Growing up, my family always had a stainless steel plate with an elephant engraved on it that my brother was given as a baby gift. My brother and I always gravitated toward it, even as teenagers, when we wanted a snack. Over the years it held its beauty, and there was something so satisfying about using it. When I had my first child 7 years ago, I desperately looked for something like it, but could find nothing anywhere. Someone sent me a metal dining set, but it was silverplate, and just not the same. Needless to say, I was so excited to find these, and ordered 3 sets, one for each of my children.
They arrived, and they are just as nice as I'd hoped. The sizes are great, perfect for children, but not ridiculously small. My 7-year old will probably get another year or two with the fork and spoon, but will continue to use the bowl and plate for years, if she's anything like her ole' mama:)
I was only slightly surprised to find that the sets were made in China. Pretty much any steel product these days is, in my experience. I emailed the company to address this, and see if they do any testing on the products as I was concerned about lead. The president of the company wrote back very quickly, and was so incredibly nice and helpful. Here is part of her response: "You can be rest assured that my products have no lead (bpa, phlates...or anything of the like. As a matter of fact 18/8 #304 stainless steel never has lead it in. It's just not in the components. This is my first production run and yes, it has been tested by the one of the two top most reputable third-party testing companies in the world.
I have all the documents to support the multiple testings I have done for this product.
I understand today's market place (and how scary it can be for parents...I'm one of them) so I made sure to support myself with as much information as I could before I launched the collection." She offered to send me all of the documentation.
All in all, I would highly recommend these, and am very satisfied with my purchase!
I purchased a set of these for each of my daughters and expect to get years of use out of them. We have other, simpler stainless steel dishes for them but these are simply adorable with the design and butterfly engravings. My daughters love the matching butterfly on all the pieces. The size is also perfect for children and not at all heavy or overwhelming. The steel is strong because the cups have been dropped several times and never dented.
I was so pleased with these that we ordered the gecko set for my expecting friend. Thanks for this lovely classic, yet stylish heirloom set.

I'm concerned enough about plastics to want to keep my kids away from eating off them and had solved that issue by letting my 3 and 4 year old boys eat off of ceramic plates. And guess what, they have never broken a single one, despite being required to clear their places after eating. Anyway, we are now expecting a baby and I while I don't want to feed her out of plastic either, I also don't want broken pottery shards all over my house. This set seemed like the perfect solution and I'm so glad I ordered it. The size is perfect for little hands and portions -the bowl is about the size of a glass custard cup, the plate will fit a standard sized sandwich. I'm so glad to have found a healthy, unbreakable option for feeding my little one!

The quality is good. The thickness of the stainless is good. They'll probably last forever.
Having said that, the bowl is ridiculously small and the plate is small. I think the plate will be too small after he is about 5 years old. The bowl is already too small for my one year old for eating soups or oatmeal. It is probably going to be ok for giving him a small amount of blueberries or cheerios once he is older and able to use a bowl by himself. The set would've been so much more useful if the bowl and the plate was just a bit bigger.
My biggest grip with this is that the cup came with scotch tape on the inside to keep it from moving in the box. The tape was hard to remove and I ended up having to use Goo-Gone to remove the sticky residue from the cup. The whole point of this was to keep chemicals from my baby and I think having to rub Goo-Gone on the cup defeats the purpose.

I bought this stainless steel dish set for my 3 year old. I gave this set four stars because the quality is very good and seems like it will last for multiple children. My child enjoys drinking out of the little cup, which is perfect for small hands ages 1 and up. The plate, fork, and spoon are used often, while the very small bowl is better for ice cream or small snacks. For a child that is older and eats more, this set may be too small. Overall, I am pleased with this product because it replaces all the cheap plastic dish sets we have accumulated over the years.
Fantastic Find! With preschool just around the corner, I'm always on the hunt for fun, tasty, healthy and organic snacks for my three year old! I've been really impressed with Happy Family's line of products and their new Happy Times items really seem to be growing with my family. Not only are each of these individually packaged, perfect for the school lunch box, they even have a cute little 'message' area where I write basic little notes or draw a little picture to surprise my little girl as she enjoys her lunch at school. Just so she knows mommy is thinking of her :) My daughter LOVES this snack and it makes me happy that a) she can open it by herself easily b) it's a healthy organic treat of a veggie c) it's organic too!
