I like the Bumkins bag a lot better because:
1. it's MUCH easier to thoroughly wash and dry on a day-to-day basis. This is the same material as the super awesome Bumkins Waterproof Super Bib, Guppies. It doesn't hold stains and dries in a jiffy. This makes it very practical to use every day which is key for busy moms. Itzy Ritzy was a lot more difficult to keep clean.

2. way cheaper than Itzy Ritzy
Both have zippers, which I prefer to the velcro.
The prints are loud and colorful. Some adults may find them garrish. My kid loves the Dr. Seuss pattern. I personally would be fine taking this in my own lunch to work. Sure, it's a kid's print, but who cares. It's a sack lunch snack bag. If someone at work is going to make fun of you for having a Dr. Seuss snack bag, they need to seriously grow up.
It's NOT waterproof, but will hold moist things fine. You probably don't want to put anything super juicy in it.
For cleaning, I have to go with the Bumpkins bags, They are very easy to clean and dry quickly. Because they are all plastic, you can dry them off. The Itzy Ritzy, because they have the cloth outside, take longer to dry after being washed. However, I'd often throw the Itzy Ritzy ones in the clothes washer, and I don't feel comfortable doing that with the Bumpkins ones. Just something about the thought of the plastic in the washer. Though I did note and confirm that they are BPA free. (I definitely don't want to put my food in a BPA bag.)
The sandwich bag size is the perfect size for snacks. As other people have noted, the designs seem a bit childish. I'm still a fan but they are definitely noticeable at work. It's good for more than just food. I bought two of the sandwich bags, and the 2 pack of small snack bags, and I've also found that they are good for tossing in diaper cream and other stuff that can leak but you need to carry around in your diaper bag or elsewhere. That way if it leaks, it's contained.

Now that I have it, I realize how many things it's really not good for. Crackers or pretzels can and will be smashed in my purse or my son's lunch bag. Cheese or meat sandwiches are out of the question unless you have enough bags to use a fresh one every day. Berries are an obvious no-go. After agonizing half the summer last year about what nifty things to buy to pack my son's lunches in this year I finally just used the hard plastic containers with flip up lids we have been using for years (from that big Swedish store) and that is what I will stick with. They wash easily, dry by draping them over a cup or glass, and don't wear out for a very long time (eventually holes will manage to show up in them, causing them to leak). They don't leak (until they get holes in them), and you can see what is inside them. A ziplock bag can close itself, but the one big advantage of this product is a decent zipper, which works even better than a ziplock.As a replacement for a plastic bag, especially a ziplock plastic bag, what does this provide?
1. Waterproof--1 star. It is not waterproof. It is only good for dry products.
2. Easy to clean and dry--2 stars. It is not very easy to clean, hard to dry effectively, and it retains odors.
3. Visibility of contents--1 star.
4. Self-sealing capability--5 stars.
The only thing this bag might be good for is to hold a sandwich which is put inside a lunchbox. Or it might hold some carrot sticks. It won't keep the item inside it cold, so anything that needs to be refrigerated, such as a meat or cheese or fish sandwich, will need to be placed in an insulated lunch box with some "blue ice." (By the way, a tuna sandwich would probably end up making the bag unusably smelly afterwards.)
I don't eat many sandwiches, and I only occasionally carry around carrot sticks, so this bag is rather a bust for my own purposes.

I really love the idea of reusable bags, although as a busy person I have to admit that convenience takes precedence. Obviously, these bags are made primarily for children, but even though I'm an adult I often take peanut butter sandwiches to work. So I thought these bags might work well for my needs. The bag is a good size for sandwiches large enough to hold typical or slightly over-large sandwich bread. You could also use it for various snacks, like pretzels, chips, granola, or fruit. I use mine for sandwiches, but it is water-proof, so I tested it by pouring a bit of water into it. The material held the water perfectly, even over time, although it did leak (at the point where the zipper meets the side) when I turned it upside down.The instructions indicate that it should be washed in warm water and tumble dry low or hang to dry. All of my laundry loads use hot water and high heat, so this does not work for me. I tried washing it in my regular loads of laundry (hot water, high dryer heat), and it held up fine. These bags do everything they should do, and I think they'd work well for large families who take lunches every day. For me, they ended up being a bit inconvenient.

We tried these for our 10month son while in Canada. He LOVES both the banana and vegetable flavors. We love them as they are 1) not as messy as the arrowroot teething biscuits (while greatbaby spit and biscuit = cement) and 2) are larger than puffs so occupy him for longer periods of time (car ride from CA to TN and waiting to mom/dad to make dinner). Plus the dog loves them too when our son shares them with him.

Before I realized that these rice snacks are made in China, I gave them occasionally to both of my kids when they were first transitioning to solid foods. My babies loved them because the taste is very mild and they dissolve in the baby's mouth quite easily to make eating them easy for the baby. These biscuits barely have any calories or any nutritional value so I used them only on occasion for baby feeding training. And I was quite pleased with them because my babies enjoyed eating them so much.However, once I learned that these biscuits are made in China I stopped buying them. I don't prefer to buy baby food items produced in China as I know that their manufacturing protocols are not as stringent as they are in the US. Instead, I switched to buying puffs by Happy Baby and other biscuits by Plum Organics. Since Baby Mum-Mums are just basic rice biscuits many consumers are probably fine with knowing that Baby Mum-Mums are made in China. However, I believe that a lot of U.S. consumers do not realize that these biscuits are made in China when they purchase them. Anyhow, I now read the labels of all baby food products that I buy much more diligently to double check that they are made in the USA under US Safety standards.
The bottom line is that if it does not bother you that these biscuits are made in China, then I am sure your baby will love eating them and they do work well when the baby is learning to feed because they are very mild, dissolve quickly and are so easy for the baby to eat.

Someone else mentioned the lids not working, but I have used this brand before so I figured I would give them a shot. It is very true, the lids do not work. I bought them to be used to send food to MDO and they are definitely useless since the food would spill all over. It would cost more to ship them back that what I paid for them so they are just going into the recycling bin. :(
The only problem is, you'll have to buy more spoons (the pack only comes with one).

My 9 month son goes to daycare twice a week. Since we have been feeding him vegetables for lunch I needed separated bowls with lids. He eats two different vegetables at lunch. I looked at all the retail stores but trying to find ones with lids were very hard.These were worth the money. Only draw back is it seems like the lids want to come off sometimes from the middle, it secures the food in the compartments but don't let it get flipped upside down because then there is a mess.These may work as deep divided bowls, but don't even try to travel with them you'll end up with food all over your bag.

Anyone who has experience purchasing child feeding products probably knows that Take and Toss is not top of the line. They're made cheaply so that if you need to throw one away, it gets stained, ruined, lost, whatever....it isn't a huge loss. As such, they're also some of the cheapest products on the market.I needed some divided bowls for my 7 month old who had reached the point of wanting two varieties of food at a time. We make our own baby food, so it wasn't like I had a couple of jars I could just switch between. Additionally, I got tired of trying to balance two bowls and alternate bites. After reviewing prices and reviews, I purchased these.
The short version is....they work as divided bowls. Are they spectacular? No, they're plastic bowls for a baby. Are they trash? Nah, we've had them for a few months and all 4 (there are 4 in the pack, not 3) are still fine. We don't microwave them (you shouldn't microwave a baby's food, or anyone's really, and especially not in a plastic container), we hand wash them, and they work fine.
The little lip around the edge that is suppose to be for the lid to snap in, that part is a little annoying if the food sits for more than a couple of minutes, because a sponge or cloth can't really get in there. However, a bottle brush works fine, as does the sprayer on my kitchen sink. Alternately, rinsing them as soon as you're done solves the problem as well.
The lids are garbage, to be perfectly honest. They do not snap on, and therefore serve no purpose whatsoever....but I knew that from the other reviews, and we did not need the ability to cover the bowls since they were being used in the home.
If you need some divided bowls for an infant or toddler, for in home use, without lids, this product is perfectly fine for that. If you need something to travel with that has a cover, choose something else.
Badger Basket Embassy Wood Baby High Chair with Tray, Espresso
There were no reviews on Amazon.com, but I found some on Target. A few were negative, but most people recommended this high chair, so we thought we'd give it a try. We just put it together and liked the overall look to it, however, there is one major problem. There is a piece (non-removable without taking apart the high chair) under the tray that keeps the baby from falling through the bottom, but the space between that piece and the back is so small (about 8-10 inches,) we couldn't get our 9-month-old daughter into the high chair! She had straightened her legs and went stiff so we couldn't bend them, but even if she went limp, it would have been a challenge. They probably designed it that way so the tray would sit closer to the baby, preventing food from falling into their lap, but if they moved that piece forward by a couple of inches, it would be so much easier and still allow the tray to sit close. Also, the wood scratches fairly easily, so we weren't sure how great it would look after a couple of months of use. A nice thing about the chair though is that the height is perfect for sitting with the baby and feeding them. We were so excited to get this, so it was very disappointing that it doesn't work for us.A side note: The return policy says that you can only return unopened merchandise. The customer service rep told me that it doesn't apply to this. We were a little concerned when we decided to return it since we obviously had opened the box :)
The best feature is the plastic tray. The wooden tray stays attached and the plastic tray can be easily snapped on and off as needed. It is very easy to clean. I don't understand the point of tray liners that a lot of chairs come with. What baby eats neat enough that you only need to clean the middle of the tray? You also don't have to worry about a baby figuring out how to throw this off like many of them do when they have a tray liner.
As the first reviewer states, there is a definite problem with getting an infant or toddler into the chair with the tray attached. There is a strap that attaches from the tray and fits into an opening in the seat. The problem is that the strap is only long enough to reach the seat when the seat is placed in one of the first two slats in the chair and it is absolutely impossible to fit an older baby into the seat like that. The strap is just barely too short to reach the seat while in the third slat. We were able to make it work by placing the seat in the third slat and attaching a zip tie between the strap and the plastic piece the strap is supposed to attach to under the seat. It is not at all noticeable and the strap is still securely attached to the chair this way.
I'd also agree with the previous review that the finish on the wood is easily damaged. I've used a dark brown permanent marker on the spots where the finish scratched off and smeared it before it could dry. No one would be able to find those spots unless they were really looking for them. However, it does make me doubt the chair's ability to last the number of years to manufacturer claims it can.
The chair also comes with a pad that is covered with canvas. I'm not sure why they thought this was a good idea. It was constantly getting food stuck on it and was obviously tough to keep clean. I replaced this with a pad from the Boon chair (what I'd get if I had to do it again!) and now it works great. The original pad was attached to the chair with velcro that was stapled to the chair. Luckily, I was able to get the staples out with no problem.
The chair also has a harness system that eventually became more hassle than it was worth. It was very tough to get my hands in there to buckle it up and there was no way for my little one to crawl out with the tray attached and with the way the alternate pad fits in there. Also, she is never unsupervised in her chair so I don't worry about her going anywhere. Once we remove the tray and put her at the table I'm sure we'll be back to using the straps again. Another problem with the straps is that they are designed to just hang off the back of the seat & it does not look nice at all. Since we replaced the pad with one that was designed to have the straps placed through it, we were able to *barely* squeeze the straps through the new pad and it looks much better that way.
This chair has a great tray and can grow with a child to sit at a table. There are some big flaws, but we were able to get it to work for us.

This highchair is extremely dangerous. Please don't buy this! My mom purchased this chair for my daughter as a gift. I do really like the look of it and the ability to grow with the child, but this chair has major safety issues not to mention the cosmetic problems. My daughter was 11 months old when we got this and was able to get out of the straps in 5 seconds flat. They are completely useless and difficult to buckle in the first place. After only having this chair for two weeks, the plastic tray latch snapped off and the chair was scratched up just from normal use. The seat cover got dirty and fell apart after washing it one time. But none of this compares to the major issue. Because the straps don't work, my daughter has been sliding out the front of the seat on a regular basis. Most of the time she just gets halfway down and we lift her back up and move on. A little annoying, but not a huge deal. Yesterday she slid the whole way down to her neck and got stuck. I tried to pull her up and down and I couldn't get her to budge either way due to the chair's narrow design and the fact that the tray and leg pieces are screwed in. So, she was hanging there by her neck and I had to break those pieces to get her out before she got seriously hurt. It was so scary. This safety issue could be eliminated if the piece that goes between the legs connected to the seat. Instead there is a gap allowing enough room for a child to slide through. Loved the unusual look of this high chair and still do. But it's got a few problems. The whole tray doesn't come out, just the plastic cover. This makes it really hard to put the baby in the seat. And even though that plastic part of the tray is easy to clean, food gets all in the nooks and crannies of the wood part below and is almost impossible to wipe up. Also, we had to put a folded blanket on the back of the chair so the baby wouldn't hit is head on the hard wood. And maybe I'm an idiot, but the buckles don't seem to stay on the straps. They buckle together fine but slip right off the nylon straps.I wouldn't recommend this item. You'd be better off with something padded and functional.

The tray arrived broken. So I order a replacement for free from Badger, but while waiting for that I tried to assemble the rest of the chair and the wood was severely scratched right out of the box and one of the wood pieces was stripped so the screws wouldnt screw in. I didnt continue to put it together because it was too much work and I felt it wouldnt be safe in the end. I was disappointed, it seems like a good product. But its bad quality.Save 27% Off

Initially saw this fabulous product in Time Out New York Kids a few months ago. Kept it in the back of my mind b/c my 17-month-old son is fascinated by trucks. We've been having such a hard time getting him to eat at all, let alone use utensils. And the little interest he does take in using a fork or spoon is marred by frustration b/c most toddler utensils don't work very well. Then I remembered the Constructive Eating Utensil Set. Went online, read good reviews and decided to give it a try. When the package came, my son saw me open it and immediately wanted to play/use his new "toys." I had just tried giving him dinner within the hour; no success. I cut up some chicken (which he rarely eats) and an apple (he loves them). He immediately was able to spear the chicken with the fork and proceeded to eat an entire plate of food, by himself, clapping after each spoonand forkful. My mouth was dropped open as was Grandma's. TOTAL SUCCESS! This product is magic. I also love that it's not made with paint and that the plastic is safe. I highly recommend it... And think it would make a great gift/stocking stuffer. Wish they would invent something similar for girls. Sometimes people gets things right. This is one of those times. Bravo!

These quickly became our 2-year old girl's favorite meal accessories. They've become our default gift too, because every time another kid sees these, they immediately have to have them.They look incredibly real, but they are easy to use, a good size for little hands to hold, but also big enough that we can hold them easily when helping her with tough stuff like pasta and soup. The pusher is especially useful, as she learns to grip and use the fork and spoon.

I fell in love with this rattle when I found it online but it is not one of my LO's favorite toys maybe it will be as he gets older. It is suppose to be a rattle and I thought it was cool that it is filled with gem stones but it is the SOFTEST rattle ever it barely makes any noise. We can only hear it if we hold it up to our ears and shake it my LO hasn't even noticed that it is a rattle yet because he can't hear it and he LOVES to shake things. It's well made and beautiful but if you are only getting one or two toys I would prioritize others.

I try to only buy natural material items for my babies toy chest, so this product caught my attention. I also wanted to buy a cause and effect toy for my 5 month old, so I thought a rattle would be the perfect thing for him to manipulate. This is NOT a rattle because it does not produce enough sound to qualify as one. It is sooooo quiet, like it has a few grains of sand rattling around inside. It certainly doesn't produce enough sound to be a good cause and effect toy. Also, it smells chemically like wood varnish or something. I was afraid to let my baby put it in his mouth. We have a lot of wooden toys from Haba and Plan Toys and none of them have an odor like this. Be aware that this rattle is bigger than pictured. I thought it would be soup spoon sized, but the fish's head is about the size of a wooden stirring spoon. We purchased this rattle for our four-month old son. We were looking for something that was made of natural material and that he could easily grasp. This was one of the only dumbbell-style rattles that seemed to fit the bill. The rattle is exactly as pictured online with a natural finish and no rough edges. The only issue I have is that it is exceptionally quiet. I don't know what they used to make the rattle sound, but it sounds like sand or very small beads. For some people this might be a positive while for others a negative. Edited January, 27, 2012. I am very unhappy with this product and even more so with the California Baby company. So I am editing my review. Last year, I gave this product 5 stars. The whole family used this Super Sensitive wash since my daughter was a baby and we gave it as gifts as well. I was so impressed with how gentle it was and now SURPRISE!!! Without telling their customers, they have reformulated and added Sodium Benzoate and who knows what else. the company was not upfront about this nor were they about other ingredients in their products. I have just learned this recently. California Baby isn't cheap either, but we were buying a lot of it because we thought it was an excellent product. In the last 4 months, my daughter has developed little dry patches and tiny bumps all over her skin and I never guessed it was the wash. She's had this for months and she's been so itchy. I just put this together last night after seeing an article from a reliable source. I had been throwing away everything else because it never occurred to me that it would be this tried and true sensitive wash. SO now I am tossing ALL the California Baby products; shame and I loved their sunscreen too. Also, even though they added these new cheap ingredients I noticed they didn't lower the cost. Many of us paying for a premium low toxicity product for our families and they did the old switcheroo on us..... very deceptive and dishonest. Also, I don't ever remember CB doing any promotional sales for their customers. Customers don't come first with them. So I will find a new company, that's easy. Dolphin Organics is one that I heard good things about and so is Earth Mama Angel Baby. These two I plan to try soon.

I have very sensitive skin the old formula was wonderful. They have added thickening agents and emulsifiers, I can only assume to make the product "stretch further" in processing. When I decided to give it a try out of desperation it raised hives on the fingers pulling the seal off! Glad it was my hands, not my head. When our son was 2 months old he had contact eczema from baby oil. It started and got very bad within one day. I decided to go natural and got the California baby body lotion from whole food market in the evening and applied it to him before going to bed. I just hoped that it should help reduce the rash. When we woke up it was all gone. At that time it really seemed like a miracle. I applied baby oil in the first place because he was having small white heads kind of acne all over his body when I was aveeno baby body wash and lotion. He didn't get even those ever since I started using the California baby supersensitive body lotion and bodywash. Now he is 3.5months and I tried the regular body lotion from California baby and he doesn't have any reaction to it. Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton Classic Lightweight Dual Firmness Crib Mattress
After a significant amount of research, we decided on this mattress based on the quality, non-toxic materials and positive reviews. We intended to use this mattress in our new DaVinci Kalani crib. However, we were surprised to find that the mattress is too small for the crib! The Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends less than 2 finger widths space between the crib and the mattress. Both my husband and I were able to fit 2 fingers easily, making this mattress and crib combo a dangerous suffocation hazard! The stated measurements on the DaVinci Kalani crib were very close to true The width was listed as 28" and measured just over that number at 28 1/8". The Naturepedic mattress width was listed as 27 1/2" but really measured about 27". To make matters worse, the rounded edges of this model (seamless design, non-traditional binding) made the width at the surface of the mattress even smaller only 26 1/2". So the gap where the surface of the mattress meets the side of the crib is over 1 1/2" and very unsafe.I contacted Naturepedic about this problem and was told that they are aware that their mattresses do not work with several popular crib manufacturers, including DaVinci, Ikea, Pottery Barn, and others that I cannot now remember. I asked why they do not advertise this point and was told they would look into that. I suspect their mattresses will not work with any crib with the standard 28" width, given the measurements that I took. This is an excellent mattress of quality workmanship and worth the expense. It's very light and managable; however, it utilizes an unstructured framework that runs about an inch small in length. The shortness created a gap on the ends that was too wide for our standard-sized crib (28 wide by 52 1/4 long). We exchanged it for the boxspring 252 model, which seems to run a little bigger and fits tightly all the way around.I bought this mattress after reading the reviews and baby bargains book recommended the mattress also. The mattress is light weight feels super sturdy etc. easy to change the sheets! However, my 5 month old is off the chart for baby weight and the bed started to sink in. I don't normally write reviews. If you think your baby is going to be big (my husband is 6'3" tall big guy), you might consider a different mattress? I contacted Naturepedic and customer service was excellent. They didn't ask for pictures only proof of purchase. They shipped me a new mattress with free return shipping. Good luck out there.. being a parent is the best thing in the world!I shopped around looking for the best organic mattress for my son. This is the only one that is safe at every layer, still waterproof, and a good buy since it has two different firmness options.
