Baby Chef Flawless Formula Maker

Baby Chef Flawless Formula MakerCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Flawless Formula Maker was a novel product that I initially had my reservations about. The claim that is was "flawless" seemed to be a bit over the top and so I decided to test this formula maker with an unbiased and very blunt "subject." To get a bit ahead of myself, one of his comments was that "that'll make the baby's head go back." This comment was elicited when I purposefully used the Flawless Formula Maker in an incorrect manner. I used warm water at that point and used less than I should have. I blended several batches of formula and had my test subject give his opinion. I smiled and presented each batch in a cup as soon as it was finished brewing. Every single batch that was prepared correctly was deemed to be "perfect," while the incorrectly prepared ones were not well received (not one iota). As a parent of five children, he could easily tell me with a finger or elbow test what a baby could safely and happily accept.

New parents are very tentative about their newborns and before even considering using the Flawless Formula Maker I'd recommend a lot of practice, preferably with another experienced parent. When it is time to actually use the machine there won't be any fumbling nor will there be any chance of burning the baby's mouth. I really loved the way it worked after I got the hang of it. I did experiment extensively to find how and why the machine would fail, but in each instance I was either not following the directions or intentionally sabotaging them. For example, one time I put in warm water that was over the recommended 104 degrees Fahrenheit and was way uncomfortable when I stuck my elbow in it.

The directions for this unit were flawless in that they were quit specific and very clear. They must be followed or you will run into problems . . . of your own making. There is a lengthy list of twenty-two safeguards that I'd recommend reading (really reading and paying attention to) even before you set the machine on your counter. The Flawless Formula Maker is one of those time saving devices that once you start to use you'll wonder what you ever did without them. If you have multiples you'll really appreciate this device. For example, this is its "Warming Time Chart:"

Liquid Level/Time

4 fl. oz. / Less than 70 seconds

8 fl. oz. / Less than 100 seconds

12 fl oz. / Less than 130 seconds

16 fl. oz. / Less than 160 seconds

I am quite impressed with the Flawless Formula Maker, but if you aren't willing to spend some time practicing making formula prior to actually utilizing it with a baby, you might want to bypass this purchase. The learning curve is easy and if you're willing to practice and pay attention to the detailed instructions, this is one innovative product you'll love. This device is way better than anything I've tried to mix up formula, including old-fashioned methods grandma used to use. Do I like it? I sure do. Would I give it as a gift or use it on a baby in my own family? It's a bit pricey, but I sure would.

Wow, I cannot believe this product is not rating higher. It has been a complete Godsend for me. I would be lost without this product. It not only mixes the formula correctly but it warms it to the proper temperature. It's a very luke warm not too hot, not too cold. There are no lumps or clumps of formula. I think that every new mom who has to formula feed should use this product.

We wanted to switch from ready-made soy similac to an organic soy powder formula (Nature's Only) when my baby was 6 months and I was dreading using powder, especially because the soy powder formula is really hard to mix and shaking the bottle doesn't work well enough to dissolve it. In addition, shaking gets so much air into the formula and gives the baby gas.So... I looked on amazon and purchased the dr. brown's mixing pitcher, which is pretty good, but very manual, and doesn't mix this formula that wonderfully... and my husband said there has to be a better way. Then, I found the Baby Chef formula maker and it is AWESOME! It is so easy to use, and I practiced once with my mom to get it right. I keep the powder in pre-measured containers (munchkin) so that when I have to make the bottle I just add the water, put in the powder and turn it on. It is done so quickly and 9/10 times it is the perfect temp. It ends up being quicker than pouring the ready-made into a bottle and heating it in the warmer. The bottle warmer takes several minutes and even then the temp is so unpredictable, and usually too hot so it needs to be cooled off.

We use the Baby Chef machine all day now.The only drawback is that you have to prepare the formula for immediate use because the machine heats it up. So for nightime, before bed, we make a couple of bottles in advance (if the baby wakes up and for first thing in the morning), by using the prince lionheart hand mixer and mixing it in the dr. brown's pitcher. That works great.

This machine is completely worth the affordable price and is so convenient. You do need to wash 3 parts after each formula preparation but it is super easy.

I am obsessed with baby products that make our lives as first-time parents easier and this is definitely one of my top baby purchases.

VegLife - Vegan Kids Multiple Berry - 60 Chewable Tablets

VegLife - Vegan Kids Multiple Berry - 60 Chewable TabletsI received these today, alot earlier than expected which was a good thing.

The bottle is large with about 1/3 of it used for vitamins.

It DOES have a child safety lid on it where you have to push down and then turn for it to open. It is easy for me to open, but not my son which is a good thing.

The vitamins are very thick and chalky like tums. They are purple and smell like grape with a chalky vitamin smell, but twice the size i thought they would be..maybe the size of 2 flintstone vitamins.

They are chewable and vegan which I like and my son tried them and liked them and wanted more (i didnt give him any more of course), so I guess he rates them higher than me..lol

He is 2.5 years and had no problem chewing it even though it was a little large. I would just watch out if your child is not a good chewer or doesnt have a lot of teeth.

I did like that this vitamin is for 2 years and up. 2 and 3 year olds take only one a day, so this bottle will last 2 months. 4 years old and up take 2 a day, so the bottle will last 1 month.

Nutrition facts: per 2 tablets (remember dose will be only HALF of this for 2 and 3 year olds!!)

*There IS iron in these vitamins

beside the vitamins on the bottle, there is the source of each nutrient, but i didnt write them all on here.

It states these are tooth friendly because they only include natural sweeteners as sorbitol and xylitol. NO sucrose, fructose, artificial sweeteners, or artificial flavors are added.

it also states 100% free of animal by-products.

It has an ingredient list, but my hands are getting tired of typing after all those vitamins I typed..lol

Hopefully this will help someone out there that had questions before purchasing like I did!

My 3.5 year old has been using this for at least a year now and loves it. Since it's chewable, it makes it easy for her to eat and being a vegan, it gives her all the vitamins she needs (especially the B12).

I ordered this vegetarian vitamin and my kids have not complained. So, I guess they like it. Being vegetarian there are too many choices when it comes to vitamin. It is nice to have this product at reasonable price. I am glad that I found this.

Happy Baby Organic Baby Food Stage 2 Banana Beet and Blueberry -- 3.5 oz

Happy Baby Organic Baby Food Stage 2 Banana Beet and Blueberry -- 3.5 ozhow is this a low-cost item, as an add-on item, if it's over $5 for ONE pouch? It just doesn't make sense! Otherwise, it's a great pouch, if it were a decent price!

Baby loves this and so do I. It's very tasty and great for breakfast or lunch. One of our favorite banana combos, but the beet comes through and of course the blueberry just adds a little something extra. Highly recommend.

Playtex Toy Story Utensils Set, Designs May Vary

Playtex Toy Story Utensils Set, Designs May VaryThis set is the best utensil set for small hands. I've tried spoons that I used to feed my son (Munchkin and Oxo), and they are too long for him.

Playtex is short with great ergonomics, and because it is easy to operate for my little guy he grabs it more often to eat by himself. Of course at the beginning he would take only 2-3 spoons of food, like yoghurt, and wanted me to feed him (faster way). Sometimes I use to show how to eat and it is very comfy even for me.

I wish I could have it from when he was 1 year old or younger. I have to say though that I alway gave him a spoon just for him and with time he learn what to do with it, and now it's just easier.

On the side note I have to say that fork is not very sharp, but enough to grab food. Also we use it several times every day and they still look like new.

My son loves the characters. Good length and easy to grip. Overall, a great choice for toddler utensils and I can't reccomrmd another higher.

They are ok for the price but with the time they loose the decorative figure even if you do not wash them in the dishwasher...so it is a pity.

Both utensils have a weird angle to them that makes them hard to use. But more importantly, the business end of each utensil is just plain worthless. The tines of the fork are too dull and fat to skewer any food, and they're too far apart scoop any food. The spoon is too shallow and the odd angle makes it hard to keep anything in it. As an adult with great fine-motor skills, I have a hard time getting anything from the plate to my mouth with these. For a baby, it's hopeless.

This is the first and only utensil set I have bought my now 16 month old son for his use, so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I have no need to get any other set because he is able to use this set with no problems. I also feel safer that he is using a plastic spoon and fork and nothing metal or sharp. If you are looking for a nice starter set to get your child, I would recommend this.

Reed & Barton Silver Plate Beaded Baby Cup

Reed & Barton Silver Plate Beaded Baby CupIt was much smaller than the photo of the product led me to believe. That really diminished the pleasure of having given it as a gift. Silver and pewter cups I had seen in stores were uniformly larger.

This was a gift for our grandson's dedication and it could not have been more perfect. I wanted a keepsake item and this was a great choice. It was beautifully packaged and boxed. I would recommend this as a gift and the price was better than a major department store in Minnesota.

Re-Play 3 Count Divided Plates

Re-Play 3 Count Divided Plates, Aqua, Green, OrangeI searched all the reviews before I bought these and looked at the pictures trying to find out if these are microwave safe, they aren't. I did purchase them and it does say so on the back of the packaging. They're dishwasher safe and otherwise great plates, but won't serve as the all-purpose plates I had in mind.

I have been buying green eats plates and bowls and cups but when it came time to buy divided plates I liked the look of these better. They looked deeper and more spacious. And they were cheaper. I am so glad I went with these divided plates. They are indeed the perfect size for food! I have a 10 month old and 2 1/2 year old. Plus we always have cousins and friends overeveryone loves these plates! I want to buy the matching bowls now because the colors are so vibrant. i still like my green eats plates and bowls but i LOVE these!

These plates are amazing. Other bowls and plates werent doing the trick. I saw these on Amazon, and figured I would give them a try. The sections are deep, so my 16 month old can use her spoon and get the food out without pushing the food out of the sections and all over herself. The plates are thick plastic and very durable. I had only purchsed the one 3 pack, but I just got on today and ordered more so we can use them with every meal. They are a great price and worth the money!!! I cant wait to see what other products this company has to offer!!!

Great price, great product, and my kids love them. The plates are deep enough to put cereal in and hold just the right amount of food, and my kids love the colors. If you are going to wash them in the dishwasher make sure you only put them on the top shelf. Besides that these are great and I would definitely recommend them. Also, the silverware from Re-Play is just as good!

Nature's Child Squeezers, SpongeBob Squarepants Squashed Banana, 4-Count (Pack of 12)

Nature's Child Squeezers, SpongeBob Squarepants Squashed Banana, 4-Count...it must be good.

My daughter (age 6) ranks pretty high on the "difficult to feed" list. She has food allergies (peanuts and soy and all other legumes, tree nuts, and coconut), and has a lot of learned aversions to foods of certain tastes, smells, textures, or colors, and has become a picky eater.

We discoveted these recently and she LOVES them. She wasn't keen on their grape variety, but really enjoys these. Wirth every penny!

Skip Hop Bento Diaper Tote Bag

Skip Hop Bento Diaper Tote Bag, BlackI received this bag last week and after spending weeks reading reviews and finally deciding on this bag, I really REALLY wanted to love it. Unfortunately, I did not.

Pros:

It is made from great quality materials--durable handles, strong inner/outer material, and smooth zippers.

Shuttle clips are GREAT for use on stroller or shopping cart to keep the bag out of your way and it keeps it in the perfect spot to unzip easily and access whatever you need inside the bag.

Cons:

The bottom insulated compartment MUST be filled for the bag to stay upright. In fact, the included 'mealtime kit' was not enough to fill this compartment completely. I also had to attach a bottle of water to the 'mealtime kit' to actually fill the compartment enough to keep this top-heavy bag upright.

The outer insulated bottle compartments do not properly fit extra-wide bottles (as advertised). The hard plastic bottom of the main compartment (also the top of the insulated lower compartment) extends too far out on both sides of the bag. If you place your hand in the bottle compartment you can feel the plastic bottom sticking out into this pocket. It sticks far enough into the insulated bottle compartment that you can actually set the bottle comfortably on it and it will stay right there. I even thought I would just use the bottle compartments like that (setting the bottles only halfway down the bottle pocket on the plastic 'shelf' rather than all the way down to the bottom of the pocket) but when you place two 9-oz. bottles at the top of an already top-heavy bag, it makes it nearly impossible to keep the bag upright. Besides, even if keeping the bag upright wasn't an issue, there is no reason to have this size bottle compartment if you can only use the top half. When you shove the bottle past the plastic 'shelf' that is sticking into the compartment, it causes it to buckle in the middle of the bag's main compartment and anything items you have put in the main compartment gets jumbled all over because the bottom of the bag is now curved up in the middle rather than being straight across as it is when there are no bottles in the insulated pockets. (It's also worth noting, this plastic bottom is sewn into the bag, so it can't be simply removed to solve this problem.) This is an issue I would overlook on a cheaper bag, but at almost $100, I would not expect such an obvious design flaw.

I really haven't had much of a chance to use this bag yet, but I wanted to write a review now because I almost didn't buy this bag based on other reviews that said that the insulated side pockets are partially blocked by a plastic piece. I wanted to use these side pockets not only for bottles and sippy cups, but also for my own personal water bottles and for a thermos that I use to carry warm water for mixing formula. If the plastic piece sticks out, as the reviewers said it would, I wouldn't be able to fit my water bottle or thermos in. Everything else about the bag seemed amazing, but this one aspect of not having the full-size side insulated pockets almost turned me away. I'm really glad that I ordered the bag to see for myself because this plastic piece is not an issue at all in the bag that I received. I can place full size water bottles, my thermos, wide mouth bottles, sippy cups, etc with no problem at all. Skip Hop must have either corrected the problem or maybe the reviewers who had this problem had flawed bags?

Also, regarding the reviews that said this bag is very top heavy and tips over all the time, I will agree that is true, but it is also true of the Skip Hop Duo, which I used for 2 years and absolutely loved. Prop it up against the park bench, a table leg, the wall, whatever. It's not annoying enough to deduct a star in my review.

I love my Bento bag! I have three children under 5, so my needs vary from diapers and bottles to snacks, toys, and sippy cups. I've found that with other diaper bags, I always had to carry a handbag in addition to a diaper bag when I was out with all three kids at one time. I can use my Bento to carry everything, including my own personal items. The best thing is that I can actually find things when I need them. The bottom compartment allows me to keep the snacks away from the other contents of my bag which not only simplifies my life, but keeps the rest of the bag crumb-free! It's stylish, functional, and just WORKS. It's as if the designers got into my head and created the perfect bag to suit my needs! I wouldn't expect anything less from Skip Hop

Summary of below: It's a great bag that fits a huge amount of items. I highly recommend it!

I had the Skip Hop Studio Diaper Bag Tote Bag, Pewter Dot for 5 months, but I found it just didn't have the storage I needed. I could never find my diapers and wipes fast enough, nor was the "Mommy" section of the purse large enough. However, since it was such a well-made, stylish bag, I decided to go with another SkipHop bag.

The Bento Diaper Tote has so much going for it! I've had it for 2 months, but I'm sorry I didn't get it sooner!

1. The straps are all long enough to fit over a shoulder, and the long strap allows you to carry the bag messenger style for a more hands-free experience.

2. The bottle pockets are huge. I've never had the problem the other reviewers mentioned about the bag not allowing items to go to the bottom. I actually use the included ice packet in the pocket with my bottles to keep them cold.

3. The bottom section that holds the food cooler/ice packet is amazing! My daughter is only 7 months old, so we don't really need the cooler feature yet. Instead, I keep all my diapering needs down there so they are easy to get to. It fits 6 disposable diapers, 2 cloth diapers, 1 wet wipes travel case, 1 small tube of Boudreaux's Butt Paste, Diaper Rash Ointment, Tube 4 oz (113 g), a wetbag dispenser, and an extra onsie. Yeah it's both large and well-planned. By keeping something in the lower pocket, the bag never falls over like other reviewers mentioned.

4. There are 3 pockets I use as "Mommy" pockets. In the large lower one on the middle-front of the bag I keep all my makeup, chapsticks, kleenexes, etc... The pocket just above it is small and semi-hidden, so I keep my car keys and cell phone in there. Then there is a fairly large pocket just in front of the main compartment of the diaper bag where I keep my "big" wallet (hold my checkbook, coupons, etc...). It has room for a lot more, but I like to keep that pocket zipped unless I need it so I don't put anything else in there.

5. The main compartment is huge and well organized. It has 7 little elasticized pockets around it with an open center space. Since the bag has the lower zip out compartment, it's not so deep you can't access anything. Also, since the rest of the bag is so well organized, I don't have to carry a lot in here. Just a feeding spoon, a few toys, easy-grab burp rag, camera, wallet, sunbonnet and sunglasses, my sunglasses, etc... When I want to, I stick my laptop in the middle section and it fits perfectly!

6. The bag is so well-styled! I have the olive green color, and military details have been "in" for while now. I have a pretty neutral style anyways, and this bag fits right in. No, it's not as dressy as my old bag and I might feel a little strange carrying it to the wedding I am attending soon, but my husband will carry it without a problem and he refuses to hold my purses for even a second! It basically looks like a messenger bag.

I haven't tried out the cooler yet because I have no needed it, so I cannot comment on that. I basically see if as a bonus item since the bag itself is so amazing!

The only negative I can this of is that the long shoulder strap doesn't have padding, and if the buckle is at the exact right length, it will hit your shoulder painfully. You just have to tighten or loosen it 2 inches to fix that problem when it arises.

If you don't want a large bag, this is NOT for you. But if you are like me and you tend to pack everything you can (including 6 diapers for one baby, along with 4 toys, etc...), this bag is PERFECT! I imagine it would be great if you had more than one child, also, as it gives you separate compartments for their different needs and plenty of space to carry everything in.

My son is now 8 months old and this bag still suits our needs. I have used this bag since I packed his things for the hospital. I use Dr. Brown's 8oz standard bottlesDr. Brown's 3 Pack BPA Free Polypropylene Bottle, 8 oz, and I am able to fit two in each of the insulated side pockets, despite them being slightly taller than usual bottles, or one bottle with an ice pack. When he was eating breast milk, the insulated pockets worked well with an ice pack to keep the milk cold until feeding.

Until baby was old enough for solids, we used the bottom pocket (meant for the meal kit/ice pack) for extra diaper storage. Now that he is eating solids, we use it for its intended purpose, and keep the diapers inside. The meal kit that comes with the bag works well I have had no problems with the food containers leaking, despite the fact that they pop on and off, instead of screwing on an off (an initial concern of mine.). Also, I like the fact that you can buy an extra meal kit. I own two extras and use them for feeding at the house as well as on the go. Skip Hop Bento Mealtime Kit, Black I make homemade baby food and freeze in ice cubes. In the morning, I pack his lunch and dinner in the meal kit for Grandma's and they are still cold by dinner time, so she doesn't have to rush home to put the food in the fridge. Also, works nicely if we are spending the entire day running errands, etc and don't have time to go home to the fridge. This bag really makes using homemade baby food convenient which is important to us.

I did rate it as only 4 stars, because sometimes, it seems like it could be a little bigger. I also use cloth diapers, which I understand take up more space, so maybe this is my fault. ;) Inside, I can fit a small pack of wipes, the included changing pad, some bum genius diapers bumGenius One-Size Cloth Diaper Grasshopper, a formula container Sassy On The Go Formula Dispenser, Colors May Vary a few extra paci's and one or two outfits. It all fits, but you have to use some strategy to get it all in, and I'm usually not able to zip the bag (not a big deal to me).

It has stroller straps that clip onto my stroller conveniently, as well as shoulder straps and an optional strap to carry it like a messenger, which is very nice when you are lugging around a heavy car seat and little one.

It also has a small pocket that fits an iPhone nicely, and a larger pocket on the front of the bag that I keep some extra wipes in, so I have easy access. The phone pocket is at the top of the bag which makes it easy to get to your phone when its hanging on the stroller.

All in all, I am really satisfied with this bag. I am able to pack a whole day's worth of formula, bottles, food, diapers, and clothes in one compact bag and not have to worry about where everything is. Initially, I wanted the black one, because I thought it was the most gender-neutral and my husband would help carry it too. When we went to buy it, he picked out the goldenrod color and now I am glad to have it, it looks a little more unique.
