Lansinoh® HPA® Lanolin, 4 pack

Lansinoh® HPA® Lanolin, 4 packThis product was recommended by one of my childbirth class instructors. Once applied, it is very soothing, however it is very tacky and must be rubbed & warmed between your fingers prior to application for optimal application. Also, be very careful not to get this onto your clothes, you'll have an extremely difficult time washing it out (if you can) as it leaves a very oily residue.

Beaba Bib'Expresso 3 in 1 Baby Bottle & Food Warmer

Beaba Bib'Expresso 3 in 1 Baby Bottle & Food WarmerI purchased this product hoping it would provide some relief to the late night feedings. This product definitely delivered. Being able to prepare a perfectly warmed up bottle within seconds has helped ease our newborn and avoid the screaming fits we were previously dealing with. We have also noticed a huge difference in regards to our sons fussiness and gas. He is no longer having issues with gas since we started using this product. I would highly recommend purchasing this item. Not only will it make your life a lot easier, but your child will be happier as well.

Ugh. I hated this product the second I took it out of the box. I sent it back after only a few uses because I just couldn't deal with it.

(1) It's made of really cheap plastic material! I was shocked. The back part wouldn't even stay on (plastic bottle warmer component)!! It was super lose and wouldn't click into its spot.

(2) It doesn't make the formula for you. It simply heats up water to the proper temperature really fast (body temp, like breast milk), and then you still have to prepare the bottle (add formula, shake, etc). This freaked me out a little bit because you're really supposed to use boiling water, mix the formula, and then cool down to body temp to feed. This is due to the fact that powdered formula is not sterile and there's a low risk of bacteria that could get your baby sick. So if you're just using body temp water and mixing it, you're technically not making the bottle right. I'm SUPER OCD, so I want to make formula correctly, to take out that small risk factor.

(3) The instructions said to pour some water into the reservoir to do a serialization cycle. And then it said to pour everything out when it's done, but then to wipe out the excess water afterwards. Wipe it with what?? A sponge? A Tissue? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of sterilizing the compartment? I couldn't decide what to do: wipe it or leave it. If you wipe it, you're getting bacteria back into the water reservoir, but if you don't, you're leaving water in a small enclosed space where bacteria can grow. If you leave the lid open to air dry, you're still introducing bacterial to the reservoir. There was just no way to win in this situation. And when you're using it multiple times a night, are you going to dry it afterwards each time?! Probably not, because you're tired. So it leaves a breeding ground for bacteria. The next time you use it, it's not warming up the water to boiling, just body temp, so it's not killing any bacteria in there, just adding it to your baby's food. ACK! So unhygienic.

(4) Funny thing in the instruction manual it said you should "tip it forward" in order to get all of the water out. Wow. So ghetto. Really not well designed.

It was good in theory. I so desperately wanted a faster, better way to warm up formula at night. We're just going back to pre-made liquid formula at night and warming it up in a bottle the old fashioned way. It takes longer, and it's more expensive, but it's a better alternative to this machine!

i was looking for a product that would help with preparing a quick bottle. from this products description it matched what I was looking for...it's really easy to prepare bottle in a short time, product does heat up water very fast and it's ready for baby to take (perfect temperature). Night feeds are great and speedy. The only fall back that I see is that the water doesn't drain all the way as you fill up the bottle, but a good workaround is just to add a little bit more (not a problem for me) I have also used the other functions warm food and cleaning options which work great as well. I've only used the product for about 2wks, so far it's a good product.

Silikids Silibib

Silikids Silibib, RedI bought a couple of these Silikids Silibibs when I started my daughter on solids. The thought of doing a load of laundry full of bibs just didn't appeal to me. These bibs have worked out great. Just handwash and go! We've had these bibs for over a year now and they still look good as new. Just don't expect these bibs to stop liquids, it's silicone, so it will just run off. Oh, and now my daughter is strong enough to pull these bibs off, so they don't stay on for very long.

This bib is great for feeding your baby food. You can just wash it off in the sink when you are done and re-use it right away. I like the baby bjorn bibs too, but the tray at the bottom gets in the way when my baby is in his high chair. The baby bjorn bib is really good for when you are eating out and don't have a high chair with a tray. This bib is soft and flexible and keeps my baby relatively clean. I only use my cloth bibs when my baby is drooling a lot. I bought two of these and they took the place of many cloth bibs.

I first recieved a couple of these bibs as a baby shower gift and I didn't realize how much more practical they were than regular, cloth bibs. I first used the cloth bib and became frustrated with how often I had to throw it in the wash(one per meal). After running out of the cloth bibs, I turned to the Silikids bib out of desperation, and now its all I use for my cute little food spitter! She spits and spills on it, and I just wipe it off as I go. That's it. I also keep one in my car and in my purselets face it, you always have a wipe or a napkin on you, but never a bib. I can be in a restaurant, she dirties it, I wipe it off and throw it in my bag. I like this product and buy some for every baby shower.

The silibib gets the job done! This bib is so easy to clean and it keeps the mess off my kids! It fits perfectly flat agaist the chest and the colors and design make it so cute! I even saw Tori Spelling's little boy wearing one on TV! I love that it's dishwasher safe so you can just throw it in there to be cleaned, so easy!

Obviously, totally non-absorbent (great for ease in cleaning the bib itself but not at all for protecting clothing, highchair pad, et al from slops and stains). Much too small (not much more than a decorative collar) to work as a feeding bib. Utterly useless as a teething bib.

Munchkin Deluxe Auto Bottle Warmer, Tan

Munchkin Deluxe Auto Bottle Warmer, TanI was disappointed to find out the warmer takes way too long to heat a bottle. The sleeve would get warm but after 20 minutes the bottle was still very cold. Unless you're on a long car ride and have time to plan ahead I would not recommend it.

Thermos Foogo Leak-Proof SS 7 Ounce Sippy Cup, Blue, 9 Months

Thermos Foogo Leak-Proof SS 7 Ounce Sippy Cup, Blue, 9 MonthsTrying to find a great non-plastic, safe sippy cup, I was excited to see this one coming on the market. Loved that it's thermal, as we live in the mid-atlantic region with long hot summers. And that it's Thermos.

But after a few months of trying to use them (yup, we bought a couple), they sit in the back of the cupboard. The problems are: unless you get the lid parts aligned perfectly and on super tight, it seeps when it's laying on its side. The lid has 4 pieces, not a huge problem, but try as I might I just can't the lid on right, so if my daughter drops it, it leaks in the car, on the couch, the carpet, you get it. The other problem is there's a silicone ring inside the cup, just under the rim, and you really have to get under it to clean the cup (can't pull it out) or the cup with smell sour all the time.

We have had great luck with the Klean Kanteen easy to clean, comes with a sport top (some of them) and you can get a sippy top adapter that allows you to use Avent sippy tops/lids sold separately. No leaks, very clean, stainless steel wish there was a thermal version! Also, our 3.5 yr old has trouble opening and closing the twisting sport top on her Sigg bottle, so Klean Kanteen works best for us for now.

We purchased this Fuggo sippy cup for our toddler a couple of weeks ago, liking the visual style, apparent durability, and Thermos brand name. Unfortunately, we almost immediately found this to be one of the worst products we have purchased for our child.

The biggest problem is that this leak-proof cup leaks. The cap is so terribly over-designed that taking it apart and putting it back together properly is a chore. Four different pieces (the outer blue shell, the yellow mouthpiece insert, and a 2-piece form-fitting silicone and plastic valve contraption) must be separated, each individually cleaned and then reassembled. This might be simple enough if it actually worked, but when putting the lid back together the yellow and blue pieces simply do not realign properly. What this means is that the spout may be leak-proof but the cap itself isn't. We've followed the instructions implicitly and repeatedly end up with the contents spilling out of the top.

In addition, if your child likes to chew, this spout seems to be too thin, soft and flexible to be durable. Normally we'd think this might end up being a choking hazard, but since we won't use the cup because of the leakage we really don't know how durable it actually is.

And then there's the price. This Foogo costs approximately 2-3 times that of any other sippy cup we've purchased previously, and the cheaper ones don't leak and are simple to clean. Yes, this one may be insulated, but if you're in doubt spend the extra money you'll save on a small cooler bag.

Most disturbing is that I voiced these concerns to Thermos directly via it's website a few weeks ago. To date I've yet to receive the courtesy of a reply.

Steer clear of Foogo. It's not worth the bother, the leaks, the price, or Thermos' poor customer service.

...this cup pretty much rocks. Yeah, it has a few valvey-type parts---so do Avents and plenty of other sippies. And unlike any other sippies I know of, this thing has double-wall vacuum insulation, just like those equally rockin' Nissan Thermos insulated mugs for grown-ups. Keeps things cold even in 90+ heat, which makes my 20-month-old much more likely to drink enough water. Doesn't sweat all over your diaper bag, or get too slippery or cold for little hands. True, it's not absolutely positively 100% leakproof, but passed the hold-upside-down-and-shake test with flying colors...in actual use, maybe drips once or twice at random. So I'm really not sure how others are getting it to leak more than that.

To sum it up, it's a great cup. Keep it up, Thermos.

Everyone says it leaks. Maybe it does, but I don't use it in the car, etc. I have simply used it to wean my baby from bottles and to learn how liquid flows. So I don't even use the "leak-proof" valve, anyway. I have had a couple of nasty incidents in which the milk actually leaked through the rim of the cup (between the rim and the lid) but after I played with it a little, I found that I had screwed in on improperly. Now I just take extra care in making sure it's lined up and tight and have had no further problems.

I agree that kleen kanteen is better for preventing leaks on the go. My 3-year old uses those occasionally (we mostly use real cups at the dining table anyway), but those are too big and unwieldy for a baby to learn with. My 12-month old is doing great with the foogo and I am planning to augment my collection (have two, getting two more).

Most of us busy parents dont take time to read the directions anymore. We just assume all sippy cups will work the same.

Do not put it in the dishwasher, even top shelf. For some reason the parts are just not the same after. I have 4 cups and NONE of them have ever leaked. I really like them.

My only issue, my son likes to throw things and these are pretty heavy. Not good getting hit in the head with a steel sippy cup...

Naturepedic Organic Cotton Changing Pad Cover

Naturepedic Organic Cotton Changing Pad CoverI was on the hunt for an extra cover to fit the LA Baby 32" organic cocoon changing pad that I bought from Costco.com (which I felt was better value for money than the Naturepedic changing pad, and I felt better value for money). This one fits great it's not super snug (there's a little extra material), but because there's elastic all around the edges it's fine. The material is very soft and thick feels high quality. And it's nice to know that it's organic, given how many hours my baby has spent on this.

EDIT: After 10 months, this item has held up great. Washes well and still looks new, as compared to other changing pad covers I bought for half the price that are now pilling etc. Initially I thought it was a little pricey and not particularly good value for money, but I have since amended my review to five stars as I think it's worth the extra cost.

I'm just placing my order for another one of these awesome organic covers. They're just so much nicer than the other standard covers we have in rotation.

It really is contoured, so it fits the Naturepedic organic changing pad much better than its cheaper cousins. It's also much thicker than your average cover (although still quite soft) and has held up really well through multiple washes and 'oops' incidents -in fact, it still feels new although our twins have put it through heavy use these past few months. Yes it's expensive but well worth it if you have the NP changing pad.

i received both the Naturepedic Changing Pad and two Changing Pad Covers from my registry. the covers are nice but it's impossible to keep them clean for any reasonable length of time (especially with a newborn who is constantly needing changed). other than being a little cozier than the bare changing pad, there really aren't any other benefits to outweigh the frequent need to launder the absorbent covers.

the changing pad is awesome since it's waterproof and can easily be wiped down with soap and water or with a baby wipe when accidents occur.

We love this cover despite its high price tag and even debated buying two for when one is in the wash. Ultimately we bought a healthy supply of American Baby Company Organic Waterproof Quilted Lap and Burp Pad Covers that help keep this pad cleaner for a longer period of time. We use the lap pads to protect several other baby items, like his bouncer, so it was a natural fit for us.

The Naturepedic Organic Cotton Contoured Changing Pad itself does not have a soft cover and without this cover I assume the waterproof layer of the pad is rather cold and uncomfortable for a baby's tushy.

Want Naturepedic Organic Cotton Changing Pad Cover Discount?

It's great as a cover for the changing pad soft, warm, organic. I just don't think we needed it. We only used it for the first two months. I think what did it was the fact that if it gets poop or pee on it, ya gotta wash it, whereas the pad itself is waterproof and easily washable in 5 minutes. After two or three of those episodes we just stopped putting it back on.
