Gerber Yogurt Blends, 4-Count, 3.5-Ounce Cups (Pack of 6)

Gerber Yogurt Blends, Simply Peach, 4-Count, 3.5-Ounce CupsMy 1 year old son loves this banana yogurt! It doesn't taste like other baby foods and I'll be honest, I'd eat a cup of it if I had to.

My 9.5-month-old son loves every food we've given him. When he reached 9 months we added these yogurts to the menu, and he absolutely adores them. I love the fact that they don't have to be refrigerated, so are easy to toss in the diaper bag, use when we're out and about, etc. I wish they didn't have any sugar in addition to what naturally occurs in milk and fruit, but they're still better than pudding (that's why I didn't rate them 5 stars). I'm so happy to see them available on Subscribe & Save because our local grocery store charges $3.49/four-pack and we go through a four-pack every week. The only thing I wish they'd make is a variety pack so that I didn't have to get six four-packs of all the same flavor. Oh, and I hope Amazon will start carrying the pear flavor, too. (Can someone explain to me why the peach is 25 cents cheaper per four-pack than the banana?)

My little one LOVES these yogurt blends snacks! It's sweet and creamy but so much healthier compared to so many other snacks since these have real fruit and cultured whole milk yogurt to aid in digestion, etc. It also requires no refrigeration, which makes it so handy to take along or keep in my diaper bag.

This product contains 13 separate ingredients including thickening agents like Tapioca Starch and the preservative Citric Acid (which can trigger reflux in babies). It even contains more added sugar than it does peaches (quite rich for a product called `simply peach'!)

Amazon offers good price for this yogurt blend ,i love this because my daughter loves to eat it and even if she is full she can not resist. If she is not eating anything else and i have one of these in pantry i just grab it and she eats it without resisting.

Gerber Cereal with DHA, 8-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6)

Gerber Cereal, Rice Single Grain, 8-Ounce CanistersWhether or not it's right for you is up to you and your pediatrician to decide. We began adding it to our son's formula at 2 months because of health related issues. We currently use 1 scoop (scoop from Gerber formula can) of rice to 2 scoops of formula, and 4-5 oz of water. It mixes exceptionally well and is not "goopy" nor does it leave "rice-sludge" at the bottom of the bottle after feeding.

We love this, and buy it over the box cereal every time now. Even our daycare has commented on how much they like this over the traditional flakes of rice cereal. The can fits better in the pantry than the box, and is much cleaner since it isn't leaking flakes from the corners and the fold down spout. The cans stack easily, and are the same size and shape as Gerber's formula cans.

We initially purchased this from my wife's work, and when they ran out we switched back to box rice. It's cheaper from Amazon than it is at the local grocery stores. We're switching back to the can.

Pros

-It contains DHA to boost development.

-Dissolves better; its more of a powder than the flakes you get in the box of Gerber rice cereal.

-Because it dissolves better it is easier for the infant to drink, and easier to clean the bottle after feeding (large undissolved flakes don't clog the bottle).

-Packaging is much cleaner than the boxes of rice cereal available from Gerber.

Cons

-It's not Vegan (if you care, I don't, but some other posters obviously do).

-It does not come with a scoop. This is only a very minor inconvenience, as we, like the other poster, used the scoop from the can of Gerber formula that we use.

I highly recommend this product.

Very good deal when Subscribe and Save which we have delivered every 1-2 months.

Oatmeal DHA Cereal is not easy to find. Not available in most stores like Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Target, etc. I don't know why they carry the DHA Rice, but not the DHA Oatmeal Cereal.

Oatmeal Cereal my son eats mixed with breast milk and has no constipation issues like he had with the Rice. He started this cereal at 4 months old. Now he's 11 months. Really enjoys eating this still.

The 8 ounce canisters are better packed than box cereal I've opened. I will definitely keep feeding him this.

This is a great additive to my daughters formula. It keeps her filled up more than formula alone. The can is very handy, only wish they had included a scoop. I just use the scoop from the formula can and it works great too. This is much easier to measure and a lot less messy than the box rice and oatmeal cereals!

Seriously, how does a baby cereal touted as a good choice as a first baby food contain these big NO-NO ingredients?! How can it be labeled as "single grain"? There's no reason "oat flour" should contain wheat... I bought this thinking I could avoid supplementing with probiotics & dha... should have read more closely before purchasing.. Forget it, I'm going back to simply grinding up my own oatmeal.. sick of over paying for 'baby' cereal anyways...

Want Gerber Cereal with DHA, 8-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6) Discount?

My son loves this oatmeal, and we go through it so quickly that I'm glad to be able to order it in a pack of six canisters. I've previously bought this same product in boxes, and the canister design works so much better than the boxes. With the boxes, I always felt that I was having to throw away the last several tablespoons, because the packaging was so poorly designed. The canisters work well, and they can double as a cheap toy when the oatmeal is gone.

The taste seems to be good (though I often add some cinnamon for good measure), and I'm glad to know my son is getting DHA in his regular diet. Those with food allergy concerns should be aware that this product contains B Lactis cultures.

KONNET SoftJAC Protection Pack 5-in-1 Pack for Dsi - Clearance Sales

KONNET SoftJAC Protection Pack 5-in-1 Pack for Dsi - Clearance SalesThis case was purchased to hold my daughter's DS lite. The DS fits in it snugly. It is easy for her to get her DS in and out. The zippers closes smoothly. There is not a lot of extra space in the case. She usually just carries two extra games and an extra stylus. I haven't tried but you probably couldn't get more than 3 or 4 games in the case with the DS.

I got this for my daughters bday and her DSI is tooo big for it. The games fit so we use it for her games.

Bambu 5-1/2-Inch Kids Utensils, Natural

Bambu 5-1/2-Inch Kids Utensils, NaturalI got these for my one-year-old, and he began using them with more success than with any other utensil. His 3-year-old brother immediately wanted some of his own. The wide handle is so easy for them to grip, and makes spilling less of a problem.

I had such high hopes for these. Unlike other reviewers have stated, the tines are not sharp or dangerous in my opinion. Rather, they are too dull to stab most food effectively. They seemed like a great way to have environmentally and health friendly utensils for my kids, but now I wish I hadn't bothered. The spoon is useful, but between the dullness and the difficulty in cleaning, the forks are pretty worthless for us.

Love the spoon. It's perfect! But why do they include a fork which is really just a spoon with slots in it? Why not two spoons? Still, happy we got it and it beats plastic.

Fantastic! My daughter [who is 5 and just started Kindergarten] uses these daily in her lunch at school & for snacks! She loves them. I use them to teach our daughters about sustainable resources and recycling, etc. They LOVE helping the environment [youngest is 3] BOTH use them easily: for peaches, yogurt, applesauce, ETC.

No issues gripping or anything. They wash perfectly in the dishwasher or handwash.

All-in-all great buy and will purchase again for sure!

I bought these utensils along with the wooden feeding spoon and bowl set by Munchkin. Had I not purchased the bowl and spoon set, I may have given these utensils a higher rating. The Munchkin set is of superior quality and is easier for my son to manipulate the Munchikn spoonit is skinner and the feeding trough (the bowl part of the spoon)is deeper and not so wide. In all, he is a cleaner eater without this set. Have not used the fork yet as my son is too young to use it. We now use the Bambu spoon as a wooden teething toy.

Kiinde Kozii

Kiinde KoziiWe needed to heat frozen breastmilk-filled bags, refrigerated plastic breastmilk-filled bottles, and room temperature glass formula-filled bottles. This warmer does an excellent job of heating all 3 without the guesswork. At first we were just microwaving a mug of water, but this is far easier, exact, and we always know when the bottle is warmed. It also shuts off when it's done heating, so it's not dangerous, and you don't have to measure the water every time you use it, which is a common complaint about other warmers. Do your future sleep-deprived self a favor and get one!

i wish i would have saved (my MIL) the money. :(

first the pros: i purchased this warmer specifically because i read in other reviews it fit the Comotomo bottles and i can confirm that it does indeed accommodate them. it's also a nice, modern looking little gadget.

as of now, i'm glad it's small and nice looking because all that it's doing is taking up counter space. first, although it fits the Comotomo bottles, the Comotomo bottles are thick, squishy plastic it takes at least 15-20 min to warm milk in a Comotomo with the Kiinde Kozii. to resolve the issue i began heating milk in the Medela bottles i received with my breast pump which cut down considerably on the time (8-10 minutes). now, if the breast milk was frozen, again heating the milk was a pain especially if it was over 3 ounces.

additionally, checking the milk was an issue. once the warmer is, well... warming, and at 3 am your fussy, hungry baby is getting more and more impatient you begin to get a bit impatient and must take the bottle out to see if, by some miracle, it's finally warmed. since it's probably not, you want to put it back in the warmer although the instructions say not to... and why do they say not to? because it will overflow. not enough to make a huge mess but enough to make you worry about the fact that it's plugged into an electrical outlet. and you can't just reset it it has to go through the whole cycle before the water goes down and you can put the bottle back in.

overall, it just takes too dang long to heat up. i can throw some water in a Pyrex dish, nuke it for 2 minutes, place a bottle in the heated water for another 2 minutes and BAM! warm milk in a bottle. easy, peasy and mess-free.

i think if time isn't an issue for you, it's probably a good warmer. but we're the type of parents (and my son is the type of baby) that needs quicker results than the Kiinde Kozii can offer.

Buy Kiinde Kozii Now

I always do a lot of research before buying anything. Sometimes, too much research... But I like to buy the best and always want to find a 'deal'. My research on the best bottle warmer brought me to the Kiinde Kozii.

I bought it and was incredibly happy with it. It was a 'deal' in spite of the premium price over other bottle warmers, because it was just so good and convenient (while it worked). I purchased it a month before our baby was born, and so we've only really used it for a total of 2 months at this point. Like I said, it was easy to use, convenient, and we all really liked it even our nanny was a fan. It does take a bit longer to warm up the milk than if you use a microwave but that's the whole point! To warm up the milk in a safe manner.

The problem we ran into is that, out of nowhere, the timer just started getting stuck around the two minute mark. This doesn't happen every time, which makes it even more frustrating because it's completely unpredictable. The whole point of the timer is to set it and forget it, so that you can be with your baby changing diapers, soothing, or doing whatever you need to do while the bottle is warming and once it's ready: "ding!" you know you can start the feeding. But if the timer gets stuck, the bottle just sits there getting warmer and warmer. If your baby isn't screaming his head off for milk, it's easy to let that warmer go... And by the time you realize the timer has gotten stuck, you are left with an overheated bottle, milk that's too hot to use, and a hungry baby that now needs to wait even longer to eat while you prepare the next bottle.

Overall, I would have given this 5 stars if we hadn't run into any issues. If you get this warmer and it works for you, then you should love it. But after an issue like this on our unit, I am returning the product. On that front, customer service has been stellar.

I originally considered this one of those unnecessary baby purchases, but after a week of being up at night with baby, and having to wait 15ish minutes to warm a bottle the old fashioned way (boil water, sit bottle in pot), I added this to my cart. Even 5 minutes less of baby crying for her bottle made this a worthwhile purchase, it feels much safer to use when I am half awake at night, and gives me a bottle at a consistent temp every time. It also has a small footprint, which keeps your kitchen from looking like a baby store blew up in it.

I only took off one star because the usage instructions state that if you fill it up with too little water, it will automatically shut off. This would be fine if you could reset it and get it working again, except that it only allows you to do reset 2-3 times (can't recall). Apparently, after the 3rd time, the manual states it will stop working permanently. I can understand the safety reasons behind this, but would've appreciated knowing this before I made my purchase.

Nonetheless, this is still my first pick for a warmer.

Want Kiinde Kozii Discount?

This is a great little device. It makes warming the bottle easy as we all know there is enough going on without worrying about formula temp. I have tried other products at less than $60 and have been disappointed. With this thing you don't have to constantly refill the water, don't have to worry about overheating, and don't need to constantly unplug. Just set the dial to the time and wait. This fits thee Tommee Tippee bottles.

Babys Only Organic Dairy Formula Case

Babys Only Organic Dairy Formula CaseMY QUESTION FOLLOWED BY THEIR REPLY VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Hey guys,

So we are trying to feed a new born as much breast milk as we can, however there is not enough to meet his nutritional needs.

So a formula is in order as a supplement. With that, we are interested in your toddler formula, and it appears that since this meets the FDA Infant Formula Guidelines, that it should be safe, (and opinions on the Internet seem to feel the same way). However, our doctor says that it should not be used because of the higher amounts of calcium and phosphorous. He was also concerned about using the DHA/ARA supplement with concerns about the egg white process and that the proteins in egg whites are not good for an infant. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

THEIR ANSWER

Dear Dave,

Thank you for contacting Nature's One®. Firstly, you are correct in that our Baby's Only Organic® formulas meet the nutritional requirements of the FDA's Infant Formula Act. No dilution is needed for babies under 12 months of age. Please follow label mixing instructions.

Regarding the calcium and phosphorous content in Baby's Only Organic® formulas, calcium is an essential nutrient needed for bone health. The American Academy of Pediatrics Expert Panel for Nutrient Levels in Infant Formula has provided recommendations on the amount of calcium with the minimum per 100 Calories being 50 milligrams and the maximum being 140 milligrams per 100 Calories. Phosphorus is another important mineral for bone health. The Expert Panel has also recommended that the calcium to phosphorus ratio in an infant formula be no less than 1.1 or more than 2.0. Baby's Only Organic® falls within these ranges with our calcium at 135 milligrams per 100 Calories and a calcium to phosphorus ratio of 1.5.

Reference: Committee on Nutrition, Pediatric Nutrition Handbook, The American Academy of Pediatrics, 2009, pages 1245-1246.

The balance between calcium and phosphorus is most important for bone development. The calcium to phosphorus ratio in both Baby's Only Organic® formula and Enfamil NextStep is 1:5. Thus, Baby's Only Organic® formulas provide an appropriate ratio of calcium and phosphorus for toddlers and an appropriate overall quantity of calcium and phosphorus.

Regarding our Baby's Only Essentials® DHA/ARA supplement, The DHA utilized in our Baby's Only Essentials® DHA & ARA supplement is sourced from egg yolk phospholipids. You are probably aware that most often an egg allergy is caused by the egg white rather than the yolk. Additionally, it is the protein component of foods that usually elicit an allergic reaction. Because we use the phospholipids (not protein) from the egg yolk, there is only a very minute chance that an allergic response will ensue.

If your child has a history of allergies, we highly recommend that you consult your child's healthcare provider.

DHA is also found naturally in other foods, including oily fish like trout, sardines, tuna and salmon and the yolk of eggs. Dietary ARA is available from animal meats, dairy foods, eggs, peanuts and nori seaweed. As your child increases the variety of foods in her diet, you can include some of these foods in her diet. Other natural sources of DHA would include fish oil or fish oil supplements. Unfortunately, it is difficult to insure that these are free from mercury or other environmental toxins. But, also remember that these fatty acids can be formed from dietary linoleic and linolenic acids (nuts, seeds, grains legumes, vegetables and their cold-pressed oils). By including good sources of high quality fats in the diet, your child will easily be able to meet her specific needs

Most egg allergies are a result of ingestion of egg white; egg yolk allergies are rare.

Proteins are the component of foods that cause allergic reactions. Egg allergy is usually due to the proteins in the egg white. These protein allergens are: ovomucoid, ovalbumin, ovotransferrin; lysozyme, and ovomucin.

However, there can be a rare situation of egg yolk allergy. The literature to date usually associates egg yolk allergy to a reaction triggered by inhaled bird allergen, referred to as Bird-egg syndrome. This is a very rare syndrome.

Egg allergy can also be seasonal. Oak pollen, short and western ragweed and the goosefoot family of weeds may cross react with eggs when these pollens are in season.

The estimated point prevalence of egg allergy in children is 1.6% by 2.5 years of age. (1) Again, egg white is usually the cause of an egg allergy. Most children outgrow an allergy to eggs by 5 years of age.

(1) Eggesbo M, Botten G, Halvorsen R, Magnus P, "The prevalence of allergy to egg: a population-based study in young children," Allergy 56; 5:403

I hope this information is helpful to you. Thank you for your interest in Baby's Only Organic® formulas. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,

Lori

Nature's One Inc.

It's so nice that it's not filled with things that should just NOT be in formula.

No ingredients are purchased from China.

Contains no palm oil.

I also am impressed that they don't use corn syrup to sweeten their formulas. It's brown rice syrup which is a better carbohydrate than most use.

In response to no added DHA/ARA this is found on their website so it is not lacking.. and who wants DHA/ARA made by martex which is derived from laboratory-grown fermented algae and fungus and processed utilizing a toxic chemical, hexane anyway?

Baby's Only Organic® pediatric formulas contain two essential (precursor) fats: Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA) and Linoleic Acid (LA). Alpha-Linolenic and Linoleic fatty acids are called "essential" because the human body cannot make these fats and therefore it is essential to derive them from food sources. Alpha-Linolenic Acid is an omega-3 used by the body to make Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA). Linoleic Acid is an omega-6 used by the body to make Arachidonic Acid (ARA). DHA and ARA are called "non-essential" fatty acids because full-term, healthy infants, children, and adults can manufacture these from Alpha-Linolenic and Linoleic fatty acids.

Buy Babys Only Organic Dairy Formula Case Now

Just to clear up some confusion here is the quote from the manufacture's website:

"Baby's Only Organic® Dairy-based Toddler Formula contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA), the fatty acid precursors for Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Arachidonic acid (ARA)."

Conversion of ALA and LA by the body to the more active longer-chain metabolites is inefficient: 2-5% for DHA. So while adding ALA to your child's diet is helpful it is not a complete substitute for the ARA and DHA found in breast milk (of course no formula can match breast milk).

If you want to use this brand of formula you should consider adding DHA and ARA some other way. This same company makes a supplement called "Baby's Only Essentials® DHA & ARA" and there are others on the market.

We Loved the formula for our daughter. We supplemented my breastmilk with this from 6 wks to a year. It smelled much better than other formulas. I would highly recomend it. We had a nice plump, healthy, smart, organic baby!

Want Babys Only Organic Dairy Formula Case Discount?

I have been using Babys Only Organic Formula (dairy) for my daughter for 2 months now (she was 4 months old when we started) and I am absolutely thrilled with it.

Pros:

Very complete formula, superior nutritional value (more calcium!) than leading brands and YES, IT DOES CONTAIN DHA & ARA!!! (not like another reviewer says. Check out Nature's One website for more info).

It is less expensive than the leading brands!!

My daughter never had any problem digesting the formula, and is absolutely thriving on it :)

I tried Enfamil (what I used with my first child) and other brands of formulas, but she would not drink them. This is the only formula she has liked. It DOES taste (and smell!) better than the leading brands.

Cons:

It becomes foamy when you first shake the bottle to dissolve the powder, but the foam disappears if you let the bottle sit for a few minutes.

The powder dissolves better if you mix it in warm water.

Overall, a great formula that I have been recommending to many of my friends. :)

Eco Baba - Stainless Steel 12oz. Baby Bottle (Black)

Eco Baba - Stainless Steel 12oz. Baby BottleBought three of this stainless steel bottle, one of them has a stain inside of the bottle. It looks like a solder mark, not good for my baby. returned to Amazon.

The biggest issue with me for this bottle is that it does not have a measuring mark on the body telling you how much the water/formular it has before and after. My daycare teacher was complaining this. they could not know how much my baby drink.

issue 2: the nipple does not support ventalation. my baby does not like to suck on it, tried with other brand nipples, still not well fit.

issue 3: Although the body is kinda cute. it is too fat, it can't fit into my Avent bottle warmer.

issue 4: I belive saw similar complain on another user review, the bottle still have a little rim area touch with the plastic body of the bottle. Why it can't be made with 100% stainless steel?

I am currently using another brand of stainless steel baby bottle. it is very nice!!! solve all the issues I reported here. In case you are interested, do some research and you will know which I am talking about.

p.s. The two left bottles now served as storage bottles, when I made some fruit flavoured water, I used them to store it in the fridge, not a bad choice.

I love the idea of this bottle, I love the shape and the feel and the look. Unfortunately, when my son tries to drink from it the nipple collapses. We were using a vented system before this bottle and after some research I found some tips to help avoid the issue don't tighten the ring too much, it may take babies some time to transition if they are used to a vented system, etc. The sippy option, possibly a better choice for my son, wasn't available from Amazon at the time I ordered. Anyway, I emailed Eco Baba and and was surprised when I didn't hear back for some time I was disappointed and initially gave the Eco Baba a less favorable review.

As it turns out this is a family owned and run business and the owners spent considerable time locating my order and finding me after having issues accessing my information through Amazon. So I received a lovely and very responsive and concerned call tonight. We discussed the size of the nipple (level 2 comes standard) and transition form a vented system to a non-vented system. She explained her own experiences as well. So I still love the idea, shape, feel, and look of the bottle, my son has adjusted his drinking style a bit, and I am very happy with Eco Baba's customer service. And since my son hardly uses a bottle any more I will try the sippy option.

NurturMe All-Natural Baby Food

NurturMe All-Natural Baby Food, Plump Peas, 8-Count PouchesI bought all the flavors of NurturMe offered on Amazon and we decided to try the peas first. When I mixed the formula in, I could not believe how bright green the peas were. I tasted them and they tasted like the freshest peas I ever ate. I had only planned to throw these in the diaper bag for a quick feeding on the go with easy portability, but so far these are the only peas my daughter will eat! Next we tried the apples and they were better than the best applesauce I've ever had. I make my own baby food, and because many fruits and veggies arent the best right now, these powdered baby foods are better than what I can make homemade! Every flavor has been as good as the last. All are bright, colorful, and taste very, very fresh.

My son gags when we feed him peas, so I sneak this into his other food so he gets more greens.

This is an amazing product. I've spent so much time trying to find a decent baby food, but I was so disappointed. Some products simply looked inedible and I'd never want to give them to my baby. Then I came across NurtureMe. The peas actually look like peas! Imagine that. They pop with a bright green color and smell just like fresh peas. My baby loves them and so do I. I've tested Sprout, Happy Baby, and Earths Best, but Nutureme is the only baby food I use.

I'm an older mother with my first child and I make all of my baby's food at home to avoid any unwanted ingredients and to make sure that my child has the freshest and best tasting food possible. All his food EXCEPT for the NurturMe products that is! I found their peas and apples while I was on vacation and was completely shocked at how fresh, bright, and tasty they are. I refused to feed my child that grey stuff that passes for canned baby peas even from supposed "organic" or healthy brands because it isn't anything I would personally want to eat due to the processed taste and color. As the other reviewer stated, I've honestly never tasted peas that were so fresh and sweet. I would never have thought that dried baby foods would produce such a fresh looking and tasting end result, but they look and taste so much better than anything that is canned or in the plastic pouches. I tried buying fresh or frozen organic peas myself and making my own pea puree but it never came out as nice as these. When I used fresh or frozen peas my baby wouldn't eat them because I was never able to get the pea skins pureed fine enough and he kept choking and coughing while he ate them. I make my own sweet potato, squash, blueberry, etc. but these are really the only green vegetables that he seems to love. My only complaint is that they can be hard to find in supermarkets or big box stores. Thanks Amazon for keeping them in stock. And, yes, they are super handy for mixing into other foods or taking them on the go, but for me the main selling point of these is the fresh sweet taste which makes my baby scarf them down!

Bumkins Waterproof Sleeved Bib

Bumkins Waterproof Sleeved Bib - Pink SupernovaI couldn't believe how much time I had to spend each day trying to get stains out of clothes. And with winter coming up, I wanted to get long sleeve bibs, which for some reason I haven't seen in Babies R Us or any other store. Every bib I got seemed to have some issue, but I thought it might be helpful for others to see a comparison of the details:

SIZE

Kushies the smallest of the three bibs (sleeve 11 inches from neck, width 10 inches, length 13 inches from neck).

Ikea sleeve (14 inches from neck, including a 1 inch fabric cuff), width (12 inches from one seam to another but another 8 inches that wrap around yea!!), length (14 inches from neck)

Bumpkins sleeve (14.5 inches from neck), width (13.5 inches), length (12.5 from neck)

Tidy Turtle the largest (sleeve 16 inches from neck, width 14 inches, legth 15 inches from neck)

MATERIAL

Kushies and Ikea are very thin, like umbrella material. Kusies folds down to nothing great for a full diaper bag. Ikea folds a little thicker due to cloth cuffs and extra fabric. Tidy Turtle and Bumpkins are thicker and stiffer. Tidy Turtle has a visibly larger weave.

CUFFS

All the sleeves have a 3-inch opening (in diameter).

Kushies no elastic cuff. Food may fall in and drip onto the baby's arms/clothes.

Ikea 1 inch of soft spandex fabric. The cuff opening is just a little bit smaller than the other bibs.

Bumpkins and Tidy Turtle elastic sewn inside the bib material.

NECK CLOSURE

My 20lb baby has a skinny neck. Unfortunately, all of the bibs are about the same size around the neck, regardless of what type of closure. Bumpkins ties together at the neck, and the others have velcro. Even they are supposed to be "adjustable" velcro, they are all about the same size opening on the smallest setting. With velcro, you also have to make sure you stick it together before washing. Otherwise, it will stick to and ruin your other clothes.

In general, all the long sleeve bibs seem too big for my my 1 year old and were too big around the neck area. Sometimes I use a clothes pin to make the neck opening smaller. Aside from that, I feel that Bumpkins and Ikea provide the best coverage without being too big. They are wide and long enough on the bottom and have an elastic cuff to keep Baby's clothes clean. I like Ikea's thinner material and spandex cuffs, but Bumpkins looks cuter (we love Cat in the Hat).

These bibs used to be the greatest, thin silky completely waterproof and fast-drying material. But the company moved production from the US to China and it is just not the same now. I wanted an extra for the diaper bag but the one made in China is much thicker and quite stiff. I thought it might soften up with time, but it hasn't after a few months of daily washings. It is waterproof, but the stiffness causes it to get in the baby's way and because it doesn't flow over baby's lap, more food ends up on the clothes. It also is much harder to wash due to the stiffness, and takes a long time to dry because of the thickness. But if you can find one of the old ones made in the USA, those are great! I had one Superbib for a couple years and then when this sleeved one was so disappointing, I went to a baby store nearby and looked through their rack and they had one sleeved one left that had been made in the US of the better material, and that one is fabulous. The old style is so soft and supple, super-comfy for baby, and a breeze to wash (I just dunk it in dishwater and rinse) and dries amazingly fast.

Buy Bumkins Waterproof Sleeved Bib Now

I was looking for a long-sleeved waterproof bib for my toddler-to-be, and I first purchased this Bumkins bib. However, when it came in the mail, I noticed that it was advertised as lead-safe. Why safe but not free? I e-mailed customer support at Bumkins. They said:

"In the past, the government limits on lead content have allowed us to claim lead free. Because of an increased awareness of the chemicals in commercial products, we now conform to the requirements established by the CPSIA and label our products lead safe. The composition of our product has not changed and does not exceed the established limits. All our products pass stringent testing and are labeled according to the required standards."

BUT Kushies is lead-free. So I bought a Kushies long-sleeved bib for our 2nd bib (we like to have 2 to alternate between using/washing). Both have their pros and cons. Here are Bumkins':

PROS

1. Neck-tie strap, makes it easier to adjust to my baby's narrow neck and prevent food from falling between his neck and the bib. Also prevents him from pulling the bib off.

2. Thicker material (feels studier, but maybe that's why it's not lead-free?)

CONS

1. Not lead-free (but BPA/PVC/phthalates-free)

2. The lining stains easily and is VERY hard to clean (I scrubbed it a lot and it's still stained). Kushies' lining is made from the same taffeta waterproof fabric as the rest of the bib, whereas the Bumkins lining is not, so the Kushies one is way easier to clean.

I really wanted to like the Bumkins one (and I do love the neck tie) but Kushies gets my vote for lead-free. And the easier to clean is a big bonus for busy parents as well.

Product is advertised as being lead free, however it is "Lead Compliant" which means there is still lead. Had I known this, I would not have purchased it. Lead does not belong in any childrens products, especially ones that a baby-lead weaning child may eat off of.

This bib is wonderful. I have a toddler who self-feeds and is MESSY. This bib keeps her completly clean and even has elastic at the wrist to keep food off of her shirt sleeves. I either wipe or rinse the bib off when finished and lay it out to dry. They are also machine washable. I highly recommend this product, it is well worth the money.
