I got it for a 28" doorway. It just barely fit because there are standard settings on it. So it only snaps in place on it's pre-set settings. We had to wedge it in place. The pet door is covered up alittle, it leaves a 6" opening, fine for my cat, not sure if it would work for a small dog...

I have a new house with square walls. This gate would not square up so that all four pads touched the walls. The tightening screw device on it is made of some very brittle feeling plastic that I don't think will last long. There are better gates for the money available.

It's a great value for the money. easy to install. very sturdy. looks good, too. no fault of the gate, but I can't leave the small door open for my little dog because my big one (23 lb. cocker) found a way to squeeze through.
