Smart Mom Teething Bling Donut Shaped Pendant Necklace (Bronze)

Smart Mom Teething Bling Donut Shaped Pendant NecklaceI bought this for my son and his occupational therapist said it is great to help keep him calm. I like this much better than the rectangle shaped type because there is no connector to chew through.

I thought the idea was great something baby-safe to keep my son occupied during feedings. However, he pulls on it so hard that the cord digs into the back of my neck and I'm forced to bend down to him to save my neck.

My daughter seemed to know as soon as I put this necklace on that it was for her too. It went right in her mouth (which my other jewelry never does) and she started chomping away. She always gets excited when I put it on. So I would wear it even if it was silly looking, but as an added bonus, I think it's a cute piece of jewelry. Just my style. And apparently, my baby's. Love it!

I bought this because my son loves to chew on my usual metal necklace that I wear, and i honestly wouldn't care if it didn't have a few little stones that could come off. So I bought The Bronze color, which I absolutely LOVE in person. And with this color, you can't see any lint or hairs or anything that i'm sure show up with darker colors. I get so many compliments on it by other women who have no idea that it's a teething necklace. I'm a no frills type of gal (except for my beautiful wedding ring ;)) so the nylon string doesn't bother me a bit. it's strong and sturdy, and the clasp has held up to my one year old son pulling on it, but i think it's also weight rated, so if it hits a certain amount of force then it will come undone. Anyway, I prefer the dressed down look of it, and apparently others like it too. The strand is kind of longer...the actual donut piece sits at the bottom of my sternum (with no boobs to get in the way), but that's the style these days, and it gives plenty of leeway for the baby to have it in his mouth without pulling on my neck too much.

Moving on to the actual teetherI'm going to start with my nephew. weird, i know, but you'll see why in a minute. My nephew LOVES this thing. he chews the crap out of it every time i hold him. it ends up being a little too saturated with drool for my liking, so i usually will take it off to dry after i'm done holding him, but I don't mind that really. he's happy when i'm holding him, and well..isn't that the point? now for my son....SIGH. my son refuses to chew on anything that's actually meant for teething babies..i'm not sure why, but i've spent TONS of money of different teethers, and thought this would be different because he really liked chewing on my other necklace. he put this in his mouth once, and it hasn't been there since. so if your kid is like mine, and only likes chewing on soft toys and (apparently) metal, then this might be a waste. but hey, if you want to try it, you'll still get an attractive piece of jewelery for not that much money. I actually wear it almost every day because I love it so much (and kind of hope that my son will take a liking to it now that his horrible molars are coming in). Hope that helps.

My LO loves this! When I dropped her off at daycare the teacher asked me if I pick out my jewelery according to what my LO likes. I laughed and told her it was a teething ring. She asked me if it was ok for babies to teeth on glass. She was surprised to hear that is was silicon.
