I found it hard to find a girls lunchbox that I liked until I saw this one. The design is super cute and has cute colors. It is well stitched. I did not give it five stars, because the lining is not as good as my sons Crocodile Creek lunchbox. The insulation is sufficient, but does not stay as cold as his. It is a little harder to wipe since the liner is not plastic. So there is a trade off between aesthetics and function.

This lunch bag is great. My daughter is 3 1/2 and she already had the owl backpack from Skip Hop. When we enrolled her in preschool she was going to need to take her lunch every day, so I got this since it matched. It IS small, but that is what I wanted because she has to carry the backpack as well. It is perfect for her, but I knew exactly what I was ordering before we got it. My daughter is provided with milk at school so I knew I would not have to send a drink. If you need to send a drink, that may be an issue. The bag is very small. However, I was able to fit a Foogoo/Funtainer thermos across the bottom of the bag with a square Tupperware sandwich container in the top part just fine. This may or may not work depending on how much your child eats! I can put a half sandwich, cheese stick and apple slices in the Tupperware container for my child. That is enough for her, but you may not be able to fit a whole lunch in that size container. If you pack a thermos you could probably fit more in if you used plastic bags or snack bags since they are not rigid containers.

Pros:

-It is small enough for a preschooler without being too cumbersome

-It's very cute!

-Matches the bookbag

-Has a mesh bag inside for holding flatware and/or an ice pack (must be a flat, soft ice pack. not a hard ice block pack)

-label inside for writing child's name and phone number

-zipper goes all the way around the bottom curve so you can completely open the top and the flap will lay open flat, not stick up. Great for packing, it doesn't flop closed.

The soft sides give a little so you can pack oddly shaped containers without damaging the lunch bag

-The handle on top has a clip so you can clip it to the backpack if necessary.

-Will fit several large rectangle shaped containers for packing bento-style lunches. Just use silicone cupcake liners to divide the inside of the container.

Cons you may notice(which were not an issue for me):

-Too small for a big eater or an older child.

-Will not hold a thermos AND a lunch, unless it is a small thermos and a container-free lunch (will fit a Funtainer and a "sandwich size" square container)

-No outer pouch for a drink or water bottle

For the price you can't beat it. It is an adorable lunch bag for a boy or girl. I can't speak for the durability since we just got it, but my daughter has been carrying the Skip Hop owl backpack for over a year now and it has held up wonderfully. When your child outgrows this as a lunch bag, it would make a great snack bag for outings.

Freshfoods Food Mill

I had issues when processing peas for my 6 month old and this food mill separated the pea shells perfectly! The device comes apart completely for an easy clean, can even feed right out of the cup once done running through the mill. I saw some electronic mills as well and to be honest this is not fancy but not fussy, efficient, and a good product. Just make sure the middle knob is screwed on tight if not the top will not open.

I'm so disappointed! I was really excited to try out this baby food mill, but the construction makes absolutely no sense---you have to dismantle the grinding apparatus just to put more food in. That's dumb. And it just doesn't work. At all. Whyyyyyy?!!

This mill works fine. I easily ground the chicken,rice and peas we had for dinner to share with baby Bonny. She loved it. It took a little play to figure out how to dismantle for washing, but it did not take a rocket scientist. The metal plate and blunt cutting blade are substantial and effective. I don't know how long it will last, but for now it's great.

I have Annabell's cook book and have been making baby food for my baby. She suggests using a food mill for items like peas so it separates it from the outer skin...however, it seems like it wastes an awful lot of the food in the process and I found my hand stick blender works better to just grind it all up smoothly.

I was surprised to find out how poorly this food mill works. There is no way she uses something this cheap to mill her baby food. You can only fit like two spoonfuls of food in it. Anymore than that it clogs up and nothing gets through. It is not easy to turn the handle while pushing hard on the base. It takes so much effort for not a lot of product in the end. I do not recommend this. Don't be fooled by her name on it.

i thought this would be useful for making chunky foods, but it's just a waste of space. just use a fork or a small food processor. you don't need this.

I wouldn't say this actually works any better than any other food masher, but non the less it does exactly what it's supposed to do and I love the green handle. It's also very well made, not a cheap piece of junk by any means.

Early Star Electronic Feeding Bowl

Purchased this product for hospital use to encourage children to eat. Product works as described and works good for us. I however feel that the sound the cow makes (with using new batteries) sounds a little "off" (more of a moaning cow sound than a distinct cow sound) and could definitley be improved upon.

I was very excited about this toy, but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed once we got it...It looks great and the idea behind it is amazing. However, suction cup on this toy really does not hold it in place which means every time you are trying to teach your child to eat from his plate it does not really work very well...In addition, the sound only comes on if you literally bang the spoon on the plate not if you just touch it during the normal food consumption process, which also makes it "less of a fun" than promised. All in all, I would not purchase this item now that I have used it.

This was a great idea, but not sure it worked out that well. The suction cup does not work at all and my son knocks this plate off his table rather quick. The first time this plate fell on the floor (since suction cup does not hold it in place), something broke inside and you can hear a loose piece, but it still works. The positive things about it that it is very easy to clean and my son loves the look of it and the flashing lights/sounds

Skip Hop Central Park Blanket

Let me start by saying I'm not normally a comparison shopper. This situation just presented itself to me in a strange internet-glitch type way. When I do make a purchase, I do like to mildly compare before a purchase. So when I was shopping for an outdoor blanket, after looking through various outdoor blankets, I was convinced that the Skip Hop blanket was the one for me. However, according to Amazon, it would take several months for me to receive it because they were backordered. I ended up making an order with Babies R Us.....which was later backordered. It was close to soccer season and I needed one right away so I ordered the JJ Cole blanket because it could be delivered within a week. I've been using the JJ Cole blanket for over a month now and I couldn't be happier with it. It's very easy to roll out and when it's time to go, roll back up. The quality is excellent. Well, Monday afternoon, the Skip Hop outdoor blanket showed up on my doorstep and I took it to soccer practice to try it out. Not too impressed. The cooler bag that goes with it is teeny-tiny and you can't fit much in it. The zipper makes it more difficult to lay out and fold back up and if you have a baby in your arms, it makes it that much more difficult. The JJ Cole blanket is cheaper in price and better in quality and it's much easier to use. I highly recommend it and I get tons of compliments on it.

The blanket component of this product is excellent. The printed material is silky smooth, almost satin-like. The underside of the blanket is a tougher polyester canvas. The blanket isn't super padded, so it is more appropriate for grassy lawns or beach sand than granite. It is easy (for the most part) to fold back up into the carrying sack as well. You can carry it by hand, shoulder style, messenger style or backpack style basically, whatever way is most comfortable. Backpack style is best if you are under 5'9 (straps are a wee bit short for backpack style if you are tall), but messenger style works even with my 6'2 husband. It is highly water resistant. It is convenient for picnics, soccer games, or any activity you might spend on a lawn. Also, when folded, you can use it as a seat pad at sporting events. The cooler component of the bag seems to be something of an afterthought. It does not expand much, so you can pretty much fit only a few sippies and maybe a sandwich or two (it is not too padded, so be sure to place squishables in a plastic or metal container). There are no interior or exterior pockets on the cooler either a pocket for ice might have been nice. When objects are placed in bag, bag takes on a lumpy appearance (again, it just isn't big enough). The front and back have minimal insulation, and the sides are not insulated insulated at all. It will keep things cool for only about 1-2 hours. Really, if the cooler bag was just a bit deeper/wider and had better insulation (or an ice pocket), it might be more useable. It is probably best as a bag to store a few diapers/wipes, a coloring book, wallet and keys instead. It would also be good storage for sunscreen and maybe a few sippies full of water if you are planning a trip to the beach. But for perishables, I'd recommend a separate cooler. I do appreciate that it is PVC and BPA-free.

This is the second easy-to-clean, waterproof blanket I tried (the J J Cole blanket was very nice, but as other reviewers commented, it smelled like petroleum/oil products, even after airing out and two washings, so I returned it for this one). This one is also BPA free. It does what it says--it's lightweight, easy to carry, and wipes up very easily. It's a little bit on the small side, but fits two adults and two babies very easily. And, because it's quilted and of stiffer material than regular cotton or wool blankets, it lies flatter on grass or uneven surfaces than regular blankets and is harder for babies to pick up with their fists and put in their mouths. I'd buy one again.

Previously, this blanket had received great reviews. Therefore I purchased it with little hesitation. I can only speculate that the company has changed their manufacturer because I am deeply disappointed.

This is for a blanket purchased in August 2011. Now, after barely 5 times of use, the blanket cover material already starts to fall apart. I have not abused the material. I have used it in the park (ironically, Central Park), without shoes, in dry weather, just sitting there with my baby, with the black side down always. Oh, and it has not yet been in the washer, either. I have uploaded photos of the blanket so that you can judge for yourself. You can see the white filling come through. The cover material is disintegrating in several places, not just along the seams.

To add insult to injury, yesterday (my 6th time of use) one of the strap holders ripped. Was I loading this bag with unreasonable weight? I packed a small bottle of water (17 fl oz, Poland spring) and 3 oz of baby milk along with a small ice pack (the Medela one) into the front pocket of the bag.

Not worth the price.

UPDATE: I have since contacted the manufacturer to alert them of the problem and have requested an exchange. SkipHop has sent me a new blanket. I am changing my review from 1 to 3 stars because of outstanding customer service.

Another comparison between this and JJ Cole's blanket: The folding/ carrying design here is superior, no question. SkipHop's blanket folds up neat and compact, can be carried multiple ways, and has the great zip-off cooler bag (which I thought was a great size; it will fit three 16-oz water bottles). I loved that you could leave your blanket laid out and take the little bag for your keys and water, no other bag needed!). The strap is long enough but very rough. The blanket is vibrantly colored and it looks great on the little bag, but red is the dominant color and it was way too loud and busy for a whole blanket; also, the fabric is plastic-y and not very soft. The JJ Cole blanket is much silkier. Overall, I really wanted to love this blanket, but sent it back and kept the JJ Cole (which by the way, has a hidden interior pocket that it seems no one has noticed).

Label Itz Bandle Bottle Labels, Baby Time

My son's day care requires that we label all bottles every day with Name, Date, Contents and when it was prepared. I tried disolveable labels, mailing labels, filing labels and tape which all had me spending way too much time scrubbing the outsides of the bottles at night trying to get rid of the glue residue that they left, especially if they got wet at all. I was really excited when I found these, seemed like a great alternative to stick ons. Immediately I realized that the ink rubs off very easily. If you boil them once you write on them it stays permanently so I would highly suggest it if you don't need to change the information on them daily.

In theory, this is a fabulous idea. Write a name, boil band, and viola you have a personalized band with which you can then write the date and wipe off for the next day's labeling needs. We use them every day at day care to help to label our daughter's bottles. The smaller size is perfect for bottles compaired to the other "sippy cup" sized bands. The biggest down fall comes from when my day care re-heats her bottles. They emerse her bottle in hot water which unfortunately can then fix the date more permanently. But, we still use the bands and simply write the new date over the shadow of the old. Not perfect but still usable.

This is great to place on bottles to label when milk was expressed. I like how it is re-usable. I just label it and when it is time to wash the empty bottle I just rub my finger over the label and the ink rubs off. I found that if you stretch the rubber a little while rubbing the ink it comes off more cleanly. I love that I don't have to label bottles with masking tape anymore. This is a nice re-usable alternative to bottle labeling that works pretty well. I labeled it 4 stars because it doesn't fit well on smaller bottles like the thin Dr Brown 5 oz ones. Otherwise it fits on most other bottles.. I have medela and born free wide neck, and it fits on the Dr Brown 9 Oz. I bought two packages. It works great for daycare as well. The item got 4 stars because if you are not careful you could accidentally rub off the ink when you don't mean to, and the ink on the yellow band seems to not come off as cleanly as with the other two colors. But honestly, the flaws are not a big deal and for the price and the convenience it is worth it.

These work great for me and they are so much cheaper alternative to custom made bottle labels. What i like about these labels is that i can reuse them. I pump about 8 times a day and have about 40 bottles (20 5oz ans 20 8 oz). If i were to order custom labels, i would have spent about $60 dollars and i just refuse to pay that mount of money for a few pieces of paper.

I agree with other reviewers that the writting on the label fades (i used the permanent marker), but it is fine with me you can still read the name, which serves a purpose and meets daycare requirements. I also love that i will be able to reuse them for sippy cups.

I am not sure how others are able to make their ink permanent. I wanted to make my child's name permanent, so I tried several different inks in combination with boiling and/or running through the dishwasher. I imagined something like a shrinky dink, where the plastic was special and would retain the marks. Not so. Nothing changes about the plastic, and all my inks rub off. It wouldn't be too big a deal to rewrite her name every day, but the plastic is really difficult to write on with ballpoint pen, as I keep losing the ink flow. Sharpie is somewhat easier, but of course if the ink is going to rub off on me, sharpie is the last thing I want to use.

On the plus side, these are small enough for my Medela 4 oz bottles I bought this year (i.e., not the old skinny ones, the new wider ones). Make sure you buy the bottle Itz Bandles, not the "bottle and cup" Itz Bandles.

Bumbo Seat Play Tray, Ivory

I usually don't write reviews if there are several on the board, however I was shocked to see so many bad reviews, and it's ovbious to me that those reviewers who said their child pulled the tray top off, didn't properly attached it.

First, you have to put this tray together as it comes in two pieces, the center piece that attaches to the front of the bumbo attaches to the top piece AND YOU HAVE TO HEAR IT SNAP. After that you never take them apart, there's simply no need (and looking at it I think it'd be really hard to do actually) the whole thing together is the tray.

Then to attach the tray to the Bumbo seat SIT YOUR CHILD IN THE SEAT and slide the top tray part over the middle hump of the bumbo, then slide the center part under the bottom of the Bumbo seat.

There is no way a baby could pull the tray off, as you will find it requires a little effort to remove it by an adult in fact, as it should be.

I have NEVER taken my baby out of the seat with the tray on it, and I can't find the instructions now but I'm pretty sure it said something there about that... in any case, the Bumbo snuggles your baby in a way that I think I would hurt my baby's legs if I pull him out with the tray on anyway... or maybe my baby is just too fat! (LOL)

But seriously, this tray is great... before, when I sat my baby in the seat he'd look at his toys on the floor with a sad face, because they were just out of reach for him, now they can be placed on the tray and he'll play for happily for a long time.

Also, THIS SEAT IS NOT A HIGH CHAIR AND SHOULD NOT BE USED AS ONE there's a BIG WARNING about that on the seat, actually... your baby could get out of the seat and fall, so if you place it on a high surface your baby could end up hurt. This seat should be use at floor level only.

This tray is awesome!! I've been using the Bumbo seat for about 9 months now but I just recently bought the tray. I really wish I had purchased the tray from the beginning. It is so helpful. I have pretty much abandoned my daughters normal high chair and feed her in this. We love it so much!! When I first purchased it, I had a hard time getting it to stay together but I didn't have it pushed in tight enough. Once my husband came home (Mr. Engineer Extraordinaire), he noticed I didn't have it put together right. Ever since then, no problems. We use it constantly and it has never come apart (unless we take it off). My husband is always critical of how products are designed poorly but he is impressed with this little tray.

My daughter loves playing with her toys on the tray when in her Bumbo. I found that I can attach her links to the rim of the tray so they don't fall on the floor. It is also great for feeding her we haven't pulled out her full-sized high chair yet and use the Bumbo instead.

For those reviewers who said their child pulled the tray top off it sounds like you haven't properly attached it. The center piece that attaches to the front of the bumbo SNAPS IN to the top piece. Those two pieces should be permanently attached to each other. To put it on the bumbo you slide the top tray part over the middle hump of the bumbo, then slide the center part under the bottom of the bumbo. When properly used there is absolutely no way a baby would be able to pull it apart.

Installing: Trying to insert the bottom tray piece into the tray itself was a major pain (I have two of these trays). I had to get my husband to put these together.

Attaching: You attach the tray to the Bumbo with your kid already in the seat. It can be a little tricky because you need to make sure their arms/legs are out of the way so they don't get pinched.

Functionality: My kids like the trays so they can lay their toys on there. We are not to the solid food stage yet, but, you can also use the try for feeding as well. At an early stage, its nice to use the seat without the tray so they can see their little toes.

This is a cheap tray and its just hard to put together due to the plastic pieces, but it does the job. The tray is not real thick...so its not very bulky which is a good thing.

The Bumbo tray is great. We have a high chair as well but we still use the Bumbo sometimes to feed him. The tray makes it a lot easier. Plus I can put his toys etc. on top so they're in easy reach for him to play with.

I agree with other reviewers that it's very expensive and not worth paying full price. I bought my Bumbo + tray used from another mom and would suggest that you do the same. These things are pretty much indestructible and easily cleaned so there is no need get one brand new.

I bought this to carry snacks and formula for my 9 month old and I wanted different sizes. Although the set comes with a mix of 2sizes, the lids are horrible. The twist on threading is too tight/not finished well. Its neither a twist on nor a snap shut lid. A bit of both is a bad idea. In addition the snack box itself is bendable, so you cannot get a grip to twist off the lid open. I tried for 10 minutes and finally just pulled open the Lid by deforming the box. the colors are pretty and the size is what i wanted, but that's about it. It would have been perfect if I could actually get it to work for me.

One thing they got right is that the baby cannot open it (if I cannot, I don't think my son can).

Save yourself some time, Search for other products!

The threading on these is horrible, every single one. The small ones are the worst. Try and screw it tightly shut, and it can be impossible to open. I think I'm just going to toss these, I really hate them.

I've been using these for more than a year now. My first set was a gift from my mom and then I came back for more.

You can push the lid in to take out some of the air and create some vacuum inside (less air, less food decay). They're good in the freezer, good in the microwave. The lid is semi-transparent so you can figure out what's inside most of the time. We've used them for all situations: storage, feeding, freezing, traveling. Even for us (mom and dad) to have some desserts or small portions of food.

I highly recommend them. They have never leaked either!

ONE THING TO KNOW: colors will vary. My set came green and yellow. That was not important for me, but I could be for you, so I hope this helps you decide wether to buy or not to buy this set.
