OXO Tot Divided Feeding Dish

This is my favorite feeding dish without question. The dish grips onto the table top very well and it is very nice looking!

The dish comes in three parts; base dish + lid + curved ring to help scoop food for toddlers. The three parts easily come apart for washing in a dishwasher (top rack).

Several minor comments... Because the lid secures onto the base dish, it doesn't provide enough room inside the dish to fit ice cube sized home made frozen foods. I think either the lid should have been designed to go on top of the ring, or the dish could have been designed deeper to accommodate the ice cubes.

Having said all of this, I own three feeding dish fro OXO TOT and I use it daily. They are my favorite. If you have a baby who loves to feed themselves, this product is a must have!

I was very excited about this product and all its features and was willing to give it a try even though it was an expensive container. I take my toddler to a babysitter every day and I pack her food, so I am always looking for good containers with lids. This product fell short. The container is small, and holds very little food. Maybe this is good for a 4-6 month old baby but certainly not suitable for a lunch for a 12 month old. I freeze my homemade baby food in ice cub trays, and you cannot even close the lid because it is not deep enough for an ice cub. However, my biggest complaint about this container is that the lid does not actually stay on. It will not close tight and her food spilled out on several occasions. We use this at home, but can no longer trust taking it in a lunch bag for outings or day care. On a plus side, the gripping bottom is pretty neat, and I do like the rim feature, it makes it easier to get the food out with a spoon.

Another great OXO product.

The bowl comes with a cover (not pictured) that fits over and protects any leftovers while traveling (no spills!) or in the fridge. The guard piece comes off for easy cleaning.

The bowl itself has a nice rubbery bottom that keeps it on the table, and the division in between the two sides makes it very easy to hold while keeping little hands out. The round sides help get the last couple of spoonfuls.

A little pricier than some of the take and toss types you'll find, but it's worth it.

This dish is perfect for beginning to feed solids to my baby. Its the perfect size, doesnt slip and is very easy to wash. Its great for one side oatmeal/rice and the other fruit/veggie. We use it every single day, I just ordered another one!

As other people have said, the container does not hold a lot of food... BUT this container holds the PERFECT amount for my 6 month old daughter. In other, larger containers, her small portions are wasted by sticking to the sides.

I use one side for cereal and the other for fruit/veggies. I currently freeze my baby food in ice cube trays, and I put 1-3 frozen cubes (per side) into the OXO Tot Divided Feeding Dish to unthaw in the fridge. The dish is BPA free and has a lid to keep the food fresh while it is unthawing.

My dish is always dirty from being used so much, so I just purchased another one. Even thought is a little pricey I highly recommend getting this. It is much better to have a few dishes that you love rather than a cupboard full of junk. I intend to use this for snacks when my daughter is older.

Earth's Best Organic 2nd Antioxidant Blend Sweet Potato Apricot, 4 Ounce Jars (Pack of 12)

My little guy just loves this jar. He is almost 10 months and I am sad that we will be moving away from the 2nd foods and flavor combos. I am impressed with the line of antioxidant blends. I am happy with Amazon's "grocery" business. It is great to have the convenience to order these on-line and have home delivery. I can't imagine going the store and having to get a whole case and go through check out. I try to make him some meals, but I trust Earth's Best and love the flavor combo's and they are so convenient.

My 8-month-old daughter loves this. She typically polishes off a jar in record time. This is perfect for her after nap solids lunch.

My seven month old recently moved into stage two foods and has been enjoying the various combinations that Earth's Best offers. Mother-Ease Sandy's Cloth Diaper

These are big butt diapers, but with lots of bulk comes lots of absorption. I am a cloth diaper collector, I have one of just about every kind you can imagine,but nothing could last my heavy wetter through the night without leaving a terrible diaper rash because of the wetness. I happened upon a used set of these diapers at a consignment store with the extra inserts included, and decided to try it in combination with a large thirsties cover. It was amazing, it may be huge but for the first time ever I can put my son down in a cloth diaper and not wake up to a diapering disaster. My son is very thin and narrow in all areas and it still fits, but I liked how the leg could be adjusted if he were a chunkier baby. A good diaper cover also makes up for any little loose areas that occur because of my son's stick thin frame, so if you have a thin child go for a cover with good gussets just in case the leg ends up being a little loose. Fitted diapers can be expensive, but I would definitely say it is worth it to invest in 2-3 of these so you can use one for every night of your diaper laundry cycle. During the day I use mostly pre-folds of various types, I tried my hand at some fun pocket diapers which almost always means using polyester, but I've found that I prefer cotton. If I could afford it my son would sport the big butt look all the time because I would make my whole stash mother-ease!

I bought this in size lg for my almost 9 month old 25ish lb son. He is a chubby boy and fairly heavy wetter. I pair this with the thirsties duo cover and it fits wonderully underneath. It's somewhat bulky but not terrible. Very soft and comfy. I wear this on him for sleeping, naps, long trips. It works great. Holds in everything and haven't had any leaks yet not even with his massive poops. I could probably wear a size down on him on the largest setting but this size works wonderfully on the smallest. Working on saving money to add more to my stash. Hands down wins over all the other (many many many) brands I've tried. Mother-ease sandys and kissaluvs contours are the BEST diapers I've ever tried. Would definitely recommend. Definitely worth the price.

Mother Ease are one of my all time favorite diaper brands. They are so soft, super durable, and great at containment. I love the one-size and these Sandy's fitteds. The large size can easily fit a trifolded Thirsties hemp prefold, and combined with a wool cover it's the Fort Knox of nightime diapering. The bamboo is sooooo soft. I love how the sides are so stretchy and the elastic is super gentle. You can adjust the snaps to a looser setting if you have a baby with super chubby thighs. I love Mother Ease, I've literally never had a single leak with them.

I love to use Mother-ease Sandy's cloth diapers! They are my favorite diapers, along with Little Lions, and so absorbent! They are especially great for tall/long babies because they have a nice high rise. I have the unbleached cotton and the bamboo and both are so soft and fit very nicely, and work well with my Bummis covers. I can't wait to buy more!

This is a fantastically absorbent diaper. My toddler can wear it overnight without leaking, and it is superbly soft and comfortable. The reason it only gets four stars is because it is very wide in the crotch making it a more difficult fit with most covers. It also makes it slightly more uncomfortable for my younger baby to wear. It's a small complaint though for a diaper that works so well in every other way.

Disney Easy Grasp Flatware

These utensils are NOT the first ones I grab out of the drawer for my son, age 2. Yes, he likes the Cars characters, but the fork tines are too blunted to be used for what one uses a fork for.......stabbing food. The spoon is also pretty useless as the bowl is quite flat. All in all, I pretty much just give him these utensils for fun when he has finger food, since they are useless at picking up anything.

The First Years makes some really useful products for children, and these are no exception. They've got a wide variety of licensed characters that are sure to please any toddler. My 11 month old Angelica has an easy time using the flatware and I don't have to worry about her poking her eyes out the fork tines are blunted but still easy to spear food with. The spoon is more shallow than an adult spoon, but that makes it easier for her to scoop with. I know from experience that a deeper spoon would be a whole lot messier! Angelica's recently taken an interest in Disney princesses, so I ordered her this set because she doesn't have it yet.

While I am pleased with the product, I was disappointed that I did not receive the flatware pictured. (Aurora on the spoon, Cinderella on the fork.) I was sent a set that had the heads of Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora on the fork and spoon. While it would have been a nice surprise because Snow White is not often featured on princess products, it was a let down because we already have that particular set.

So, 4 stars for the product, but 1 star for not getting what I thought I would. It would be nice if the seller would note that styles will vary then the buyer would be forewarned.

These were a great price on Amazon and I wanted a few more metal fork/spoon sets for my son. He loves Cars, so I picked these. The designs are as pictured and he likes them a lot, but the "bite" size of the fork/spoon is a little smaller than some other metal fork/spoons I have purchased. I would prefer the larger size. My son is two now, but I think I will have to stop using these due to the small bite size once he reaches 3 years.

Very cute BUT absorb everything. They probably work really well with cheerios but that's not what I needed them for. Pasta sauce absorbed, watermelon juice absorbed, water absorbed. I found that they do not protect clothing underneath. But they are cute!

They are very cute bibs. But ANY AND ALL MOISTURE will go through the bib to your child's clothes. We have to use a LOT of oxyclean now that we have these bibs. I will use another brand when feeding anything moist like pasta with sauce or blueberry yogurt. What a mess.

These bibs do a great job of covering more clothing area than a standard bib. They are also more of a cloth material (while still being somewhat water resistant) so it is easy to put them in the clothes washer once a week to get them extra clean.

NUK Infant Tooth and Gum Cleanser, 1.4 Ounce

First of all, when I read the ingredients on the package I went "yuck". But the more I looked at them, I realized that it wasn't actually bad at all it was actually excellent! The main tooth decay ingredient is Xylitol. Check out the wiki page on this to get a better feel for how good this sugar alcohol is. It has all kinds of studies indicating that it can help tooth decay significantly and has no known toxicity issues. The sugar alcohol is derived from trees and seems very safe.

This is important. My kids are not old enough to realize that they can't swallow the toothpaste and I still need to keep their teeth clean ...

As a side note, they use Xylitol in chewing gum. In fact it is in many of the more expensive chewing gum brands that promote healthy teeth.

This is the only beginner toothpaste we use in our house. Check out the wiki page on Xylitol and I can say pretty confidently that you will use this as your only toothpaste with kids that may swallow their toothpaste.

Other than the Xylitol, the rest of the ingredients are pretty innocuous and are claimed to be all natural. So there you are.

Thank goodness I read the label for this product. I wish it stated this on the package. My baby has a severe milk allergy and this product contains milk ingredients.

Please be aware that this "infant" toothpaste has one enzyme derived from eggs and two enzymes from milk. I noticed my daughter was scratching her skin for the past week and it coincided with the use of this toothpaste. She is allergic to eggs. I called NUK about this and the representative agreed that their website has no warnings about this.

The rep at NUK did say that the "toddler" toothpaste does not have these enzymes in the toothpaste but there is an oil derived from a tree nut. I can't confirm this but hopefully NUK and Amazon do a better job of posting the ingredients with the products.

I gave this one star because of the lack of warning, not necessarily for the quality or performance of the toothpaste to actually clean teeth and gums.

I hope this helps at least one parent out there.

My daughter is 7 months old now and she gets so excited seeing me pull out the finger brush. She LOVES to chew on it more then any other teether we own. She likes the flavor of the tooth paste a lot. I actually have to stop and take my finger away or she would never let me go! It sticks really well to my finger, I'm never worried that it will come off in her mouth, I have to literally peel it off my finger. I just rinse it under the tap and it stays clean. I've put it in the dishwasher before and it came out fine. I think it's a great introduction to brushing and hopefully she will like our upgrade to the banana brush next!

Quinny Yezz Ultralight Stroller Frame & Seat Cover

I noticed that Amazon didn't have many reviews for the new Quinny stroller, the Yezz. If you are looking for something small that travels wellapartment dwellers or jetsettersthis stroller is a must. We have 3 strollers. The Baby Jogger Elite which is great for our trips to the beach, or a park (trails, etc.) but it takes up the entire cargo area of my Jeep. We have the Quinny Zapp Xtra that we purchased initially for the car seat adapters that fit our Maxi Cosi Mico infant car seat. I got this stroller on sale and at the time I didn't think I'd need an umbrella stroller but thought for the price it made more sense than buying adapters for the Elite. We got so much use out of the Zapp. But it was still bulkier than we'd like. We struggled when making room for it at a restaurant, etc. The Zapp takes up half of my cargo area in my Jeep, it's awkward to carry (even in it's travel case) but it was the best travel stroller around... until now. The Yezz was a gift I received at the Albee Baby Trunk Show this weekend. I was blown away at how light and compact it is. It's easy to maneuver and solid not flimsy as it may appear at first glance. It has no bells and whistles like the Zapp (no raincover but sold separately, no carry case but not necessary) but it is exactly what I've been missing. It stands on its own for when we go out, it simply folds in one step and can be carried on our shoulder (a kid could carry it IT IS SO LIGHT), and takes up hardly any room at all in our car. Great for trips to the West Coast, great for running errands, going out to eat, going into the city (any public transportation)... It is a bit pricey but you're paying for the innovation! It's brilliant. For those that are new Mommies and Daddieswait a year and see if the price of the 2013 goes down. You'll be glad you did. I am so lucky to snag one of the first ones. We got ours in the color, Yellow Move. It's the best!

This is a really light stroller (11lbs) and the maneuverbility is good. However, for the price, it should do more than just be a basic umbrella stroller recline, reversible seat, storage basket or pouch, adjustable handles, larger canopy, peekaboo window, something! For $280 it does the same thing that my $30 umbrella stroller from BRU does, except for maybe the nice wheels and the super compact fold. However, I'd rather go with my 7lb cheapo stroller than lob out $280 for wheels and a compact fold. Speaking of the fold, it is compact, but the mechanism you have to go through is not sandal or "nice shoe" friendly, which may be important to some parents who want to protect their shoes or toes. Also, a backpack strap and handle option would be great since the versatility of carrying it was one of the selling points (it only has a shoulder strap); unfortunately, that matters little since there are parts of the wheel and frame that jab into my back when I wear it. It does stand on its own and has a relatively small footprint. This may work for families looking for a basic umbrella, but if you need more for the money, I wouldn't recommend.

Boon Catch Bowl with Spill Catcher

I had high hopes for the Boon Catch Bowl. Love the modern, clean look and happy colors. It is well-sized at the "catcher" feature does help keep things a bit cleaner for messy eaters. But there a a few drawbacks that ultimately brought down my review to three stars:

1) The description is "dishwasher safe." Be careful-even in the top rack, with heat off, this bowl will warp.

2) The "flexible" catcher can work to limit messes-but the fact that is is so bouncy/flexible means that it sort of invites kiddos to play, flip food into the air, etc.

3) The cather and bowl are two separate plastic pieces that are melded together. After a few washers (again, in top rack), I noticed some separation along the connection. This is an invitation for germs and looks very unattractive.

4) The colors are BRIGHT. MUCH brigher than in the photos. Make sure you know what you are getting!

5) The suction works well on a table, but not well on highchairs. It is very easy for most children to lift this bowl.

Overall, its an okay bowl. Just okay.

I bought this bowl because I wanted my son to be able to feed himself without being able to throw his bowl on the floor. For some reason, this will suction well to my glass table, but not his high chair. I have a Fisher Price Space Saver high chair, and the suction is just not there. I have even tried wetting the bottom of the bowl. It made no difference.

I bought the Green Sprouts divided plate and the Munchkin Stay-Put bowls at the same time, and the Boon ones have the best suction by far. In looking at the description for the green sprouts plate again, it actually says "non-slip" which I guess suggests that it doesn't actually STICK, which isn't so helpful with a young toddler learning to self-feed. The Munchkin bowls do claim to suction, but I've only gotten them to work well on certain surfaces. The Munchkins don't stick well on our plastic OXO high chair or most restaurant tables, though I did get them to stick well on a metal table. I did, however, appreciate that they have a lid for each bowl. But unless you have a metal table in your kitchen, in which case any suction bowl will likely work, I'd recommend the Boon bowl. Plus it has a cute design!

Feeding babies and teaching toddlers to feed themselves is an arduous task. Until the baby has some teeth, or has serious resolve, most of the food is pureed and requires a bowl.

That is all seems fine and you imagine yourself lovingly spooning the nutritious puree into the rosy mouth of your clean and cooing child.

The reality is that most kids let you feed them about 5 times and then they learn to grab the feeding utensil and thwart our every effort. In combination, they lack the requisite gross and fine motor skills for feeding themselves until they are closer to 2 years old. You have to cede the spoon and the reality is that the bowlful of puree will end up on the floor/rug/chair/parental lap. Or, if your kid has a good arm, it will end up on all four things.

The bowl needs to resist sweeping arm motions and stay in place as your cherub learns to scoop up their food with a spoon.

You need a bowl with a suction cup. This is the right bowl. Buy more than one. Wash them well and push them onto the tray of your child's high chair firmly. They will peel it off now and then, but most of the time they won't.

With this bowl there will be a bit less food on the floor/kid and high chair--this means 5 more minutes of whatever great activity you enjoy versus scrubbing down for the next meal. You may even achieve the lofty goal of eating (six or seven bites) with your child if they can't immediately dump the meal you just prepared for them.

We got gifted a plate with a suction cup. Unfortunately the seal was cracked, so it never stuck very well but I liked the idea. I did some research on Amazon and found this one. It sticks so well! I think we could've done without the extra food-catcher, but it's great to give my 16-month old son his snacks in. They don't all end up on the floor (some still do though, haha).

Hello Kitty Sanrio Baby Girl Large Bib

I was going through what I perceived to be a power struggle with my 1 year old over wearing her bib. Then I realized that she just didn't think that her bibs were fashionable enough. We got this bib and she never refuses to wear it. We wash it in the washing machine and let it air dry and it cleans up great. We've had it for a year now and it's still in good condition.
