Elegant Baby Colorful Feeding Set

Elegant Baby Colorful Feeding Set Divided Baby Bowl with sunction cup silicone heat resistant spoon - Pink/GreenI purchased this set when my son was just begining solids at 6 months. He is now almost 9 months and I just ordered 3 more sets to insure we always have one on hand. My son has always insisted on holding the spoon himself, and with other plastic and metal spoons I worried he would hurt himself. The spoon in this set it a soft flexible rubber so I just let my son hold it and play with it while I feed him with a more traditional baby spoon, this way I avoid the tug of war tantrums. The bowl suctions well to his highchair tray and is easily removed by gently pulling at the bottom of the suction cup to allow air to get in there. This may not be the set for everyone, but for us it has been wonderful!

This is my favorite feeding set for my 8-month-old daughter. She absolutely LOVES the spoon (because it is very soft and bendable) and I love the bowl (because it has a suction cup that keeps her from flinging it off the table). I'm thinking of buying a second set.

I have bought several different baby feeding products and so far this is our favorite (and my daughter's favorite too!). It stays on the table for the most part. Occasionally my daughter would take it off but it's still the best among all other products.

The color is nice but not stick on the tray. My 12 months old son is easy to pick up the bowl. The spoon can be only dry by the wet cloth not paper towel; otherwise, the paper towel dust stick on the spoon. Not recommended!

The bowl itself is adorable but the suction part rarely works. I've tried it on several flat and clean surfaces and doesn't work the best.

The First Years Quick Serve Bottle Warmer

The First Years Babypro Quick Serve Bottle Warmer, Colors May VaryHeating breastmilk...who knew it would be such a science! The microwave will cause loss of nutrients and hot spots, and a pan of hot water will take an agonizingly long time when accompanied by a hungry, crying baby. Enter the Quick Serve Bottle Warmer, what I thought would be the most convenient method. It is...and well, it isn't.

Yes, this warmer is convenient, as it can heat bottles in under the five minutes it advertises, especially if you are using disposable bags or drop-in liners. However, it can get these bags extremely hot, so you need to stand by the warmer and test the bottle periodically. Regular plastic bottles tend to take longer and don't heat up as well. The performance of the warmer is not consistent. It works well sometimes, but usually only if you pay close attention to it, testing the bottle as it warms. Goldilocks would lose her patience with this one, as it is hardly ever "just right".

Here's how it works: You fill the included blue vial to the first line for smaller bottles (4 oz.), the top line for bigger bottles (8 oz.). You dump the water (which is a tiny amount) directly into the chamber where the bottle will sit. Place the bottle in and press the button on the front. In about 30 seconds steam begins to form and in about two minutes (when the nearly all the water has been turned to steam) the unit automatically shuts off. This does not mean, however, that the bottle is done. It may need to sit there longer if you have more liquid or a larger bottle. And, with drop-ins, it may need to be removed from the warmer sooner.

Some problems with the warmer include:

The blue filling vial. It is difficult to see the fill lines on it, especially at night. A clear fill cup with printed lines would be visually better. Moreover, the amount they suggest for smaller vs. bigger bottles doesn't necessarily fit your own bottles. You need to test it out and see what amount of water works best for you. And there's such a small amount of water that you're using that it is difficult to use the same exact amount each time.

Smaller bottles. Steam quickly rises around smaller/thinner bottles, making them too hot to pick up and swirl to mix or to test the heat of the bottle.

Wait 10 minutes to try again. The instructions state that the unit needs 10 minutes to cool down if you need to use it again. Well, I have gotten it to work again more quickly than that (sometimes immediately), although, I don't know if this is damaging the product in the long run. This is why it's better to put MORE water than you need into the unit and test the bottle as it warms. This way you're not stuck waiting for the unit to work again to heat up a cool bottle.

These caveats aside, this is a nice accessory for your nursery, especially for late-night feedings. No drowsy trips to the kitchen. Keep a cooler next to it with your bottle and you never need to stumble to a downstairs kitchen.

The bottom line: if you realize that heating bottles is not an exact science and that every bottle needs to be tested and adjusted, then you will do well with this warmer. If you think there is a magic alarm that will go off when the bottle hits the exact perfect temperature, well, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn for ya...

I love this product so much that I bought another one for my mom's house. I use it to heat up my 4oz medela and healthflow bottles and tried the Avents bottles. Yes the milk does get hot if you leave it til the warmer shuts off. But I usually check the bottle 1/2 way through the time (est. 3-4min), shake the bottle and the milk is PERFECT!!!!! Therefore it takes a total of 3-4 minutes for you to have a warm bottle, much quicker than putting it in boiling water. 2 other good things about this warmer are: 1)it has the auto shut-off capability unlike other warmers, where you have to unplug the unit and 2)it is small and doesn't take up too much space on your countertop.

Buy The First Years Quick Serve Bottle Warmer Now

It's a convenient product for those finicky babies who likes their food warm. On the plus side, it's smaller than most warmers so it doesn't take up much space. It has a measured water cup on the side to indicate how much water is necessary for steaming. It fits all bottles including the Avent (4 and 9oz.) with a detachable ring on top for even heating. A convenient lighted button turns off when all the water has evaporated from the steamer indicating the bottle is ready.

The only problem I have with it is it initially requires a few attempts,by adding or removing water, to get the temperature just right for the amount of formula used as it tends to overheat or underheat.

I wasn't originally planning on using a bottle warmer...didn't think it was needed. I was wrong! We were heating up tap water in a cup and placing the bottle in the cup to warm up...that took WAY TOO LONG! I purchased this warmer because of it's size and the other online reviews I had read. All you do is plug it in, fill the measuring cup to the desired level(you might have to do some trial and error here to get the right water amount) pour the water in and press the start button. The great thing is it will automatically shut off when the heating process is finished. I use Gerber bottles and it works well! It works with ANY bottles though. It's soooo easy to use!

This is a great warmer. I use the Playtex Disposable Bottles and it works wonders. There are not that many warmers that you can use for Disposable Bottles and this is so perfect. You can use any kind of bottle or baby food jar. The only difficult thing at first is that you have to try and find out the perfect amount of water to add for the amount that you are heating. I guess it's just one setback for being so versatile and accomodating any type of bottle. We love it. It's so small that you can leave it on the countertop and can even take it on outings, it has a convenient measuring cup, it automatically shuts off when it is done, and it is so quick in heating. This is a great product. Don't wait to buy it like I did.

Earth's Best Organic, 2.5 Ounce Jars (Pack of 12)

Earth's Best Organic 1st Carrots, 2.5 Ounce JarsThese look, smell, and taste vile. I try each food first before I give it to my baby and have been very happy with all of the Earth's Best varieties we've tried so far. The bananas however are quite disgusting. It could be the citric acid used, but it smells and tastes like it is spoiled. I have been feeding fresh banana up to this point, but bought a 12-jar variety pack of fruit which included banana, so I decided to try it today. So much for saving money by purchasing the variety pack. I will be throwing away all four jars of the banana. I will not feed anything to my baby that I wouldn't eat myself. Like one of the other reviewers said: do not stock up on this before you try one jar first. It's just nasty. I wouldn't give it any stars if that was an option here.

Update: I still won't buy these bananas again, but I wanted to say that I contacted Earth's Best to complain. They ended up sending me coupons for a dozen free jars of baby food. So, I just wanted to add that I really am happy with the company. Just not this particular product.

This is the first solid food my daughter (4 months 3 weeks) went wild for! She loved the taste, but previous reviewers are right about this not tasting like an actual banana. I'm just excited about finally finding a first food she loves!

My baby loves that Earth's Best Carrots. And everything else by them. Their food is of exceptional quality. I know--because before it goes in my baby's mouth, I try it first. I hate peas, but the E.B. First Peas are absolutely sensational. These carrots cannot be beat. I have compared Earth's Best baby food to Gerbers and Gerbers Organic, and there is simply no comarison. The Gerbers food--especially the green vegetables--are simply bland and a bit bitter. I cannot tell you how wonderful (or maybe I'm trying to now!) the E.B. 1st stage baby foods are. So good, in fact, that I've already stocked up on the variety packs of 2nd stage foods (also conveniently available on Amazon.com for a great price plus the free shipping). If you love your baby--and I know you do--and you want him to know just how delicious fruits and vegetables can be, BUY THIS STUFF.

Sumo Snack Stack

Sumo Snack StackAbsolutely love this snack container! Unlike so many of the other stackable snack containers on the market, these containers hold a whole cup in each compartment, which means I'm able to pack enough snacks to last for a day out and about with my toddler. The other snack containers that were also designed to hold formula as well as snacks didn't really have enough room for a realistic sized portion of my daughter's favorite snacks like Pirate's Booty and cheese puffs. Love that I can take all 3 containers or just one depending on how long we're going to be out. Since it stacks vertically, I doesn't take up a ton of room in the diaper bag and I no longer end up with a bunch of crushed up snacks in ziploc bags.

I love this container! It holds A LOT more than necessary for my 10 month old, but the space will be great the older he gets. Using all three containers take up a good bit of real estate in my bag, so I usually just use two...which is more than enough for a day worth of snacks. The plastic is thick and can take a good beating and regular trips through the dishwasher. So glad I bought this instead of the formula dispensers that double as snack containers.

Buy Sumo Snack Stack Now

I ordered this container as a stocking stuffer for my 1 year old and unfortunately I left it on the airplane the very first time we used it, but not before getting a chance to see how great it is! To give an idea of how much these hold, I was able to pack a bag and a half of yogurt melts in one compartment and about 1/2 a canister of the Gerber cheetos things in another. It holds enough that both my 15 month old and 4 1/2 year old could use it. The fact that I could just unscrew a bowl and hand it to them was great too. I loved it so much I just ordered 2 more (one for us and one as a gift)! :-)

I guess I should add that I love it because my intention is to use it with dry snacks. If you need it for wet food items like baby food (kind of big or that, I think) or applesauce......this might not be the container for you. Not sure if it's intended for that, though I'm sure it would stay leak free. Butif you put the wet stuff in any section other than the top you're going to have food on the bottom of another bowl. Hopefully that's pretty clear just by looking at it. :-)

We love this snack container. Each compartment holds 1 cup of food. Love that we can take just one section, or 2 or 3, depending on our needs. The container fits well in the diaper bag, or you can use the handle on the cover to strap it on to the outside of the diaper bag (nice when taking all 3 and a million toys). Bonus: our son thinks it is the best toy. =)

Only con, sometimes I have difficulty getting the cover to thread on correctly...but it could be the sleep deprivation.

Organic Teething Biscuits Barley (Case of 12) 4.60 Ounces

Organic Teething Biscuits Barley 4.60 OuncesThe teething biscuits aren't made the way they were a few years ago. They seem to fall apart too quickly. I feel like I'm always digging chunks out of my daughters mouth. Will not be purchasing again.

My grandchildren love these biscuits. I tasted them and they really taste good to me. They are not very sweet. Good. I want them to learn to taste the food without the extra sweetness that some other companies put in their products. Love that the ingredients are good for you. I suggest that you give young teethers small pieces at first so that they can get used to chewing and using their tongue. Stay with children so that you are aware of how they handle any foods they have in their mouths. That is so that you can be able to react instantly if they choke on the biscuit pieces or any other food stuff. Give them small pieces so that they eat that and not cram their mouth trying to eat it all at once. Good product. Amazon delivered it promptly and packed it very well.

Avent Via Breast Milk Storage Kit 1 kit

Avent Via Breast Milk Storage Kit 1 kitThese VIA containers are great for milk storage. Easy to clean and easy to stack. However, I have had issues with using them with the blue adapter top for feeding from it. No matter how firm or hard I screw on the adapter, when the entire unit is assembled, sometimes the bottom cup will just unscrew and fall off. After having one too many bottles of pumped milk fall on the floor or come apart on the counter, etc. I refuse to use these for feeding from.

I do use these with the Avent ISIS for pumping and then immediate storage. However, your better off transferring the milk to a regular hard plastic Avent bottle to do feeding from, don't use these for feedings.

I like the concept that you can pump right into them and feed out of them as well. The problem is that the blue lids are a pain in the butt to get off but if you don't screw them on tight enough then they will leak. I bought two boxes of them and I am kind of disappointed because I have really ended up not liking to use them because they are two hard to get the lids off and at 2am you don't want to fight with the lids and then spilling it all over the place.

Buy Avent Via Breast Milk Storage Kit 1 kit Now

I bought these to store my milk in while I pumped at work. I liked that they hold about 6 oz, and I use Avent bottles, and thought it'd be good quality. I was VERY disappointed because once you start using them, the lids stop working properlythey become extremely hard to close because they don't seem to screw on correctly. And once you think it's screwed in well, you push down on the lid and it's still loose. Many times when I get home, I find that milk has spilled out of the bottles while I was driving!! And another problem is that when milk gets in the grooves of the lid, it makes it really hard to open. And when you put it in the refrigerator, and milk gets cold, it's almost like it becomes glue in the grooves. So you're fighting to open the lid, just to have it spill when you finally open it because you're using so much force. Sure, it's nice that the bottles stack, and it's easy to store the lids together, but at the end of the day, do not use this to store milk. I'm a working mom and EVERY drop of milk I pump is priceless. Unfortunately Avent didn't do a good job in designing this for it's primary purpose to save and store milk. Oh, I also went to the Avent website and saw in their Q&A section a question about the lid/leakage problem. The answer in the website was that they didn't recommend using these more than FOUR times because the cups/lids become warped and could lead to leakage. Really? Four times? I mean, did they really expect me to buy a new package each week?

Read Best Reviews of Avent Via Breast Milk Storage Kit 1 kit Here

Overall, I'm pretty happy with these. Sometimes the lids don't quite want to go on right, and even though they're supposed to hold 6 oz., I try not to put in more than 5.5. It's also not entirely clear what you're supposed to use to write on them. I tried pencil, but it didn't really work. Ink did want to wash off. Sharpies work okay for the most part, but they don't wash off entirely either. Something scratchy helps, but not all the time. I'm not sure if it depends on the type of Sharpie. Oil helps so, too.

This product does what is supposed to do and fits inside the pump so you can pump and store easily. Sometimes the lids can be hard to open but besides that it is a good product. My son (1 year old) also likes to play with them so it can be a toy once you are done with them.

Bambu Natural Bamboo Kids Utensils, 5.25" Spork - Single Spork

Bambu Natural Bamboo Kids Utensils, 5.25' Spork - Single SporkI now own about 6-7 of these. Originally I had bought two and they've worked out so very well that I bought a bunch so that I'd have them on the ready all the time.

These are about 5-6 inches long and are just the right size for a kid's lunch. I pop mine in the dishwasher and they hold up beautifully. My daughter likes them because they're lightweight, offer both a spoon and fork, and because they're not plastic.

They may be a bit pricey, but for us they've been worth every penny and are pretty used every weekday in my daughter's school lunch.

I opened the package to discover only one spork, meaning, I paid $9+ for only one spork...pretty disappointing!

I didn't use it yet but it seems like it could be a nice one, though expensive!

I really love the bamboo spoon, it's great for scraping food off your baby's face instead of just pushing it around like the rubber/plastic forks do. The fork has very blunt edges and doesn't really work well as a fork, but I found that it's great for mashing bananas and avocados.

Naturepedic Organic Cotton Contoured Changing Pad

Naturepedic Organic Cotton Contoured Changing PadIt's organic, it's truly durable and well made in the USAnot China!

It's easy to clean and it fits perfect on the changing table.

It's simply the best changing mattress on the market.

Yes, it is expensive but worth the money instead of having to

replace the cheap ones made with toxic chemicals every

couple of months (or weeks)read the reviews on any other ones, especially

the ones that seem like a bargain at under $50 bucks...

this is worth the money especially when it can be used for changing

multiple siblings, multiple times a day on a daily basis and you

don't see any signs of wear and tear. I used the one that came

with the changing table for 1 week and it had a tear in the center

of it and we even had a cover on the darn thing! You get what you pay for and

this company is sound.

This changing pad is very sturdy and appears to be comfortable for our baby. The contour is perfect in that it keeps him in, but is not too deep. Next to being in our arms, the changing table (with this changing pad) is our baby's favorite place to be. We have enjoyed hours of what we call "kick kick time on the table." I don't have another changing pad to compare it to, but I can say that this one is great and I expect it will last until we are out of the diaper phase! I also greatly appreciate that it is not toxic. It definitely feels natural, never had a chemical smell, etc.

Buy Naturepedic Organic Cotton Contoured Changing Pad Now

after countless hours of research to ensure my baby's nursery was as non-toxic as possible, i placed the Naturepedic Organic Cotton Changing Pad on my registry. i've been using the changing pad for 7 weeks and it does all i need it to do gives baby a comfortable place to lie while i change him. in addition to the changing pad, i purchased two changing pad covers from the same company (two for when one was in the wash). do NOT waste yours or anyone else's money. this changing pad is waterproof and slick so that if it gets dirty, you can simply wipe it down with soap and water or baby wipe. the changing pad covers are soft absorbent cotton so when they get dirty they're dirty and need laundered.

the reviewer that gave the changing pad 1 star has no common sense. i would never rely on the changing pad's belt or table snaps to secure my child. you NEVER, EVER take a steady, firm hand off the baby while s/he is on a high surface (such as a changing station) without safety rails (such as a crib) and for that reason, i've never utilized those features.

I was skeptical at first... I spent $300 on an organic mattress (made locally out of organic cotton and eco wool) and it's wonderful but do I really need to have an organic changing mat?

I decided to go ahead and get it and I'm so glad I have. There's so many things in baby world that you cannot buy organic car seat, stroller, bouncer, swing, play gym, high chair, etc... I figured I should do my baby a favor and get what I *can* organic.

We've been using this changing mat for five months, now, and I'm so pleased with it! It's very well constructed and looks brand new, still. It's cooshy and my baby is always very happy on it. He's managed to pee directly on it several times and it always wipes right off with no problems.

I almost spent another outrageous amount of money on some fitted organic cotton covers but we've just been using towels. We had a handful of older towels that have cycled through the 'master bath to guest bath to downstairs bath to sitting in the bottom of the linen closet' life cycle, so we just fold those in half and put them over the mat and it's good to go. We also have a handful of Snoozy Organic Flannel Cotton Waterproof Multi Use Pad 2 Pack that get tossed on there, too. Those work great if you feel like spending the money otherwise the towels work just fine!

Want Naturepedic Organic Cotton Contoured Changing Pad Discount?

This changing pad is great, but in hindsight I don't think I would spend $100 on a changing pad again.

Details: Sturdy, yet soft. Water-proof. Organic. Large enough to fit on the table we're using for a changing table and yet still have room for diapers etc. Neutral color. We also bought the $30 Naturepedic Organic Changing Cover.

I'm fairly frugal in my greenness so I'll use this Pad happily and put it away for the next little one. But, if I had to do it all over again, I would've purchased a Pad for half as much, and then put an organic cotton cover on it. Now that I see it in comparison to less-expensive, non-green Pads, I'm not sure I really see that much difference. And how much time is baby going to be on the Pad? It's not a crib mattress. Did we really need a $100 organic Pad to change diapers on? My thoughts...probably not.

Vulli Set - Sophie The Giraffe Vanilla Teething Ring + Gnon (yellow) Soft Toy

Vulli Set - Sophie The Giraffe Vanilla Teething Ring + Gnon Soft ToyWe have almost all the Vulli products and love it, this is no exception. Gnon is SUPER soft and responsive in squeaks. We have dogs so are used to the noise but I can see how this may get annoying :) However my LO loves that it squeaks whenever she squeezes it and is absolutely absorbed with the task for minutes!! Be real careful how you wash and clean it though, we have all three and 2 have lost their squeaking ability :( Not sure if it's from water getting inside, but doesn't make noise anymore even when dried...thus the minus 1 star

~BACKGROUND~

I purchased this set for my 3 month old son.

~PROS~

SOPHIE THE GIRAFFE

Made of 100% Natural Rubber (phthalates Free) and food paint.

Has two loop handles that makes it easy to hold.

Has a nice, light vanilla scent.

Is thin and flat which is easier to chew on.

Easy to clean.

GNON SOFT TOY

Decorated with non-toxic, food-grade paints, phthalate-free with no PVC

Very soft and pliable.

Loop on head works nicely as a handle for holding or to attach with a strap to the stroller/carseat.

Easy for my son to hug and gnaw on.

Easy to clean.

Great alternative to harder teething toys.

~CONS~

Sophie's vanilla scent quickly disappeared.

Gnon can get annoying with the squeaking.

~TIPS~

Do NOT wash Gnon under running water. Follow the directions and WIPE clean to avoid getting water inside.

As with anything your baby puts in his/her mouth, use non-toxic products like: Babyganics Toy Cleaner 17 oz

~CONCLUSION~

I have been very impressed with the Vulli line of toys. Knowing that they are not harmful for my son to chew on is a huge benefit.

My baby likes them very much, especially Gnon which makes funny sound and is way softer than Sophie. Sophie Teething ring is a bit hard for my six-month-old, and may be usful after he has first two tooth.

Cons: It take more than half month to mail to Canada, I don't know which step is wrong.

Want Vulli Set - Sophie The Giraffe Vanilla Teething Ring + Gnon (yellow) Soft Toy Discount?

My six month old grand daughter likes her Sophie giraffe and therefore I ordered the teething set. While she like the Sophie teething ring, it is the Gnon that she really loves. It is made of a very soft rubbery material that is light and lightly smells of vanilla. The ring on the Gnon's head allows her to hold the squeeky toy easily and she shews on it, squeezes it to hear the funny sound, bashes it around, even on her own head but because it is so light it does not hurt her. This has now been her favorite toy for the last 4 weeks.

The Gnon is easy to clean and very light, so easy to take it with us in the diaper bag or stroller.

Great toy for babies and inexpensive.

Munchkin Baby Food Grinder

Munchkin Baby Food Grinder, Light BlueI purchased this item and then came home and read the reviews. I almost returned it, and then decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. Most of the other reviewers complained that it leaked. It does, but I just sit it in the sink to grind. Then there were complaints of the force you have to use to grind the food. I don't think that's the case at all. I think the key is the grinding motion. You have to push down on the green plastic part while grinding with your other hand. If it becomes hard to push, you simply keep grinding until it becomes easier to push. I believe most people are trying to grind it too fast. Also, I believe some of the complaints are because people aren't using food that has already been cooked. If you want to grind up a food such as squash, it is common sense, I think, that the food be cooked until soft. I just ground up cooked corn that was cut off the cob, and it ground up great.

Also, I think the thing to keep in mind with this product is price. It is only $10!

I feel that for under $10, you are getting a great product that does what it is supposed to do: grind up cooked foods in quantities suitable for feeding to a baby.

I really really like this product. The poor reviews seem to be from people who are not using it correctly and quite possibly did not read the directions to clear up their issues. I purchased this product 2nd hand, so it was well-used before me and by me as well.

#1 I have never seen metal shavings in our food nor have I had trouble with rust. I have hand washed it as well as put it in the dishwasher.

#2 The grinder plate/handle portion is EASY to remove. There is a knob at the top (blue in the picture) that you can tighten to prevent the handle from rotating. Once this is locked, it is quite easy to twist the grinder plate/handle piece out of the green plastic portion. This knob will also allow the handle to rotate faster or slower as needed, perhaps solving the problem that others mentioned about their wrists being sore from using this product. Also a problem that I have never had.

#3 I haven't ever had the base leak, there is a rubber seal that goes all around the "plunger" part that keeps liquid from leaking out.

#4 I have never had it "fall apart" while grinding. I suspect that this could happen if you do not have the grinder plate portion fully tightened into the green plastic base. Again, this could be achieved by fully tightening the knob at the top of the grinder plate/handle portion before trying to attach it to the base.

#5 This is for making baby food, not grinding hard foods. The food needs to be cooked until soft, except for some fruits which are already soft, before being run through the grinder.

#6 Yep, it is small-ish, makes ~1 portion at a time, which is perfect for early solids eaters and when you want to share table foods versus preparing large batches of food at once.

Overall, I love this grinder. I would definitely recommend it, we use it almost daily and couldn't be happier with the performance, which is why I just typed the longest review EVER!!! LOL

This grinder is difficult to use. First, you need to assemble it and then load in the food to be ground, then put the grinding part on top and twist it to secure it on the chute. If your food is too tough, the grinder doesn't do anything, and any force you might use to press down on the grinder may result in the grate popping off and the food flying everywhere. My husband and I tried to use it on meat, which required one of us to push down, and the other to turn the grinder. Once you've done that, then the instructions say to simply remove the grinding plate (grate) and the handle. The grinding plate is impossible to remove as the force of turning and pressing down on it makes it screwed in so tight, you can't remove the grate unless you use an icepick or the tine of a metal fork to loosen it. The handle to turn the grinder is very small and hard to use. Your hand gets really tired and sore.

We discovered that putting the metal blade on upside down (with the flat part not against the grate) did a better job of moving the food upwards to the grate.

Also, if your food is overly moist or wet, the grinder leaks at the bottom.

I must also mention that there are a lot of parts to wash and some are small, they sometimes get lost in the sink or drying rack.

I believe Kidco has a manual grinder too, that has a bigger handle. We haven't tried it since we gave up on manual grinders. I also tried the Bella Cucina (like the Magic Bullet), which was the worst thing ever as plastic shavings from the lid went into the food from the edge of the cup. Each time you screw on the lid, the sharp lip of the cup would create little shavings from the lid (which is colored plastic) that sometimes fell into the ground up food.

I ended up getting a Cuisinart SmartStick with the chopper bowl accessory, and that worked fine. I also have the Kitchenaid stand mixer and had the food grinder attachment as a gift. We used that it grind mass quantities of meat that we froze so that we would have meat on hand. We would grind one whole rotisserie chicken (deboned) twice, and then package the loosely ground chicken in ziploc bags and freeze them. Then we would simply take one bag out and leave it in the fridge to thaw so she would have some meat to mix with soft cooked veggies. Any parent knows how difficult it is to ensure your baby gets the right amount of protein each day.

Awesome little contraption! I'm a stickler for homemade baby food--I've never bought a jar (though I used baby food pouches on a very long airplane trip once). This little thing makes it so easy! And it's really easy to clean (with a brush). We use it 4 times a day to feed our 11-month-old, whose meals typically comprise a finger food appetizer, ground up entrees, and dessert of chopped up and pureed fruits. On a typical day, breakfast is a handful of blueberries, three or four blackberries, two strawberries, and 1/2 a banana milled together with three tablespoons of oatmeal cereal. It takes 5 minutes and the texture beats hand blending out of the water. Lunch and dinner entrees would be a seasonal veggies, protein, and pasta, rice, or quinoa, and other grains. Examples are roasted sweet potato milled up with some garlic, cumin, and millet or barley, or boiled milled peas and quinoa, or star pasta (ground in the mill) and homemade pureed pasta sauce. The mill does an awesome job with chicken, too--and I've tried it with pork sausage and lamb. Works beautifully. (Whoever said the food needs to be cooked soft is not using it properly. You've got to put some pressure on it, but churn slowly. Most everything we grind is raw) Desserts are whatever's fresh and in season : Mangoes, papaya, kiwi, peaches, nectarines, berries, pears, plums are fruits that stand up well to milling. (Mine doesn't leak--maybe white little collar hasn't been replaced properly? I can see how that can be annoying, though.)This, we pair with cut up grapes, and berries, or little apple pieces. I particularly love the Munchkin mill on trips--we just spent a month in Africa, and getting our baby's breakfast, dinner, and lunch in restaurants was 100 easier and better than giving him jarred stuff. All we really needed to take were the baby cereals: rice, oatmeal, millet and quinoa flakes. Using it so often and having traveled with it, it still works well--which is a super-bonus because it was less than $10. Love this thing!

The small parts are too difficult to use and clean, and the grinder only works if the food is **very soft** (already soft enough to feed in small bites to our 6-9 month old) or if you push down on the top cylinder *very hard*. I could not make it work. Seems like the force I had to put on it just pushed the food through the grate--I couldn't tell that rotating the grinder did anything useful. One of the wand-style food blenders which comes with a mini chopper did the trick for us.

Naturepedic Organic Cotton Changing Pad Cover

Naturepedic Organic Cotton Changing Pad CoverI was on the hunt for an extra cover to fit the LA Baby 32" organic cocoon changing pad that I bought from Costco.com (which I felt was better value for money than the Naturepedic changing pad, and I felt better value for money). This one fits great it's not super snug (there's a little extra material), but because there's elastic all around the edges it's fine. The material is very soft and thick feels high quality. And it's nice to know that it's organic, given how many hours my baby has spent on this.

EDIT: After 10 months, this item has held up great. Washes well and still looks new, as compared to other changing pad covers I bought for half the price that are now pilling etc. Initially I thought it was a little pricey and not particularly good value for money, but I have since amended my review to five stars as I think it's worth the extra cost.

I'm just placing my order for another one of these awesome organic covers. They're just so much nicer than the other standard covers we have in rotation.

It really is contoured, so it fits the Naturepedic organic changing pad much better than its cheaper cousins. It's also much thicker than your average cover (although still quite soft) and has held up really well through multiple washes and 'oops' incidents -in fact, it still feels new although our twins have put it through heavy use these past few months. Yes it's expensive but well worth it if you have the NP changing pad.

i received both the Naturepedic Changing Pad and two Changing Pad Covers from my registry. the covers are nice but it's impossible to keep them clean for any reasonable length of time (especially with a newborn who is constantly needing changed). other than being a little cozier than the bare changing pad, there really aren't any other benefits to outweigh the frequent need to launder the absorbent covers.

the changing pad is awesome since it's waterproof and can easily be wiped down with soap and water or with a baby wipe when accidents occur.

We love this cover despite its high price tag and even debated buying two for when one is in the wash. Ultimately we bought a healthy supply of American Baby Company Organic Waterproof Quilted Lap and Burp Pad Covers that help keep this pad cleaner for a longer period of time. We use the lap pads to protect several other baby items, like his bouncer, so it was a natural fit for us.

The Naturepedic Organic Cotton Contoured Changing Pad itself does not have a soft cover and without this cover I assume the waterproof layer of the pad is rather cold and uncomfortable for a baby's tushy.

It's great as a cover for the changing pad soft, warm, organic. I just don't think we needed it. We only used it for the first two months. I think what did it was the fact that if it gets poop or pee on it, ya gotta wash it, whereas the pad itself is waterproof and easily washable in 5 minutes. After two or three of those episodes we just stopped putting it back on.
