Clevamama Baby Formula Mixer

Clevamama Baby Formula MixerI originally purchased this item when my daughter was diagnosed with severe GERD as an infant. She was required to take infant Zantac twice per day, and drink one tablespoon of rice cereal for each ounce of formula she drank. She was both lactose and soy intolerant so I had to buy the Nutramegen formula, the most expensive hypoallergenic formula in the shelf. It didn't come enriched with rice starch like some of the other milk based formulas did, so I had to mix this super thick formula every time she ate! Plus she had to remain upright for 30 minutes after she ate to make sure she didn't throw it all up. It was exhausting, especially when she ate every few hours. My arms and wrists became incredibly sore and I would still find lumps in it after I fed her. That wasn't a good thing with her stomach.

When I found this product, I thought "If this works, it will be a godsend!". It takes two AA batteries to work, and is easy to operate after simply pushing the button. Immediately, her formula was mixed evenly, without added bubbles and NO lumps! It cut my formula mixing time in half and saved my sore arms and wrists from constantly shaking formula in bottles!!

It also works great for blending hot chocolate, dry soups and other products. I recently gave this product to my daughter's day care worker. I didn't need it anymore because she outgrew her lactose intolerance and is 2 1/2, she doesn't need formula anymore. I have to say, I am constantly hearing from my daughter's daycare provider how grateful she is to have this! She has several babies that require the same process when making formula. I thought it was hard to make for just one baby, she has three to care for! She has arthritis so this has been a lifesaver for her as well. She uses rechargeable batteries so she won't have to replace any. This is hands down one of the best inventions for babies. Even if you are mixing simple formula without any additional ingredients, it mixes thoroughly without lumps or bubbles that can irritate a baby's stomach. I recommend this product to everyone!!

Doidy Cup - Green color

Doidy Cup - Green colorI decided that I did not want my daughter going through a sippy-cup phase, so I chose this cup as her transition from a bottle. The slant makes it easy for her to see the liquid as she drinks it, and so far, I'm encouraged by her progress (she's 10 months old, and we've been gradually introducing the cup for three months). To get five stars, the manufacturer would have to make a transparent version of the cup, so that I could more easily see the liquid, too, to help my baby out.

I am very happy to see that Amazon is selling these in the US. I don't know why they are not popular here and had purchased mine in the UK. I taught all 3 of my boys to drink from a cup using the Doidy starting at 3 mos. The extended lip of the cup helps them learn to drink without the cup hitting their forehead. As a result, we skipped the bottle/sippy cup stage and I never had to worry about the lack of straws or "childsafe" sippy cups at restaurants or when we are out and about. They just drink from cups like the rest of us and my sons are 1, 3, and 4 yrs old. In fact, more messes are caused if they use straws or sippy cups because they let the liquid drip everywhere. I've had 3 of these cups for 4 years and they have been in the dishwasher, thrown, dropped, chewed on, and still have life left with them. The only negative is that I know these cups only retail for a few pounds in the UK, but I guess when you think of the cost of shipping & handling, the US price is worth it.

It's helping my 8 mon old son learn to drink out of a cup.

It's so much better than a sippy cup.

When it was time for my baby to learn to drink from an open cup, I offered him several different types of cups. This one seemed interesting, but he never cared much for it. The handles are smaller than they ought to be for little, inexperienced fingers to grab, and the slant didn't seem to help him get the hang of drinking at all. I very much prefer the BabyBjorn cup, despite it's high price: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003U6GOS8/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_146

With my first child, I never knew about Doidy cups and we went through sippy cups like everyone else. And what a pain they were -mismatching lids, the little inner pieces disappearing into the dishwasher, finding an old one under the bed (gag). I heard about this cup that could teach even babies how to drink -and our dentist told me how much better it is for their mouths, teeth, and jawline. So with my second child, we started him on the Doidy cup at about 9 months of age. He spilled plenty at first, but really got the hang of it. He could use a regular cup about six months later. I consider it a must-have.

NurturMe All-Natural Baby Food, Variety Pack, 8-Count Pouches (Pack of 4)

NurturMe All-Natural Baby Food, Variety Pack, 8-Count PouchesWe started our son on solids when he was six months. The first "food" we introduced was rice cereal as recommended by our pediatrician. We tried every day for 2 weeks to feed my son rice cereal and then oatmeal cereal but he hated both! He'd refuse the food by turning away and keeping his mouth tightly shut. I was at my wits end and gave him a break because I knew I had to be patient. I was never a huge fan of the idea of feeding my son rice cereal so I went searching for something that was convenient and came in small portions. I didn't want to feed my son the traditional baby food from a jar due to the risk of BPA found in the jar lids. Luckily, I found NurturMe! My son loved it from the start. We started with the peas and then worked our way through the apple, squash, and sweet potato.

Here is what I love about NuturMe Baby Food:

CONVENIENCE. The food comes in BPA-FREE paper pouches that are easy to travel with. They contain the same amount of food as a 2.5oz jar of baby food. When we first started my son on solids he ate 1/2 pouch at each feeding. We saved the rest in the fridge and fed the the rest at his second feeding. It states on the packaging that they can last 2-3 days refrigerated. I personally only trust 24 hours if prepared with formula and 2-3 days if made with water. This is because it states on the formula can that prepared formula should be discarded after 24 hours. If I still breastfed, I would trust breastmilk to last 2-3 days as well.

TASTE. Although the food is quick dried, it tastes fresh! The peas actually taste like peas and they are actually bright green, like they should be. I've tried the foods myself before I first fed them to my son and they passed my taste test! I also love that the baby food is organic. This is very important to me that everything my son eats is free of pesticides. I am conscious about what I eat, it shouldn't be any different for my son.

MIX & MATCH. I love that you can mix and match the baby foods together to make new flavor profiles for the baby. I am all about introducing new foods to my baby and this is the perfect way to do it! Another great idea is to add juice to the baby food once your baby is 8+ months. When my son gets older I am going to try out adding pomegranate juice to the apple variety. I don't plan of giving my son juice to drink so this is a great way to introduce him to the flavor of pomegranate.

ECO-FRIENDLY. The packaging to completely recyclable and doesn't take of the space that canned baby food does. That means a smaller carbon footprint! In addition, the packaging is BPA-FREE. I emailed the company and asked them before I purchased the product on Amazon.

Here is the only issue I have with NurturMe:

CONSISTENCY. I noticed that it can be difficult to mix the baby food together to get the desired consistency. For instance, the apple was really clumpy and hard before I added the water and I had a difficult time getting all of the clumps out. Its similar to mixing formula -you have to take extra care! My remedy for this was to use a handheld milk frother and from then on I got the perfect consistency with no clumps! I've also noticed that the peas have a little bit of a grainy texture but my son doesn't seem to mind.

I am definitely happy with NuturMe baby food. I think it is a quick and convenient way to serve my baby organic baby food for when we are on the go! It is the best alternative I have found to homemade baby food.

At the age of about 4 months, my little boy stopped gaining weight and dropped from the 55th percentile to the 2nd very quickly. I am SO GLAD that I found Nurturme at the time I did. It allowed me to start introducing him to solid foods, while mixing it with breastmilk or formula, so not only was he getting the calories from the food, but from the milk as well. After several months on Nurturme, he is gaining weight at a steady rate and we no longer have to be concerned about his growth.

I also have a SUPER picky 3 year old who won't touch a vegetable if I cover it in chocolate and call it a Twinkie. I am able to add a packet or two of the Nurturme veggies to her mac & cheese or other foods to sneak her in some nutrition. Now to try that on my husband...

We love this product! Our baby is 6 months old and we're introducing new foods to her. So far she has tried the pumpkin, and she can't get enough!!! She grabs for the spoon! We love that this product is organic and that use can use breastmilk to mix so your baby gets added nutrients. It's portable, compact, and you can take it anywhere. If at a restaurant or away from home, simply warm up your milk and combine. It's really fantastic!

I thought this sounded like the perfect solution for taking nutritious wholesome food with us for our 8 month old baby on our vacation out of the country where I am worried we won't have very many fruit and vegetable options. I have been making my own baby food with organic ingredients for the last 2 months. I was excited to get the package today and ripped open the sweet potatoes, one of my daughter's homemade favorites. I was extremely disgusted by the smell of the powder but decided to put some water in and give it a try anyway (hoping that the hydration would somehow help the mixture). I tried a bite and these don't even taste anything like sweet potatoes. They are very dark brown and tasted like minerals and quite unnatural. My daughter ate the two bites I gave her but I felt too guilty feeding her anymore and dumped out the bowl...and my garbage smells terrible now.

There are many reasons to reconsider the first foods we give to babies. The jars and the plastic containers for processed baby food are often difficult to recycle. The processed food and the dried cereals (wheat, rice, etc.) are nothing more than empty carbs for a society facing a massive problem with the rise of type II diabetes. Is this anything to give to a 4 month old baby?

To complicate matters, the World Health Organization is now recommending that babies feed on only breastmilk or formula until baby is 6 months. The reason is that baby's small intestines cannot process the iron out of other foods until baby is six months. As any parent can tell you, by four months of age, most babies are wanting to try other foods.

Nurturme baby food can help with all of this. Each packet makes up about 2.75 oz of baby food, the same amount in a standard baby food container. The freeze dried food is combined with breastmilk or formula, so baby can try new foods like peas, apples, squash or sweet potatoes and still get iron a form they can use, while eating a nutritious veggie instead of a starchy carb. I know carbs are important, but they hardly seem like the best foods to introduce when energy can be supplied from formula or breastmilk.

The different foods can be combined to make up baby food, for example apples and sweet potatoes together. Another versatility option is to add a little bit of nurturme to babies bottle, sort of like a baby food smoothy.

The freeze dried packets are super convenient. They are easier to carry around and store than regular baby food. After baby is six months, if a parent wanted to add water rather than milk or formula, they can.

The baby food tastes good, too. Normal baby food peas tastes like horrible canned peas. If you ever wondered why baby wouldn't eat peas, try tasting that nasty food. The nurturme peas actually taste like fresh peas (yes, i tried them for myself). I tried all four foods in this pack, and they all tasted like fresh food. I think that having good tasting, healthy food would be much better to introduce than nasty tasting food. I am trying to develop good eating habits in my child, after all.

Sassy On the Go Formula Dispenser, Pinkthis formula dispenser is awesome! it keeps my daughters formula protected and pours the perfect measured amount with out it spilling every where and its a faster way to make her bottle faster if you already have a bottle of water handy :)

I use this formula dispenser when I'm traveling or have a babysitter to have the correct amount if formula already to go. The container is dishwasher safe too! I highly recommend it.

I did not receive the correct item, it is still made by sassy but it is not the item pictured. I have one like the one pictured and I wanted a second one since the one I have is so great, but the one I received doesn't click for each section and it opens different to pour out a section of the formula. The little lid that opens, opens opposite and I don't like it because it is hard to get the formula out of it.

Melissa & Doug Scootin' Turtle Mealtime Set

Melissa & Doug Scootin' Turtle Mealtime SetMy son is obsessed with turtles so when I saw this I knew we had to get it! It hasn't disappointed yet. My son loves to eat from his turtle plate and he carries his snacks around in his bowl. We haven't used the cup yet, as we still need sippy cups so that we don't spill everywhere. Like most Melissa and Doug products, this seems to be very well made. I would highly recommend this for any turtle loving kid!

was given as a gift. Can't really give any more info since I'm not sure if it has been used yet.

My son loves this set so much! He has learned to eat with the fork and spoon and drink from the cup due to this excitement over this product! I love it and would recommend it to anyone who asked for a good dinner ware recommendation! The only problem I have with it is the placemat starts to get very scratched up after only a few uses so it does not look as nice as it used to but it is the part of the product I was worried least about. The Melissa & Doug products yet again meet or exceed my expectations =)

Ulubulu Silicone Bib, Hoot the Owl

Ulubulu Silicone Bib, Hoot the OwlThis is such a cute bib, but it was not a hit with my 13 month old granddaughter or with my 6 month old grandson. It takes too long to hook the end through the hole.

I brought two of these bibs for twin grandsons. They boys love them. We like them because they are easy to clean after each use and they catch what doesn't make it to their mouths.

I love this bib!! After going through a gazillion I finally stumbled upon these and purchased Hoot the Owl for a test drive. When I got the bib I was very skeptical because it seems rather tiny. My son is 12 months and starting to play with his food and I thought it would be a disaster. To my surprise and delight it catches everything! My son also pulls his velcro bibs right off but because of the more secure closure of this bib we do not have this problem. I also love how easy to clean it is. Perfect for moms on the go! I'm buying more.

This little bib is pretty handy in catching food that baby cannot exactly get in their mouth. Pretty easy to clean too and the design is very attractive.

Ok, I know it's not a chew toy. In fact, I'm certain that they (Ulubulu)would say (if they haven't already) that you should not allow baby to chew on this for safety reasons. But...my baby is a tiny hungry hippo. She regularly squaks if I don't get her food fast enough. When I put this bib on her while I get her food, she pulls it up and chomps on it for a good few minutes (silicone must feel good on emerging teeth), which buys me some quiet time to get her food. Oh, and also, it works as a bib. Though I tend to only use it for less messy foods because it's not very big. If it's an avocado or something that's going to be uber messy and stain clothes, you're probably better off using a bib with more coverage.

Plum Organics Teensy Fruits, 5 Count (Pack of 8)

Sassy Less Mess Toddler Spoon 2pk - Orange

Sassy Less Mess Toddler Spoon 2pk - OrangeThis spoon cannot be used if your child eats with their left hand. Perfect for the right hand though! They simply need to offer a spoon for lefty's.

I've tried several different spoons and these are only slightly better than average not great. First, they are only good for right-handed children. One of my sons prefers to eat left-handed so he cannot use the spoon. My other son does fine. Second, despite product labeling to the contrary, the holes don't seem to keep food on the spoon better than those without. The only real advantage I have seen after using them for a couple months is that the angle helps the child get the food to his/her mouth a little easier. I think the spoons are a little pricey for only an average product.

Buy Sassy Less Mess Toddler Spoon 2pk - Orange Now

I've purchased dozens of "custom" spoons for my toddler at this point. It seems that every day, some new design comes out that looks like it would be easier for him to use. The truth is that development-wise, he's changing so quickly, that I could probably keep buying new spoons every week until he's old enough to use regular ones and still not be happy.

Pros: Heavy-duty plastic. He chews on these with his full set of teeth and only makes a small dent in them. The angle helps since he doesn't have the wrist motion to easily get a straight spoon into his mouth without spilling.

Cons: Slightly concerned that I'm unnecessairly encouraging right-handedness (I would like to have the option to allow him to use either hand).

Wash: The holes don't seem to help or hinder. I don't see them holding solid foods on the spoon any better than non-holes.

Overall, a good product, but not quite perfect (though nothing might ever be).

My 14 month old does well with these. I thought they would make a huge difference, but nothing amazingly different happened with the new spoon. I think they are a bit over priced, but they are a hard plastic and look like they are durable. Only giving 4 stars because I think they could be less expensive.

When I first came across these I was a little confused about the angle but after spending some time with a friend's little one I completely understand the advantage of an angled spoon. I passed it along immediately and she absolutely loves it! Less mess is right! She's even passed it along to other mom's with kids at that stage of development with equally good results.
