These little pieces of cake are so charming and cute. They are soft and for some reason are very attractive to little kids. The first thing every single kid did was bite a slice. Only thing...the "cherry" decorations are large plastic beads. If they get bitten or pulled off they could be a choking hazard. I am encouraging my three year old to keep them out of her mouth, but it's kind of hard for her to resist, because they are just so darn cute and inviting looking.

Helpful hint: get a set of plastic dishes, for pretend serving, and a cake box from a bakery (I put cupcake stickers all over the outside of the cake box), otherwise these little morsels will be all over the place. I am thinking of sewing or gluing little pieces of velcro onto the sides, so they stick together.

My daughter loves singing the happy birthday song and serving slices of this cute little cake to family and friends. Kids and adults alike comment on how realistic the cake looks. The packaging resembles a true bakery box and adds to the charm. Great buy!

That is what my 2 year old says when he offers us a piece of this after dinner. This delicious looking cake is indeed special. Detailed, and wonderfully designed and crafted this tasty cake is a great addition to our kitchen. The biofino products are scaled a bit larger than the Haba wood food and so it is a good choice for a younger child. If you are concerned, you could take the plastic bead off as another reviewer expressed concern over the size and also possible lead content?? I'm really not too worried about this, and I think you could get easily carried away being paranoid about this stuff. I'm pretty sure that you would have to eat a lot of these beads to get poisoned, and I would be more concerned with the bead being a choking hazard. But they seem really secure and we have had no loosening so far, and my son is really past all that anyway. But of course you use your discretion right?...we are all different and so our our kids. I tend to be more laid back about this stuff. I certainly would still recommend this product.

This cake would be perfect if it had a sturdy box or container that it could be stored in. The box it came in is cute, and we are using the tray for now but it is coming apart. One reviewer mentioned this as well and that it could use Velcro, which is not a bad idea. I think maybe a thick cardboard cake circle that you can buy at AC Moore with some velcro dots would do the trick. I would put the velcro on the bottom not the sides since I would not want to cover up any of the lovely layers of this cake! For now, the cake pieces are sort of piled in amongst the other food and I will probably at least look for a sturdier cake box to keep them in.

Melissa & Doug Sandwich Stacking Games

We used this game at our Harvest Fest this year. The quality of the sandwich pieces held up to several hundred kids. I appreciated the booklet that came with the cards and durability of the sandwich pieces because it gave us a variety of options. The games can be played by one or several kids. It was a hit and will be used again next year. I'm glad that I ran into this at our local toy store!

I purchased this item for my 3 year old grandson. He loved it and what makes it even better is that his mom loved it as well. I enjoyed watching the two of them playing with it. Melissa and Doug a name you can trust when it comes to kid's toys and games have come up with the best sandwich stacking game I have ever seen. A game that does not require stocking up and having to replace worn out batteries. The different ingredients are all made out of a soft fluffy flannel like material. Each piece has velcro on it so that the various parts of the sandwich, tomato, cheese, pickles etc. stick to each other. The 4 pieces of "bread" can be worn as a glove and you can play toss and catch with the assorted "sandwich" ingredients. When caught the ingredients stay put due to the velcro sewn onto each piece. The different parts of the "sandwich" are huge. It would take a lot to lose any of the "sandwich" ingredients and not be able to find them for weeks, in fact looking at the toy it would be impossible for any of the pieces to disappear when played with at home. The ingredients are numerous and brightly colored. The best part of this toy is that in addition to playing toss and catch with it, you can play 10 different games with the same pieces. This game comes with a durable, brightly colored deck of cards and a brightly illustrated, easy to understand instruction booklet that lists the various games that can be enjoyed using the different "sandwich" stacking ingredients. Each game is easy enough for a young child to enjoy. The variety of different ways to play with this toy makes it 10 times better then your average game that many children get bored with after a short period of time. If the pieces become soiled you can hand wash them in cold water using a mild detergent. I would highly recommend this game to anyone with a child that is not teething and chewing on toys. Very well made, very durable, and 10 times the fun both for kids and the adults that are part of the child's game playing experiences which in my opinion is an integral part of every young child's early learning years.

This is a unique toy that promotes creativity and imagination. My son received this for a gift when he was about 2.5 and immediately liked it. The pieces are soft felt with a bit of Velcro so that they stick together when stacked as a sandwich. At first, he just learned to recognize and identify each one (tomato, bread, lettuce, pickles, etc.) and then he'd put together sandwiches for us and pretend to eat them. What's great about this toy is that it comes with a booklet and cards for probably dozens of games to be played with these sandwich pieces, utilizing one player or multiple. Plan Toys Activity Assorted Fruit Playset

I bought this and a similar plan toys cutting playset for my kids age 2 and 4 for Christmas. This playset was the biggest hit out of all the presents. The 2 and 4 year old love cutting the fruit and making "food" out of it with their play kitchen and pot set. This one is big enough to not feel like a choking hazard, and easy for the kids to manipulate. I anticipate hours of fun from this one. They seem well made and resemble the fruits enough for my kids to enjoy them.

I am happy with what this product is made with because its a safer material and I am tired of everything being plastic. That being said-this is a very hard product. My son thought it would be cool to throw since the orange looked like a ball. These fruits and veggies are pretty heavy for what they are and could potentially break something if thrown. My son does not have th easiest time using the knife to cut the fruits apart (although he IS only 2) and sometimes gets frustrated and in turn, I must cut the fruits while he cheers me on :)

Our son loves playing with a couple of our smaller pots and pans. I wanted some sturdy wooden fruit for him to use, and was concerned about some of the M&D reviews complaining about the paint chipping. No complaints thus far with this Plan Toys set. The fruit are a little on the smaller side, but they work great for our 20-month old (and I'm sure they'll be fine as he gets older). The colors are a little on the muted side, but I'd rather that than have the paint coming off/chipping. Very cute.

ELLA'S KITCHEN Chic-Chic-Chicken Casserole, 4.5-Ounce (Pack of 7)

I almost didn't buy this product, because of the bad review. I especially didn't want to spend the money on a bulk package of it and have it be "bad" like the other reviewer claimed. Thankfully I saw these single pouches at Target so I bought one to try. Lily loved it!

My baby is 11 months old and eats every kind of organic pouch there is. She loves the savory ones and in my opinion there aren't enough of them available to satiate her desire for variety. She honestly seems to love anything new or different the most. She really loves the meat ones and I'm happy to feed her something other than fruit, because I believe picky eaters are created, not born and I'm definitely hoping to raise a fellow foodie here, so I've bought every flavor of organic pouch I could ever find and I always switch it up when feeding her. I like to alternate between sweet and savory and there aren't enough savory options out there to keep up the variety as much as I'd like.

I think that if your baby has already been eating the meat pouches and the all-veggie pouches that he or she will love this one too. But, if you've only been feeding your baby fruits and bland baby cereal then perhaps he or she won't like this one.

However, I feel it is definitely a preference thing. These pouches are not "bad" in general and many babies will love them. The chicken ones just smell like chicken soup and the beef one smells like beef stew. I'm not trying to eat some with her haha, but I did get some chicken on my lip once when she was trying to "share" and it wasn't that bad. I just thought it was weird from being cold mostly. And it IS baby food as well, there is no added salt or anything that I'd add to my soup/stew either hehe. :)

The other reason the meat pouches are great is that some people actually don't do the baby cereals (like me). From what I've read, the cereals aren't a very good nutritional compliment to breastmilk, they're typically binding as well and lots of rice was recently testing high for arsenic, so I'd definitely steer clear of the rice ones for now at least. Breastfed babies do need an extra source of iron though, so the meat pouches or the bean pouch are a GREAT option for those of us interested in feeding our baby whole and real foods. I'm grateful to have an organic pre-made option out there to help supplement iron levels besides baby cereal and I personally think these pouches are far better than baby cereal, but that might just be my preference. I'm not claiming this is one of the best baby foods out there, but I can tell you it's one of MY baby's favorites. :)

My now 13-month old still eats these when she needs a quick fix, or if we're out and there isn't anything on the menu for her to easily chow down on. She's at the point where she can squeeze the packet into her mouth on her own, which is hilarious. She loved these when she was about 7-8 months old as wellperfect for easy feeding (and I'm too busy/lazy to make all my own baby food...). For added control especially at the earlier ages, get the little spoons you can screw into the packetthey are lifesavers! I can see some kids not liking the taste, but I think you can say that about anything. Babies/toddlers are picky, so you just have to experiement to find something they like.

My son loves all the Ella's Kitchen fruit & veggie pouches (along with Plum Organics as well). But this chicken meal... yuck. Not only does it not smell appealing, but it tastes awful. My son is 11 months and eats everything I put in front of him, but this Ella's Kitchen chicken meal (along with the ELLA'S KITCHEN Oh So Creamy Chicken and Corn Mash, 4.5-Ounce (Pack of 7)) is something he refuses to eat. I literally spoon it in his mouth and he sticks out his tongue and pushes it out as quick as he can.

The only way I got him to eat this is by mixing it with fruit baby food (with a ratio of 2:1 fruit to chicken). I recommend sticking with homemade chicken. I have not tried other meat-based baby foods but given how Ella's Kitchen tends to be incredibly tasty, I can only imagine how bad other brands' food must be.

My baby is almost 8 months old and she's showing an interest for finger foods. She hasn't learned the pincher grasp with her fingers yet so she can't feed herself cheerios but she sure loves to hold sticks of food in her hands. I try everything my baby eats and when I first tasted these, they reminded me of Cheetos. The cheddar flavor is very evident. Some pieces are small -some even too short for her to hold -looks like sizes vary slightly. She hasn't had any choking issues with these since they melt in your mouth fairly quickly. Sodium value is also fairly decent. I have noticed though that if opened (with lid on) for more than 1 week, it starts to become less crunchy and more on the chewy side.

We attribute our son's new-found interest in eating finger foods to these little cheese sticks. He first discovered them on a visit to grandma's. They're perfect long enough that he can hold them in his hand and still bite off the ends, and he appears to think they're quite delicious. He's start being interested in other finger foods now that he has mastered these, but they are by far his favorites. Would definitely recommend!

Piyo Piyo 2 Color Handled Dining Plate

VERY cute plate. The suction part works better if you put some water under it before pressing down. And always hand wash the rubber ring! I put mine on the top shelf of the dishwasher and it warped a bit, and the suction power was even worse after that. It's a cute dish, and I'll definitely use it in the future, but the suction ring just isn't great. I found some cheap ones at Target (Munchkin brand, I think?) that are three sizes of bowls per package and they work better.

BABYBJORN 2 Pack Spoon

The spoons themself are great not cheap plastic! However, it would help to know that these are NOT intended for babies...unless your baby has a very wide mouth. I'll be saving mine for when my daughter is a toddler but for now, I had to re-order the Gerber baby spoons.

These are great spoons. Like you, I read a bunch of reviews for baby spoons. What is wrong with us?! Anyways, here are the pros and cons.

Pros:

cute eyes on the handle

it picks up food real good

dishwasher safe

baby likes to gnaw on the handle like a teether

thick enough handle, my baby can hold the spoon himself (since 6 months old)

the spoon is similar enough to a regular non-baby spoon, which I think helps the baby be able to use them when you forgot to pack your baby spoon.

Cons:

oily (especially tomato sauce based) foods tend to dye the spoon handle, but it comes out after 1 or 2 washes in dishwasher.

Stop reading reviews about spoons! It will drive you crazy! I'm sure any spoon will do. :)

These spoons are well balanced, nicely shaped, and easy for my 1 year old to use. The white "spoon" part is quite thin, but sturdy, so it is easy for him to stick in his mouth and get all the food. The chubby handles are rubberized and easy to grip, plus the eyes make them cute and fun. The only downside is they are a little expensive, but worth the price I think!

The spoons are cute and very functional. My baby was 6 months old when we started feeding her purees, and this spoon is perfect. It's round and has no edge that could possibly hurt her, even when she's playing instead of eating her food. The tip is made of soft but sturdy plastic and is very gentle on her gums, but not so soft that I would worry her biting into it. Also, the eyes on the spoon proves to be a great entertainment for babies my daughter would stare at them at times with a funny face. The novelty has since worn off, but she still loves her spoons. And so do I.

These Gerber Graduates snacks are good because they are high in iron. My picky eater went for his 12 months check up and the doctor said his iron level is exceptionally high for a picky eater. I told the doctor that my baby eats a lot of Gerber snacks, but not baby meal/food. I orderd them in bulk because of subscribe and save. It was a pretty good deal and I didn't have to cut coupon. Sometimes when we are on the go and I am hungry, I also snack on these.
