I generally like green sprout products. However, I wish that I had known in advance that these are not for long term use. The package specifically states that these can be washed up to 10 times in the dishwasher, or by hand wash for longer use. We've had these for a couple weeks and they are already wearing down. By this I mean that they are no longer hard utensils, but are maliable enough for a 15 month old to bend them in half (which he did by merely trying to stab a piece of cheese with a fork).

Don't waste your money on these. If you want utensils made from natural materials go for Dandilion's products we have a couple Dandilion utensils that we got when our son was 5 months old and are still in great condition (despite being bitten, thrown, pounded against trays and furniture, etc.)

I actually like these utensils quite a bit. They're good size, made from corn, and even though they need to be hand-washed, they manage to last quite a while (we're on our second package in 8 months). As a bonus, if you're using them while out to eat and forget to take one off a plate, it's no big deal because they're so inexpensive and environmentally friendly. Great for moms who are dubious of plastic (like me).

Great "green" product and doesn't break easily like other utensils made from cornstarch that I've tried, however, the sizes are small for my 2.5 year old's mouth and doesn't pick up/hold much food. It may be better for a beginning solid food eater rather than an advanced eater. It is gentle for little mouths and come in fun colors with smiley faces on the utensils.
