Petite Creations 8 Count Baby Cubes, 1 Ounce

Petite Creations 8 Count Baby Cubes, 1 OunceWe were still in the hospital and had been parents about half a day when we told someone we planned to puree our own food so that we didn't have to pay for all of those Gerber jars. Someone told us about putting baby food in ice cube trays, the advantage being that you could freeze as many squares worth of food as you need and it would stay fresh, then as the baby gets older, when you go to feed him or her you grab x squares of food.

Of course, as soon as we'd received that piece of advice, someone was telling us otherwise -that you need to somehow cover the ice cube trays so that bacteria doesn't get in there, to prevent freeze burn, and besides that, it's hard to break out just a couple of cubes from an ice cube tray. You can twist and pop an ice cube tray but you never know how many are going to come loose at once. Plus it's not like an automatic ice maker and you can just dispense a few squash cubes; you need something to carry them in.

This product solves almost all of the concerns of the original ice cube tray suggestion. We still puree sweet potato or green beans and put it in the little containers. It's fresher than the Gerber stuff and less expensive, with no preservatives. Since each cube comes out of the tray and has a lidded plastic container, it's convenient to grab a handful of them for a day trip and then pull them out and use them as needed. As they defrost in the car, I can even feed our daughter right out of the plastic container.

Now of course, none of this guarantees your kid is actually going to EAT what you've prepared for them, but that's not the fault of the containers; that's just how babies are sometimes.

I started out using these, but had problems with the lids popping open in the freezer. They also don't stand well in their trays. As my baby got bigger, I needed bigger cubes, so I tried the 2 oz cubes expecting the same problems. I love the 2 oz cubes better. The lids are deeper so that they snap and stay on better...and trays are deeper so that they stand in the fridge/freezer better. If you're going to buy cubes for freezing baby food, go with the 2 oz. You'll use them eventually and they have 1 oz measurements on the side if you absolutely need it. I gave these 3 stars because I do love the fact that they're BPA free and allow me to freeze and heat them without any worries.

These have just been great! I had heard about freezing food in ice cube trays and then putting them into a freezer bag for keeping longer but I liked the convenience of feeding from the same container. I bought three sets to start and filled them up in a week. I just wish I had a few more. I plan to get the 2 ounce size also. Just don't go over the "max" fill line or they pop open because of the expanding food.

I usually take one day a week to cook and puree enough fruits and veggies to last the week, purchasing what fresh produce is in season, or fresh-frozen alternatives. Just one hour in the kitchen once a week is all the time I spend on making baby food, and I love that. I didn't love these food storage cubes, however.

Like other reviewers, I found that the lids rarely stayed in place, whether in the freezer or the fridge, and if you filled a cube even barely above the line, the lid will pop open in the freezer due to expansion. Don't toss one in your diaper bag for even short outings, either, or you'll have a mess on your hands.

I found that 1-ounce cubes were much too small for my baby's needs. Filling up 2 trays of these cubes didn't last us a week. My daughter is a healthy eater and it wasn't long before 1 ounce of food didn't satisfy her, and it became a pain to thaw and heat several cubes at once. One ounce is about the size of an ice cube and if you want portions that small, it would be easier to fill a standard ice cube tray, freeze, then pop the cubes out and store in a freezer bag.

Also, washing these little cubes by hand was a hassle for me, especially when there are so many other baby items in my life that need hand-washing. To put them in the dishwasher, you have to place them in a basket and they often would nest within each other during the wash cycle and not become clean, or the heat would warp them. The plastic stained easily, too, especially with orange foods.

I eventually purchased several packs of Gladware 4-ounce round containers. These are a nice size, a bit larger than baby food jars, so a few containers in the fridge would last us through several meals for a day or 2, and the rest went in the freezer. Before bed each night, I would pull a few more containers from the freezer to thaw in the fridge for the next day. Fast, easy, convenient. They also wash up nicely in the dishwasher and I've never had one pop open in the diaper bag.

Occasionally one of the blue Gladware lids with crack from having been frozen, heated, and washed repeatedly, but they're so inexpensive that tossing one in the recycling bin now and then wasn't a lot of money down the drain.

Baby #2 is on the way and I look forward to refining my homemade baby food routine ... but I wont be using these cubes! Time to buy some more Gladware containers.

Hi, I bought these, thought they looked practical and sounded good. well I have used them for the first time, filled them below the line and placed them on the tray in the freezer next morning all the lids had popped open.

Acidentally dropped one as I took it out of the freezer today and the lid smashed off.

Not happy with this product at all.

I wish I had thought of the ice-cube tray and then slipping into zip-lock freezer bags I wouldn't have wasted my money on these.

And to top it all off I bought two trays!!

green sprouts 0-6 Months Waterproof Absorbent Terry Print Bib, 5 Pack

green sprouts 0-6 Months Waterproof Absorbent Terry Print Bib, Girl, 5 PackWhen I first saw these it stated 0-3 months. I being a new mom bought them because I thought it would be useful and a good size for a newborn. It was a waste because I had already purchased another green sprouts set for a better value. This only comes with 5 bibs and the other came with 10. If I had known the proper size then I wouldn't have purchased these. On the label it says from 3-12months.

these bibs are great, the only ones i use. my little guy started drooling at about 2 months so i have to have a bib on him all the time or his clothes are wet. these are cute and waterproof without that horrible plastic backing. highly recommend.

I put one of these on my son daily since he is teething and likes to chew on everything and drools a lot. They are waterproof w/out the "crunchy" noise, very soft, easy to wash and he likes to chew on them. They do the job. I bought another set of the various colors so I have 15 of these and love them all.

These are well made and longer than most bib which really covers well. The interior plastic layer makes it stylish and functional.

Skip Hop Splash

Skip Hop Splash - WhiteI bought one the Marine rack for myself and the white for my sister. We both had the same problem. Water pools in the bottom layer and molds. Yes, I empty out the water that accumulates throughout the day, but some water stays there. We both have "retired" this bottle rack to our cabinets.

The design is beautiful and perfect for a modern kitchen. I now have The First Years drying rack and while it clashes with overall "tone" of the house, it is more practical. Luckily, I breastfeed so I do not have to use the rack too often except to dry the pump parts.

I think this product fills a void in the market (come on designers... give us some non-baby looking modern products), however mold/mildew is not worth it to me.

I have been using this bottle drying unit for several months for my twins and I really like the way the racks turn separately so I can get at every angle. The bottles, nipples and rings fit onto the various prongs well. It drains well and cleans up well...no standing water like some next-to-the-sink drying racks. It is one of my favorite baby products and recommend it to my soon-to-be mommy friends. I do not use the brush as I have found others that fit the bottles better so I can't speak to the durablilty of it.

it is very sturdy but the brush broke after only 3 weeks. i have searched the web and can't find anywhere to buy a replacement brush for this item so the whole thing doesn't look quite as good with a brush that doesn't match.

Water does pool, as other reviewers note, but my bigger problem is how quickly the plastic degrades. I've used this for about a year, and every few times when I clean it another piece of the center structure (where the sections screw together) cracks and breaks off. I don't think I'm particularly hard on this, and like very much the way it looks. But now the bottom plate has cracked in the middle. I sure hoped I'd be able to get through sippy cups and into commuter mugs, but I guess not!

NOT WORTH THE MONEY, AND I ONLY GIVE IT TWO STARS, BUT SINCE I EDITED MY REVIEW, IT WON'T LET ME CHANGE THE NUMBER OF STARS I GAVE IT (I first reviewed it when I was using smaller glass bottles with not as many parts). Yes, it's better for glass bottles than the collapsible ones, but it's NOT at all good for BORN FREE (or any other wide neck bottles) bottles because you can only fit them on every other upright (they're too wide to go right next to each other), and there's no room for all of the other venting pieces that come with Born Free bottles. The two bottom pieces are too small to hold much, and things fall off of them!

Plum Organics Little Yums Teething Wafers

Plum Organics Little Yums Teething Wafers, Pumpkin Banana, 3 OunceInitially, I bought Baby Mum Mums teething wafers for my baby but I stopped buying them once I realized that they were made in Guangzhou, China. I have seen countless recent news articles about problems with quality control in Chinese factories. So, I happily switched to plum organics teething biscuits, which are baked in Italy. They are made with whole grain buckwheat and real fruit & veggies. They easily dissolve in my baby's mouth and my baby likes the flavor, as well. I think that gnawing on them soothes her gums. They are also portable and easy to pack along.

description says product is made of buckwheat but doesn't mention that the first ingredient is "organic rice flour", a.k.a. arsenic.

My 1 year old just got his first teeth last week. I got some of these teething biscuits on sale to try them out; wasn't expecting him to love them so much! He squeals in excitement when I pull one out! :-) They keep my little guy busy if I need to finish cooking dinner or something else; they last him at least 5-10 minutes per cracker. I really like that these biscuits don't crumble or make a mess, and don't break off in large chunks (rather they get softened & "chewed" down). I appreciate the fact that they are organic and have some veggies in them. I highly recommend them!

Honest Kids Good Grape Kids Drink ( 4x8/6.75OZ)

Honest Kids Good Grape Kids DrinkWe eat healthy. That means my kids drink very little juice and zero soda. By very little I mean I never buy it, they might have some at a friend's house or a party or something. Generally they drink only milk or water. But that means they feel left out when the other kids have sugar-filled juice boxes or caprisuns. Enter Honest Kids! Yes, they have sugar in them, that's what I like. Go look at a box of 'Roaring waters' that has artificial sweeteners (and sugar too, something I never could quite figure out). I would rather my children had a small amount of real sugar than artificial sweeteners. Since they are used to drinking only water otherwise, they like these, they don't complain they taste watered down. In fact if you compare these to a typical CapriSun, its kind of like the difference between a Vitamin Water and Gatorade. When you are used to Vitamin water, (original) Gatorade is going to taste sickly sweet, if you are used to Gatorade, Vitamin water is going to taste like water with slight flavor. Ask yourself which you want your children to be used to?

I've seen other reviewers complain that they are hard to open or messy my 6 and 8 year olds have no problems with them. They put the straw in themselves and don't have a problem spilling them.

Now they don't feel left out when everyone else has a juice box, and I feel good about the amount of sugar they are taking in. At only 40 calories and no artificial sweeteners, this is exactly what I've been looking for!

Earlyears Lil Shopper Play Set

Earlyears Lil Shopper Play SetMy folks bought this little bag of groceries for my 8-month old son, and it has been a huge hit ever since. He loves playing with everything in the bag--the banana you can "peel," the chiming apple, the crinkly cabbage, the orange that opens--even the bag. His absolute favorite is the milk carton, which is smooth and smooshy and has a little mirror. I think it feels good on his gums (he's teething ferociously).

Highly recommend for a gift for little ones!

We bought this as a half-birthday present for my six month old son. We live in a small house and don't have a whole lot of room for a ton of toys, so when we shop for him, we make an effort to find toys that will keep him busy for a long time without taking up too much space.

This set definitely fits the bill. It's small enough that I often carry it around in my backpack when we're out and about during the day. For him, it's really six toys in one-he'll play with each of the foods individually, then play with the bag.

The foods themselves have a lot of play potential. My son is still at the stage where he mostly likes to chew on them, crinkle the crinkly bits, and whack things with the foods. But as he gets older, I expect he'll start exploring the objects a little more, starting to find things like the mirror in the milk container, the way the banana peels, etc.

The only thing I _don't_ like about the set: the material that covers the apple is a sort of nylon, and as my little guy chews on it, it's starting to look distinctly fuzzy. Still seems safe, but I'm surprised how worn it looks after relatively little play. (This is not a problem with the other foods, though, which all still look great.)

Overall, I'd definitely recommend it for a 6 month old, and I think a 1 year old would still have fun with it as well.

I bought this for my niece's first birthday. She loved it!!! The bag is soft and the grocery items are so cute. It was a little smaller than I thought it would be but is the perfect size for her. I would highly recommend this gift for a little boy or girl. It is also a good way to teach kids about fruits and vegetables...which I didn't think about until just now.

This product is great. The toys all have different feels to them, different functions, and some make noise. My 1-year old loves it and she carries the bag around everywhere. I would definitely recommend this product.

Want Earlyears Lil Shopper Play Set Discount?

The toy itself is super adorable. The grocery bag is brown felt, the orange is a corduroy type material that opens to reveal the 'inside' of an orange. The banana is felt and the little peel has Velcro on the ends so you can peel and unpeel it. The apple is this silky spandex type material that has a sweet little jingle on the inside. The cauliflower has those crinkly leaves that babies seem to think are a drug because they just can't get enough of the sound, and the little milk jug is vinyl which opens up at the top to reveal a little mirror. So sweet and adorable. And we don't let our daughter play with it because it has a horrible smell of formaldehyde. My mom got this for her last Christmas (2010) and it STILL smells. We have allowed it to 'air out' for months. It makes me so darn sad because I know she'd love it. I hope I'm the only one with this problem.

Happy Baby Organic Baby Food Stage 3 Mama Grain -- 4 oz

Happy Baby Organic Baby Food Stage 3 Mama Grain -- 4 ozI've tried pretty much every type of organic pouch food currently available with my toddler son. I like all of the Happy Baby foods EXCEPT for this Mama Grain. Yuck. I bought a multi-pack of these and have tried to force my son to eat this one. But I really can't blame him for disliking it -I've tasted all of the Happy Baby meals and this one just makes me gag, which is a bummer since this is the only pouch meal that seems to be appropriate for breakfast. Would recommend avoiding Mama Grain.

Obviously all babies have different taste preferences so far be it from me to criticize the other reviewer's assessment of this product; however, my baby loves this flavor and I do too. I love that it is black beans and quinoa because it saves me from having to open a whole can of beans or cook a whole pot of quinoa just for one serving of baby food. I suppose one could make large batches ahead of time and freeze, but my freezer is overflowing with baby purees! From what my son has tried of this line of food he has liked. I look forward to trying more flavors.

My baby HATED this when he was first ready to move on past the stage 2 foods. The texture is very different because of the quinoa. He also didn't liked purees with chunks. Now he's 17 months old and LOVES this pouch (which I saved for 8 months since I also bought a multi-pack). I transfer it to a bowl and he uses a spoon to eat it. It's great because it doesn't fall off the spoon very easily. It's very sweet, and maybe too strong flavored for the little ones.

Lansinoh mOmma Mealtime Warm Plate, GreenThis is a nice warming bowl. Double compartments are nice. I like that it is rather deep and you can mix baby cereal in the dish while it is warming. This plate is wonderful for keeping baby and toddler food warm while they sometimes take so long to eat, it's so easy, just add hot water from the tap into the hole, put the plug in, and add the food, let it warm up a bit, and serve. I bought my daughter this one and the "green sprouts Warming Plate" as an alternative to keep in her diaper bag for travel. She loves them both. ~~D.Maher New England

Skip Hop Zoo Pack Little Kid Backpack

Skip Hop Zoo pack Little Kid Backpack, LadybugThe backpack itself is adorable. I got it for my daughter who is in Kindergarten and she loves it. The only problem, and it is a significant one, is that it's not big enough to hold a single standard 8.5"x11" size folder. Which is quite disappointing for both of us. She really wants to wear it to school, but can't because her homework folder won't fit. If they would have made it just a couple of inches larger, the folder would fit perfectly and it would probably be the best backpack ever. That couple of inches difference makes it unusable for us.

If you don't need to fit anything in there that's as large as an unfolded sheet of standard size paper in there, I would recommend this backpack.

This bag is super cute and seems well-made but it is small... I bought it for preschool for my 4-year old but I would say it's more appropriate for a toddler sleepover bag or something along those lines. It is much too short to fit a folder and you'd have to fold up a piece of paper or art project to fit it inside. He loves it so I think I'll keep it but I might have to buy a different one for preschool. If I had bought it as a toddler carryabout bag I would have given it 5 stars for that purpose!

This backpack is so cute I can hardly stand it. But be warned that it is definitely a backpack made for toddlers, not really for school-age children. I use it mainly to cart around my 2 year-old son's toys and books in my car in case I need to keep him entertained somewhere but there is not a whole lot of room in the backpack.

I bought the dog backpack for my two year old son. He's about 35" tall and it's still slightly big for him, but at least it will last him a while. It's absolutely adorable and it's perfect for short trips. It holds a few diapers, some wipes, a toy and a snack with no problem. One of my favorite features is the cupholder on the side for sippy cups. I was initially a little worried about the material because it is so light in color. I figured it would be filthy in no time, but to my surprise, it wipes clean very easily. I looked at a lot of toddler backpacks before I bought this one and I'm happy with my purchase.

I love this cute little back pack. My son is 1 and we use it to carry his daily supplies back and forth to daycare and as a substitute diaper bag. He likes the bright colors and he knows it's his bag. We get lots of compliments on it where ever we go. It's the perfect size for a toddler and the straps are adjustable. It's sturdy and well made, and though it's on the small side, it holds just the right amount of stuff, (which for us is a lot since I'm an over-packer anyway). The name-tag inside didn't bleed and run when I wrote my son's name on it like most fabric tags do. The front pocket is great for the things you need more frequently like kleenux, and small toys, and it has a loop you can hook your keys onto. The side pouch is the perfect fit for a sippy cup. I so glad I got this; I just ordered the matching lunchbox and if I'm half as happy with it as I am with this backpack I'll be really pleased.

Two weeks after I posted this review, and after barely 2 months of use, the zipper for the main compartment broke. I was heartbroken. I searched everywhere for the receipt so I could call for a possible replacement, but no luck. I spent an hour trying to repair it, which to my amazement, I eventually did, but now I feel that it's fragile and I'm waiting for it to break again. So I wanted to add this warming. Do not over-pack and stretch the zipper, it's only plastic and will stretch and bend. Keep an eye on the teeth as you can see them separating and that is your warning of impending breakage.

I know this is made for little kids, but if I was the maker of this product I think that I would use a metal zipper for the main compartment as they are stronger and can take a lot more abuse than a plastic one.

I still love and would recommend this product, I'd just be a little more careful with it.

It's now been 9 months since I repaired the zipper and I haven't had a single problem with it since then. And, we LOVE the lunch box just as much as the backpack.
