Freshfoods Cook-n-Blend Baby Food Maker

Freshfoods Cook-n-Blend Baby Food MakerCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program My resistance to getting a baby food maker like this was based on my fear of having a large, hard to clean appliance that would make a mess. I'm someone who hates speciality appliances, as I have a NYC kitchen.

I am very happy to say that this appliance is actually very small, and fits in a cabinet (although it doesn't take up too much space on the counter anyway). Think about 2 mugs sitting next to each other. It takes up about that much space. Also, it is very non-messy. You steam and blend in the same container, which is SMALL (the downside is, it won't work for someone who wants to make 20 meals at a time). Cleanup is easy. I would compare the mess and hassle to making coffee using a french press if you grind your own beans. It's about the same effort in my opinion, and the same mess.

Today I made organic sweet potatoes and carrots, and I ate half of it. Oops. That's ok I'm not big on freezing this is simple enough to make fresh every day. If you want to start REALLY easy, get a bag of baby carrots. For those, you can toss them straight from the bag into the basket.

How does it work:

Pour water in the tank

Put vegetables (or whatever) in the basket)

Press the "on" button and wait until it beeps, letting you know it's done

Come back, flip the basket over, in the same container that was used to steam

hold the dial in the "blend" position until it's blended as you wish

DONE

Now you can quickly rinse the container, and you're done. No mess. The no mess is really the thing I want to stress. I feel like most people who don't make their own baby food are worried more about the mess than the prep. It's easy to take a sweet potato out of the fridge and cut it into pieces. The hassle is in the cleanup, right? I can tell you there really is nothing to clean. It's easier than rinsing out a blender because it's so small.

Anyway one thing to mention more as an FYI than a downside to the machine ...

It's IMPOSSIBLE to open when you first get it. Seriously difficult. I was about to call the manufacturer because I thought the lid was welded shut. I came here to see if anyone addressed this in a review, but no one did. Then I looked back in the instruction booklet, and it mentioned "The lid may be difficult to open the first 2-3 uses." Ok well that gave me the confidence to use force along the lines of "I think this much force will break the whole thing." And when I did, the lid finally came off. It has loosened up and been easier to open in the times since. But just note that if you buy this, you may have a lot of trouble getting the lid off the first time. It's hard enough that they must have gotten some indication to know they need to let you know in the instruction booklet.

Aside from that, this is a fantastic little baby food maker. I highly recommend. The biggest pros are that it's small and no mess. If you were looking for something to make a dozen portions at a time though, this is too small for that.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Cook-n-Blend has a lot of utility for new parents and parents of toddlers but it is also quite useful as a kitchen appliance. It is a VERY handy and easy to use steamer that busy parents will appreciate. It also does make pureed baby food and a more chunky version. I've also used it for salsa with good results. And it has a smoothie blade. It is powerful enough to crush ice pretty well. But my favorite feature is the steamer.

Steaming food preserves a lot of nutrients. It also is usually a method that produces results that babies and toddlers like. This is just a fantastic steamer; tasty results and you can set it and go on to other kitchen tasks or whatever. You put water into a level the instruction book lists as appropriate for that vegetable. You then put the vegetables in. The machine heats the water and puts it under the basket. The basket also has a divider that is handy when you want to keep two things separate and save time. It also turns the machine off. The results have been uniformly pleasing to the whole family: soft, thoroughly done vegetables that are not mushy at all.

You then have a more traditional food processor. One setting purees and is very powerful. The other one leaves more chunks but is also pretty powerful. As I mentioned above you can use it for regular food processor chores. It also has a smoothie blade that has produced good results.

There is one very annoying design flaw. Nuk made it EXTREMELY hard to read the water level when you are steaming. I use a light app on my iPhone and I still can't tell where the water is. They should have made the level lines white but instead they are barely discernible. I also got a small cut unpacking the smoothie blade. It is very sharp and had gone through the plastic wrap. Just something to keep an eye out for.

This is a well-designed and very useful product. The recipes offer good combination, are fairly simple (although I don't need to skin tomatoes in my recipes something the author loves to recommend) and come in a nice spiral notebook. Here is the thing though: many people have steamers, many people have food processors. Is something that does both well worth getting?

I think it would make an excellent shower gift or first year gift. Things that allow you to walk away and not check on things are invaluable to parents of young ones. It also gets warm but not hot when steaming. But overall much safer than another pot of boiling water. There is always a space issue when you get a new kitchen appliance. The design really is compact for the size of the bowl. I do recommend it. Anyone giving or getting this for themselves will find a lot of utility.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I don't cook barely ever and I NEVER imagined I would be making my own baby food. However, after using this product a few times, I'm making it all the time! First I started off small and made "banana blueberry" recipe that came in the small book that was included with the baby food maker. If you can slice a banana and measure 1/3 cup of blueberries, you can make your own baby food. It steams for ~14 minutes and then you blend it. It's easy to clean dishwasher safe. Last night, my Mom made Sunday dinner that consisted of chicken, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and applesauce. Well, I took a little of everything and blended it up when I got home last night and made a 'chicken dinner' baby food. It's totally a hit! You can be quite flexible with the types of food that you make. There are some recipes for chicken sweet potato that involve steaming partially cooked chicken however, I prefer to add cooked chicken after the other items have been steamed, just to be sure it's fully cooked. The recipes included with this are from the "Top 100 Baby Purees" book, which we also own and never used until now! Now I am unstoppable :) And, I will say the food tastes so much better. My little guy is tearing it up, and my daughter is even eating the fruit purees like she would yogurt. Definitely a hit!

UPDATE: I bought 1 sweet potato for about 90 cents at the grocery story and this made about 4 jars of baby food. I also used baby carrots, cut them in thirds, and made food with those no peeling, no rinsing. (Like I said, I don't cook very often). And, I made a batch of apple/strawberry/blueberry that came out great. With some of the extra, I froze it into pops and my infant and toddler both loved them! My baby is teething and was refusing to eat any solid foods for a few days (of course, now that I was whipping them up like crazy!) but the popsicle went over great. You can make both big batches and smaller batches, and freeze whatever you don't plan to use within a few days.

I purchased this before there were any reviews and have owned it for about 6 months. I have now used it to make all my little guys meals. He has only had to have store bought baby food twice.

What I LOVE about this machine:

I do not have to pull anything extra out to cook with it. I peel, chop and throw in whatever I want to make. I add water depending on the fruit or veggie I add. I press the button, I walk away. In 13-17 mins it beeps. I usually wait to start and have waited up to 30 mins after it beeped to start making baby food (because I was wrapped up with a toddler and an infant) and the food is still steamy and happy when I get to it.

Yes you can do this on a stove top, yes you could use a blender.....BUT this takes up NO real extra room, I do not have to wash pots and pans, or a BLENDER, which I hate trying to wash those. It really is very simple to take the cook-n-blend apart I have not had any trouble cleaning it. Plus you lose nutrients on the stove top. This locks them in and you use the water you cook with to puree.

When I make baby food this is what I use, the basket from the machine, a knife, a measuring cup, a vegetable peeler and a rubber spatula. Everything I have made so far has made 12oz or more, I have a freezer full of ready to eat baby food. I have tasted everything and my toddler LOVED the sweet potato butternut squash mash I made. I pureed the rest and froze it for the baby.

What I didn't like about the machine:

It is hard to open at first, but with each use it gets easier.

The water level indicator is very hard to read, I just finally figured out how much water to put in a bottle to get it to the line I need without having to worry. 7oz gets it to the max line, and 5oz gets it to the second line, about 2oz gets it the first.

The book they send with the Nuk Cook-n-Blend is mostly stuff for older babies, not babies in stage one.

____

But I did find this website more than helpful when shopping for my baby's next meal http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com They also have a book out:The Wholesome Baby Food Guide: Over 150 Easy, Delicious, and Healthy Recipes from Purees to Solids

So far we have made, Sweet Potatoes, Butternut Squash, Sweet Potatoes and Butternut Squash, Carrots, Apples, Pear, Apples and Pears, and Green Beans.

So I have 2 kidsa 4 yr old and 7 month old. I bought this after researching several makers.I will start by saying this does a great job making baby food. It is easy to useput the water in as instructed (they DEF NEED to make the water line easier to read though!!), put in your chopped fruits/veg and push the button. When it's done it beeps and you need to grab a measuring cup or mug to reserve the "steaming" water so you can add some back to the food you are then going to puree. Pretty easy to clean. The thing is this does not make much at once. I used I apple and 1 pear together and that was about all I could steam and it made two 4oz serving. It took 17 min to steam the food. So, do the mathIn one hour I could make 8 cont. of food. Maybe if I didn't work and have an older child as well I could see making the food this like this but for me it's just not that practical. I can just as easily steam a whole bunch of stuff (or bake) at once then throw it in a blender and have more. The unit itself is also a pretty good sizeyet another appliance on the counter.... But if you can commit yourself to making food every other day then this may be perfect! Also it says you can reheat and defrost but I didn't see how that would work as the basket has a piece in the middle that doesn't remove so I don't understand that part and it didn't say anything about it in the directions.

Nuby 3 Pack Soft Edge Spoon, Colors May Vary

Nuby 3 Pack Soft Edge Spoon, Colors May VaryI love these spoons! I had quite a few different types of spoons and these are my favorite. They seem to have the perfect shape, length, and texture. My baby loved to rub his gums on the spoons when he was teething and when he did get his teeth, they're not soft enough to make teeth marks. The spoon changes colors when it's hot, which is a very helpful feature. My baby is 13 months old and I have been using these since he was 4 months old. The only negative thing I can think of (which is hardly worth mentioning) is that the end of the spoon gets stained (since they're white) when you feed your baby carrots or sweet potatoes, pureed. I actually got rid of all of my other spoons and replaced them with new Nuby spoons because I love them so much!

This spoon was great, I was looking for something other than the traditional metal spoon dipped in plastic because I did not want to worry about getting the part where the plastic meets the spoon meticulously clean. That's just yucky to me I never feel they are really clean. An added bonus has been that because it is made of soft plastic all around my son uses it during teething days and he just won't let go! Of course you have to watch the baby or they'll gag. The only reason that it did not get 5 stars is that the heat indicator color in the middle takes a looooong time to respond and when my son sees food there's no taking my time!

Well, again I am pleased with Nuby. These spoons are much better than the metal Gerber ones that are practically flat, so the food just falls off onto the bib. These have the perfect sized and shaped little bowl on the spoon that is just right for feeding your little one. Plus, they do change color with heat, a big plus.

They will stain, as will anything plastic, but plastic booster for the washer helps with that.

While it may be unfair to compare a mass-produced, plastic (BPA-free!) spoon with the hand-forged spoons of the Ancient Romans, the golden spoons of medieval kings or even display-case demitasse spoons featuring tiny pewter eagles alighting on the handle or other such collectible spoon frippery; the Nuby Soft Edge Spoon nonetheless holds a firm place in the parent's spoon arsenal (placing just behind wooden spoons that serve as a drumsticks for impromptu kitchen jam sessions).

The size of the bowl of the spoon is nearly perfect for small mouths that are just beginning to learn about the whole eating thing. As advertised, the spoons are soft enough for tiny gums and for scraping up drips on chins. The temperature indicator is very helpful. Although the long handles make the spoon easier to use, be warned that they also invite karate chops from flailing hands that will send a glop of food catapult-style onto your wall or ceiling.

As other reviewers have noted, orange foods (carrots, sweet potato, Cheetos, etc.) will stain the white parts of the spoon. If this bothers you, imagine a future archaeological excavation deriving from your long-abandoned Nuby spoon the dietary habits of early Man. "They lived in desperate times," the professor will say, "food had to be grown, shipped, purchased, prepared and inserted into facial orifice #7 instead of mashed and beamed directly into the digestive tract by our robot-farm-slaves: see how the food product has left a residue on the eating implement." Cue "ahhs" from amazed students.

All-in-all, a good spoon considering the competition.

My son has been using the Gerber spoons until someone gave us these as a gift. He loves these. The shape of the spoon tip fit in his mouth better and are more practical for more watery foods. They will be perfect when he starts to self-feed.

Kids Sport Bottle 15oz

Baby/Toddler Sport BottleThis is a great little bottle! I got it for my 3-yr old daughter about 2 weeks ago and she loves it! It's very well made, doesn't leak or anything. It's a very cute bottle, perfect size for toddlers who have outgrown sippy cups but still need something with a lid to carry around without spilling everywhere. One thing I was afraid of was that the spout would be hard to pull out for a 3yr old, as many sports bottles tend to be. But the spout on this one comes out so easily for her, and stays in place when closed/opened. I definitely recommend this product! A++!

My daughter loves this water bottle, looks great, doesn't leak and is super easy to wash. Would highly recommend this water bottle.

Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Diapers, Stage 2 (12-18 Lbs.), 40 Count (Pack of 4)

Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Diapers, Stage 2, 40 CountI LOVE these diapers. My son spent 8 days in the NICU after birth, and came home with, among other things, horrible diaper rash. We'd already puchased the Seventh Generation newborn size, and after a couple of days, his diaper rash was so much better. We've continued to use the Seventh Generation diapers and find them more than comparable to other brands (and they're 10000X better than the Whole Foods generic version -someone bought us a pack of those and they are HORRIBLE -always leaking or blowing out qith the slightest amount of baby poo in it). Our son is long and skinny, so these diapers fit him great, and the redesign is definitely for the better. People, from our family and friends to our doctors are always asking about the diapers, and I always have great things to say! I love that they're chlorine free and biodegradeable, and honestly I like that they're just plain brown without a ton of little cartoon characters all over them. And with Amazon's Subscribe and Save, we're saving at least $3 a package -so that's $12 a shipment, plus the gas to drive 20 minutes to the nearest store that carries them, vs. having them delivered to the door FREE. I'm in love with these diapers, and with Amazon's amazing service!

My wife and I have been using Seventh Generation diapers without any problems since our son was born. Up until now we've been very happy with them. We re-ordered a case this month and received our shipment and noticed that the design of the diapers had changed. They are now thinner, have less elastic and don't fit as snug around the waist or legs. We didn't know there would be an issue until we started using them. Within 24 hours, we had had 3 wet blowouts. We thought it might have been user error so we tried again. Unfortunately, the Seventh Generation diapers we came to know and love are no more. Since the design change, we have at least 1-3 wet blowouts a day, which makes for a lot more laundry and a lot more mess. I'm very sad about this and will now look to a different product for my diapering needs.

I love Seventh Gen. as a company and these diapers!! They have minimally leaked and only because of the enormous amounts that my daughter creates... otherwise, fantastic!

These are the best diapers I have used for my little one. She has very sensitive skin, and other brands (including store brands) seem to bother her skin. I also like that they are not perfume-y like other diapers, and they are not covered in cartoon pictures.

We tried several different diaper and wipe combinations to help our daughter's diaper rash. Seventh Generation diapers are our top pick. They have great leak guard protection that keep my baby dry without irritating her skin. While she does just fine in Pampers now, we choose to use Seventh Generation because it is a more natural diaper that is gentler on her skin and the environment. We found these diapers far superior to Earth's Best in comfort and coverage (though we LOVE their wipes). As other reviewers have mentioned, Seventh Generation diapers do run a bit smaller than Pampers though Seventh Generation size 1 worked well for us up to 12 lbs. We are now using size 2 and are just as pleased with their fit.

Plum Organics Mish Mash, Strawberry, 3.17-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 16)

Plum Organics Mish Mash, Strawberry, 3.17-Ounce PouchesGranted, these are a little expensive, but they are very convenient for feeding while out and about or when you don't want to run the risk of food getting everywhere. We like that they are pure fruit and organic. Our son thinks they taste good and likes to suck on them. The novelty is nice. I wouldn't buy them to eat all the time because of the cost, but when you are in a hurry or on the run, they are super-helpful.

My 7 month old has just started eating the strawberry Mish Mash and loves it. I find the packaging so easy and even though I make 90% of her baby food myself this is a great supplement.

I would recommend this for older babies. My daughter's doctor said because she has been doing so well with solids we could start her on this but usually they don't eat strawberries until later.

We absolutely love these. My son (11 months) would never eat processed baby food. I tried many different kinds--organic, fruit, vegetables, different brands, jarred, non-jarred, meats, etc. I gave up and started just giving him "real" food diced up in teeny tiny pieces. A friend of mine had these and said her baby and toddler both loved them so I decided to give them a try. I ordered using the Subscribe and Save option to save money, assuming and hoping my kids would love them and they do! My son smiles when he sees me grab one from our pantry and immediately opens his mouth like a bird. Makes me laugh. My 3 year old likes them too, especially if they're cold. She can just grab one from the fridge and suck on them after playing outside for a refreshing and healthy snack. The S&S option makes them much more affordable, and the free shipping is an added bonus. There is a wide range of flavors to choose from, and we'll be trying them all.

Plum Organics Baby Food, Blueberry, Pear & Purple Carrot, 4.22-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 24)

Plum Organics Baby Food, Blueberry, Pear & Purple Carrot, 4.22-Ounce PouchesPlum Organics is probably the best option we've found for prepackaged foods. We've tried a lot of the flavors and our baby just loves them. Combine her love for them with the actual ingredients and we're quite happy.

The only thing I wish, and perhaps this will change with future choices from Plum, is that fruit wasn't the first ingredient in all their Stage 2 foods. That said, it's better than sugar or something unpronounceable.

I buy every available flavor of these for my grandson as he eats them for snack. They are delicious and a great 'pack and go' treat that is easy for him to eat by himself. They are very easy at his age to manipulate without adult help (he has been eating them since one year, about 6 months now) and very neat so no dribble or clean up issues! They are about the right amount for one fairly hungry little guy or two snacks if he is just needing a little boost. And because they are fruits and vegetables, without any undesirable chemicals added, it is a safe and clean treat! Delightful! We would probably have loved them had we discovered them even earlier...but their utility goes far beyond the 'soft food' stage! He is otherwise eating/chewing all regular food and loves these packets I cut open and recycle!

I don't have any children that I know of. These are for me, and they are super yum. But I'm not just draining these pouches all willy-nilly. This is largely a post-workout recovery drink.

It's like a little smoothie so you get some yummy fast acting carbohydrates to replenish your glycogen stores, as well as some vitamins from the fruit. Price wise there are cheaper post-workout solutions but you get what you pay for. Plus, these are a fun/awkward conversation starter with that cute girl in the lululemon workout gear. She's all like "ew, why are you eating baby food?" and you're like "I'm not eating baby food, I'm drinking it. I don't have a kid though, seriously. Want to go out sometime? We could get dinner and have adult food."

The Spoon-Z Infant and Baby Feeding Spoon

The Spoon-Z Infant and Baby Feeding SpoonMy 9 month old refuses to let me spoon feed him. He keeps his mouth clothes, grabs the spoon and plays with it. He prefers to self-feed. This spoon is pricey but worth it. My son will grab the spoon and chew on the ends. It is his new favorite toy. Perfect if the ends are filled with food. At least with this spoon he will eat a few bites purees and mush now (hard to take it out of his hands to refill... but I'm going to get a couple more so I can swap them out). With other spoons, he usually will get the un-loaded end into his mouth. With this spoon, either end will work. Also with the deep spoon, more gets delivered to the mouth instead of falling out as he maneuvers it to his mouth. Yes, mealtimes are messy... but it's easy enough to clean up with the phil-and-ted clamp on seat and the summer infant place-mats. Everything just gets dumped into the sink.

The Z-Spoon does exactly what the description says...of course you are going to have messes when your toddler is learning to feed himself. He seems to make it to his mouth alot easier than with a regular childs spoon. The rubber like texture is wonderful also. If he does miss his mouth and instead hits his gums or the roof of his mouth it doesnt hurt. Will be purchasing more of these soon. Anything that makes my life and his easier I'm all for it!!!

This juice is one of my baby's favorites. I used to buy the 4oz bottles but this is way cheaper. I like the fact that 4oz gives her a serving of fruits. The max amount of juice that babies should drink in a day is 4oz, so I fill up a bottle with equal parts of water and juice and let her drink it with her meals throughout the day. In between I also give her plenty of plain water.

When my much older children were little, Gerber sold a sweet potato juice they loved! Go Vitamin A! Gerber has changed their offerings many times over the years giving this particular item ingredient and name changes. My daughter adjusts to the changes, but will prefer this juice over all others. And now when her friends come over, they leave telling their parents, "I love carrot juice!" Unfortunately fewer and fewer stores are caring the item as the Gerber line continues to change and update . I was so glad to find it still available on Amazon. Try it. I think you will be surprised and your own child's response.

Seventh Generation Free and Clear Baby Diapers, Packaging May Vary

Seventh Generation Free & Clear DiapersI just want to make sure everyone realizes what's happening here. The old Stage 3 Subscribe & Save package was for 4 boxes of 35 diapers (140 diapers). Those boxes haven't been sold in stores in months. Seventh Generation switched to 31-diaper boxes that supposedly fit better and velcro together better. Doubtful. Regardless, this value pack is for 155 diapers, which is now 5 boxes of 31 diapers, instead of 4. At my local grocery store, a single box of 31 diapers costs $13-$14. That means a 5-pack of those boxes at retail price would be $65-$70. The Subscribe & Save price is $40. That's a fantastic deal, in my mind. It's still more expensive per diaper than the old deal, but that's because Amazon eventually was going to run out of boxes of the old diapers that they had stockpiled. Now that they are forced to buy the new Seventh Generation packages, it will be a bit pricier.

We used these diapers for the last year-and-a-half. We recently received a new shipment. After one day, we quickly realized that the diaper was very different.

The first night using the newly-formulated diaper it failed and did not withhold urine from getting all over the toddler and bed. This was the first time this had happened in four or five months,

The next day, we realized that what at first appeared to be the diaper disintegrating all over the child were actually the chemical liner forming beads on the child's skin leading to redness. In 17 months of using the prior formulation, this had never happened.

Clearly, 7th Generation has been re-formulating (while concurrently increasing their prices) to cut costs and increase profits at the expense of the consumer. They have changed the packaging to be more striking, perhaps to obscure the fact that the contents are now so inferior.

I am returning these products (along with the terrible, newly formulated baby wipes) and moving on to another brand.

If you have an existing subscription beware you will not be receiving the product that you signed up for originally.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We cloth diaper during the day but use disposables at night and camping or long roadtrips. I would not buy any other brand but Seventh Generation! They disclose all of their ingredients (including the fact that the diapers are actually brownish in color because they add a brown pigment, not because of the fact that they do not use chlorine bleach, although that is also true) and the purpose behind each. The company is always striving to lighten their footprint and this new design is awesome! It's redesigned core uses less of the wood pulp. The resulting diaper is much thinner. We miss the cushiony feel of the puffier design. I noticed absolutely no difference in absorbancy..my 15month old can wear one all night without leaking a bit! The new design seems longer/taller so you have to be careful to get the diaper on straight, otherwise the possibility for leaking is there. The company also states that the redesigned core results in more efficent absorbing, but do not make mention if they've increased the amount of Sodium Polyacrylate (SAP), the absorbing gel. My guess is yes. I have noticed gel crystals stuck to her bottom on occasion, which neverused to happen. That bothers me but I can say it's been much worse in other brands, including Whole Foods private label brand which ALWAYS left the SAP beads stuck to her, even if she only peed once in the diaper. Just recently it seems they've changed their design again. I can tell they're cutting corners on the stretchy tabs. A few years ago, they were a dream, but now they're a pain. I've had them tear off on multiple occasions, rendering the diaper useless.

So, yes, the new design is money saving for the company and a tad disappointing but, this is still the best option we've found.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I do prefer the packaging of the 135 pack as it's somewhat more sustainable and much easier to store (slide right under the crib). I would love to use 7th generation diapers exclusively and I do feel that the put a lot into the consistency of the products.

I have looked at these diapers as an alternative to conventional disposables for sometime (day care won't let us use our cloth diapers there). I have been skeptical of the Seventh Generation products because I didn't want to pay for a product that was going to perform poorly in comparison to my normal diapers (I have always gone with Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers and have loved them). After using these diapers around the clock here are mine (and my wife's) observations.

Fit: They fit great compared to the normal diapers we use. My daughter is 25 lbs and she fits snugly in size 4 with no leaks.

Smell: Some of the other reviewers complained about a weird smell, but we have both found that the mask the pee smell better than our usual diapers

Absorbency: These work great. We haven't had any blowouts and we have had zero leaks with overnight use.

Irritation: We have noticed less irritation and diaper rash as a result of these diapers.

General ease of use: I found them to be less bulky and easier to put on than standard diapers. I also found that the baby had more room in her outfits without the normal bulk and she seems to be able to wiggle her legs more.

I rated them a 4 instead of 5 simply because of the price. I am going to have a hard time justifying the additional expenditure, but I do feel that Seventh Generation offers a superior product here. I will say that I was disappointed to find out that the off-white color is a result of dying and that they are still a bleached paper product (they just use a different chemical process this is stated on the bottom of the bag).

Ugh, I have used these diapers for all three of my kids over the past 8 years. I am very familiar with how they should perform in all sizes. I just ordered a new case, size 4, through Amazon and immediately noticed big changes. First, the tabs are smaller (feel shorter) and now they do not secure the waist like the past diapers. The last case of size 4, the tabs could touch and I just finished up using them. This now causes the diaper to sag and gap, especially in the rear. Also, the material inside the diaper gets all bunched up, causing the diaper to sag in between my son's legs after just a couple of hours. Since my son is over 2, he can usually wear a diaper longer, but, with these you have to change them every 2-3 hours, soiled or not, because the sag is so heavy and the diaper is so bunchy. If he is active or sweaty, it bunches even faster. If you try them you will know what I mean. I noticed it right away. Seriously considering returning these. Will not be buying them ever again unless they switch back to the old version. So disappointing because I have been using these for years with great success in the past. And btw, I never write reviews, but, I am so unhappy with these, I had to share.

The First Years 6 Pack Ziploc Snacks To Go

The First Years 6 Pack Ziploc Snacks To GoI bought this to carry snacks and formula for my 9 month old and I wanted different sizes. Although the set comes with a mix of 2sizes, the lids are horrible. The twist on threading is too tight/not finished well. Its neither a twist on nor a snap shut lid. A bit of both is a bad idea. In addition the snack box itself is bendable, so you cannot get a grip to twist off the lid open. I tried for 10 minutes and finally just pulled open the Lid by deforming the box. the colors are pretty and the size is what i wanted, but that's about it. It would have been perfect if I could actually get it to work for me.

One thing they got right is that the baby cannot open it (if I cannot, I don't think my son can).

Save yourself some time, Search for other products!

The threading on these is horrible, every single one. The small ones are the worst. Try and screw it tightly shut, and it can be impossible to open. I think I'm just going to toss these, I really hate them.

I've been using these for more than a year now. My first set was a gift from my mom and then I came back for more.

You can push the lid in to take out some of the air and create some vacuum inside (less air, less food decay). They're good in the freezer, good in the microwave. The lid is semi-transparent so you can figure out what's inside most of the time. We've used them for all situations: storage, feeding, freezing, traveling. Even for us (mom and dad) to have some desserts or small portions of food.

I highly recommend them. They have never leaked either!

ONE THING TO KNOW: colors will vary. My set came green and yellow. That was not important for me, but I could be for you, so I hope this helps you decide wether to buy or not to buy this set.

I like how they screw on so that little hands can't take the lids off. I haven't yet used them in the microwave.
