The First Years 4 Count Pouch Spoon

The First Years 4 Count Pouch SpoonGreat spoon. Very functional and easy to use on-the-go. Our 9 month old loves eating out of them. Only downside to this spoon is how quickly the food flows out of the bag into the spoon.

Innobaby Keepin' Fresh Stainless Steel Travel Cup, 8-Ounce

Innobaby Keepin' Fresh Stainless Steel Travel Cup, 8 Ounce, Orange FishAt first I liked this cup but I've only used it for a month and it failed in two ways. 1. There are 4 tabs keeping the lid on the bottom and one tore off. 2. The straw turned a gross yellow/brown.

I didn't abuse it and used it for water. For the price, you'd expect something much better.

Will update if Innobaby does anything for me when I contact them tomorrow.

*Update*Innobaby sent me replacement parts and I had them in my hand at the end of the week which is great but I wish it hadn't broken in the first place.

Loved it for a couple of weeks. Then it broke (fall from highchair down to wood floor) and there are now sharp plastic edges at the break so I won't be giving it back to my little guy anytime soon.

Pros

----

Stainless steel insert. Less worries about chemicals leaching.

Tab design allows for one handed filling. Sometimes you have to hold your baby and fill a cup at the same time. It takes two hands to put together a screw top cup.

Tab design allows for secure closing. We have a Zoli straw cup as well. Wanted to like it, but it's easy to mis-thread it when your closing it. It'll feel tight and closed, but leak everywhere when it's upside down. With this cup, you know the lid is on right.

Cons

----

Tab can snap off when the cup is dropped. I looks like it's still watertight, but it's sharp where the plastic broke off so it's not safe for a little kid anymore.

Leaks out the vent hole when open for drinking. Automatically makes this cup short of ideal for kids learning to drink form something other than the bottle.

Straw stains quickly. This doesn't really bother me since I feel like I get it pretty clean with a straw cleaner, but it's something to keep in mind.

Without the tab breakage issue, I'd give this 4 stars for kids learning to drink from a cup, and 5 stars for slightly older kids with better coordination.

=========

Update

=========

Contacted their customer service and was sent a replacement right away. Raising my rating from 2 to 4 stars because of the great customer service and the fact that it was only a few days between when the top broke and when I had a new one. I hope they reinforce the tabs in future versions, but in the meantime, I'm ok with waiting a few days to get a new top if it does break again.

=========

Update 2

=========

The replacement lid broke a week later the first time my son dropped it at a restaurant. This time the tab holding the straw cap broke leaving a sharp point directed right at his face when he drinks from it. Reducing rating from 4 to 3 stars. As a baby/young toddler cup, it's just too fragile 2 stars, at best. As a child/adult travel cup, it's great 4 stars.

The first time I gave it to my 14 month old son he dropped it on the floor and the latches broke right off the cup. The cup cannot be used for travel anymore. Sorry, when I spend $25 on a cup, I expect it to work for more than 1 time, all functions. No pieces should be breaking after 1 use, especially if it is being marketed for toddlers. Innobaby which usually has good infant/toddler products missed the mark on this one.

I found this in my search for a non-plastic sippy cup for my toddler. It is stainless steel on the inside with a plastic layer for insulation on the outside. When the cup is sitting upright (ie when it's in the fridge), nothing ever touches plastic. The straw is entirely silicone. The lid is bpa-free plastic. Clamps together securely. If the top is closed til it snaps, it will not leak. But it will leak when it's open, so probably better for a kid who's past the dumping everything out for fun stage.

This is exactly what I've been looking for! I wanted a stainless steel or glass sippy cup with a straw that didn't have a valve that made it too difficult for my LO to drink from. This is perfect. So far no leaks, I like that the straw doesn't have a valve making it impossible for my 14 month old to use, and it's stainless steel so no worries about nasty leaching plastic. I have been looking everywhere for something like this. Perfect!

Similac Advance Early Shield, Formula, Powder, 23.2-Ounces (Pack of 6)

Similac Advance Early Shield, Formula, Powder, 23.2-OuncesEvery baby is different, but for us, Similac is a much better fit than Enfamil. Babies are gassy and formula will give them gas, but there is no blood curdling screaming or writhing in pain with Similac like there was with Enfamil.

I bought this 6 pack for 122.99, and was a good value with prime shipping. This is cheaper than Walmart or Target stores. But recently found Costco is offering a bigger sized individual cans at even better price (81 cents per ounce).

The product is fine but

I was disappointed with the shipment

I ordered six containers of this product & I was shipped about 16 of the sample tins

the formula amount was the same the packaging is annoying

if I order the six containers I expect to receive the same packaging

as what I ordered not sample sizes. These sample size containers are not for resale either

I don't think I will order from amazon for this product again

I had b/g twins and the boy was great at breastfeeding but I had to pump for the girl. She was miserable all the time and cried 24/7. I put her straight on Alimentum (made by Abbott, the makers of Similac) and she did great on Alimentum for 3 months. I wanted to get her onto a regular formula, due to the extremely processed and broken down "hydrolyzed" proteins in Alimentum (creates MSG, look it up). So I changed over to an organic formula that I love and the child was constipated!!! Then I opened up my sample can of Similac Advance and she did beautifully. No constipation, and no more colic. If I try to give her the "generic" form of Similac she gets constipated, Enfamil makes her constipated, and so does Similac Organic, so we have stuck with the blue lid Similac advance.

My breast milk wasn't coming in while we were still in the hospital so my baby came home on this formula until my milk came in. It was easy for him to digest and he thrived on it. He lost a lot of weight in the hospital because my milk wasn't coming in. Being on this formula for a little over a day made him gain enough weight that the pediatrician felt comfortable discharging him to go home.

Now my milk came in but my baby won't breast feed from being bottle fed for so long. After pumping for 3 1/2 months and trying to take care of a developmentally delayed 3 year old with no one to help me I am giving up pumping and my baby will be formula fed again. Needless to say I will be using this formula again since I know it was easy for him to digest and he thrived on it. I highly recommend this product.

edited 8/29/09: When I wrote the comment "good price" the seller on this link was amazon.com and the price was $. It's still excellent formula but with a coupon it's probably cheaper to get from your local store. We also tend to find lots of sales at local stores.

Plum Organics Just Fruit, Mangos, 3.5-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 12)

Plum Organics Just Fruit, Mangos, 3.5-Ounce PouchesI'm not a baby, but I am someone who travels a lot and have food allergies. So I love travelling with these little pouches. The mango is delicious, tastes like the fresh fruit, has absolutely nothing else added to it. And since they are 3oz containers, 1 or 2 will fit in the plastic baggie you put your liquids in for airport security. They are also a great convenience in the car. Like them so much I have them on autoship!

Our son is 11 months old and we've used plum organics since we introduced pureed foods. Although he's getting tired of pureed foods at this point he STILL loves the mango. It's his favorite! He acts like it's desert. Highly recommend trying all their pureed products to see what your child likes. I LOVE the fact that their foods are so pure!

My son loves this mango treat. We bought the product from Amazon because the stores always run out--a clear sign that this is a great product. These packets of fruit make feeding on the go very easy as well as snack time at home.

bought for my baby, but after i tasted it, seeing how delicious it is, i ended up eating most of these pouches myself. love love love it. i've tried some other plum organics flavors, but this is by far the best tasting in my opinion. kinda surprising it's all natural considering how sweet it tastes.

This product is wonderful. My daughter who has food allergies can eat this without any tummy trouble. It is also super conveniant and easy to feed. Little to no mess involved, esp with the spoon attachment. Well worth the money and I loved the automatic shipment option. I dont have to worry that I have forgotten her baby food it just shows up at my door step.

Neat Solutions Shopper Topper - Sesame Street

Neat Solutions Shopper Topper - Sesame StreetIt's a good idea but.....from a mommy perspective it's not very practical. I would always forget them or would be so hassled by the car seat and diaper bags or whatever. When I did use them by the time I found a cart and then dug out the covers and peeled the backings the kid would be howling. If you put the child in the cart first it's already too late. After while you get to the point where it just doesn't matter that much to you anymore. I would save the money and just keep a travel pack of huggies wipes handy to wipe down the bars and little hands.

Bowl, Spoon and Fork Set in Blue

Bowl, Spoon and Fork Set in BlueThis product is a must have for anyone with young children. With my oldest, feeding was a complete mess. The plastic bowl that I used tipped over all the time. My son was so frustrated wanting to feed himself that all it took was one unhappy hand slap to the highchair tray and splatcereal everywhere. The Baby Dipper feeding set eliminates (well, seriously minimizes) the mess, as it can't really help with the food that he likes to put in his hair! The bowl stays in place, so you don't have to worry about it sliding around or tipping over. It is perfectly shaped to allow for easier scooping of the food. And the utensils are the perfect size for little hands that want to do everything "by self". I would definitely recommend this product!

All four of my grandchildren have grown up using the Baby Dipper bowl. They love it and so do we. As an engineer myself, I really appreciate the features of this bowl. The sloped bottom, the vertical walls, along with the fitted spoon and fork make it so easy to use. Oh, and I forgot the non-slip base to keep it in place.

I see they are now available in pink and you can buy extra spoons and forks. Great ideas.

Buy Bowl, Spoon and Fork Set in Blue Now

The design of this bowl makes it fun--and much neater--for my grandchildren to feed themselves, and it stays in place on the table or high chair tray! When I fed infant grandchildren, using the Baby Dipper bowl was like I had grown a much-needed extra hand. The bowl really requires only one hand, leaving the parent's or grandparent's other hand free to wipe baby's face or keep his/her hands out of the mouth. No BPA, no lead, and no phthalates--a safe choice for feeding our little ones. Makes a perfect gift for baby showers, too!

I love this bowl! Makes feeding a child sooo much easier since you can do it with one hand. The grip on the bottom of the bowl makes it so it does not move or slide all over the table especially if you are holding your baby while you feed them. I also like that the inside is sloped to one end so the food stays there while you scoop it.

Beaba Babypote - Reusable Kids Squeeze Pouch

Beaba Babypote - Reusable Kids Squeeze PouchI heard great things about this from other moms out there. They make their own baby purees and put in there instead of those store bought pouches. We're past the baby puree stage here, but thought it'd be great in lunch boxes instead of the go gurts. My kids love the go gurt but get bored with the flavors. They LOVE mango lassis, and those work AWESOME in here! I stick them in the freezer over night and they do double duty, also as a ice pack.

I was worried how my five year old would react. But, he loves to use it as a juice box. Go figure. My 17 month old works the disposable pouches just fine, but these require some squeezing and he gets fustrated. I'm sure it's just a skill he'll pick up, but be prepared to do some teaching in the beginning. Oh, and you can even thin out regular yogurt or buy yogurt without stablizers for a drinkable *milkshake*. My kids love the wildberry and mango/banana from Traderspoint.

The uses really do go beyond the baby food stage. I did find these A LOT cheaper by googling it. In fact, for around 3 times LESS than amazon. So, do your homework.

I ordered this item because my daughter will only eat puree foods from pouches.

Here are my thoughts regarding this product:

PROS:

1. Easy to clean

2. Easy to fill

3. Basically does the job and has saved me in a pinch when my daughter won't eat finger foods

CONS:

1. Because the body of the container is not clear, it is hard to tell how much food is left in the pouch

2. The cap is sometimes hard to screw onto the body

3. The body is too squishy which can make it inefficient when it comes to squeezing out the food

Buy Beaba Babypote - Reusable Kids Squeeze Pouch Now

This has met and exceed my expectations. My toddler who still won't eat fruit or veggies unless purred loves this thing. I was spending too much on disposable packets from the health food store that couldn't even be recycled. Now I can make my own purees how he likes them. Great for the lunch box. There was a slight learning curve as they are a little harder to suck and squeeze the food out than the disposable kind, but he figured it out pretty fast.

It is very easy to load up with food (a standard table spoon easily fits into the opening). And cleaning is super easy. Fill it with hot soapy water and shake, or I can fit the sprayer from my sink all the way into the opening. If it's especially gross, I can turn it inside out and scrub it.

Agreed, the only design flaw is the top should be tethered. It will be useless if the cap gets lost.

I ordered these on the thinking that my toddlers would love them. They really enjoy the squeeze pouches and I wanted something that was similar that I could fill myself. While the Babypote does do that, it does not have any kind of control. If you turn it upside down whatever you have in there just POURS out of the spout. And if you have toddlers you KNOW that they will do that. Our first time using these were a disaster. Applesauce EVERYWHERE. It was awful. And you don't need to squeeze it either. My suggestion for the mfr would be to add some kind of control diaphragm like a sippy cup has something that will hold the contents in if (when) a child turns it upside down. Maybe these are better for older kids but for mine they didn't work...

Want Beaba Babypote - Reusable Kids Squeeze Pouch Discount?

I bought this thinking that I could give it to my 10-month old who refuses to eat anything from a spoon. I make all my own baby food so my freezer has a ton of purees still in it that I don't want to waste. Unfortunately, I don't think this product will work for us (at least not yet). There is nothing to stop the food from leaking out which makes it quite messy (although not dissimilar to the squeezable purees found in the store). The problem is that it doesn't allow the baby to suck. You can only get the food out by squeezing. Perhaps this is why the product is meant for 1-yr and older? It's a great concept and I wish it worked better, but for now this will remain in the drawer!

KF Baby Diaper Bag Insert Organizer -12 x 6.4 x 8 inch, Khaki

KF Baby Diaper Bag Insert Organizer -12 x 6.4 x 8 inch, KhakiI had to return this because it was simply too large to fit in a medium sized, hobo style purse. Probably works fine for a LARGE tote bag. Be aware that the dividers do not connect to the bottom, so items may sneak between compartments.

This is a really useful insert but I can't use it because it smells horrible! I washed it with Downy Unstopables and let it air out for over a month and it still smells like chemicals! I stuck my nursing cover-up, nursing pads, diapers and burp cloth in it and now they have the same smell... Don't know how else to make the smell go away.

Buy KF Baby Diaper Bag Insert Organizer -12 x 6.4 x 8 inch, Khaki Now

This item had a VERY strong plastic smell which made it not useful in a baby's diaper bag! It should be labeled as something useful in a tool bag. I couldnt even use it! I tried washing it three times and airing it out and nothing even made the smell lessen. I threw it away because I knew I couldnt return it because I washed it. After writing a bad review the seller notified me through email and said it was labeled as cleaning and they would refund my money for the purchase. I haven't received any refund and Amazon has it clearly labeled as a baby Diaper bag organizer. No way would I let anything that had a chemical smell like this anywhere near my baby's things!!

So, I bought this because I get a small duffel bag (it about 16" x 10") every Cigarfest show I attend, and after I empty it of cigars, it is handy for traveling with gadgets and smaller items. The problem is that the center main section of this little bag has no compartments or organization, and the interior is black, so its hard to see on the road and at night what is inside.

Firstly, the manufacturing/petroleum/who knows smell goes away in about a day. I put it outside and 24 hours later it smelled like any other new luggage piece.

So I got this in khaki to contrast with the black in this small duffel (it about 16" x 10") so that I could see

things like GPS cables, mounts, cameras, phones, etc. It really works for this purpose. It could even be a range or target bag, as this material is designed to repel most stains, and the compartments are high enough to organize, but not so deep that its like going for a prize in a cereal box.

So, like other reviewers pointed out, the weak point is the lack of seams at the bottom of the compartments. Items tend to shift during travel, and they can sometimes creep into other compartments, especially coins or smaller items. But for the most part, this bag performed very well on my last 2000 mile road trip. GPS in a pocket, power in another, flashlight, bottle of water, and still room for maps and whatever along the sides. You could use it to make any bag into a small travel/tactical/flight/medic bag.

So it isn't perfect, but it is as close as I'll come without spending 4 8 times more on a specialized bag. And it reuses a duffel bag I have in great amounts.

This had a strong chemical smell. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it out. I used it once and everything I put in it ended up having the smell. Really disappointed.

Fresh Baby Stainless Steel Divided Dish

Fresh Baby So Easy Divided Dish, GreenI'm so glad I found this lunchbox I looked all over Amazon and finally found what I was looking for a stainless steel lunchbox with a divider in the middle AND with a tightly sealing lid.

I have a ThinkBaby lunchbox that is similar, but it only has one compartment I've been looking for a lunchbox of similar design (plastic for a bit of insulation on the outside, stainless steel on the inside and with the tight water-tight lid) but with 2 compartments so I can carry 2 types of food for my baby. I thought this one would do the trick.

It does...kind of. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the internal divider is move-able. This may be a good thing depending on what you're looking for. But the problem for me with the movable divider is that now when you put liquid-y type items on one side, it just seeps over to the other side, making the "dry" side potentially soggy.

So still great. Still use-able, but just wanted to let you Amazon shoppers out there know about this feature in case you were looking for 2 "sealed-off" compartments like I was.

Here's the dimensions:

exterior 5.5 x 4.25 x 1.5 inches

interior 5.0 x 3.75 x 1.25 inches

Holds 9 oz.

You could fit half a sandwich inside or the slices of one apple, but not both. I had hoped to use it as my preschooler's lunch "box" but it is much too small. I would call the size appropriate for a preschooler's snack, or recommend getting at least two if you are using them to pack a lunch. I like that the lid seals tightly, but is easy enough for my preschooler to open unassisted. Also, having the option of using or completely removing the divider is nice. However, something liquid could leak under it, so it really is only functional for keeping dry items separate. I like the design, just wish it was larger.

Great product for school lunches whether you want to keep berries from squashing or hummus from warming up too much! Great size fits easily into a lunchbox and the amount of food that fits is perfect for children. I definitely recommend this product!

We've been using our bento box (japanese styled) but it didn't offer the capacity to adjust the divided area. This is a genius idea in that it is spill proof and it keeps the baby's food warm or cold. I like that it's easy to clean and that food does not spill from one divided dish to the other side. Wonderful product! We're definitely taking this out with us!

The only thing I was cautious of is the divider may be a little sharp at the edges should your little one gets a hold of it. But it's not that easy to remove and if you feed him/her, it should be okay.

All in all, wonderful product!

Oh my goodness, i LOVE this dish! I've had it a few weeks and have used it countless times so far. We take it to restaurants with us for dinners when there are unhealthy or too expensive items for my 18 month old. I love that you can change the division part depending on what's for lunch or dinner. Stainless steel makes my cold things stay colder longer and warm things warmer longer. HOORAY fresh baby!!!

Baby Bullet BSR-0801M Turbo Food Steamer

Baby Bullet BSR-0801M Turbo Food SteamerI must say that im in love with the whole system but if you have lost your instructions for the steamer they are very hard to acquire without having to call up baby bullet to get new ones! So here it goes I figured I would put it down in the review so this way everyone has them!

Also people don't ever emerge the machine in water it will not work after you do that! To clean it you simply take a cleaning wipe from either Babyganics or Lysol what ever you prefer but don't do it!

One glitch with the steamer is that you must make multiple batches if you are making larger ones for storage! It would be nice if the darn thing was bigger but it's not so if you are gonna make big batches you probably want to do it in a large pot with a strainer insert so the fruit or vegetables don't touch the bottom of the pot!

Also if you need to get any new parts for it just remember that they charge you a per shipping charge so for example if you need a new cooking tray and a lid ok it's fully covered under warrenty but they charge you 3.99 per item to be sent out so if you need new parts over two or three your best bet is to get a new machiene all together it's cheaper that way!

As for those instructions!

After making sure the heating plate is cooled, simply wipe it out with a warm soapy cloth. If lime scales have formed on the heating plate, add 1/2 fill cup of white vinegar and heat on SETTING 1 until the lime scales dissolve. Let cool & wipe clean.

I got the baby bullet for Christmas and later found the turbo steamer for $29.99 at a big chain store. I am a first time mom who works full time and I find this steamer very convenient. Sometimes I will steam and blend food for my baby in the morning before I go to work. It has a booklet that tells you how much water and what setting to put it on for all kinds of fruits and vegetables. When it's done it automatically shuts off so I don't have to hover in the kitchen while I am steaming stuff. I also really like the defrosting feature, so I can thaw out food quickly and easily. Word to the wise though, be careful of getting water in the bottom because it will short the unit out. Also, I wouldn't put the pieces in the dishwasher because BPA-free plastic tends to be a little less stable than other types of plastic.

I finally gave in and bought a steamer to defrost baby food. I wanted to stay away from both plastic products and the microwave, so I had been using a stove top double boiler/steamer to defrost pureed baby food (Fagor Stainless-Steel 2-Quart Double Boiler with Steamer Insert). I still steam food for my 3-year old this way. However, with my 9-month old baby now well into solid food, that stove top steamer was not big enough to defrost multiple foods at once to feed both kids. I needed something more.

I'd been researching Amazon for a regular "adult" food steamer so that I can use it for steaming all kinds of food, not just baby food. Most of these "baby" products come with a premium and do less, so this Baby Bullet steamer was not on my radar as a potential purchase.

However, at Toys R Us, after a sale and coupon, I got this Baby Bullet steamer for $24 on an impulse buy. I've been using it for about a month, and I now regret the purchase.

PROS:

1. Steams eggs perfectly

2. Saves counter space

3. Walk away from it worry-free (automatic shut-off)

4. BPA-free

CONS:

1. Plastic cover warps after a few uses

2. Steel plate does not detach and cannot be washed (can be wiped only)

3. Not recommended for dishwashers

4. Tiny (may be a PRO for you)

5. Poor construction and feels flimsy

The Pros are nice, but they are not unique to this product...I believe there are better options. The biggest con for me was the size. I should have gotten a bigger steamer so I can use it for steaming other foods as well as baby food. With a bigger steamer, you can also sterilize baby bottles, nipples, sippy cups, etc...this unit is too small for anything but bottle nipples. I also dislike that the plastic cover warped and does not fit the unit snugly anymore, although it does not seem to effect steaming. My steamer is also not level...it is wobbly. Again, it does not effect performance but is quite annoying.

I am now looking for a larger BPA-free electric food steamer. This Black & Decker HS1050 7-Quart Food Steamer is seemingly BPA-free (Google "black decker HS1050 bpa") and has large compartments where I can use ceramic/glass bowls. Or I may opt for a universal steamer insert to go with my stove top double boiler/steamer so that I can have a second steamer basket and stack them to steam more food at once on the stove top. But the worry-free walk-away convenience of an electric steamer seems *SO* worth it when there are two hungry kids screaming in the background...

I purchased this steamer at Babies r us for $29.99. However it wasn't worth it. The plastic was warped so much so that the top wouldn't fit into the base. I returned the product immediately. As for the baby bullet, I've found that the Ninja Master Prep (which I already owned) is BPA free and purees better. Hope this review helps.

green sprouts Formula Bottle Collar 3 Count Set, Green, 0-3 Months

green sprouts Formula Bottle Collar 3 Count Set, Green, 0-3 MonthsOriginally I liked this product as I as looking for standard size nipples that came with the collar as well as cap. However, I found the silicone to be thin which after about a month of washing became easy to tear and I had to throw them out. I did like that it had some texture to the nipples, my babies appeared to like them. Also, the nipples did not drip. Perhaps I washed them too aggressively but I still think they enlarged the opening too easily.

Happy Tot Toddler Meal Bowls, Super Beefy Pasta, 6-Ounce Package

Happy Tot Toddler Meal Bowls, Super Beefy Pasta, 6-Ounce PackageWith the cost, you would think you're getting more than 1 package. Please DO NOT buy this product. You can buy the same line at Target for $2.99. This item is not eligible for return either. I am very aggrevated. Love the "Happy" line of products, but would never order from here again!

I did not read the reviews first and did not realize you only got one tiny bowl for $10. I didn't think to read the finer print because it is so obviously crazy to charge that much for one package! This is obviously some sort of scam.

My toddler loves this meal. He loves the taste and eats every drop every time. I'm not much of a cook so perhaps he is happy just to eat decent food! but he is. And he loves all of the happytot meals equally. Thrilled for these products because I love the ingredients and the easy preparation. Easy to pack for him in pre-K. Thank goodness someone else does a decent job of feeding my boy; my heart's in the right place, I just stink in the kitchen! God Bless Happy Tot!

My son really enjoys these toddler meal bowls. They are really tasty & the chunks of pasta in it are great as a finger food for him to feed himself. These are perfect to have when traveling. I also always bring one with me when we go out to eat at a restaurant so I know he is having a nutritious & organic meal instead of feeding him the junk from the restaurant..
