Rah, Rah, Radishes!

Rah, Rah, Radishes!Who knew vegetables could be so much fun? A picture book just about vegetables? I was skeptical, but the author won me over with her great rhyming and large colorful pictures of everything from carrots to swiss chard. The book has a great read aloud flow, and the reader is encouraged to "bounce for beets", and perhaps my favorite; "yum a yam". This book will bring a smile to the faces of any story time audience. The author doesn't forget to give a nod to the farmers who grow all of these gorgeous vegetables and also to the bees who help them along the way. Kids will see a lot of their favorites, plus a few they might not recognize(bok choy, Kohlrabi), all laid out at a farmers market.

The author provides a brief postscript to offer up the definition of a vegetable and to expand a bit on the benefits of healthy eating. This is a great choice for any child's personal collection, a classroom, or story time. It's exuberance and beautiful photographs make me echo the author's last double page spread: "Veggies Rock!"

As a veggie-hating, book-loving child, l think my attitude towards healthy eating would have drastically different had I read RAH RAH RADISHES! April Pulley Sayre's

catchy chant promoting the joys of vegetables is fun, educational and never preachy. Along with her light-hearted approach to the gifts of Mother Earth, Sayre's beautiful photography turn the produce section into a jewelry display of edible delights. RAH, RAH, RADISHES is a terrific antidote for all the "yummy"-but-not-so-good-for-you food that is so predominate in the U.S. I hope someone sends a copy of RADISHES to the First Gardener herself, First Lady Michelle Obama.

My 3-year old son just loves this book read aloud. He's memorized so much of it, he can just about recite the entire thing. It has become a centerpiece of our daily routines--for example, instead of just saying "Oh boy!", we now say, "Oh boy, bok choy! Brussels sprout!" Some of his other favorite phrases: "Bounce for beets!", "Grab that garlic, please your palate!" (that one really cracks me up), and of course, "Veggies ROCK!" I'm looking forward to either a paperback or board book edition that I can buy for his day care center. I wonder if there might some day be similar books that celebrate fruit or other foods?

My son absolutely loves this book. We originally got it from the library but when I took it back he kept asking for rah rah radishes. He too memorized most of the book and now it is fun to point out all the veggies at the farmers market. It is a very fun book and reads well.

My two-and-half year old daughter loves this book ever since her daycare teacher read it to them. She has every page memorized and loves reading it out loud to us and her stuffed animals. It's a great way for kids to get to know all the vegetables and foster a genuine love towards eating them.

Waterproof Twin Pad with Straps

Waterproof Twin Pad with Strapswhen i first received it, i couldn't believe that it was waterproof because you can't see the waterproof fabric which is inside. so i poured water on it to see if it penetrates, and the other side stayed dry! so yeah, it is waterproof. i like that it is without potentially harmful chemicals and is organic. besides, who wants that plasticky backing when you sleep??

This is of a great quality, comfortable, organic (which adds to the cost a bit), and washes and dries wonderfully in the machines. It passed the waterproof test in a few night time accidents and I can't compliment enough.

I absolutely love this matress pad. It is very well made and worth the cost to buy it organic! It is very soft without being cheap. I think this will hold up a very long time! It fit our twin matress leaving a little extra room around the edges which is perfect. It stays in place very well.

Munchkin Click Lock 4 Count Food Pouch Spoon Tips

Munchkin Click Lock 4 Count Food Pouch Spoon Tips, GreenWe LOVE these spoons! They are so convenient when feeding on the go or at home. The open/close feature is great for saving the food from waste when our baby girl gets distracted. We have used them on several different pouch brands, including Plum, Peter Rabbit, and Happy Tot.

Ive bought a few of these special spoons for pouches. The other ones I used to use required you to unscrew them and clean them off before sticking them back in their housing. Sometimes in a pinch you don't have time for that! Also, sometimes the baby is only done momentarily! These are perfect. You can leave them screwed into the pouch and then just put the plastic cap on top until they're ready to eat the rest!

It works well with the pouches. I think it would be best for the baby to use a spoon, like this, than to just be fed out of a pouch.

I really liked the idea of having a spoon with a cap and lock to close spoon. However when using store bought pouches the food got stuck in the canal and very difficult to get out even if you remove immediately. I purchased nourish baby food pouched which I really like, but the spoon is not compatible with these pouches.

I bought these and loved the concept having a lid! However, I have thrown two of the four away because they get babyfood STUCK inside them and despite multiple hand washes and dishwasher attempts, it did not come out. Therefore, I was grossed out and pitched them. :-( I think it's the turning heads on them that makes the food get stuck because I have not had any problems with any of my other spoons...

Green Eats 2 Pack Divided Plates

Green Eats 2 Pack Divided Plates, GreenDurable and pretty. I have recently become concerned about feeding my kids on the cheap Ikea plastic ware we have used in the past. It really bothered me and when I saw these dishes available at Target, I decided to start purchasing a couple of pieces each time I was there. We have now converted completely. I have four children and have assigned them each a color which they are always supposed to use. They have 2 of each piece and if it's dirty, they have to wash it. This has really cut down on the amount of cups they go through in a day and thus, the number of times I am running the dishwasher. Green in more ways than one!

These are cheaper at Target, especially the divided plates. However, I had to buy the green coloered cups and plates on amazon because they were never available at Target. Cost me a total of $6 more for one package of each. ($5 for the plate and $1 for the cups).

And truly, I don't think it's wise to microwave anything plastic, even if it claims that it's okay. Who knows what chemicals are released into the food?

This plate is larger than our previous toddler plate (the OXO Tot), and is perfect for moving up to larger portions. We hand wash these, which is super easy because absolutely nothing sticks to them. They don't even get stained by tomato sauce, which most plastic plates do. We like the divided plate for our 2-year-old because it helps her scoop food more easily than a regular plate. Highly recommend these.

I was worried these would be small from the other reviews, but they're actually the same size as my normal dinner plates. They're very bulky and definitely sturdy. We like them, they're great for my 5 year old.

love green toys and couldn't wait for the green eats to be featured on amazon. i have always loved divided plates, it keep food organized and portioned. i use it for the main dish and veggie/fruit sides.

the colors are great and i feel good serving food on safe plastic. i used the oxo tot feeding set when my son was first learning to feed himself. that has a non-skid bottom to prevent it from slipping. but now that my son is older these plates are perfect. he's well past the "throw the plate on the floor" fun!

i typically hand wash these, mainly because i use them at every meal and need them. but also because i just don't like to put any plastic in the dishwasher.

i have served many meals on here and nothing has stained the plastic. even spaghetti! i have been very, very pleased with these.

it's a must buy for toddlers and young kids.

The kids love them, they clean up great, they are environmentally friendly and foodsafe! I think that they are going to be the next big thing....every seems to be going Eco these days. And they come in cute colors, can't wait for new colors!!

Reusable Food Pouch (Pack of 4)

Reusable Food PouchOk, so I was deciding between these and the Little Green Pouches and totally bought these because they have adorable animals on them and I a big sucker for that. They aren't a bad product but I am sad to report that the Little Green Pouches are much better designed although totally boring looking. Here is why:

1. The Squooshi pouches have curves and the food gets stuck in them. So, you are going to have to try to clean puree out of the animal shoulder area. Bad times!

2. Not dishwasher safe. WHAT? If you have a baby and you also have a dishwasher, seriously don't buy stuff that does not go in the dishwasher. You do not have time for that BS anymore.

3. They fill at the bottom. This means that they don't have a nice resting base like the store bought ones and the Green Pouches. The base allowed my baby to feed himself the store bought ones but these I have to hold for him. Also, if you don't seal them well enough you end up squeezing puree all over the place.

4. Although they are supposed to be BPA free, they are made in China and the Green Pouches are (I think) made in America.

It's kind of like the Green Pouches people bought these, fixed all the problems and then created the Green Pouch. But didn't make them cute. I wonder how old this baby will get before I get over always picking the cute thing!

Just got these and so far they are pretty good. The seal is good, and my daughter loves the animals.

I like these because they are BPA free and because they save money. I did some quick calculations, and having bought 8 of the 4.5 oz size, I'll have to use them 44 times before they pay for themselves. After that, I'm saving around 80 to 90 cents each time, depending in what I put in them, and where you by the pre-made ones (like the Peter Rabbit ones, for instance). I also like them because my daughter will eat just about anything out of a pouch, and this opens up the possibilities as to what I can feed her that way.

The only two drawbacks are that these are a little difficult and messy to fill (they don't stay open unless you hold them open), and also the food obviously is not vacuum sealed and will have to be refrigerated. I couldn't, say, throw them into my diaper bag for a long trip to the zoo or whatever, and be confident that they're still okay to eat, whereas the pre-made ones would be fine. Still a great buy, though. Highly recommend.

Buy Reusable Food Pouch (Pack of 4) Now

The zipper seal on these is very difficult to clean. The "zip loc" seal is not fully adhered to the inside of the pouch which causes food to get behind it. Using a simple bottle brush as they recommend does not get these clean. I had to get 1 of my small Dr Brown's bottle cleaning brushes and meticulously brush inside this seal. Also, the sides of the "zip loc" seal hold food. I called the company and left a message to inquire if this was simply a defective set and I received no return call. It seems very dirty to continue to serve food from these. The idea is great, but the quality is not as great.

First off, I haven't tried the little green bags, but I will say filling from the bottom and washing in the curves is a little bit hard, so if you're between the two, I'd sway the other way. But these are so cute, so I picked these! haha

I love the concept. My almost 17 month old refused to eat veggies except blended. This keeps me from having to go back to spoon feeding. The storebought pouches are so expensive! And just like with jarred food, it isn't the same as home made. So, I pulled the baby bullet out of the cabinet and filled these little guys and my tot ate veggies willingly! That's a win in my book.

I will update if they tear or anything because they feel kind of flimsy, but we will see! Some things aren't as delicate as they look, so they may hold up! No leaks yet! Though I don't feel like I could turn them inside out without risking a tear, if that's how you planned to wash them.

I LOVE that they are freezer safe! I may get the little green bags later, to compare, so I can make big batches ahead of time and freeze, instead of blending every other day. We will see. But these guys are just as cute in person, and I have no regrets, really.

Update: The smaller size, the bird and lion, they are really difficult to fill! IF I were you, I'd go on Amazon and search for the 4pk that is four of the larger size, two each of a panda and walrus. The cost is about the same! The little ones are almost pointless. Squooshi 4 Count Reusable Food Pouch, Large Panda/Walrus, 4.5 Ounce

I stumbled upon these and they were just adorable! my daughter loves them and actually gets exited to eat! they are easy to use and clean and have held up well thus far. they shipped in great packaging very small and practical in a cute little pouch that I use to store them in! Revolution Foods Organic Mashups Fruit & Veggie Smoothie, Carroty Chop, 4-Count Mashups (Pack of 4)

Revolution Foods Organic Mashups Fruit & Veggie Smoothie, Carroty Chop, 4-Count MashupsI buy this brand consistently and have no problems. My two toddlers love every flavor I buy. I love it because I can let them eat two in a row without concern. The size and amount are just right.

If you can catch Mashups at a good price on S&S it tends to be a better deal and less hassle then say, buying them at a Babies R US or grocery store that happens to carry them. It's hard to get tots and kids to eat veggies sometimes, and what with squeeze packs being such a rage lately this Mashups flavor falls into a must have at our house. My 19 month old will eat this, it's portable, it a smoothie so babies and teething tots can handle it. USDA organic.

My veggie picky son claps when he sees the pouch. We throw these in the diaper bags when we are out and about so he gets a good-for-him snack. I don't give my son anything I wouldn't eat so I tried a taste of this. The first thing I noticed was that it tastes like apples. Whatever gets my picky boy to eat veggies is fine by me.

This is the perfect size for a toddler to have for a snack or as part of a meal. My son is always on the go and these are great portable snacks. He can carry it around and feed it to himself with very little mess. It's also nice to keep in the car or diaper bag since they have a long shelf life and don't have to be refrigerated. I like that they have 1g of fiber and are low in sugar. They are mostly apple puree (that is the first ingredient), with a few other fruits and veggies mixed in. I think having more veggies and less apple would have earned it 5 stars for me. These would be great for an older baby as well (9-12 months range).

Plum Organics Bistro Bowls, Beef, Barley and Wild Mushroom, 6 Ounce

Plum Organics Bistro Bowls, Beef, Barley and Wild Mushroom, 6 OunceMy 20 month old hasn't been eating more than a few bites of food at a time the last month or so. These are a expensive but I grabbed one at the store just to give it a shot. He dove right in and licked the bowl clean! literally picked every last piece of it out, and then went after any bits that fell on his tray! I'll be buying more very soon :-) It was a good amount in the bowl too. I though for sure it would make two meals for him.

Mimijumi Baby Bottle

Mimijumi 8 Ounce Baby Bottle, Very HungryI LOVE THIS BOTTLE. My daughter refused every bottle Babies R Us had to offer. But this bottle did the trick. Not only did she love it but my family got a smile out of it too. Sometimes when she used it in public it got double takes and I was embarassed at first but then I got over it and people did too. As long as the bottle did not have a drop of formula in it she would never push it away. If you have a breastfed baby who refuses bottles and are desperate for a bottle it is worth a try. I only bought one to test but I was back for more.

I'm going back to work and have been worried about my son, who has been EBF for the last 4 months, taking a bottle. He is being reintroduced to it and refused the Tommee Tippee line that he had previously used as well as the Medela (he never liked those). I got this praying that it would be a success and it has been! I've used it four times in the two days that I've had it and he's loved it!

Things I like:

1. more realistic in the shape than other bottles. I'm still nursing since I'm only working part-time, and I don't want him to get confused.

2. I've noticed that there is very little air intake as it's difficult to get any burps afterwards (my son is an easy baby to burp, I basically just have to sit him upright).

3. Not that this matters, but the milk carton packaging was cute.

4. Ease of construction. There's the bottle, the one piece nipple cap (nice to not have to worry about putting the nipple in the ring and making sure the seal is just right.), the rubber bottom, and the bottle cap if you're travelling. Basically you just have to take the top off, then put back on after you fill it.

5. I just use the slowest flow since I don't want my son getting too lax in effort put forth nursing. This truly seems like a slow flow nipple and when tipped I'm not needing to rush to put it in his mouth to avoid getting milk everywhere.

Things that could be improved:

1. Sometimes my son makes those loud sucking noises, but only some of the time. I have to fight with him because he wants to hit the bottle and as a result it moves around a lot (he's an active nurser as well so this isn't a reaction to the bottle; it's just that the breast isn't as mobile as the bottle!).

2. I've seen other reviewers say that they would like not only a realistic shape, but color as well. Not that this is the case with me, but considering how my son was eyeing up the bottle as I set it on the counter to prep as if to say "Hey that looks familiar," I could see how if you're a darker skinned mama and you give this bottle to your baby, it might confuse him even more! It wouldn't hurt to have a variety if you're going the realistic route.

Things I've read that I haven't had a problem with:

1. Cap securityseems pretty stable to me and I haven't had any issues with it falling off.

2. Angle of the bottle. My son has always nursed and taken a bottle lying pretty flat, so the bottle isn't really being tipped at the end, the angle works for us. I don't have any problem getting all of the milk taken.

3. Inverted oz/ml markings. Since the bottle is at an angle, and every caregiver holds bottles differently, I don't really see how inverted markings will help you or really why they are necessary at all. I give my son as much as is pumped from one breast (he usually only takes one at a time), and feed him until he's drained the bottle or otherwise says he's done like falls asleep, etc.

4. No leaking from the bottle itself and very little from his mouth. The leaking from the corners of his mouth are only when my son is moving around per my previous statement.

All in all I am pleased with this and am not embarrassed by the design. It's more embarrassing to show your real breast in public, which I am not embarrassed to do for feeding purposes. I will be getting the very hungry bottle most likely soon.

My exclusively breast feeder had me extremely worried when he refused 6 different brands of bottles. I was at my wits end and had to extend my maternity leave by an extra week because he refused so many bottles. I tried Nuk (refused), Dr. Brown's (refused), Medela (refused), Born Free (refused), Playtex (refused), Tommy Tippee (refused). I was so concerned because didn't want him to be forced to drink from a bottle due to extreme hunger.

I started my search and came across this bottle and saw that the nipple actually resembled the boob. It was expensive but I was willing to pay any dollar amount to find the perfect bottle for my 3month old.

When it came, I took the nipple off and stuck it in his mouth and he kept it in. Every other nipple (to include pacifiers) he would immediately spit it out. That night my hubby fed him and he took it. It has been 2weeks since we have had this bottle and he is even taking the bottle from me. Because he is now taking a bottle, he is amenable to the pacifier which he didn't take before (although is favorite is MaM and I have quite a few which he refused).

I only gave it 4stars because the cap is very difficult to put on. I struggle with it a lot. I now realized that the easiest way to get the cap on is to loosen the nipple, snap on the cap and then tighten. The cap is also easy to get on if you put it on directly on the nipple and the screw on to the bottle.

Thanks for making such a great product. It would be delightful if it is sold in stores and not only online!

My 11 week old is refusing bottles and of course I go to work in 2 weeks. We've been trying the last two weeks with no success. I had high hopes for this bottle. I actually love it & think my son might have taken it had the nipple not have been so hard! The boob part is awesome because it sits on his face like the breast but the nipple should be soft like moms nipple. I also don't understand why bottle companies make areolas? When breastfeeding almost all the areola is in the mouth, this part is also soft. I think the company should offer softer latex nipples. On the positive side, my baby refuses but doesn't gag like the other bottles we used.

Update: I got in contact with mimijumi, they now make softer nipples & they mailed me 2 free nipples. They are much better and we are still practicing. My son chews and one on a while an occasional suck. Overall its a good bottle, the lid is tricky & if not placed on correctly can cause it to leak. My son has done the best with this one, I guess we have to keep trying & praying for him to take it efficiently.
