green sprouts Favorite Food Bib

green sprouts Favorite Food Bib, Lime SushiThis bib was cute on delivery. It is soft, large enough, and has a great over the head style. However, we washed it before putting it on our 4 month old, and after the first wash, you can no longer see the sushi images, the letters are coming off, and worse of all, it left the falling plastic image bits all over my daughter and me when I carried her. That, can't be safe! Although I did not see any care instructions on the package, since I had seen reviews that mentioned the poor quality of the image before purchase, I washed it with cool water and on gentle... obviously, that did not help.

All in all, I thought it would be great to take my daughter to my husband's restaurant in (it's a sushi joint)... but, since she didn't even get to wear it once before the image faded away, and, since I won't let her wear it now since it's peeling away and leaving white residue all over her.... it's not worth it's value in cuteness.

Absolutely best bibs I could find

I hate Velcro bibs ,they seem to scratch baby's neck.

I tried many different brands and concluded that most bibs are either too small in a neck or made from hard material. I became disappointment in all these big companies that make bibs. Most of the bibs sold in chain stores are very uncomfortable and made from hard and scratchy material. It is sad that little baby's can't complain and most parents keep buying generic velcro bibs. I spend about $70 dollars trying various bibs sold at Toyrus , Wal-Mart , Target , Sears and came to a conclusion that these "Green Sprouts (or I-play as Target refers to them ) bibs are absolutely the BEST for my baby .

I can't even compare them to most of the bibs sold at retail stores , velcro bibs are complete garbage nobody should make velcro bibs with small neck opening

These "Green Sprouts" bibs are almost perfect for my 3 month old . I got 6 bibs and stopped using all other bibs we had .

Pros:

Very Soft

No Velcro

Neck opening is stretchable and soft

Cons:

Relatively expensive

Medium level absorbency

Really cute, nice quality. The dye did run onto other items when I washed it the first few times. But I would still recommend this bib.

I have tried numerous bibs and these are the only ones I now use. They are cute and funny, but they also seem to work the best. They cover the front and I position them like a sort of trough between the tray and baby so it catches food. I am not fond of the plastic bib troughs...I find them a bit gross to be honest, but these cloth bibs I love. They also go over the head so baby cannot undo them which had started happening with the velcro bibs. I do not have a problem with them being from China...I just washed them before use like everything else.

I just think the Green Sprouts bibs are funny, and at the same time they are a very well-made, practical product. I didn't think the opening in the top was too big at all. It was funny because I bought 4 of these, each with a different food and the only one that had a bigger neck opening was the "takeout" one. Don't know why that is! I also "heart" this brand, so that's an added bonus!

Sprout Organic Baby Food Multi-Grain Cereal with Fruits and Berries, 5.5-Ounce (Pack of 12)

Sprout Organic Baby Food Multi-Grain Cereal with Fruits and Berries, 5.5-OunceMy 8 month old likes to eat this cereal for breakfast/early lunch. At first it was a little too thick for him, but he got the hang of it after a while. I like that it has the chunks of fruit in it to give him the opportunity to use his four little teeth to chew, but they aren't too big that he chokes on them. He really likes it!

The picture is not showing a true story in this case what appears on a cover as a fluffy cereal with juicy berries is in reality a watery, mushy something that doesn't look very appetizing. It testes fine, but is a no go for a toddler who's trying to eat himself (unless you add some more cereal into it for thicker consistency) ends spilled all over the place, too liquid. I didn't have much luck feeding this to my kid, had a very sporadic result and it's just not one of the favorites

I am a big fan of the Sprout Organic Baby food line. My son isn't a fan of the multi-grain cereal, but he loves all the savory meals I have purchased. I also prefer the packaging over glass jars.

Our son loves this cereal. This is a nice transition meal before he starts real solid food. I like that the mixed berries expose him to a few different types of berries.

Skip Hop Splash

Skip Hop Splash - WhiteI bought one the Marine rack for myself and the white for my sister. We both had the same problem. Water pools in the bottom layer and molds. Yes, I empty out the water that accumulates throughout the day, but some water stays there. We both have "retired" this bottle rack to our cabinets.

The design is beautiful and perfect for a modern kitchen. I now have The First Years drying rack and while it clashes with overall "tone" of the house, it is more practical. Luckily, I breastfeed so I do not have to use the rack too often except to dry the pump parts.

I think this product fills a void in the market (come on designers... give us some non-baby looking modern products), however mold/mildew is not worth it to me.

I have been using this bottle drying unit for several months for my twins and I really like the way the racks turn separately so I can get at every angle. The bottles, nipples and rings fit onto the various prongs well. It drains well and cleans up well...no standing water like some next-to-the-sink drying racks. It is one of my favorite baby products and recommend it to my soon-to-be mommy friends. I do not use the brush as I have found others that fit the bottles better so I can't speak to the durablilty of it.

it is very sturdy but the brush broke after only 3 weeks. i have searched the web and can't find anywhere to buy a replacement brush for this item so the whole thing doesn't look quite as good with a brush that doesn't match.

Water does pool, as other reviewers note, but my bigger problem is how quickly the plastic degrades. I've used this for about a year, and every few times when I clean it another piece of the center structure (where the sections screw together) cracks and breaks off. I don't think I'm particularly hard on this, and like very much the way it looks. But now the bottom plate has cracked in the middle. I sure hoped I'd be able to get through sippy cups and into commuter mugs, but I guess not!

NOT WORTH THE MONEY, AND I ONLY GIVE IT TWO STARS, BUT SINCE I EDITED MY REVIEW, IT WON'T LET ME CHANGE THE NUMBER OF STARS I GAVE IT (I first reviewed it when I was using smaller glass bottles with not as many parts). Yes, it's better for glass bottles than the collapsible ones, but it's NOT at all good for BORN FREE (or any other wide neck bottles) bottles because you can only fit them on every other upright (they're too wide to go right next to each other), and there's no room for all of the other venting pieces that come with Born Free bottles. The two bottom pieces are too small to hold much, and things fall off of them!

Baby Care Play Mat - Pingko Friends

Baby Care Play Mat - Genius BearLet me start out by saying that this is a "legitimate" review written from a first-time mom with no ties to the company being reviewed. I'm also a mom who upholds my child's safety as a #1 priority when it comes to any purchase I make for my child on products they will use on a daily basis. The negative review below at first made me a little hesitant to purchase this play mat but I thought that with Amazon's excellent return policy and offering UPS home pickup for returns why not try it out. I am so glad I made this purchase. I needed a large thick padded play mat to cushion my son's fall when making his efforts to roll, crawl, etc. I was looking for a play mat similar to the cushioning you would see in a memory foam mattress and this product was the closest I could find to what I was looking for. The box arrived fast and on the exact day of the estimated delivery. The mat comes rolled up within a large plastic bag including a label stating "an odor may be present when first taken out of the packaging for the first time." When I took the mat out of the plastic bag I did smell a slight plastic odor on the play mat. To be safe I allowed the mat to air out on the patio for about 5 hours before bringing it back inside. Once I brought the mat back inside I smelled NO odor. I then used Seventh Gen cleaner to wipe the mat down before use. The play mat is made from thick and soft foam material that does a great job cushioning my son's fall. To be more specific the label lists the material of the mat to be [Resin Foam] and the "skin" of the mat with [Acryl,Urethane]. My son loves all the pictures on the mat. It's a great educational interactive tool that has both the picture and the word underneath the picture. He points to a picture and I say the name and spell out the letters. It's very well made and looks very durable to withstand many years of play. I have had this play mat now for 3 months with no problems including NO odor smell. I highly recommend this well cushioned mat for children on the move.

***Update***It's April 2012 and I have to say this is still by far the best safety item in my son's room. My very active son is walking now and this mat has saved him from MANY falls that could have been so severe. While standing he fell backwards with his head hitting the mat so hard the sound of the fall it made scared the life out of me. He immediately got up fast and unfazed by the fall like nothing happened! I feel so at ease that this mat keeps my son safe while he plays. He also still loves all the pictures on the mat and loves it when I sound out all the letters of the alphabet on the mat. We ended up getting more mats around other areas of the house he actively plays. This mat is well worth the money!

***Update***Here are the dimensions of both the LARGE and MEDIUM play mat. MEDIUM mat is 73" inches WIDE and 49" TALL. LARGE mat is 83" inches WIDE and 55" inches TALL. Both mats are approximately 1/2 inch in thickness and will go back to original form when you press down on it. These mats are a perfect solution for my home that is all hardwood downstairs and my son's playroom is also hardwood floors. I have both sizes and they work great to keep him safe and well cushioned from falls on our hardwood floors. I also posted pictures of his playroom with these mats. Hope this helps other parents looking for great quality play mats. :)

This mat arrived as scheduled. It is very cute, and it seems very nice and soft, but the non-toxic bit I'm not sure about. I saw that it was touted as a non-toxic product and thought it sounded like a great choice. Combined with the excellent reviews, I thought there was no way I could go wrong. I think I might've went wrong. I received this in the mail, and as soon as I opened the packaged, there was a terribly strong chemical smell. I did the bowl test that someone mentioned on the dinguler mat reviews, and there was definitely a chemical odor when I lifted the bowl. I haven't made up my mind yet about the product as it certainly smells less now that it's been airing out. Either way, if you check the reviewers, three out of the four have only reviewed this product, and the focus on the no chemical smell part almost seems like they're overcompensating given the fact that the noxious fumes that crept out of the packaging were unmistakable. Granted, this is my only review so far, but obviously, I'm not trying to sell this. I do want to like it. And it seems as though it would be a huge hassle to send back as it's rather large. I'm just urging others to be wary of the reviews. If anyone knows of any reports on this product and it's non-toxic or toxic rating, please share.

First off, I am not Korean or from Washington like some of the other reviews (that have been criticized). I am a mother of three, including a crawling 8 month old.

This mat is made in 'Korea' it is stated all over the box when delivered. This mat is great. At first when unrolling it does have a smell, but nothing more than a plastic shower curtain right out of the package (my husbands comparison). It is very well made, very durable and thick. It dented from my elbows while I was laying on it and within minutes it 'filled' back up, like memory foam. The package does not list the materials that it's made from. I have also not contacted the company for a list of them either, but if you're wondering you might want to contact them before purchasing because they are not included with the item. We have had the mat for 3 days and there is no smell whatsoever. My daughter doesn't have a residual smell on her hands or clothes either.

This is an amazing mat, yes it's made in Korea, but we will be purchasing another.

this mat is great. after looking around and deciding we needed something for our baby, we opt'd to get this type of mat, vs. the foam tile mat's, because i heard these types of mat's were easy to clean, store, and overall just really nice. after looking on the internet and seeing that these mat's were going for more then 100 dollars, i was happy to find an option for under 100.

i was so excited to open it. there is a warning on the package that states there is an odor for a few days (which is true), but the odor went away pretty quickly.

my lo loves to do tummy time on the mat and loves all the color. i would say for the price, this is a great purchase!

Okay, I want to start by saying I am a "toy snob" and an American from the South with a sensitive nose. I am really snobby about baby products, and I am especially sensitive to "smells". Chemical smells in particular. Of course I am worried about the safety of baby products in general; the idea of noxious fumes or off-gassing of bad toxic stuff is something I am paranoid about. I use "green" cleaning products wherever possible but I still open the windows and doors. So you have an idea of the type of consumer and Mom I am.

I was wary about buying this. I heard the puzzle piece foam mats get nasty with food, dog hair, and whatever other crumbs and drool accumulating in between the pieces. Not to mention Baby-Grabs-All learning to pull it apart...I was also worried about her pulling up pieces and gnawing on them. And how do you clean the foam mats? I wasn't sure about the puzzle piece for those reasons.

Then I found this mat on Amazon as well as the Dwinguler. Dwinguler cost twice as much. I was still tempted to get Dwinguler because I had read that THIS mat, the Baby Care, smelled, and lots of reviewers questioned the safety. I research the European toy standards. I saw the test results that the mat passed whatever standards and didn't have phalates and "bad" chemicals in it. I thought, you know what? I have never checked to see if a fisher price toy passed a test. I have never checked blankets. Blocks. Teethers. I trust the labels. So, I decided to go for it. If it smelled bad, I was going to return it.

Well, let me say this! The mat just came and IT. IS. AWESOME. Oh my gosh what a gorgeous, bright, thick, colorful mat! This is exactly what I have been looking for. And guess what?! No chemical smell! The only smell that I perceived was the smell you would have if you rolled up a yoga mat (or really, anything) and put it in a box wrapped in plastic and let it sit in 90 degree weather for a few hours (cause that's what happened; I live in the South). The odor was more when you opened the box versus once the mat was out. Meaning, there was a staleish smell in the box (not surprising---smell any cardboard box that has been on a UPS truck). But the mat, once I opened it, did not smell. If you put your nose up the mat it smells like a yoga mat. Which basically doesn't really smell.

I also got to thinking; Baby sits in the bathtub, chews on shampoo bottles, her baby hairbrush, mommy's phone (I know, horrible) and lots of other "non-teether" stuff. I am deciding to trust the manufacturer (why not? because it is made in Korea?! Isn't EVERYTHING made overseas now? And honestly, think about Melissa and Doug products that are PAINTED and we let kids chew on those, granted it is "safe" paint---but it is paint! Just saying...) ANYWAY, I am rambling on over all this because I know that clearly it is a big question and issue for many. Just wanted to share how I decided to have peace of mind over the mat. I also started wondering about daycare. What are in the mats they buy? See? Who knows.

Anyway, this may is gorgeous, and looks very durable, about a half inch thicknot too too thick but not too thin. Will be great for my 8 month old as she rolls around and so forth. I absolutely love this mat and highly recommend it!

Nourish Baby Food Pouches

Nourish Baby Food PouchesI searched every kid store and super store for a reusable pouch and couldn't find one. When I hopped onto Amazon I found these pouches, and I will never go back to the store bought ones. They are easy to fill and easy cleanup. The pouches are sturdy which is good because I have two boys who tend to break things. Great product.

I took a long road trip with my daughter and 20 month old grand daughter last week. What a godsend the nourish pouches were. No muss, no fuss food and snacks for the road. These are my go to baby gifts.

While I am not yet a mother, I have actually used these for myself. They are great to store on the go snacks for hiking/bike rides/road trips. Easy to use and I love that I can make snacks in advance and freeze them. Plus, they are reusable (not indefinitely though it's good to replace them every few months)and dishwasher safe, so what more could a girl ask for! I have also recommended these to my friends with kids and they have all gotten rave reviews. I am so glad I found this product, thank you Nourish with Style! :)

Not only do these guys have super awesome and prompt customer service (they helped me fixed my order from their website after I had already sent it in), I actually like these pouches better than the gerber ones in the stores. The tube on the top doesn't have sharp edges, so i don't need to buy any extra attachment to protect my little buddy when he tries to chew on it. The ziplock on the bottom stays sealed, and I like that there are two color choices. I put savory things in the blue pouch and sweet in the polka dots. That way when we are out and about we can mix and match. . As soon as we got them, my husband filled them up with water, and squeezed them. Not a drop. I absolutely love them so far!

My son was LOVED eating out of the food pouches, but it was draining my wallet and I felt like I was feeding him chemicals so I stopped buying them from the store. When I found Nourish with Style I fell in love! I am obsessed with these reusable pouches. It is more cost efficient, economically friendly, and most importantly, healthier for my Ollie-Mav. There is no down side! They work great, stay sealed, are freezable, washable, durable, and ship quickly. This is a must have!

Klean Kanteen Kid's Stainless Steel Bottle with 3.0 Sport Cap

Klean Kid Kanteen Stainless Steel Bottle with Sport Cap, Silver, 12-OunceI am happy with my klean canteen purchase. It was a struggle to find a water bottle that could also serve as a sippy. This was my second attempt with stainless Steele and by far the best purchase. It does not leak, there are guards to protect the mouth piece, and it is dish washer safe.

Like the overall product, only downside is that my 3 year old still has a hard time opening the spout on her own when I send this with her to school.

I try to keep things in my life small. Wasting space is far too prevalent in our society, and it just saddens me to no end. I carry an XS Timbuk2 Bag to work, and need to fit water in there on hot summer days. This kid-sized bottle fits the bill perfectly. Love the pretty colors, but got mine in plain stainless for durability reasons. Have yet to use the sport cap, and am instead using it in conjunction with the All Stainless Loop Cap, which seems to be the smallest (and simplest) cap available. No leaking issues, and while the bottle is not insulated, it still does a reasonable job of keeping drinks cool (perhaps not cold, but cool, yes). Fits my tiny bag with room to drop a piece of fruit on top, and that's about all I could ask for.

I really liked this product. My kids thought they were cool, we ordered 2 in different colors. Each cup was only used by 1 child, but after 1.5 months the black silicone mouth piece had a ripped spot on both cups. This has not happened before to any of my kids other cups, so I don't think it was their fault completely. I have ordered replacement caps for their cups to try again before I move on to another cup. I liked that these were metal, but if they keep breaking it won't be worth it to me. Also, I never put them in the dishwasher, but some of the paint is rubbed off on the bottom. I expected it because the kids take them out of the house to playgrounds and such so it wasn't an issue for me.

In theory, this should've been the perfect water bottle for my 3 and 6 year old. I was very excited to start using it. The 3 yr old loves it, but the kindergardener doesn't even bring it to school in his lunch bag, because he is unable to open the silicone cap on his own :(. It's too tight for him...

J.L. Childress 6 Bottle Cooler Tote Bag, Blue/Green

J.L. Childress 6 Bottle Cooler Tote Bag, Blue/GreenWe use this cooler to transport our 9 month old's bottles and solid food to daycare. We have a large blue Medela ice pack on the bottom, and fit four 9 oz. Tommee Tippee bottles. In the top compartment we store his breakfast and lunch in 2 oz Oxo containers. I also add a bib and spoon. We've been using it for months and have had no issues. Love it!

I bought this hoping that I could fit 4 Dr Brown's 8 oz bottles for daycare inside or for pumping on days that my Medela bottles and cooler were dirty. Because many reviews I read said that the ice pack that came with it bursts easily, I also purchased the contoured Medela ice pack for $10. It fits perfectly inside the JL Childress 6 bottle bag with 4 Dr Brown's 8 oz bottles--ice pack, bottle, lid and all. I gave 5 stars because this is what I bought it for and it works for me. I didn't try to fit 6 bottles because I don't plan on using it for that, so I can't comment on the fit of 6 Dr Browns bottles.

I was really happy with this product at first; it held 6 Dr Brown's bottles in the main compartment and the top was handy too. This morning after barely 2 weeks of use the zipper came undone and won't close. Of course we didn't discover this until we dropped off our son at daycare, so now I'm not sure how we'll transport his leftover bottles home on the subway. We'll probably have to discard that milk, which is really frustrating.

I use this daily. My son and I walk to work and daycare, so I can use a mommy hook to hang this from his stroller rail so the bottles stay upright on the ride to and from daycare. I tied a knot in the strap so that the bag doesn't brush the wheels. The little compartment in the top part is handy too, for extra pacifiers or other small items. Good quality, and the perfect size and shape for my needs.

Nuby Natural Touch Silicone Travel Infa Feeder, Blue/Clear, 3 Ounce

Nuby Natural Touch Silicone Travel Infa Feeder, Blue/Clear, 3 OunceI'm honestly confused by so many positive reviews as this was one of the most useless baby products I've owned.

I bought this thinking it would be great for restaurants and travel, but after one use I was sadly disappointed. I attempted to feed my 6 month old finely pureed sweet potatoes using the Nuby feeder but the contents would either not come out of the tiny hole or would unpredictably squirt out, missing the spoon entirely. After struggling with it for 15 minutes, I ended up just unscrewing the base and using a regular spoon to scoop out the contents and finish the meal. My baby is now 12 months old I honestly can't see this being useful for anything other than an extra-liquidy mixture used in the very first few weeks of feeding solids, which babies quickly outgrow. Also, the bowl of the spoon was too deep for a baby just starting out on watery solids all in all, just a major disappointment. Save your money and buy some extra containers and regular spoons for on-the-go feeding instead.

I really liked this feeder, when comparing it to other brands.

The pros for me are:

it's clear so you can see how much food is left,

it has a lid and it doesn't come off,

it's perfect to feed on the go and it's definitely a lot less to carry with compared to plates, lids and spoon,

it's soft and easy to squeeze.

Cons:

too easy to squeeze in case my baby ends up grabbing it out from my hands (happened often),

kind of hard to clean the bottom of it (I'm a maniac about getting all my baby's stuff super clean),

it gets stained really easily (carrot puree was the first food used in this and now my feeder has a bad looking yellowish tone)

Overall I would recommend it because the similar products I found weren't really comparable to this one. However, I think saving those couple of bucks could be ok since I'm mostly using plates and spoons!

Buy Nuby Natural Touch Silicone Travel Infa Feeder, Blue/Clear, 3 Ounce Now

It's amazing. While it's true that it's spoon is quite deep, more so than is comfortable, it's not as bad as all that (at least for my baby, she just sucks it out of the deep well anyway) and it has an advantage...It makes it easier to feed liquids. That's been a life saver for me because ever since my baby was born, she absolutely REFUSES to drink from a bottle (she's a purist, what can I say), and now that she's older (11 months), she also refuses a sippy cup. I've tried all kinds! This spoon is the only way I can get her to drink water so far.

As far as the spoon for foods, it's also been a life saver. We recently went on several road trips and it was so nice to just reach my arm back and hold it there, squeezing as she needed it (as opposed to having an open container in the car and having to reach back and forth to feed her and then get more food).

It makes feeding cleaner because she's not constantly grabbing the open container out of my hand, flinging food everywhere. The most she could do is grab at the spoon, but if I haven't squeezed the food out yet, too bad little missy! Nothing to fling! Ha!

It was also great to take touring. I was able to fill it up before we left. Less to carry, less to deal with. I just rinsed it out in a bathroom somewhere and was good to go.

I, too, chose this spoon over the boon because it's clear and I'm glad I did. I've read reviews that say it stains easy, so I've just avoided feeding her those kinds of foods in it and it looks clean as the day I bought it.

I do wish they'd come out with a spoon with a more shallow well, I'd happily keep one of each! But if I had to choose just one, I'd keep it the way it is because feeding liquids has been invaluable to me.

We have both this one and the orange one, the spoon on this one is a tiny-little bit just bigger, but you can measure and see how much food is inside and the covering cap fits better and securely. The cap on the orange one is more practical, but can't see how much is left

Want Nuby Natural Touch Silicone Travel Infa Feeder, Blue/Clear, 3 Ounce Discount?

I bought this and the orange boon? spoon, the orange one is better. For some reason, the angle of the spoon makes this one akward to feed your baby. Hard to explain without using it. It also squeezes the food out inconsistently, I'm sure you are thinking user error, but personally when I pick up a baby feeder, I use the orange one.

The only plus about this one is you can see how much is left inside b/c it is clear, but does that matter that much if its taking twice as long to feed your baby because he can't get the food from the spoon?

Breast Pump Kit for Medela Pump in Style Pumps; Include 2 Breast Shields (Comparable to Personal Fi

Breast Pump Kit for Medela Pump in Style Pumps; Include 2 Breast Shields, 2 Valves, 4 Membranes, & 2 Tubes for Pump-in-style Advanced Sold After July 2006; Replace Medela Breastshield & Personal Fit Breastshield Connector, Medela Tubing, Valves and MembranesI received this replacement about 2 weeks ago and have been using it with PIS pump since then, so far so good.

It includes all the accessories that you need for a Medela pump, so it is no necessary to spend extra money in buying any other little parts. I also had a replacement kits which made by Medela itself, it came with four storage bottles but without tubing, so I had to buy another tubing to fix the bug.

This kit works well with my PIS, fully compatible. And I am used to clean and steam sterilize the valves, membranes and breastshields after every use. No deformation and no strange smell are observed. The manufacturer declares their products comply with FDA requirement for food containers and BPA free. I believe so.

Since the product packaging is very simple( just plastic bag), I think this replaecement may not be a good choice if you want to give it to someone as a gift. But It does economical and practical, so if for your own use, I will say it is a good buy.

I usually am weary of anything that isn't the name brand of the product. I bought Maymom's tubing for my Pump in Style few months ago, and I was surprised by the excellent craftsmanship of the product. Based on the previous great experience with Maymom's product, I decided to buy this kit, as my old membranes and valves seem to have lost their functions. I received the kit two days after the order. All the parts fit and work PERFECTLY with my pump, if not BETTER than the factory ones. I have new valves/membranes and the suction power is back to where it should be again!

I have been using Medela 24 mm breastshields and they worked well. Not sure if I wanted to try the 25mm ones. Based on other reviews, larger breastshields seem to work better for many moms. I wasn't sure if changing the breastshields on my Pump in Style would really make much difference, but it was definitely worth it! Pumping is much more comfortable and more efficient since I used these 25mm size breastshields.

One plus thing to mention these breastshields are one-piece design. Easier to clean than the two-piece ones, and fewer pieces to keep!

I have found the replacement parts from Maymom to be of high quality. The flanges are slightly larger 25mm than those sold by medela 24mm which makes it nice for those with a slightly larger nipple. The price for these replacement parts are much less which means more money saved to purchase other necessities. I would highly recomend purchasing from this company.

Washing pumping parts is really a tedious task for pumping mom! To save time from this, I started to search for spare pump parts kit online. Eventually, I have found this kit from Maymom. It is interesting that the breastshield they offer is different from Medela. The size is 25mm instead of 24mm?? Consider on the low price and this special sized (25mm) breastshield, I decided to bought one set as a trial.

Far beyond my expectations, the quality of the product is excellent. The material is comparable to Medela OEM. I have also tried to interchange Medela parts with Maymom parts (Medela valve to Maymom Membrane or vice versa) and they are totally compatible!

Another thing I love most is the 25mm breastshield. Actually I have tried the 24mm and 27mm breastshield from Medela before, but 24mm is a bit tight where 27mm is a bit loose. This 25mm breastshield seems fits me more and it is more comfortable too. I can express 10-20% more milk with them.

From this high "quality-price ratio", I would definitely bought more soon and recommend this to others!

Philips Avent 10 Pack BPA Free Breast Milk Storage Starter Set, Clear, 6 Ounce

Philips Avent 10 Pack BPA Free Breast Milk Storage Starter Set, Clear, 6 OunceI use the Avent bottles and a Medela pump. With my first child I purchased several 4 oz and 9oz Avent bottles and sealing discs once I realized just how much I was spending in milk storage bags. It was considerably cheaper to invest in the bottles.

With the second child, now 4 months old, I had more milk to freeze than bottles. So instead of buying more bottles, I tried these. I will use them for the 3 allowed times, then I am going back to buying regular bottles as needed.

Downfalls:

-Hard to know if they are sealed, but not had issues with spilled milk since I only transport the milk when frozen.

-Can only be used 3 times; if you have lots of bottles, it's hard to keep track of this.

-Lids are not sold separately I have already cracked one.

-You still need a collar for the adapter to work as a bottle; the kit doesn't come with collars. You can't buy the collars separately.

-Measurements on the side are very faint and hard to read.

-If you fill them to the 6oz/8oz mark, there is not much room for expansion when the milk freezes. I only fill to 5oz or 7oz respectively for fear of explosion in my freezer.

-The regular 9oz bottles actually use less room for me in the freezer. I have found that a regular soda can rack works well in the freezer with the 9oz bottles. (freeze them upright first and then store them sideways in the rack easy to keep track of which milk is the oldest)

The only plus I have found to this, is that with the Medela/Avent converter, I will be able to pump into a sterile disposable bottle while traveling with my infant. Then I can feed her the bottle while in her car seat, eliminating long stops to feed. I have done this with the regular bottles, but then had to deal with storing empty bottles while traveling.

I made the mistake of purchasing several of the Via containers. My intention was to use them for freezing breastmilk rather than dealing with the slippery bags. They stack nicely, but that's where the pros end. They leaked constantly in my diaper bag, no matter how many times I tried re-screwing the lids. Using the adapter to insert an Avent nipple also resulted in a leaking mess. But, most importantly, after more than a few weeks in the freezer, the fat in the breastmilk in the containers began to break down faster into the "soapy smelling" lipids. This is common occurence in frozen breastmilk, but the smell and taste (yes, I tasted it to make sure it wasn't soured) was much worse than breastmilk that had been frozen the same duration in a Gerber SealnGo bag. Bottom line: Bags are easier; they are pre-sterilized and result in less surface area for air to get trapped in to cause milk fat breakdown. I love all of the other Avent products though( bottles, nipples, training cups/spouts).

This is a love/hate relationship

Love

That they work so well with bottle accessories and cups stuff later on.

They tack nice and don't take up too much room.

Fit right onto the Avent pump.

Store nice and works well for freezing.

Great stackability.

Easy to write on in pencil and erase (to know which batch comes first).

Hate

They were hard to screw on (the flat tops to the bottoms and many times were on crooked).

Leaked too much milk (and as any BFing mother knows... losing milk is well like losing money).

I use the Avent storage containers and I used to have problems with leaking. Two tips and you won't have that problem.

1) DO NOT OVERFILL THE CONTAINER. The tick marks go up to 7 ounces, but don't put any more than 6 in there (which is what they are advertised to hold). Any more than that and the milk gets into the seal.

2) Don't squeeze the container as you screw on the lid. The best way to attach the lid is to put the container on your counter and then screw the lid. Don't hold the container or squeeze it at all if you do, it misaligns the top.

My only complaint is that they are expensive and I'm storing a lot, so I need them in bulk.

I have 2 children and I am a HUGE fan of Avent products. After struggling with the storage bags with my first pregnancy, I was thrilled to read about these containers while I was pregnant with my second child. I immediately purchased them. They have been awful. When I shake them after warming, or when I am feeding my baby, the milk leaks through the seal. I am afraid to use them even just to freeze milk because I am concerned that if the milk leaks when you use them for warming or feeding, then how can it keep my stored milk fresh? I was so disappointed. I went back to using the storage bags and the regular bottles to store milk.

I have read customer complaints about the Avent bottles leaking too. When I originally began using them, I had the same problem. I called Avent and they informed me that you can make the bottle too tight. So after making the adjustment they described, I never had a leaking problem again. This was NOT TRUE for these disposable containers. No matter what I did I could not get them to work. Keep buying Avent products just not this one.
