UPPAbaby Vista Snack Tray, Clear

UPPAbaby Vista Snack Tray, ClearI actually have a Britax B Ready stroller, not the Uppababy Vista. Britax doesn't make a snack tray. The seat size and belly bar mechanism on the Vista and B-Ready are so similar that I thought I'd give this a try. Works brilliantly! Fits perfectly into where you would attach the belly bar. There is a button on the part of the stroller the belly bar attaches to that you push to release the tray. The tray is a little high (on my 1 1/2 year old the tray is closer to chest height), but works great. Like the older model vistas, probably should only use in the upright position (position 1). May be okay in position 2, but definitely wouldn't work when fully reclined (position 3).

Regarding the holder in general, I love how easy it is to snap out of its frame and clean the tray after each use. So simple! Also easy to swing one side out to load your child.

Note: The instructions do say this is only sold for Vista models, so this is not an intended use.

Looking for a snack tray that would fit my Britax B-Ready I found a couple reviews that this tray worked. I am SO glad I went ahead with the purchase. It fits like it was made for the B-Ready. As a bonus, I really, really like that the tray pops out for a good cleaning :)

Got this for my Vista thinking that there was no way I could adapt it to my G Luxe and how sad it would be to have to buy a second, inferior product for our umbrella stroller. How happy I was to find that it came with clip on connectors made to adapt the tray for the Cruz, and that those clips work perfectly with the G Luxe. It closes with the clips attached, although you do need to remove the tray. Solves all my problems!!!

I have the first year wave stroller in black and the tray from uppababy fits perfectly on it. Best option since there is no option available from the first year brand!

I had a hard time figuring out whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. It serve's the intended purpose just fine but I feel like charging close to $40 for an item that many strollers half the price of the UppaBaby include standard is a bit much.

It snaps in and comes out easy. The cup holder actually serves as a holder for his snack container at the moment. We've used this a few times so far but have found that as our son gets older he spends more time in carts than his stroller. We held off on this accessory for a long time after purchasing the stroller and both my wife and I both agreed that this wasn't worth the cost.

Plum Organics Training Meals - Vegetable Stew with Beef

Plum Organics Training Meals - Vegetable Stew with BeefMy son is a very picky eater, likes cereal mixed with fruit, mangos and sweet potatoes, but hates anything meat. I trying making him mashed meats and fish that we cook, but he never is very interested. His grandma brought this mix home and he absolutely loves it! It makes me feel good that he is eating something besides cereal :)

Doidy Cup - Orange color

Doidy Cup - Orange color
  • It may look strange! but for teaching your child to drink from a rim it is the best!
  • The DOIDY Cup was scientifically designed with its unique slant to teach children to drink from a rim and NOT a spout.
  • Weaning ~ The DOIDY Cup is an ideal aid to weaning as the natural mouth action used is the same as in breast feeding.
  • The DOIDY Cup is made from food safe HD Polyethylene and is Bisphenol free.
  • This proven 40 year-old design helps your baby learn to drink safely from a cup with fewer spillages along the way.The DOIDY Cups are UNICEF baby friendly and they are sold by the National Childbirth Trust in the U.K.

I was trying to get my 6 month old, exclusively breastfed baby to start taking a bottle. He refused for 1.5 month. My doctor suggested I go straight to a cup so I wouldn't have to wean off a bottle.

I got this hoping he would take it and eventually learn to use it on his own. He too the cup right away, with my a assistance, and is now 8 months and getting better each day trying to use it on his own. I would highly recommend this :)

I used this when I was teaching my child to drink from a cup (around 1 year of age). The handles didn't seem very comfortable to me, but she had no problem holding them. Initially I would help guide the cup and the tilt made it easier for both of us to see the liquid going towards her face. Later on she was able to use it on her own. After several months of that, she transitioned to a regular cup. We probably used the Doidy cup for less than a year, but I found it useful. I do think it's overpriced though.

I went through so many products to try and get my son to drink from anything but a bottle. This did it. He loves grabbing onto the side handles and the tilted sides make it easy for him to get the liquid out. Messier than a sippy cup but it spares me now having to teach my son not to use a suippy cup!

We got these after spending a week with my sister and niece that was 7 weeks ahead of my baby. The babies love these. You really start to see a sense of independence. They can sip and stick their little face in the cup so they can learn how to do this new process comfortably. I highly recommend getting 2 at least.

The cup works great. I got it for my son when he was maybe 1 1/2 and he could drink out of it just fine. The problem is if your child is young enough to need help drinking out of a cup then they are probably young enough that they think dumping out their cup and playing in the water is fun. My son is three now and well past the age where he can drink out of any cup just fine, until you look away for a second, then it's all over the floor. He still gets a sippy cup because it just plain messy other wise. This cup does exactly what it says it will but it was a waste of money for us.

JL Childress 6 Bottle Cooler, Black

JL Childress 6 Bottle Cooler, BlackI got this cooler so that I could pack 4 nighttime bottles for my twins. It claims it can hold 6 bottles, and while that is possible there is NO room in the main compartment for any ice packs when doing that. The makers of this cooler expect you to ONLY put ice packs in the top zipper compartment. However, that won't keep the bottles cool enough in my opinion. So since we only ever pack 4 bottles we stick an ice pack on the bottom of the main compartment and stand an ice block upright in the middle (with 2 bottles on each side). This works perfectly to keep all 4 bottles cold throughout the night.

We have used 4 oz Dr. Browns standard bottles and 9 oz Playtex Ventaire bottles and they fit fine. However, 8 oz Dr. Browns bottles may be a little too tall.

I bought this bag to hold my 8oz Dr. Browns bottles in my Medela In Style Advanced pump carrier. The 4oz bottles that came with the pump weren't big enough and I needed to use 8oz bottles to pump with, which means the bag that came with the pump was too short to hold the taller bottles. This bag works well to hold four 8oz Dr. Brown bottles along with the contoured Medela ice pack. The dimensions aren't exactly right for the bottles and ice pack but it's close enough to work well and still fits in the nook in my pump bag where the old bottle bag fit (I have the messenger style bag).

Since I only use this for pumping I put the bottles back in the bag with travel caps (not the nipple and cap assembly). I haven't tried using this bag to transport assembled bottles so I don't know if that works but I suspect it would work but could be a tight fit.

This is a useful bag for holding tall bottles during the day if you're pumping and you need a taller bag then the short bag that comes with the Medela pump.

I got this to transport bottles back and forth to daycare. Since I am breastfeeding I am sending smaller quantities 2-4 oz which means more bottles. I am using the Breastflow 5 oz bottles and I can fit 5 in the carrier (4 standing up and 1 laying down across the top) and the included ice pack across the top. Looks like it is going to work great! The material is a little cheap on the inside so I just plan on being careful with it. But for the price and the size it is worth it as far as I am concerned.

I got this cooler to keep my pumped milk in at work. The bag is well made and keep the bottles cool with an ice pack in there. It does not fit well in my Medela breast pump shoulder bag but I can squeeze it. Usually I just leave the breast pump bag unzipped. I can see how the cooler will be very handle to send to daycare when we have 8 oz bottles and solids to send as there is a nice second area for small things. Overall it gets the job done, I just wish it fit better in the breast pump bag.

I like this bag. I can easily fit 6 Dr. brown 8oz bottles with travel caps in the bottom, and am able to fit accessories (including bottle nipple, screw cap, and insert) in the top portion. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because the lining seems cheap, like it will crack easily. Otherwise, great product.

OXO Tot Plate

OXO Tot Plate, PinkWe really like these plates. They are heavy on the bottom, rubberized so they don't slip, and easy to clean. I also have the OXO Tot Bowl Set, Aqua. The big thing to remember is that you can't microwave these. Otherwise, they are pretty much perfect.

We like this plate. It's also a nice size to get to take to the restaurants with us.

However, I might have missed the fine print, but you can't put this seemingly plastic plate in the microwave. The couple times we have in 2 different microwaves it has put off sparks.

I love this plate! I like how it has a non-skid bottom so it doesn't slide all over the tray. I also like how it has a removable ring so it's easier for little fingers to pick up foods, or I can leave the ring on to help guide food onto the spoon when little ones are learning to use utensils.

As an Oxo junkie no surprise to me, these plates are excellent! Contrary to what another reviewer said, it states on the package that they are microwavable. They are the perfect size for little ones trying hard to get their food to stay on wobbly spoons and forks.

Great plate for a toddler meal and for a toddler learning to use utensils because of the curved lip. My kids haven't tried to take out the green lip on the plate, but I can easily take it apart to wash. I like that it's a bit weighted and that it has a nonslip grip so that the kids can't knock it around easily. Kids can easily lift and flip this plate if they want to though :-) Love that it's dishwasher safe. If there's a tomato based sauce in it a handwash alone might leave red red residue on it, but dishwasher usually takes it out. I cut food directly in it so there are little scratch marks all over but that doesn't bother me. Only thing I wish is that it was microwave safe too.

(50-Pack) Reusable Baby Food Pouches by U-Fill Snack Pack

(50-Pack) Reusable Baby Food Pouches by U-Fill Snack PackI was very nervous about these. I was afraid the plastic would be inferior, and that the ziploc on the bottom wouldn't hold up against a toddler. I bought the 10-pack.

I WAS WRONG!

This is a great product! My husband tried to squeeze it (while full and capped) to see if he could get it to bust open, but the ziploc held firm. Granted, he probably wasn't using his full strength, but certainly more than could be expected from a toddler or sane adult. The plastic is heavier than I expected as well, and the cap screws on quite tight.

I have experienced some leaking when stored in the fridge for more than a day, but found this to be easily fixed by storing them cap-down. They don't stand upright on their own anyway, so I used a plastic container to keep them together.

Infantino Steam and Smush

Infantino Steam and SmushAbsolutely love! Bought for my 9 month old. And wish I bought it sooner. Makes making meal and snacks so easy. No instructions but you can figure it out. Would buy again!

The item steams well and mashes perfectly. I'm sure you could use a fork and bowl the the masher is way my comfortable especially with larger quantities and the ridges on the bowl and the hole sin the masher ensure you're getting a very smooth end product.

This is a fantastic product! Once the doctor gave us the go ahead with solids I went and got this at Toys R Us (for less than here). This product lets me make my baby's food right away a single serving or two servings in one shot. It is very washable. It is lightweight and doesn't have the PBA and other bad things in the platic.

The only thing that I do not like is that the cup is white and it stains with the foods that mash up for the baby. Other than that, I am willing to live with a yellow bowl in order to give him fresh foods. I wish that the bowl color was different, but you get a lot of things in this little box.

Making baby food shouldn't be a huge deal. Just cut up the food, add a little bit of water, and put into the microwave. Then take out the purple steamer part and mash away. Then the food is ready to eat. I will see how much I can go without purchasing any baby food and this little gadget will keep my little one as part of the family while eating the same foods that we do at the same time. :) Great product! :)

The Steam and Smush is a great little gadget for those wanting to make their own baby food. It allows small batches of cooked veggies and fruits to be steamed in the microwave rather than in a large pan on the stovetop . The smasher is then used to mash the food right in the steamer cup. The item is well made and works like advertise. And is a must for those wanting to make their own organic baby food.

When my son was 5 months old I started making his baby food. I'm not incredibly comfortable in the kitchen so I knew I didn't want any big food processor gadgets or any heavy machinery. I like to keep things simple and we learned pretty quickly that my son doesn't like puree's anyways so this little gadget has been perfect. I don't use the steam function of it because I steam all his food on the stove or bake in the oven but the smush part is perfect! I can get everything smushed up perfectly and clean up is a breeze. Just wish it was a little bit bigger. It's considerably bigger then the "fresh foods mash and serve bowl" but I still wish I could get more food in at once. Overall, great product and the only thing I use other than a steamer pot, oven, and stovetop to make all my baby's food.

Crocodile Creek Barnyard Placemat

Crocodile Creek Barnyard PlacematI just bought a dozen various crocodile creek placemats for my boys; 2-5yrs. I chose crocodile creek because my eldest had their planet one for the last two years. After daily use it's ready to surrender, although not in horrible shape. The images are wonderful. The only complaint is that they are so wonderful the boys want to move their food over to look at the graphics. Just wipe them clean, they will last. No scrubbies though because you will scratch the surface, and the graphics.

Gotta add my own experience with these mats. i have been using these for 2 years now and theyre still in great shape. i throw it in the dishwasher when its been a sloppy joe type of dinner otherwise a simple rinse is all they need. i have been able to make up a lot of stories around the table. i use the "if you take another bite i'll make a sound like a horse" and follow it clockwise through the mat... when im in the other room i can hear my four year old chomping on some cheerios and in-between bites i hear an animal sound, its really cute. theyre great mats and worth the pictures. my kids love them and its great because they refuse to it on the table without them, which is great for me if ya know what i mean!

This is a really cute placemat. I was aware of the issues Crocodile Creek placemats had with scratching and fading if washed too roughly before I ordered. It's true, but if you're careful, you can keep the damage to a minimum. We have scratches, but we'll live.

Baby Mum-Mum Original Flavor Rice Biscuit, 24-pieces (Pack of 6)

Baby Mum-Mum Original Flavor Rice Biscuit, 24-piecesThis is what my wife wrote about these on her blog:

Pros: Great as a first finger food, low choking risk, tastes good, not very messy, packaged conveniently for on-the-go snack, does not contain wheat.

Cons: Not sold in most supermarkets (have only found them at Walmart and Sam's Club and on Amazon.com), caused me temporary panic b/c they are made in China and contain skim milk powder BUT there seems to be no cause for concern.

I've been giving Baby Mum-Mum rice crackers to SB as a snack since he was about 7 months old, and it was love at first bite. I taste all the stuff I give to SB to see how edible they are, and I have to say that they are pretty darn tasty. The crackers are very light and airy and sort of melt in your mouth as you chew (or mash in SB's case). They have a lightly sweet taste that makes them easy to eat. The box contains 12 conveniently wrapped packages of 2 crackers each perfect for sticking in your diaper bag for snack time on the go.

After SB's bottom front teeth came in at about 6.5 months, I started looking for a teething cracker or biscuit that doesn't have wheat in it (I read that it's better to wait until baby is 9-12 months old before introducing wheat due to the allergy risk) and couldn't find anything in the grocery aisles, surprisingly. Then I came across Baby Mum-Mums at my local Walmart, which are made of rice, not wheat. Although Baby Mum-Mums aren't exactly a teething cracker, they were close enough for me. I mainly wanted something that SB could practice biting and chewing on. They've turned out to be the perfect starter finger food.

Initially, I would hold the cracker for SB as he chomped on it, but after a little encouragement, he started taking the cracker in his own hand and feeding himself. Yay, his first successful attempt at finger food self-feeding! The crackers were great for giving him finger food practice, since they are easy for his little hands to clasp and big enough for him to find his mouth with it. As you can see from the picture, they have a long oval shape and are pretty thin, so it's easy to bite off pieces. And they don't create much mess at all a few crumbs here and there. I've found them to be a great distraction for SB when he gets fussy on car rides or in his stroller.

There are a lot of things to like about Baby Mum-Mums. The box highlights the following:

-No Artificial Colors or Flavors

-No Preservatives

-Gluten, Egg & Peanut Free

-Baked, Low in Fat & No Trans Fat

-No Added Fats or Oils

But there is another important thing to note about these crackers. They are made in China AND contain milk powder. About a week after the melamine-tainted milk scandal came to light in China, it suddenly hit me that my SB's beloved Baby Mum-Mums might be one of the foods affected by the tainted milk. I went straight to the web to see what information I could dig up on Mum-Mums and the melamine issue, and...it seems that they are safe. A big sigh of relief. This is what I found:

Statement from National Importers (importer/distributor of the product): This basically states that Mum-Mums contain milk powder imported from New Zealand and that food authorities in China, Australia, Canada, and the US have tested batches of Mum-Mums with results all coming back negative for melamine contamination.

My husband and I came from Taiwan and have been living in the US for over 15 years. Normally we only buy Chinese snacks that are brand names and made in US or Taiwan. However, I was very glad to find this product in Amazon even though I just bought it today and haven't yet received it. I do know "Hot Kid" very well and used to have it for snack growing up in Taiwan. It was one of my few favorite snacks made by a well reputed Taiwanese company. I trust this brand just as I do General Mills or Kraft. It was already a major food company in Taiwan back then and "rice rusk" was the most popular product. Now, this company has made its way to becoming one of the three biggest food companies in China. Interesting enough, these three companies are all Taiwanese companies. I think the main reason is that people in China do not trust their own brands. I believe that "Hot Kid"is a quality food product. I think the worry is overdone and the red flag is unnecessary. My son is 7 months now and it was a pleasing surprise to have found this product in US.

Oh my, as the mother of the world's crankiest teether, I should have been on the lookout for something like this. Honestly, I'm smacking myself in the forehead for not trying mum-mums earlier. Because my son? He loves him some mum-mum. They let him happily gnaw away before dissolving into non-choking hazard goo, and this kid has been pretty unimpressed with all those other teething products out there. I know because I own them all. Seriously, all of them. Sophie? Berry teether? Water ring teether? Bead teether? Mesh feeder-teether thing? Ice cube in a washcloth? They're all garbage in my sons eyes. Some asian rice rusks with a funny name=LOVE.

Pros: I can find them at my local Walmart. They're perfectly portioned with two to a package (like poptarts), and they're easily tossed into a diaper bag. I break them in half before handing them off to my son, but that's just because he has a tendency to randomly chuck things out his stroller, and this keeps him from wasting an entire precious mum-mum. I personally think they taste pretty good (I haven't tried the other flavors). Also, they're cheap, much cheaper than all those teething products I just listed up there.

Cons: While somewhat sturdy, they are not crush proof, as evidenced by the large amount of mum-mum dust in my purse. They hold up much better if given their own diaper bag compartment, rather than tossed in with all the rest of your stuff. Also, while they dissolve into goo, that goo is gross, and it is super sticky as it dries. Nothing a couple of baby wipes can't fix, and fortunately, the goo doesn't stain.

The nutrition information is not what is on the box. The box does not list skim milk powder as an ingredient but does say that the product may contain traces of milk. I tried giving it to my 6 month old. She liked chewing on the rusk and only gagged a couple of times. However, it must contain milk because she is milk-protein intolerant and had a rash on her face and behind that evening. Too bad I can't return the other 5 boxes.

These are great! The kids love them, very healthy for them and they are very convenient with very little crumbs to clean up. They don't turn into a soggy cooie or cracker. We ordered them have from Amazon (much cheaper and with super fast delivery) in each flavor they offer after trying them from a local grocery store. The kids seem to enjoy the banana and the strawbery the best, but they honestly go crazy as soon as they see the package come out of the cabinet. Highly recommended!!
