This mattress fits perfect in our bed-side cradle. It is very firm as all newborn mattresses should be and the fact that the materials used to make it are safe and non toxic for my little girl are a huge bonus. Overall it is an excellent mattress.

The toxicity of mattresses today are appalling. Conventional mattresses have toxic flame retardants, antimony, arsenic and formaldehyde. Naturepedic is a godsend and their customer service is excellent. We have ordered custom sized waterproof pads and organic sheets through them and they were sent super fast. They even make them a little bigger to allow for shrinkage during washing and drying. I am glad that we have purchased this cradle pad for our daughter because it is a healthier option for our little miracle.

We have a cradle and it was hard to find a FIRM cradle mattress. We purchased a naturepedic crib mattress but for the first few months, the baby will be sleeping in a cradle. I didn't want to spend close to $100 on this but at the end, peace of mind and knowing our baby is sleeping on a firm and safe mattress was well worth the extra investment. After ten nights of use, our Naturepedic Organic Cotton Cradle Mattress is ruined. It was destroyed by a single accident by baby, which the supposedly waterproof mattress absorbed like a sponge. Our attempts to wipe and wash the mattress just added more water to the mattress core...it is now a nasty sodden mess. I think mold will overtake it before we can actually get it to dry out.

I'm really disappointed. The thin plastic coating just traps water, it doesn't keep it out.
