We are now past the baby food stage so I may have missed this if it was formally announced, but I recently heard that they switched packaging in late 2011 to be completely BPA free. I confirmed this with customer service. Leaving the remaining review as it was...

My wife had made her own baby food for our daughter for the first eight months. Then, when our daughter was going to begin daycare, there was a certain convenience factor of being about to send in jars of baby food for her and so we bought Earth's Best. It was organic, and figured to be the closest bought brand to what she had been making herself. The variety packs are a nice, easy way to stock different kinds for our baby to enjoy... and enjoy she did for several of the flavors, though some she hated as well. All in all, we were pleased, and baby seemed pleased.

Needless to say, I was pretty surprised to read the review about BPA in the lids. I spent some time trying to verify this myself. A lot of different blogs stated it, and while I couldn't find anything definitive, here's what bothered me: Clearly Earth's Best knows people are concerned about BPA in their lids... their own facebook site is littered with people asking this same question. The admin answers these the same way... food safety and baby health is of the highest priority, call us to discuss. That's only slightly paraphrased. Going to their website, they have zero articles on BPA and none in the FAQs section either... nothing. I'm not worried enough about the issue to stop using what we purchased, but I would have felt a whole lot better about the company and their products if they would acknowledge parents' concerns and tell parents... something. Hey, we check our food in laboratory testing regularly and the the amount of BPA found in our food is X, which is so low, there are no health concerns... just say something... anything. Do you really want the onus on the customer to contact you to keep using your product?

As I was taking the time to review their product, I decided I would call them to give them a fair chance to explain. Something, I likely wouldn't have done if I wasn't writing a review. Their office was closed... 9AM 7PM est. Not the most convenient times for a working parent, but I will attempt to follow up and update this accordingly.

Just spoke to someone from customer service. She says that the liner that comes into contact with the food is BPA free, but that there is another section of the lid behind this liner, that does contain BPA, but that section of the lid does not come in contact with the food. I'm sure not everyone will be okay with that answer, but I'm ok with it. I still think it should be an answer that's readily available to consumers without calling them, but I will say there was no hold time at least.

I ordered this because I really like this brand and I have never had any issue with them. My son usually like all the flavors. I ordered this and the pears were sour/spoiled. The other flavors my son refused to eat. I am sure there was something wrong with it. So I am not sure what happened but I will NOT be buying these online anymore.

I have been very pleased with this variety pack of baby food. The pack contains three each of pears, peaches oatmeal banana, apples and apricots, and peaches bananas and raspberries. My 6 1/2 month old daughter loves all of them, especially the peaches bananas and raspberries! I have been very satisfied with Earth's best with one exception. The metal lids have a lining that contains BPA (as do ALL lids on glass babyfood jars), so if you're set on staying away from BPA, you'll want to get your baby food from companies that make pouches, like HappyBaby and Plum Organics. I make a lot of my own babyfood, so I feel that feeding her SOME food from glass jars is acceptable, especially for varieties that I can't make. I do also buy a lot of HappyBaby, and I'm very satisfied with the quality there also. All in all though, a very nice variety of good tasting fruits!

I was disappointed to find out that the LIDS of Earth's Best jarred foods are coated with an epoxy lining that contains BPA :(

I thought I was avoiding the whole BPA issue because these are in glass rather than plastic containers. If it's in the lids, it's going to get in the food as the food moves around in the jar during packaging, shipping, storage, etc. I was planning on being a devoted Earth's Best jarred food user because it was organic and in glass, but then I found out about the BPA. As a note, if BPA doesn't bother you, most of Earth's Best food is tasty.

These trays are easy to use, easy to clean and perfect portions! I don't have a single complaint! They make baby food making a breeze! I got 2 orders (2 in an order) for a total of 4. Making large batches is the most economical and efficient way to go.

My son is only eating breastmilk right now, and buying storage bags for my milk was getting rather pricey. This stores the milk into little cubes that can be stored in a bigger cheaper ziplock bag. Amazing product. 6mth old little girl really cannot get enough of these. They work very well for snack time and for a fussy baby that needs to drink her formula but needs to be settled first.

We love how compact this travel highchair is. We can put it in the basket of our stroller and whip it out as needed; it could probably even fit in a regular backpack or a very large diaper bag. The foldaway design is genius and we like the fact that it comes with/fits in its own small bag. We sold our Chicco 360 seat after getting this one, since this one is so much more portable.

That said, the two downsides to this otherwise very nicely-designed product are:

1) The included tray doesn't lock to the seat. While it's GREAT that a tray was even included, we would love if it locked into place with the seat so our little one couldn't push it out and overturn/fling it.

2) Because the way it connects to the table are basically two heavy duty clamps, it only works on tables without a lip. We've found we're able to use it only 50% of the time when dining out due to this, plus the regular restrictions when using a hook-on chair (not on a tippy pedestal table, etc.). This is a pretty big downer because not being able to use it in so many instances defeats the purpose of having it and the convenience of its small size.

After owning this for over a month I haven't been able to get much use out of it. Like the other reviews said, it doesn't work everywhere. This seat has more of a clamp than a hook so if the table has a lip it won't fit around it. so far I've only been able to use it about 40% of the time. The tray is also mostly useless. It doesn't clip into the seat. It just kind of sits in between the clamps. My 15 month old knows this so I stopped using the tray to just avoid having to pick up the tray and the food that was on it off the floor.

It does have some upgrades over the Phil & Teds Metoo chair. Extra padding and the storage bag with handle (although a very short handle) are a plus. I had a Metoo for a couple of years and have no complaints. After it was stolen I decided to hold off and wait for this one to come out. But in my opinion you might as well get the Metoo and save a bit of cash.

I had already purchased the Inglesina Fast Chair. Our daughter has been using the Fast Chair since about four months and loves sitting in it. We get compliments on it when we are in restaurants and its fairly easy to clamp on with big rubber top and bottom clamps to protect tables.

But we decided that we'd probably prefer a snap on table with a tray as our daughter enters the "messy-eating-by-herself" stage. Enter the P&T Lobster. The P&T looks more stylish, is sleek, and has some serious clamp-on ability -I certainly liked it better than the Inglesina. The only problem I had is that my daughter didn't! She's now 8 months old and a little over 26 inches tall. When she sits in the Inglesina she can easily see and manipulate items on the table in front of her, rest her arms on the chair sides, etc. There is still room to grow but she fits in it. In the P&T Lobster, the seat is so deep that she was drowning in it and while her head was still higher than the table top, she could no longer see things as well to interact with them. As a result, she doesn't like being in the chair and we've had to return it.

It's possible the P&T will work beautifully for older children, but for our sizeable 8 month old, it was just too deep.

One last thing, while this chair does have a tray, the tray simply slides in (and back out!) easily and has pretty small sides for holding food in. I didn't see a way to clip it to the chair or cause it to stay put when you have a wiggling kid trying to move everything around. It didn't strike me as a particularly solid or useful tray. I'm going with a tinydiner mat and the Inglesina for now until I find something better.

I bought this because a local burger restaurant was using them as high chairs for their booths. I really liked how it put my daughter right up to the table so she felt like she was part of the party. So I decided to pick one up for my family. We use it every time we out. The couple of advantages you have to it right off the bat are as I said before, it puts your kid right up next to the table, so you don't have to worry about them sliding under the table. Secondly, it's yours and not a community high chair. So it can only be dirtied by your kid and don't have to worry about how sanitary it is like restaurant high chairs as long as you keep it clean. Thirdly, I don't have to worry about lugging a big high chair or someone having to borrow a highchair when visiting family. My only knock on it is that I wish it had a better way to stow the arms when not in use. Right now they swing around wildly and you have to either hold them together when you carry the chair or use a bungy cord to wrap around them as to keep them together. Other than that I love this thing. Just note, this chair only works on square or rectangular tables, so you need to be conscious of that if you are buying one for your house or when you are being seated at a restaurant.

I'm a self proclaimed germ-a-phobe, and countless times, I've tried to wipe off a restaurant high chair, only to be disgusted by the dirt, grime, and who knows what else, comes off the chairs that they never, ever clean. I have owned a couple different high chair covers though my 3 children, but my last child happens to be a very active little girl who manages to spin around in the high chair and takes the cover with her, to the point where it's covering nothing and her bare hands are all over the nasty high chair. I got this as a last resort, and I LOVE it. I wish I had this when my other kids were little. I no longer have to worry about other kids germs, slobber, food coming in contact with my baby's little hands! I love that she sits in the booth with me, instead of stuck at the end of the table where people are walking by and servers are passing over her head with trays of food and drinks. So far, I have only been to 1 place where the seat didn't work, and that was because the table was like 6 inches thick. The seat is very easy to attach to tables and my daughter really seems to like it. My only 2 complaints: #1 The tray is worthless. it is easily pushed out by a baby and not even worth having. It might be better when she gets older and isn't so interested in moving it out of the way. For now, I just put down those disposable placemats with the sticky stuff on the back. P&T needs to make it so the tray clips on to the seat clamps. And #2 there really should be a small carrying bag for the seat. I wouldn't stick this in my diaper bag....there's no room for it. So I just have it in a small canvas bag. P&T should have had a bag with something like this. Other than those 2 things, it's great! I look forward to getting a few years of use out of it.

This is a great lunchbox for dry food and food that is large enough not to fall between the gap (Cheerios would be too small and would mix with other food in the compartments). My 3 year old likes it, and she can open it easily. It has been washed in the dishwasher a few times and still looks good. I'll have to see how it lasts long term thoughwe've only had it a month so far.

I bought this thinking I would go with the bento craze now that my oldest child is in school. While the cute bento them lasted a couple of weeks, the lunch box has lasted longer.

The only reason I give four stars instead of five is due to the fact that even with gentle hand washing, the cute owls started showing scratches and chips after only a month of use, but that might also be due to being in the hands of a five-year-old.

Earth's Best Organic Fruit Yogurt Smoothie Baby Food - Mixed Berry - 4.2 Oz. Pouch

I was browsing the isles of a fresh and Easy Market this evening and spotted some small squeezable containers of fruit and yogurt. They were called Earth's Best Organic Fruit Yogurt Smoothie and come in 4.2-ounce packets. I immediately thought of my little 4-year-old boy. He loves yogurt and likes the type he can squeeze into his mouth. So, in any case, I've never seen this brand so I thought I'd get one and try it out for him as my dessert with the evening meal. It's good. Actually, I'd prefer the Gogurt found in the dairy case, but these would work fine and make a good little snack for him.

Sassy First Solids Feeding Bowl with Spoon

I bought this set as something to take with me and be able to easily store in the fridge. Since my son is only 4 months, we are just starting solid foods, and everything is runny, so I wanted something that wouldn't leak every where. I have traveled with this container a few times now, and have not had any leaking (I do keep it stored flat in my cooler bag, with his bottles on top). I did try gently tipping it sideways and up-side-down and didn't have any oatmeal or mango puree leaking (unlike with several other items I tried). The set I received was all blue with an orange spoon(and not blue/green), but since I have a boy, it didn't really matter to me. The compartments probably hold 3-4oz each side (I only put about 1.5-2 oz in each side, and it was just about half full) so it is perfect for just starting to taste solid foods. The spoon is very rubbery, which is perfect for my son to hold and chew on, however I don't use it for feeding (I prefer the Gerber spoons, personally), my son really likes it though.

I plan on buying several more for us to use. They are great to feed from at home, or take on the go as well.

I am not sure if the bowl is microwave safe or not (I can't remember if it was on the package or not), but I have heated it for 10-15 seconds with out any issues (just to take the chill off when getting out of the fridge).

I do like this divided bowl and is good for someone with small hands like me. I got this to feed my twins as it was convenient to feed them, at the same time, from this divided bowl rather than using two separate bowls. I just wish it was slightly bigger in size. The amount of food you can get in each slot is not more than 2-3 oz roughly.

I used these bowls with my first son and I bought a new set to use with my 5 month old once he starts he eating. I love the ergonomic shape. It is easy to get a good grip holding with one hand and feeding with the other. The lid fits snug and has never leaked.

This is a great little divided bowl for babies who are just starting solids. I think the bigger side holds roughly 3-4oz and the smaller side holds roughly 2-3oz (depending on if you fill it to the brim). Once the lid is snapped on it doesn't leak (I filled both sides with water, snapped the lid on, then shook it like an animal and it never leaked) so it's great for the diaper bag. I can't say I really cared for the spoon though. I used the Boon Swap 2 Count 2 in 1 Feeding Spoon, Green/Purple and prefer those.

BUT I think the biggest caveat to this bowl is the size. Though it does fit perfectly in my hand, I wish it was a little bigger because it really doesn't hold enough food and so I was only able to use it for about a month.

I love this bowl, the spoon is a little floppy but I'm guessing it will be good for the baby to use herself once she figures that out. The bowl is a tad small but it's a good enough size for lunch for my 6 month old and the lid is secure and hasn't leaked in the diaper bag.

These carts are soooooo adorable. They are sturdy, and made of metal, with rolling wheels and the little seat to put your TINY little baby doll in. Got them for my granddaughters, who loved and adored them. We put the little Iwako food erasers in them, so they could go food shopping, with their Barbie dolls. They were a big hit with all the adults as well. Since my husband loves, and does all the food shopping in our house, and he admired them too, I will be giving one of them (the blue one which is a little bigger) to him as one of his Christmas presents and fill it with pens, pencils, etc. (I ordered 4, and each was placed in a separate clear plastic bag inside of a sturdy cardboard box with the rest of my order). Playtex Toy Story Bowl, Designs May Vary

I don't purchase bowls or plates for my children that can't be placed in the microwave. The description does not state that it is not microwaveable. Perhaps it is my fault for not making sure before purchasing it, but I wish it stated that in the description. So instead of using this bowl to serve hot food, I use it to serve snacks like corn chips or fruit.

Sassy 4 Piece Snack Cylinder

I decided to give these a try because they were the cheapest of the "snack cylinder" options out there. I have borrowed/looked at several of the other better known brands and all of them had some feature I didn't like, so I didn't think it would hurt to give the Sassy version a try. We love it!! Easy to wash, easy enough for my 3 yr old to unscrew the top (but not easy enough for the 1 yr old!), can clip the handle onto the stroller/diaper bag with a carabiner, and the perfect size for the diaper bag. I don't think the product description gave dimensions, so here they are:

Height w/o handle: 8 3/8"

Height with handle: 9 1/2"

Width (radius of lid): 3"

Capacity: 1/2 c. cheerios (sorry, that's all I measured)

My only negative, and the more we use it, the less this is a big deal, and could very well be a plus for some people and exactly what they're looking for---is that the lids are rubberized...which means it "sticks" a little as you're trying to slide it in and out of a diaper bag. While it fits fine in the side bottle pockets, for example, it's frustrating to try to get it in them in the first place, so we just put it inside the main compartment.

The reason I first wanted one was to take along little "mini meals" for our 13 mo old...and this is absolutely perfect for that, since each container can be used individually, I just pack cheese in one, fruit in another, meat in a 3rd and some veggie in the 4th...and I don't have to deal with multiple little tupperware containers floating all over the diaper bag or fridge. We used to pack in those and inevitably one or two would be left behind in the fridge, so now it's easy to tell someone to grab the "snack tower" and make sure it all gets taken with us!

For the size, convenience, and the great price, you can't go wrong! I think I'm going to start giving these away as 1st b-day presents in our family!

These little containers are pretty handy. I'm not entirely sure why you would need to connect them together ever, but that's not a drawback I suppose. I like the slightly rubbery lid because our daughter likes to throw them around and play with them and it keeps from making too much noise!

Bambinos Tidy Table Tray

I purchased the Tidy Table Tray after having borrowed one from a neighbor to use at my aunt's house (she has a glass table). It worked quite well, so I decided to use one at home. We use a high chair that doesn't have a built in tray, the child pulls right up to the table, and despite my efforts, the table top where my daughter sits was becoming a complete mess. Enter the tray. It clips on well to all tables we have tried (n=3), one of them being glass, as previously stated. It contains most messes. Further, the tray doesn't seem to mark any of the table tops we have tried. One reason I didn't give it four stars, is that the clip used to attach the tray to the table is quite large, and my child cannot quite scoot up to the table without bumping into the tray clip. I think with older and bigger children this probably isn't a problem, but my daughter is quite small for her age, and the clip does get in the way. Also, if you have a smaller child, the drop catching part of the tray impedes their movement a little bit, but I think this will resolve as my child gets older. The tray is recommended for children 18 months and older, and while my daughter is almost 20 months, she is quite small for her age. Just for reference, she's 31 inches and 18 pounds, and the top of the tray lip hits right about her mid-chest, as opposed to nearer her waist, which seems to be the desired position (according to product pictures). So, if you have a smaller child, just beware that the tray is definitely designed for bigger children. I would assume that an average size 18 month old child would do fine. One other complaint, the flexi-diner removable part of the tray is slightly difficult to remove, but after practice it gets easier. The key is to push on the bottom edge of the tray with the heel of your hand, instead of lifting like the directions suggest. We take this tray with us whenever we go out anywhere, as it is so useful. My daughter even likes to put her sippy cup in the cup holder. Washing the flexi-diner (green part) in the sink is quite easy, and, although it is dishwasher safe, I haven't tried that yet, since sink washing is quick. I imagine we will be using this tray after my daughter is beyond toddler age, as it works well as an art surface and for "fancy" tables, should you encounter those while visiting other houses. I am planning to purchase another one for our next baby.

I bought 2 of these trays for 2 and 4 year old boys to eat at the table with their Stokke chairs. (Stokke chair buyers beware: very inferior product. would suggest you stay clear and spend your money elsewhere!!) These trays do seem a bit flimsy but the design and concept is spot on. It is difficult for child to move and easy for adult hands to unclip. The movable green tray is easy to clean and snap on. the tray itself has ample room for eating a full meal and the white tray for doing play-doh/art projects on. the tray is also deep enough to let a 2 year old spill liquids in before you swoop in to remove. One minor problem we have is the green tray has a food catch area (where the tray meets child's torso) it is raised and for our youngest a bit too high as it hits his chest. I know once my son is taller like his older brother this will not be an issue. Overall I highly recommend this product and hope it lasts as long as the 2 year old needs it.

I love this table tray, and it has saved so much work for me. My son is always playing with things on the table, like messing around with the food he's eating, or roll around his sippy cup (which usually falls off the table). The tray helps contain all this mess within it and the clean up is a lot less horrible. On top of that, he's a messy eater and this tray does help catch a lot more food that's fallen off his spoon with the extra lip in front of his chest. The surface of the tray makes wiping off oily food really easy, and if it gets too messy, all i have to do is unclip it and wash it in the sink. Love this try and I can't imagine without it anymore!

Not very glamorous, but a terrifically practical baby shower gift. This is one of those "why-didn't-I-think-of-it" inventions. After cleaning up plates thrown off the table by the baby or pulled off of the table by the dog when my kids were young, I found this and knew that it would be highly valued by my soon-to-be-mommy niece.

This tray is excellent for the toddler who throws around his/her place mat.

It is held in place by a spring-hinged clip. The tray 'pops' off for washing.

The usefulness of the removable tray is limited because the tray itself clips on/off and takes about 1 second to remove. I am a bit worried that my 20 month old son will learn this trick soon. I would suggest this improvement:

Have a screw clamp instead of clip for the tray. This would be useful for several reasons (1) a toddler would not be able to remove it from the table, (2) pinched fingers would be less likely from the clip snapping shut, (3) the back side (against the toddler stomach) could be 'flat' instead of having a ledge where food accumulates in difficult to clean places.

I buy this brand consistently and have no problems. My two toddlers love every flavor I buy. I love it because I can let them eat two in a row without concern. The size and amount are just right.

If you can catch Mashups at a good price on S&S it tends to be a better deal and less hassle then say, buying them at a Babies R US or grocery store that happens to carry them. It's hard to get tots and kids to eat veggies sometimes, and what with squeeze packs being such a rage lately this Mashups flavor falls into a must have at our house. My 19 month old will eat this, it's portable, it a smoothie so babies and teething tots can handle it. USDA organic.

My veggie picky son claps when he sees the pouch. We throw these in the diaper bags when we are out and about so he gets a good-for-him snack. I don't give my son anything I wouldn't eat so I tried a taste of this. The first thing I noticed was that it tastes like apples. Whatever gets my picky boy to eat veggies is fine by me.

This is the perfect size for a toddler to have for a snack or as part of a meal. My son is always on the go and these are great portable snacks. He can carry it around and feed it to himself with very little mess. It's also nice to keep in the car or diaper bag since they have a long shelf life and don't have to be refrigerated. I like that they have 1g of fiber and are low in sugar. They are mostly apple puree (that is the first ingredient), with a few other fruits and veggies mixed in. I think having more veggies and less apple would have earned it 5 stars for me. These would be great for an older baby as well (9-12 months range).
