be able to do the same with these.

really quite cute. I found food toys to go with each one or a book about that type of food.

These are cute, easy to launder, large enough, and best of all, my two-year-old can't rip them off. Definitely worth the money.

Since my daughter did not like the Velcro sticking to other laundry and the fact that our granddaughter would just pull them off, I got these for her. They are great...size is large enough to cover clothes.

Want green sprouts 3 Count Favorite Food Absorbent Bib Discount?

Started using pullover bibs because my 8 month old's hair was getting longer and caught in the velcro used for most bibs. Plus, if he wanted, he could just rip the velcro ones right off. In addition to being super-cute, these bibs have held up great, the lettering has not peeled or frayed and I wash them alot. If eating a bright-colored food, the light blue ones will stain, but that's true of any light-colored cloth bib. Just rinse out right after meal. LOVE them and will definitely buy again.

Nuby Fun Feeding Spoons & Forks 2-Pack

Nuby 4 Pack Spoon and Fork, Colors May VaryMy 15 month old wants to feed herself. We have a set of those long infant spoons by Munchkin, which are great for feeding by an adult. But the handles are so long that a baby is likely to gag themselves when self feeding. So I am in the market for something with a shorter handle. These Nuby utensils have reasonably short, chunky handles which are easy for little hands to grip. The problem is that the handles are really bent (this doesn't show up in the picture at all) so that the handle practically has to touch my little girl's nose in order for her to get everything off the spoon. It works ok if I'm feeding her, but not so great when she's feeding herself. Maybe these will be better at age 2. But for now, I'm looking for something else.

Love love love these utensils! My toddler played with the Sassy Baby Less Mess Toddler Spoon Sassy Baby Less Mess Toddler Spoon 2 Pack, Colors May Varysince he could hold an object in his hand. When he was learning how to eat, this was the go-to spoon because of the perfect-length handle and he could eat pretty much everything but soup and cereal milk.

We've been searching for a similar shape/size spoon with no holes so he could self-feed EVERYTHING now. These spoons are a hard plastic (like a very hard version of adult plastic spoons) with a silicone grip (interspersed with the plastic dots peeking thru). The bowl of the spoon and fork are pretty deep so they can hold plenty of food/liquid for a kid bite but it's still narrow enough to fit fully and comfortably into Munchkin's little mouth. Another plus: the hard plastic does NOT stain (pasta sauce, BBQ sauce, etc). Under the Parent's Choice brand (WalMart), they're $0.63 for each piece! Would give these 10 stars if I could.

Buy Nuby Fun Feeding Spoons & Forks 2-Pack Now

While the designs are cute, the shape of the handle makes it nearly impossibly for a new eater to feed himself. In order to get the food off the spoon, my son has to either flip the spoon upside down or angle the spoon up so that then end of the handle practically touches his forehead. I recently purchased the OXO Tot Fork and Spoon Set, Aqua instead, and these work much better!

I have SO many different kinds of utensils which were all awkward and seemingly useless. And then I found these at Target. They were amazing. But, by the time I realized it, they were out of stock and I couldn't find them online anywhere. I wanted more! So, thanks you for bringing them back!!

I couldn't believe the difference these utensils made. There must be something about the fat handles, the lower level mouth piece, the balance, the grips, the deep mouthpiece that holds the food... I don't know, but there's magic in there somewhere. I had no idea how magical there were until my friends were over for a play date with their toddlers. 1-2yr old. I served spaghetti and they all said I was crazy. Then they saw how well my kids ate with these utensils. So I gave their kids the same ones and amazingly, they ate it with no problem either.

I am so thankful that they brought these utensils back that I bought a lot more packs (just in case, and to use as giftsthey're really that good). Thanks for bringing these back Nuby.

Baby Bullet BBSK-080 8-Piece Storage System

Baby Bullet BBSK-080 8-Piece Storage SystemI just got the storage containers out of the box after receiving them as a gift and put them in the dishwasher to clean before my first use. The tall "to-go-tube" melted in this first wash and came out wonky so now storage cups will not fit in the tube. The storage cups did not appear to melt at all like the tube. We had the 'water heat' setting on for the dishwasher. The box didn't mention that the items shouldn't go in the dishwasher.

I received this product as a gift from my registry, but after my daughter was ready for solids and I started to make my own baby food, I opened up the Baby Bullet products and started reading the instructions. My first issue was that the jars can't go in the dishwasher, microwave or freezer. Okay, I can hand-wash, no big deal. But my second issue is that homemade baby food is only good in the refrigerator for 3 days, so when would I ever need 12 (6 come with the Baby Bullet plus the 6 with this product) jars of pureed food in the fridge? Maybe if I had multiples. What I really needed was extra silicone freezer trays, which incidentally Baby Bullet does not sell, so I had to purchase another product. I do actually like the Baby Bullet system itself, but I find the extra 8-piece storage system a waste.

I purchased the baby bullet when my baby was 4 months old, it came with six storage containers and I believed it would be enough, but I enjoy making her food and she love to eat it (she likes it more than the jared baby food) so now that she eats more and 3 times a day, 6 containers are not enough and that's why I ordered more. I like them because they are good quality, you can put them in the dishwasher, mark the date when you cooked it and the food stays fresh. Love it!!!

The six jars that come with the Baby Bullet system just aren't enough, so these extra jars are incredibly helpful for prepping and storing extra baby food. The carrying case is handy for tossing in a diaper bag when on the go. The jars are sturdy and hold up well with frequent use, including in the freezer and microwave.

Nosefrida The Snotsucker Nasal Aspirator

Nosefrida The Snotsucker Nasal AspiratorThis picture confused me because I thought that the large blue box was part of the Nosefrida. It is the just the case. There is a red mouthpiece, clear tube, blue filter and clear...I'm going to call it the "applicator" that you put up to the baby's nose.

I examined the nosefrida for a long time before trying it out on my four month old. I wanted to make sure that there wasn't anyway for snot to end up in my mouth. 14 hours of labored breathing, the baby's-not mine, I decided to give the Nosefrida a go.

Darn if that little disgusting contraption doesn't work! And I know it works because I could actually see the snot collecting in the tube. Yes, I gagged a little, but baby could breathe! And after all, isn' that what they teach you day 1 in parenthood?

Day 1. Make sure baby can breathe.

I still think you'd have to be pretty close to someone to give this as a baby shower gift. No one wants to think of snot on their happy day.

my wife has tiny nostrils. i can't fit any of my fingers in her nose...it's amazing she can breathe through her nose at all. consequently, our son is also lacking in the nostril-diameter department. he gets boogies...he can't breathe very well...he gets upset. it's been like that since he was born, whenever that was...recently. i forget, but i digress. we came home from the hospital with a pretty decent nose-sucking bulb...it did a reasonably OK job of sucking out boogers...and was reasonably firm and springy. but then our dog ate it. so, i tried to find a replacement. not all bulbs are created equal, i soon found out. some were too hard to squeeze and didn't spring back quickly enough. others were too soft to suck anything out and just sat there, mocking me. i tried at least four different replacement bulbs, none of which were as good as the one from the hospital. we even tried a fancy battery powered nose vacuum that made a whirring sound but produced nary a single lump of green gold. while ordering the various, useless bulbs i also ordered this thing the nosefrida on a whim thinking i was probably wasting $13.

BOY WAS I WRONG.

this thing works. it sucks boogers out of noses. it even stores them in a little tube to eat later. or, you can just wash them out in the sink. anyway...it works better than any of the other things we tried...and we tried pretty much everything. there's a technique to it:

suck in quick short bursts with your mouth muscles first...to loosen things up

then, suck in long hoover-style bursts to get those boogies out

if the boogies get stuck near the surface, try pulling the end of the thing out a little mid-suck a few times

use a tissue or q-tip to get any nose goblins that are loitering anywhere accessible

repeat

if i was a professional booger sucker...and it was my job to suck the snot out of noses 8 hours a day, i would insist on using this thing. but i would want a longer tube, and a holster.

Buy Nosefrida The Snotsucker Nasal Aspirator Now

This nasal aspirator is absolutely amazing. It WORKS. And it is completely non-invasive. My 4 week old newborn caught a cold, and this thing saved me. It cleared her out SO WELL! I had been using a bulb syringe, and she would scream and scream. Plus, the bulb syringe was irritating her nose and causing it to bleed. Once I got the Nosefrida, I was able to suction her nose much more effectively without shoving anything in her nostrils. She barely even cries when I use it. Mostly, she hates the saline drops I use ahead of time. I have to wonder if I didn't start using the Nosefrida if she would have developed a worse infection. All that drainage could have headed to her lungs. I read some reviews on the Nosefrida that said it takes too much lung power. It definitely does take some lung power, but if you have healthy lungs it should be no problem (I had no difficulties). Also, some people said it's hard to hold the infant's head still. I don't think it's any harder to hold the baby's head still than with a bulb syringe (with both aspirators you have just one hand free). Actually, I think it's easier because I know my baby fights the bulb syringe much more than the Nosefrida. One great benefit of the Nosefrida is that you can wash it in the dishwasher. It is a very clean system. I HIGHLY recommend this product!!! Every mom who has a baby should own one. It truly comes down to a safety issue: allowing your baby to breathe.

After a morning spent listening to my 7 month old cough, I decided to break out the Nose Frida which had been sitting on the changing table like a box of chocolatessomething I was ashamed to admit that I secretly wanted to rip into. Let me start by saying that this is definitely a two person job. My husband had to hold him down while I placed the tube right up to his nose and then the sucking started. Take a deep breath and just suck like your life depended on it because that's really the only way you're going to battle that snot. This is not the place for dainty sips. All of a sudden a huge yellow snot monster crept its way into the tube, which meant it exited my baby's sinuses so I was hooked. After a few more minutes of us having to wrestle with him to hold him still I had gotten a ton of garbage out of his nose. Bottom line, there was nothing that even came close to getting even near the tube connected to my mouth so if you're having nightmares about snot going into your mouth, I can guarantee you that won't happen! I adore my baby, but there's a limit to what I'd do for him...

Pros

-Tube doesn't enter baby's nose so no irritation like with an aspirator or danger of him jerking and hurting his nose

-Works really well coupled with saline drops, so it's a nice, safe, natural way to clear sinuses

-It works fast, but you really have to suck to get it to work the best.

Cons

-None, you'd see a bunch of snot coming out if you used an aspirator so unless you're afraid of the power of physics, this will work wonders for you and baby!

Want Nosefrida The Snotsucker Nasal Aspirator Discount?

We bought this to use on our 9 month old daughter who was cutting teeth and had a really runny nose. The saline solution wasn't doing much but making a mess and making her grumpier. The pump nasal aspirator wasn't doing much good either.

So, out of desperation and a couple sleepness nights, we bought this magical little gadget. And, WOW!, are we glad that we did!

The cone-end goes just inside the tip of the nostril, and the other end goes between your lips like you're blowing up a balloon (but you inhale instead of exhale). You inhale as strongly as you can, and NO mucus enters your mouth. Like many other users, we were a bit apprehensive at first. But we found that the filter stops any and all particles from entering your mouth.

Also, the description doesn't tell you, but the Nosefrida comes with 6 or so extra filters. We bought extras, but they will probably last longer than the Nosefrida.

In a nutshell, if you have a baby with a runny nose, buy this aspirator. You'll be thankful you did!

Sassy Replacement Bag

Sassy Replacement BagThe Sassy Feeder is the best one on the market. And the fact that the mesh bag can be replaced is terrific. You can even have one for fruits, another for chicken, one for fish, etc. My baby loves eating peaches and grapes all by himself without adult's help.

I picked up a Sassy feeder in hopes our daughter, then 5 months, now 7 would like it. She loved it!! Frozen bananas and peaches are her favorite. The replacement bags are excellent quality. I typically soak a used bage in a cup of hot water and a few drops of dish soap and it washes up wonderfully.

I'm always looking for great alternatives to fast food when I'm on the go and toddler bowls totally provide that. They are all organic and I couldn't believe how much protein the veggie ravioli has. But what really makes them great is the taste. My 3 year old loves eating the veggie ravioli and I love how easy it is!

Plum Organics Baby Food Puffs - Super Purples - blueberry & purple sweet potato - pack of 6

Plum Organics Baby Food Puffs - Super Purples - blueberry & purple sweet potato - pack of 6For example, if you want something that will keep an older baby quiet on a plane ride, or a cute little finger food that travels well in the diaper bag and is already bite-size and tastes good and so on, I give these a 5. If you want what the packaging is trying to sell -"super" foods, "eat your colors", "made from real organic fruits and veggies", "vibrantly colored fruits and veggies hold many beneficial vitamins and minerals. Serving your baby a rainbow of colors will not only help develop a healthy taste for a variety of flavors, but will also provide a wide range of nutrients" -then I'd have to give it a 1. This is, despite their efforts to dress it up, just 1.5 ounces of fortified cereal. That's it. Every type -no matter what the combination of fruit and vegetableshas the exact same proportions of the exact same vitamins, even though they try to make it look like the purples are good for vitamin C and the oranges for vitamin A and the greens for calcium. Whatever was good in the organic veggies and fruits got taken out and forgotten somewhere; the only purpose the 'superfoods' serve in these concoctions is to be a colorful dust sprinkled on the outside of each piece (seriously). So like I said, if you're just looking for a good portable snack, these will work great. If you are trying to feed your baby vibrant colors so they can get those benefits extolled on the package, it looks like for now actual food is still your only option.

Now I know what "natural" food dyes are used to make things purple. Pretty, but not so fun to clean up. The purple dust gets all over my baby's face, hands (even under his fingernails!), and clothing, plus whatever surface he's eating them off of. The yellow and orange ones in this line aren't so bad, but now I'm regretting that I bought one of each color, because I'm betting the reds and greens will be just as messy. Skip the purples!!!

Buy Plum Organics Baby Food Puffs - Super Purples - blueberry & purple sweet potato - pack of 6 Now

We tried the purple, green, and red puffs, and we liked them all. They smell great and are quite tasty. My son eats a serving in just a few minutes. They aren't as sweet/sugary as other brands of puffs we've tried, which is a good thing. They're organic so you don't have to worry about any pesticides in the grains, fruits or veggies used to make them. Do I think they're worth $5/container? Definitely not. I got them on sale. I'd buy a few containers for $3 each every month. The bad thing about these is that once the container is opened, you want to use them in a week because they get stale that fast.

Unlike previous commenters, I didn't have a problem with the purple powder (which isn't just natural food coloring, it's dried and powdered blueberries and purple sweet potatoes) making a mess. You put your kid in a high chair with a tray and a pocket bib on, and let him eat. Then you wipe his hands and face before you let him get down and walk around. Voila! no mess!

Why coat the puffs with messy purple powder that gets all over everything? What's the point? To make it look pretty? Please! The worst idea ever; it's just super messy for no reason. When my son was about 7 months old we started teaching him to drink from this cup at meal time. At first I held it and it had to be very full for him to be able to use it but it didn't take long before he was drinking by himself. The handles are easy for him to hold, he passes it from one hand to the other and tips it head back to take a long drink. He loves it!

Sippy cup is cute and very durable. To help my little guy get used to it we just let him play with it for a while and he loves banging it around. The lid stays on great, sometimes too good. I struggle to get it off and almost end up with liquid all over me. Luckily we've only put water in it so far. I like that the spout can fold down but if I want my kid to learn to use it we have to keep it up. Of course then he plays with it and turns it upside down and it leaks... A lot. So not a good first sippy to try but probably will be great once he's older and knows how to use one.

I like that Green Sprouts is environmentally friendly and takes steps to protect our children as they are using non-toxic drink ware.

This cup almost always leaks from where the handles and base of the top meet. It's too bad because this is such a cute cup. We still use it, but I only put water in it because of leaking when she drinks from it.

Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair

Stokke Tripp Trapp Highchair, WalnutI have 2 children who are 2 years apart in age. I bought one chair when my oldest was 2 1/2-ish and I needed the highchair he was still using for my then nine month old daughter. I have a small home and only enough space for a breakfast table. I needed the extra chairs for guests. So it was worth it to me to buy an additional chair for my child. Also, I read one reviewer who said that kids will squirm less and be interested in their food if the chair they sit it fits them well. I found that to be true. My kids are now 6 and 4. Each of them has a Stokke chair that fits them well AND that they have always been able to climb into and out of themselves. I think this is important for their sense of self reliance.

I have two complaints and they are small (and this is why fours stars instead of five): 1) the sticker on the back with the warnings is ugly and has to be removed with goo gone takes a good half hour. 2) the straps never worked right, I never used them and eventually took them off. I could not adjust them properly and the kids would struggle to get out for only the reason that they felt confined. Both of my kids have fallen out of their seats without injuryI believe this is part of childhood and they learn very quickly to sit properly. The seat itself has never toppledEVER.

Because I found the straps useless I recommend that you not use this seat until the child is able to climb up on his or her ownlike at age 2 or more. These chairs are pricey but the cost of replacing or repairing our nice dining chair (which is part of a matched set) after it is scratched/stained from having a booster seat attached to it is probably comparable.

My advice is this: spend your money on the items that you use everydayseats like these, rockingchairs/furnishings, quality cribs and sheets, quality adaptive equipment like stools and toilet inserts. Get things that will hold up and feel secure for children to use. The added benefit is that when you are done with them and have enjoyed using them they have life left in them and you can sell them for a fair price at your next garage sale, or on craigslist, or hand them off with pride to someone else etc. The chairs are durable and look brand new still.

ps. I don't have the cushions. Just one more thing to wash. I don't feel they are necessary for comfort or anything.

8/29/12 update:

Still in the same tiny house and still using the Stokkes chairs. Kids are now 7 and 9. I've offered to have them sit in the regular dining chair but they refuse! We just keep adjusting the foot rests for their growth. The chairs have held up beautifully. My daughter pushes her Stokke chair over to her electric piano for her lessons she likes it better than the piano bench because she sits higher and her feet don't dangle. An unexpected benefit! I upgraded to five stars.

We received a Tripp Trapp chair 25 years ago when my daughter was a toddler struggling to reach the table, sink, and anything else high up. Over the course of the years we bought another one for a subsequent child, used them at the dining table, let the kids work at the sink, adjusted them to adult seating as they grew, etc.

Now my grandchildren are arriving, and they sit in their parents' old chairs (which still look beautiful) when they visit, and use new ones in their own home. The chairs are sturdy, comfortable, adjustable, and long-lived. Yes, they cost money, but this is a case of investing in something of high quality which will last for many years. Buying one of these early on will avoid the need to invest in other seating devices which don't last nearly as well, thus needing replacement.

My Stokke baby rail broke. Please be aware before purchasing this high chair, that there are safer (and less-expensive) options out there. I thought I was giving my daughter the best by purchasing a "top-of-the-line" high chair, but I was really putting her in danger.

The flimsy, plastic baby rail which attaches to the seat of the chair via a think clip broke in half when my infant daughter leaned forward in the chair. My daughter then tumbled forward, hitting her head on the table in front of her and getting caught up in the harness. I do not think the baby rail was manufactured with the safety of children in mind, and I want to warn other parents before they make the same mistake.

Despite repeatedly calling and even sending pictures of the defective product, the company has refused to refund my purchase. When I called, the customer service representative mentioned that they have seen this happen on numerous occasions. So, why is this product still on the market?!

My anger regarding my child's fall as a result of this poorly-designed product and Stokke's complete disregard for the safety of the children it sells to has prompted me to write this review and warn others of the danger of the plastic baby rail that accompanies the Stokke high chair.

We bought this chair a little under a year ago. Our 22mo daughter tipped over backwards in it and her head went slamming to the hard tile floor which landed us in the ER. I'm at a loss as to a better option since this chair came so highly rated, but we will not be using it anymore. My daughter is very petite, only 20lbs and still managed to do it. We were both seated at the table with her and couldn't grab her in time because it happened so fast. I'm horrified to think what could have happened to her fragile little skull and brain. Just Google "tripp trapp tipping" and see the YouTube video of the infant tipping. The same thing could happen in any of the belt-on toddler boosters that strap to a regular dining chair. Hoping this review will prevent at least a few more tippings. It was very scary.

I don't know how this chair has passed so many safety standards. They must not test it on carpet and with all table types because our son pushed himself back from the table today and the chair flipped backwards. He hit his head on a console table that was behind him, which was actually probably a good thing because it helped slow the momentum, but then he did hit the floor. It was the most horrifying thing for us so far. He is 11 1/2 months old. Please be warned that if it even seems like your child can push off the table with this chair do not use it.

This thing is going to be torn apart and put out with the trash.

In all fairness I must update this review...I am a huge proponent of parents taking responsibility for their children and after further review we saw in the downloadable safety information on this chair that there is indeed a tipping possibility if the chair is on certain surfaces and if they can reach a certain part of the table. So please, please make sure you do not fall into this category before buying this chair.

If you are in the safe zone then I will have to say you may just love the chair as we did before the fall.
