Piyo Piyo 2+1 Milk Powder Dispenser

Piyo Piyo 2+1 Milk Powder DispenserSo, I had one of the usual "formula dispensers" for my diaper bag you know, the round plastic bowl divided into 3 sections with a plastic lid with a little hole/spout on it. That's the ONLY kind of dispenser you can find in just about any store (I checked Target, Walmart, Burlington/Baby Depot, Babies R Us...). They suck! I can never get ll the powder out, and I always end up making a mess.

THIS one is SO much better! It's shaped like a funnel, so all the powder is easy to get out. And the spout is longer, so I stick it into the top of the bottle, and it makes NO mess because all the powder is easily funnelled into the bottle. It's such a simple design; I don't understand why everyone still makes/uses the other ones!

Convenient and it works really well for me. I take it with me every time we travel now.

it is great, i have no problem pouring the powder in the bottle even in a moving car. No mess!

I ordered this specifically because I did not like using the Munchkin foumula dispenser because you had to shake it to get all the formula in the bottle. This one has a funnel, which makes it much easier to pour. My only con is that you have to disassemble and reassemble the little compartments when making a second bottle.

This product will be great for use when my son starts eating snacks.

the spout at the top makes it very easy to dispense formula on the go without making a mess. we have never had any leaks with it and it is very convenient to tote in the diaper bag.

Very pleased with this product, it works as advertised. Glad I did not buy one of the ones with a "lip" between edge and spout. Also worth mentioning that the size is quite reasonable, can easily fit 4 scoops of formula in each section, yet it doesn't cramp the diaper bag.

Freshfoods Fill & Freeze Pops

Freshfoods Fill & Freeze PopsThese molds are very popular with my 15 month old who is a huge fan of the yougurt / mango mixture that she is treated to on special occasions. I however, have issues with the great lack of durability that this product displays. The problem is that the mold base can be separated so that you can pull one pop out at a time and the plastic that is supposed to hold the four units together breaks easily. All of the links between the four molds broke the very first time that I attempted to separate them so now they don't go back together. I wish that I could get my money back but I have already used them. Due to this unfortunate experience, I will not be purchasing any more products from the Annabel Karmel collection.

So I bought these to help relieve teething for my 11-month old son and they work great for that purpose. We fill them up with fruit purees and they freeze quickly into the perfect size popsicle for a little one. The serving size is great for a toddler (or for a guiltily enjoyed adult snack when you unmold one and the kid doesn't want it) and the handles are just the right size for a toddler, although occasionally my kid ends up with the handle in his mouth and the popsicle in his hand. Unless you REALLY torque the popsicle on the way out, they stay intact when you remove them from the molds, which is nice. They're easy to clean we've put the parts in the dishwasher. The only minor design flaws are that while the popsicle molds come apart into individual servings (a plus,) they are hard to snap back together, and also a tiny amount of popsicle ends up stuck in the mold when you're eating them. This may be endemic to homemade popsicle molds though, so take that criticism with a grain of salt.

I bought these molds because of my wonderful experience with other Annabel Karmel products. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with it. The size of each pop is just perfect for my eighteen month old and the handle is just right for my little one to hold on to. My problem is with the base, which unnecessarily comes apart into four separate molds, but breaks really easily. Mine broke the first time I tried to pull a pop out. I regret not having considered other people's reviews seriously, since many people had already experienced this issue. I just thought it had been bad luck, but by own experience I can say, it's just a poor design and it's not worth the money. I'm very disappointed and I would recommend other people to look into other brands before considering this one.

These popsicle molds are awesome. Perfect for little hands. My daughter was 7 months when we got these and she could hold on no problem. We use the organic fruit pouches to fill. One of the PLUM brand stage one fruit packets fills four popscicles with no waste. Quick, easy and healthy. Highly recommend!

We have been using this since our daughter started solids. I put any type of liquid baby food (fruit, vegetables, yogurt, combination meals...) in the mold. Then, my daughter is able to eat the food on her own, and she loves it. It is a great way for me to get her to eat a variety of healthy foods, while making it so that I am free to eat my own meal. The smaller containers of baby food (like Gerber levels 1 and 2, and their yogurt) are the perfect size to fill the mold and make four popsicles. Level 3 fits perfectly into two molds to make eight popsicles. The small size of the popsicles are perfect. They are easy for baby to handle, and there isn't a lot of waste if it isn't finished (or if it is dropped). The mold also stands up nicely in the freezer when the four pieces are kept together. Just don't try to separate the pieces while frozen. (I snapped the plastic this way, but it still works.) The popsicles come out nicely when ran under hot water. I ended up buying three of these so that I can always have popsicles ready to go.

Similac Sensitive Isomil Soy, Powder, 1.45-Pounds (Pack of 6) (Packaging May Vary)

Similac Sensitive Isomil Soy, Powder, 1.45-PoundsWhen breastfeeding was no longer an option and I needed to find a substitute that wouldn't contain Lactose, my pediatrician recommended this product.

My daughter wasn't sure about it at first, but she learned to accept it as her new "milk".

Since formula is an expensive venture, I am always looking for ways to get the best deal. This pack matched Costco's price when they stopped carring it.

I was caught off guard when I ordered this product and another arrived in it's place. Before complaining, I discovered on the Similac website that they have redeveloped the product to contain their "Early Shield" advancement.

The website is:

.

Customer service says that it is the same product just with this addition, a new name and a new label.

I don't want anyone else to be caught off guard if this is the product you use. It is now called "Similac Sensative Isomil Soy". It has an Orange lid and a Magenta label.

It was great to get the same product I'd have purchased in the store delivered to my door. With the free shipping I ended up saving a few pennies per ounce!

Our son was born at nearly 10 lbs. I've heard all the talk about breast-fed and natural/homemade formula, which is great if you have the time. My wife works full-time and we decided to try similac soy because I'm allergic to milk. Now almost at 7 months our son is happy, healthy, and a whopping 25 lbs. He has never been sick and our pediatric doc has said he's in excellent health every visit. We were worried about using formula at first, but I wouldn't hesitate to use Similac formula on any of our future kiddos. He did spit-up quite a bit up until 6 mos, but from what I've read that's not uncommon because the stomach doesn't close until about that time so I doubt it would have mattered what formula we used.

i was disappointed that half of the lids on the containers were broken, which made me then have to transfer the formula to a container that did not have a broken lid & caused some formula to spill. I was not happy with that I wasted some good formula since the containers are not made to transfer.

Innobaby Keepin' Fresh Stainless Steel Bento Lunch Box/Food Container

Innobaby Keepin' Fresh Stainless Steel Bento Lunch Box/Food Container, Pink FishI bought this for my preschooler's lunch and just came back to buy a second for my older son. Of all of the stainless steel containers that we have tried, this one is by far the most user friendly.

Most importantly, my 4 year old can easily open and close it on his own. That means that I can use my preferred container without driving the preschool teacher bonkers who can open lunches for 24 kids at once? Also, he can close it firmly by himself so I don't have food sloshing around in his lunchbox to clean at the end of the day.

The silicone seal is removable, but seems to be seated really well. The interior stainless piece is removable, I usually toss that in the dishwasher and wash the lid quickly by hand.

I could live without the exterior plastic part that the stainless "box" sits in, but the lid doesn't work without it. Overall, it's not a hassle at all and doesn't come into contact with the food.

Update 4/2013: Our 2 containers are still going strong after 6 months. They go to school every day, bounce around in his backpack, then go through the dishwasher every night. The seals are still holding very well overall they're just like new. We've been washing both pieces in the dishwasher for a long time with no problems at all. If we ever need more, I'll be back for these. I don't see a need to replace these for a long, long time.

I got this product for my 3 yr old . I was easy for her to open and close , it also holds rice with sauce it liquids. I loved it but within 2 weeks one of the plastic closing tabs just broke.

I bought this in a local store for my 18 month old daughter. I love it way more than I thought I could love a container!

I was looking for something stainless steal with a non-toxic plastic lid. I like that lid is clear so that you can see what is inside. But the main reason I love it so much is that it's truly air-tight. Whenever my daughter eats avocado she only eats half of oneleaving the other half to turn brown no matter what type of container/baggie/plastic wrap combo I tried, but one day I put the uneaten half into this wonderful little lunch box and that avocado stayed green for 3 days! (until I decided eat it.)

So if this container can keep a cut up avocado green then I really trust it to keep other fresh fruits and veggies FRESH too!

It's also a good size her snacks, I can put a few different things in it and we will likely be able to make use of it for many years to come :)

Easy to wash, Easy to use, No muss, no fuss.

The ONLY thing I noticed was I had to re-align the seal in the lid when I took it out of the box. But it was easy and haven't thought about it since!

Just received this item and 2 of the flaps (shorter ones) do not close. The bento box is very small. It's definitely a "baby" bento box, not for toddler. Also, I ordered the green one and it came with an orange one.

Green Sprouts Aqua Bottle Assorted

Green Sprouts Aqua Bottle BPA and Phthalate Free'Colors are selected at random'We've owned 3 of these purchased at Whole Foods.

Pros: We keep purchasing them b/c our 1.5 y.o. can easily open & close it herself. It's BPA & Phthalate Free. It's transparent so you can see how much liquid is left easily. It's standard size so fits in cupholders. It's a very toddler-friendly, easy to handle size. The straw is soft so doesn't get chewed into a squished narrow opening like many hard straws do.

Cons: Not durable. Our daughter dropped 1 of our 3 from the kitchen table to the floor and a huge circle hole cracked out of the lid. Not the best design: The 2nd of 3 was ruined when we brought it to the beach & a few granules of sand got btw. the flip lid and lid, scratching lines in the material & rendering it difficult to open.

This is the only bottle/cup my 10 month old will drink out of! We've used others, but my daughter ends up chucking them across the room. This is the only one she doesn't let go of and she actually drinks out of it. The first day we bought it, she gobbled up all 12 ounces! She loves it. It is durable because she's set it aside a few times and it fell, but still hasn't broken. Also, it DOES leak if you tip it towards you because the hole on the top makes it easier to sip out of. But, she doesn't tip it anyway and it comes with an easy-to-use cap. I'd say this is the best sippy/straw cup out there (and we've used lots).

Buy Green Sprouts Aqua Bottle Assorted Now

I was looking for a straw bottle for my baby as she didn't take regular bottles and I didn't want to give her the sippy cup. My baby was 6 m.o. when I gave it to her since then it's her favorite toy. She figured it out in a matter of seconds.

The pros:

clear BPA free plastic to see how much liquid is in

measurements are in mm and oz

soft silicone top of the straw can't hurt my baby gums even if she sips/chews it in the car on the bumpy ride

the straw is smaller than regular ones thus creating less flow (with the regular straws the flow is too much for her to handle and the majority of liquid ends up on her/floor)

perfect size for her tiny hands

The cons:

the straw is smaller than the regular ones (hard to clean. I use the bottle nipple brushes and it take all my strength to get it inside the straw). Would be nice if manufacturer come out with it's own brush (if they have it, I don't know about it).

We have been using this cup for over a month now and so far so good. I've bought it at local Whole Foods.

Our toddler has enjoyed using these bottles since she was a year old. We've owned two over the last 7 months.

Pros: Very easy for toddlers to hold, sip from, and open and close. Semi-transparent bottles make it easy to see how much liquid remains.

Cons: Bottles leak from the straw when you take it out of the fridge and the pressure equalizes. Also leak from around the threads even when cap and valve are secured. The open/close tabs have chipped off of both bottles from having been dropped onto hardwood and tile floors. The straws, apparently great teethers, need replacing every one or two months. The decorations on the bottle wear away after a few washes (we handwash the bottles). Have I mentioned these bottles leak?

My son is EBF and refuses all bottles. gave this to him ( 5 months, 3 weeks) and instantly started drinking right from the straw! So much for bottles, right on to the cup!!!

Happy Baby Organic Baby Food 3 Homestyle Meals

Happy Baby Organic Baby Food 3 Homestyle Meals, Super Salmon, 4-Ounce PouchesI give props to any mom, especially one that holds down a full time job or two, that can puree and strain her own food. If that's you, hat's off. You're my hero. I'm no superhero, so my goal was to find the best quality, best tasting food with minimal processing. Let's face it, there are plenty of organic options out there. And these days, I think most of them are good. The little man likes the Gerber organics fruits. They're easy to find and inexpensive. But hands down, the Happy Baby products are the best quality, best tasting (in my opinion) and most convenient of them all. The pouches are great, especially for when we're on the go. We can eat the fruit varieties without even putting on a bib. The Chick Chick is the man's favorite (bib required). The negative is that they're about twice the price of the Gerber fruits and meats. So if you're on a budget, this may be a bit of a stretch. Nonetheless, keep some pouches around for when you travel. Baby will love them!

My daughter absolutely used to love the original version of the Chick Chick baby food (with Chicken, Sweet Potatoes, and Brown Rice). Unfortunately, the recipe has apparently just been updated (though not reflected on Amazon's page as of 2/24/2012) to include totally different ingredients (except for the chicken). Now my daughter absolutely refuses to eat this product. The consistency and flavor seem to have drastically changed. Hopefully your child will enjoy the new blend, but I wanted to provide a warning for those of you that may have tried the other version...

Buy Happy Baby Organic Baby Food 3 Homestyle Meals Now

I was hoping that the new recipe would include more protein/fat than the original, since in my opinion, the protein/essential fatty acids that are abundant in salmon are the best reasons to feed it to a baby. Well, I should have taken the time to research the nutritional info before purchasing, because this item actually contains less of both. If you can manage to get your baby to eat an entire pouch of this, he/she will get a mere 1 gram of protein, or 6% of the RDA for a baby, .5 grams of fat, and 50 calories.

That makes this a nutrient poor food. And HappyBaby a pretty despicable company.

I make a lot of my own baby food, but was not about to make a meat baby food. After buying a few different purees, I tried Chick Chick. My fussy 9 month old LOVED it instantly. I don't know if it is the flavor or the texture (nice with some small bits in it), but she gobbles it down. It is worth the price (especially if you do subscribe and save) and I am pleased that she is getting a high quality protein meal and I don't have to puree chicken!

Why, why, why did they change the formula?? Our twins loved this. Now just like gobble gobble, they wont take it.

Company's website with the old and new formula: [..]

Only guess is that sweet potato is much more expensive than corn (both the top ingredients).

Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether

Vulli Sophie the Giraffe TeetherMy name is Shelby and this is my video review of my 5-month-old son playing with Sophie the Giraffe. We love Sophie. She is very well-made and I hope seeing Sophie in action will be helpful to others. Also, I think I repeat myself a little in the video--sorry about that!

*****UPDATE 3 AND 1/2 YEARS LATER*****

Little Theo in the video is turning 4 at the end of this month and I wanted to comment on what a long and useful life his Sophie had. She endured years of some very hard chewing and never cracked, tore, or got any holes. She got a little dirty and lost some paint, but other than that she was still going strong when Theo finally outgrew her. Her long legs turned out to be perfect for those 2 year molars as well, since they reached all the way back. I ended up throwing her away since it seemed like a really gross hand-me-down, but she was structurally in as good a condition as the day we bought her.

Now we're on baby #2 and Sophie #2. Our daughter had six teeth (four on top, two bottom) when we adopted her at 16 months old and she took to Sophie right away. If you're wondering if Sophie is a good teether for an older infant or a child who already has some teeth and a strong jaw, I give that a wholehearted "Yes!" As long as there are still teeth coming in, Sophie is fantastic.

Please be aware that no young child should be left unattended with any toy including Sophie. Because of her size and shape, she is easy to remove from a child's mouth should something go wrong. As I said, our Sophie lasted over 3 years without any cracking or splitting.

We STILL love Sophie, even after all of these years. Happy teething!

**************************************

My 5 month old daughter LOVES her Sophie the Giraffe toy! This toy is absolutely wonderful in every way. Sophie is made of soft rubber and makes a pleasant-sounding squeak whenever any part of her body is squeezed, so even a young baby can elicit a reaction from the toy with minimal effort.

I don't know what it is about Sophie, but whenever my daughter plays with her, she gets very vocal and talkative.

I saw another review which referred to this toy as "a glorified dog toy". That reviewer is mistaken, and simply doesn't realize the value of this toy.

Sophie's body, while soft, has several areas of thicker rubber (the nubs on her head, her ears, and her feet) which are perfect for teething babies to gnaw on for relief.

Sophie's contrasting colors (spots) are visually stimulating to a baby.

She is easy to grip given her long, thin neck.

This toy is made of 100% natural rubber and uses food-grade paint (SAFE!).

This is a quality baby toy which will last for many years.

I would much rather pay $20 for a safe, engaging toy for my baby, than pay $5 for some piece of junk with lead paint.

We just got this for our infant, and I couldn't help but give it a bit of a test chew, myself. Now, I obviously don't have a huge deal of experience (or, memory, rather) with teething toys, but this is good stuff. Very satisfying to bite on. I'm thinking of getting a second one for myself to use in the office to deal with stress. Much better than my kid's silicone pacifier, which I've also tried.

My only complaint is that the giraffe appears to have fluorescent lip stick, which is a bit disconcerting to see in a giraffe, even a French one.

Read Best Reviews of Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether Here

Beware! This is a fake! I would have never noticed if I didn't hold it up beside a real one. They are totally different. I figured this out because the paint began to peel off immediately and my cousin told me she had the same problem with one she got off of amazon. She went to a store and bought a replacement that will not peel. When we compared the two, the colors of the giraffe are different, the spots are different, and even the shape and legs are different. It is a shame someone is selling these fakes, or at least a bad version of the toy since the paint will come off in a child's mouth.

Want Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether Discount?

We've had Sophie for a little while, and until 3 days ago, I often recommended it to others. I am still a bit traumatized over what happened (and could have happened), and would definitely NOT recommend it unless a baby is secure and unable to roll over with it. I would also strongly caution anyone who owns this toy to PLEASE be careful and supervise your child at all times! I am extremely careful about my children's toys (choking hazards don't stay in the house!), yet the possibility of this hazard didn't even occur to me until it happened. Hopefully, sharing my experience will prevent a tragedy for another family.

My teething baby was chewing on Sophie and rolled onto his tummy (he is not yet able to roll from tummy to back consistently). When he rolled, Sophie's long leg jammed into his throat. Since he was on top of it and couldn't roll back, he could not get it out. I was right there and didn't even realize what was happening until he made a muffled crying sound. When I picked him up, he was already turning purple and immediately vomited and started screaming. Just another minute or two and the situation could have turned tragic. So far, neither the US distributor nor the manufacturer has responded to my attempts to contact them, but I'm hopeful they will respond and implement a design change (shorter legs?) to eliminate the possibility of this happening.
