Playfully Delicious - Chef's Choice - Play Set

Playfully Delicious - Chef's Choice - Play SetFirst, I want to say that I looked for a few months at different wooden vegetable sets...I saw several and almost bought a couple, but something kept telling me to wait. Then I saw this one, not sure if I had just missed it before or what, but I am SO HAPPY I waited! I bought this for my 18 month old daughter, who is now 21 months, and she LOVES it!!! The vegetables are not too hard for her to cut but challenging enough, and the pieces are not too small but small enough for her tiny hands. Just in the past few months, she has become a pro at cutting the vegetables and holding the knife correctly, which was something she learned after playing with these items. I know as she gets older, she'll continue to build on her imagination and prepare herself to help mommy with real veggies. The other thing I liked about these is something they were really not meant for. In the past few months, she's cut her last two front teeth, so she CONSTANTLY had these items in her mouth...you just can't prevent it sometimes! With the exception of the mushrooms (which I put up and have recently given back to her), I didn't have to worry about the veggies being too small and her choking on them...even when cut in half. And they are so durable!! They still look like they just came out of the box...even having been chewed on for several weeks!! I am very happy with this product and intend on buying more Hape products in the future. Oh, and the cutting board is just a great addition as she sees mommy use a cutting board daily...it's the icing on the cake.

I bought this to go with the Hape Gourmet kitchen and Coolest Cooler. The proportion is just right for this kitchen. Yes it is not to scale of real food but neither is the kitchen. So, it works great. It is really smooth and the Velcro works great. My grandaughter loves it and will have fun with it for years!

I tried so many pretend wood vegetables for my son. M and D smelled so toxic, they should have been in a autoshop rather than in a playroom. I tried plan toys but they were just weird, and too small. I then went with Hape because my son loves eggs and the set had a fried egg. And voila. It's non-toxic, large enough to be played with, and the vegetables are painted great.

I did lots of searching for a good starter set for my son. He is 19 months, and is a total boy (throws things, isn't super gentle, and isn't into tedious things). I had no idea if he would actually play with fake food but I needed something new for him to do in the house when we couldn't go outside to play.

I first got a fabric set of food from IKEA (the breakfast set). He barely noticed it. I really do like the fabric sets, but for some reason he just isn't drawn to them. Then, I personally fell in love with the wooden cutting food items. I did tons of amazon searching, and decided that this set had a good mix of items. I took a gamble and ordered it and am very glad that I did!

I don't know if he would have been interested in plain play food at this age....the cutting aspect is awesome! It took him a day or so to understand what was happening. I actually brought him into the kitchen and showed him how mama cuts food, and that he can do it too! And now, he loves to cut the pieces!

It is great quality I don't think the paint will be chipping like M&D products. The size is perfect (and will continue to be for any kiddo age I believe. Its really beautiful, and looks great with our IKEA Duktig kitchen. It seems like these pieces will be around for a long time.

The only downsides are the pizza and cheese. They are kind of pointless. They don't slice, and the pizza doesn't really look like pizza. The cheese is sorta random (but my kid doesn't like cheese...yeah I know...weird...so maybe another kid who likes cheese will appreciate it). And actually, he likes the mushrooms (he likes saying "mushroom").

So all in all, I am glad I got this set because I will definitely only buy wooden cutting food, unless we want something that needs to "stack" like Pizza or a sandwich....because wood just slides too much to be fun I think (I like the Haba Biofina line).

Also, he typically is a thrower but I have made it very clear for a while now that we only throw balls in the house, no other toys. So, I just continue that teaching, yet I have been hit with a mushroom...but like any other toy that gets thrown, it goes into timeout. So, yeah, it could be dangerous but it may be a good opportunity to teach them to not throw certain things? At least it is for us :)

Baby's Only LactoRelief Toddler Formula - 12.7 oz - 6 pk

Baby's Only LactoRelief Toddler Formula - 12.7 oz - 6 pkMY QUESTION FOLLOWED BY THEIR REPLY VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Hey guys,

So we are trying to feed a new born as much breast milk as we can, however there is not enough to meet his nutritional needs.

So a formula is in order as a supplement. With that, we are interested in your toddler formula, and it appears that since this meets the FDA Infant Formula Guidelines, that it should be safe, (and opinions on the Internet seem to feel the same way). However, our doctor says that it should not be used because of the higher amounts of calcium and phosphorous. He was also concerned about using the DHA/ARA supplement with concerns about the egg white process and that the proteins in egg whites are not good for an infant. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

THEIR ANSWER

Dear Dave,

Thank you for contacting Nature's One®. Firstly, you are correct in that our Baby's Only Organic® formulas meet the nutritional requirements of the FDA's Infant Formula Act. No dilution is needed for babies under 12 months of age. Please follow label mixing instructions.

Regarding the calcium and phosphorous content in Baby's Only Organic® formulas, calcium is an essential nutrient needed for bone health. The American Academy of Pediatrics Expert Panel for Nutrient Levels in Infant Formula has provided recommendations on the amount of calcium with the minimum per 100 Calories being 50 milligrams and the maximum being 140 milligrams per 100 Calories. Phosphorus is another important mineral for bone health. The Expert Panel has also recommended that the calcium to phosphorus ratio in an infant formula be no less than 1.1 or more than 2.0. Baby's Only Organic® falls within these ranges with our calcium at 135 milligrams per 100 Calories and a calcium to phosphorus ratio of 1.5.

Reference: Committee on Nutrition, Pediatric Nutrition Handbook, The American Academy of Pediatrics, 2009, pages 1245-1246.

The balance between calcium and phosphorus is most important for bone development. The calcium to phosphorus ratio in both Baby's Only Organic® formula and Enfamil NextStep is 1:5. Thus, Baby's Only Organic® formulas provide an appropriate ratio of calcium and phosphorus for toddlers and an appropriate overall quantity of calcium and phosphorus.

Regarding our Baby's Only Essentials® DHA/ARA supplement, The DHA utilized in our Baby's Only Essentials® DHA & ARA supplement is sourced from egg yolk phospholipids. You are probably aware that most often an egg allergy is caused by the egg white rather than the yolk. Additionally, it is the protein component of foods that usually elicit an allergic reaction. Because we use the phospholipids (not protein) from the egg yolk, there is only a very minute chance that an allergic response will ensue.

If your child has a history of allergies, we highly recommend that you consult your child's healthcare provider.

DHA is also found naturally in other foods, including oily fish like trout, sardines, tuna and salmon and the yolk of eggs. Dietary ARA is available from animal meats, dairy foods, eggs, peanuts and nori seaweed. As your child increases the variety of foods in her diet, you can include some of these foods in her diet. Other natural sources of DHA would include fish oil or fish oil supplements. Unfortunately, it is difficult to insure that these are free from mercury or other environmental toxins. But, also remember that these fatty acids can be formed from dietary linoleic and linolenic acids (nuts, seeds, grains legumes, vegetables and their cold-pressed oils). By including good sources of high quality fats in the diet, your child will easily be able to meet her specific needs

Most egg allergies are a result of ingestion of egg white; egg yolk allergies are rare.

Proteins are the component of foods that cause allergic reactions. Egg allergy is usually due to the proteins in the egg white. These protein allergens are: ovomucoid, ovalbumin, ovotransferrin; lysozyme, and ovomucin.

However, there can be a rare situation of egg yolk allergy. The literature to date usually associates egg yolk allergy to a reaction triggered by inhaled bird allergen, referred to as Bird-egg syndrome. This is a very rare syndrome.

Egg allergy can also be seasonal. Oak pollen, short and western ragweed and the goosefoot family of weeds may cross react with eggs when these pollens are in season.

The estimated point prevalence of egg allergy in children is 1.6% by 2.5 years of age. (1) Again, egg white is usually the cause of an egg allergy. Most children outgrow an allergy to eggs by 5 years of age.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Thank you for your interest in Baby's Only Organic® formulas. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,

Lori

HANDS DOWN the best formula on the market. Sadly, my breast milk dried up so I had to fine a formula. My poor son has so many GI, stomach, gas, crying, reflux, etc issues. We were on Alimentum for over a month. We even tried the ready to eat b/c I heard it was corn free. I also tried the hypoallergenic version by Enfamel. Nothing made him better.

After researching DHA/ARA...I found some scary things. Basically, it is made by using chemicals. There are some babies that have had a horrible reaction to this b/c of the toxins. You can google it. Anyway, I found this organic formula that didn't have it in it (you can buy DHA/ARA seperate made from eggs organically and no chemicals). I was nervous...b/c my son had so many issues...I didn't want to make it worse. But I tried it! Seriously, it has changed my son's life! He is a completely different baby! I no longer even give him acid reflux meds anymore...I mean of course it is still there...but that is how much better it is. My son has been on this since he was 6 weeks. I know it says toddler, but if you go to their site it is FDA approved for infants. They say toddler b/c they fully support breast feeding for the first year. It has the same cals, fats, nutrients, vit, minerals pretty much as the other leading brands...it's just organic...no DHA/ARA..and they don't use corn syrup. Seriously, try this formula!

I can't believe I am the first to review this great product.

We have been using Earth's Best Organic Infant Formula with Iron, 25.75-Ounce Canister (which is also a great product) up until our little started showing signs of lactose intolerance. After consulting with the pediatrician, we started searching for a suitable alternative.

Whilst Soy formulas are being offered as the "lactose free" alternative by many, our first preference was "non-soy" alternative. We also wanted a natural & organic product, free of those nasty chemicals and ingredients. After a considerable amount of research and shopping around, we found this was the best choice out in the market that was both lactose free and natural/organic.

Our little one also took to this formula very well and doing a lot better on this formula.

Our 9 month old originally was spitting up a lot. We had him 1st on Similac regular, then went to Similac Sensitive and finally to Similac Soy. The soy did the trick. He was on similiac soy for the past 6 months. When the Similac recall went through, my wife became disgusted with Similac and suggested we try a new brand. I was reluctant but did so anyway. We reminded ourselves that as babies get older, they become less fussy, less gassy and maybe they don't need SOY anymore if that's what they were used to. So I went to my local Whole Foods store and bought the Lactose Free Baby's only formula. AN instant hit !!!!! My son loves it ! Seriousely. He gobbles it down...all 6 oz in once shot. Before with the similac soy, he would have to take a break in between. My wife actually tasted the milk and said it is delicious compared to similac soy. Well, if adults like it, I am sure babies would too ! I am very happy thus far with our choice. We were going to get Natures Best, but read that the way they extract their DHA is not ideal. Glad I realized that. So far so good ! We always thought that our baby would be stuck with SOY formula...thank's to the similac recall and some good old fashioned parent intuition, we realized that is NOT the case. I am happy about that since SOY can cause some hormonal problems.....babies and adults alike. Thank you Baby's only for making an excellent product !

It's ingredients are of the highest standards and carefully mixed.

It uses organic brown rice syrup instead of the disgusting corn syrup that all other infant formulas use.

I gave it to my baby to supplement breast feeding starting at 8 months and he did great with it. No colic or reflux.

Thank you baby's one for making such a great product.

Beaba Babycook Pro2X Baby Food Processor and Steamer

Beaba Babycook Pro2X Baby Food Processor and Steamer(Gipsy)It only blends on one side, the other just steams.

Unless you have two to cook, you don't need this.

I live in NYC and simply takes unnecessary counter space. Go with Pro 1 not this.

I was using the baby bullet before I purchased this and it's like going from a bicycle to a Cadillac. It is so incredibly easy to operateI can use this while holding my little one. I love that it doesn't have a million pieces to wash, like the bullet did. It is tremendously more quiet that I would have ever imagined, which is great if your little one is sleeping. In all honesty, I don't think I needed the Pro2x, I definitely think the Pro would suffice, but figured it was worth the extra $40 to have 2 steaming/cooking bins. My Beaba is my new favorite baby product!

I recently started using the Babycook and strongly recommend it to any parent who wants to make homemade baby food. I really like that it's an all-in-one appliance-I can steam the food and then puree in the same container, creating minimal cleanup. I have been experimenting with different recipes and combinations of fruits and vegetables and adding in a little spice, so my son gets used to different flavors. I use the Babycook to steam veggies for our family meal and also to give to my son to practice with finger foods. The Babycook sits on my counter and I see using it long after my son is done eating purees. I'm planning to use it this winter to make soups! This is one of my favorite baby products!!

If you can splurge, it is wonderful to have.

As I was determined to primarily cook my own baby food, at first, I thought I was going to be fine with a regular steamer and blender. After a few weeks, it turned out to be such a hassle that I gave up and put up the cash.

Yes, I can see how one-side blending can be annoying although, to be honest, it really has not been an issue for me.

I love its capacity--I purposely went with Pro2X even though I have only one child. It is super convenient to steam larger quantities of food at the same time.

I use it to make yogurt-fruit smoothies and to reheat my baby's food.

I have not had any problems with leakage or the product malfunctioning.

Spare parts can be bought online and are relatively cheap. This is a huge plus.

Love, love, love it and wish I had bought it much sooner!

I agree with the other person's review about only one side blending ( both sides cook). That is indeed a bummer for the price! I like that you have an extra cup though in case one is dirty ( both fit on the blender side). My chief complaint with this product is you have to get the pieces really tight on the bottom for it not to leak in use. Maybe I'm doing something wrong because the instructions were kind of confusing and a lot of it appeared to be in French. I probably wouldn't buy this again although I liked it enough to not return. It steams efficiently, blends great, and is cute. I don't have a huge issue of counter space and its not a huge product in my mind. If you think you can manage keeping the cup clean on demand, I'd go with the version right below this. I wouldn't go with the basic model because although the size of the cup is good the steamer cup inside is even smaller by a tad. This is probably an item you buy for fun, Im sure there are more economical choices.

Fisher-Price EZ Clean High Chair

Fisher-Price Luv U Zoo EZ Clean High ChairI have never written a review before but am grateful to everyone who has in the past and I can't let this one slide.

This highchair is perfect! I love how easy it is to clean. We've been through a few highchairs over the years with our children and this is by far the best one. Finally a company catches on. Besides being super easy to clean (no more stained straps or having to disassemble the entire chair to get it clean), it was easy to assemble (15-20 minutes, with little ones trying to help), and love the design. I love how the part of the tray comes off for cleaning, leaving another tray for baby, yet still stays attached and doesn't go flying off when baby grabs it. I also love how the tray actually goes in toward baby's chest instead of leaving a huge hole for food to fall into baby's lap.

So glad we spent the little extra money for this highchair. It will be well used for quite a while.

I really like this chair so far. My 10 month old son could stand up and fall out of our eddie bauer wooden high chair so I purchased this one on Amazon for $89. Even with out the study and easy to clean 5 point harness he is safely but comfortable restrained. I have very limited space in my house and this chair, while bulkier than my eddie bauer chair is still very compact and folds up nicely if I need to get it out of the way. When I read about the easy to clean cushion I was nervous that it would be plasticy but it is really soft and comfy for baby and like the name says, very EZ to clean! The tray does seem to be a little lower that I would like but it doesn't seem to bother my son it just means he gets a little more food on his shirt (oh well). Also the inside of the tray curves in towards baby, which makes it kind of awkward but again it still seems comfortable. When I first put my son in it, it looked like he was almost too big but then as soon as he got out, my 3 year old daughter climbed in and she fit just fine! The straps are super easy to adjust as is the height (even while baby is in). The tray cover actually covers the edges of the tray too unlike other chairs I've seen where it's just the top and it hard enough to get off where baby can't throw it on the ground but easy enough that I can get it off with one hand. All in all I great high chair and I would recommend it for anyone!

Buy Fisher-Price EZ Clean High Chair Now

I bought this high chair right about the time my son was going to start eating solids. I had actually registered for a different one, and when I went to buy it, it was no longer available. I am so glad it wasn't! When I saw this one in-store (BRU), I had to buy it. Not only was it reasonably priced (Amazon's price on it is pretty good, too, especially for the Luv U Zoo print), but there were so many great features that it was a no-brainer.

First off, to address some of the complaints about size, my son is on the bigger side he is 100th percentile in length and 95th in weight and pretty much has been so far (he's 10 months old, about 32" long and about 25 pounds) and we have no problem with his fitting in the high chair. He also has chunky thighs that have no problem fitting inbetween the little t-bar thing. The tray can go all the way in without a problem and without squishing him. I do foresee that when he is bigger, it may be an issue that the back of the seat isn't very broad, so he may end up not being able to sit back all the way, but probably by that point he will be able to sit in a booster. So for those with babies on the bigger side, do not fear, and if you're worried about it, go check it out in-store at BRU. When I bought mine, there was a pre-assembled one on display. The upside to the chair's smaller size, though, is that my son doesn't have a lot of room to wiggle around and slip down, which helps (1) keep things clean and (2) focus on the task at hand (eating).

Second, I'd like to address the complaints that this high chair does not have wheels on the back, just the front, which some say makes it hard to push across the floor/carpeting. All I do is lean the chair forward so it's on the front wheels and push it backwards or pull it behind me. I am able to easily do this while carrying a 25-lb baby, and I move it from the dining room into the kitchen and back (about 20 feet) every day. I even roll it over an area rug in the dining room to get it to the kitchen, and I can do this without a problem. Maybe if I was rolling it with my son *in* the chair, it might be hard to do, but you're not supposed to do that. This chair is plenty light enough to remove him from the chair first, carry him, then move the chair where it needs to go, so there's really no need to move the chair with a baby strapped into it.

Otherwise I can't think of any cons, but here are the pros:

1. See above about the size of the chair with regard to non-wigglyness.

2. Cover is washable but also wipeable. Honestly I haven't had to wash it yet because it wipes off so nicely. It feels cotton-y, too, so you don't have that plastic/vinyl feeling. My only issue is that lint gets stuck to it from my son's clothes, but a quick swipe of a lint remover takes care of that.

3. The straps wipe off easily and, best of all, DON'T STAIN! It's admittedly gross when you see someone's high chair with the stained straps. You know they've cleaned them, but it still looks nasty. This is probably reason #1 why I bought a brand new chair instead of buying a used one!

4. The tray is dishwasher safe but also goes inward towards your child rather than leaves a gap. This is great for falling food it's more likely to hit the tray than end up in your child's lap. I find it helpful for teaching your baby to pick up finger foods and self-feed.

5. The chair is height adjustable and recline-able. Both are VERY easy to do. The straps are also super easy to adjust as your child grows.

6. Assembly was very easy! I was able to do it by myself in about a half an hour, and I'm not the handiest of women.

7. The print is adorable and unisex. We have a little boy, but who knows if any subsequent children will also be. Nothing like having a house full of frilly girly stuff or tough-boy stuff and then having a second child and feeling like you need new stuff.

8. SAFETY FEATURE What a LOT of people don't realize, and no one publicizes, is that most high chairs have a hidden danger... When kids are big enough to use their feet to kick off the table and push themselves backwards, they also have the ability to tip the chair over backwards. Sure, it's not likely, and some high chairs are probably more prone to it than others, but because of the leg configuration on this high chair, it is pretty much impossible for your child to accomplish this dangerous feat. I hadn't even thought of this until someone mentioned that their child had done this (as a warning not to keep my son too close to the table), so when I saw this high chair in the store, I realized it was built to prevent that, perhaps inadvertently.

I can't speak to the foldability of this chair because, well, I haven't traveled with it. However, because this chair is much more affordable than so many other high chairs, you can really afford to get a separate portable chair (the kind that straps to a regular chair) for travel.

I really can't say enough good things about this high chair. Everyone I know who has a baby (or is going to have a baby) and is in the market for a high chair probably hears way too much about it from me. I think a lot of folks think more money = better quality, which is often the case, in my opinion, but in this case they would be way off. The chair I registered for was about $150, and I am so grateful that I found this one instead!

I really like this highchair. I would give it a 4.5. It has a lot of good qualities. There are maybe a couple of things I think could have been better but, there aren't enough to bother me(like I don't like the orange circles but I actually did't notice them after about a day). Here's what I think of the features:

THE COVER

-the cover really is easy to clean. I can get it off easily if I need to. Water beads on it but, it does not feel plastic like at all. Also, I left carrots on it overnight and it came off easily and it didn't stain it. (I have the circles pattern). Because of how it is designed food doesn't get under the cover on the sides, which is awesome.

THE STRAPS

-The straps are rubber of something similar and are sooo easy to clean. It does leave red marks if the straps are too tight but they adjust easily, even while the child is in the high chair.

THE T-BAR AREA

-I have a long and skinny girl and she fits great(8.5 months and about 18lbs and almost 30'' long). My best friend's son is short and a chunk and also fits comfortably. He is 6.5 months and weighs around 23lbs. The t-bar on the high chair doesn't bother him. From the back on the high chair to the t-bar is 7 inches. On mine it looks a lot smaller because of how the cover is sewn. When my baby isn't in the high chair the cover doesn't sit right up against the back of the chair. There's a least an inch of space between the cover and the chair itself. So, it's not as bad as it seems.

THE FOOTPRINT

-This high chair doesn't have a big footprint. I mean this is a positive way. It's sturdy, but not huge. It's smaller than all the other high chairs I've had or my friends have. The footprint is 22''x27''. (24''x27'' if you measure the wheels in the front as the width)

THE TRAY

-Now about the tray. Yes the top tray could've covered the sides but, it doesn't really bother me because the tray can be pushed up right against my daughter. The top tray will not fit in a smaller dishwasher. It fits in ours but only sideways so, it takes up a lot of room. The top tray does have a nudge thing that it kind of "snaps" to. So, it doesn't just sit on top of the base tray but, it doesn't fully snap on either. My 8.5 is nowhere near being able to take it off. I also love that the tray can be put on one-handed by using the front handle or by using the two handles on the side. Also, you don't have to slide it on. You can just put it straight on and take it straight off.

THE SEAT

-The seat reclines into 3 positions, which is great but the handle to recline in on the back down right behind the child's bottom. It would be easier to reach if it were at the top but. Also, the handle it the kind where you pull it to unlock it and then have to help push the seat down until it locks again. I wish it had one where you pull on the handle then move it to the position you want by pushing or pulling on the handle. It also has different heights which are nicely spaced. Oh and the foot rest on the bottom doesn't move.

UPDATE

-I have now used the fold feature and traveled with the highchair. It was not made to store it folded up on a regular basis. The are two buttons you push behind the wheels. While pushing these, you swing the back part of the legs around to the front of the highchair. It's a lot easier to do with two people. We were able to stick in the trunk of our Kia Spectra just fine without a lot a other things in the trunk. If I had to travel with this and other stuff, I would unscrew the caps on the tops of the poles and slide the chair part off so it is in two parts.

I was looking for a simple chair that would be easy to clean, comfortable, and able to push up to the table without the tray. I love the smooth lines of this chair and the straps are brilliant! It is very comfortable for my 8 month old and my 3 year old. The only things that I don't love are the wide footprint (although this also equals stability), and the non-adjustable foot rest. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and think we will get lots of use out of it.

Baby Cubes Fresh Feeder

Baby Cubes Fresh Feederthis thing looks like it is made from cheap plastic. and the lock is not child proof. baby can pop it open 3 hours after using it.

Highly recommend this feeder. Much easier to clean than mesh feeders and has a great handle that's easy for baby to hold on to. Have not had any issues with baby being able to open latch. Only complaint would be that it'd be great to have a little bit bigger size (comes with two feeder sizes, but they are quite a bit smaller than mesh ones). The size and relative stiffness of the silicone does make it much easier for baby though. Definitely the best feeder I have tried.

Have used this item for 3 months and we love it. Easy to clean (the mesh ones are awful) and the handle is safe to chew without going far into the throat like some other silicone models. We put all kinds of fresh, frozen and cooked foods in it. Love it. Have had no problems with latch opening.

We have tried a lot of brands of chlorine free wipes and these are our favorite. They are soft and strong but do seem a little bit thinner and smaller than brands like Huggies. They work just as well, though, and I think the texture is more gentle. The wipes at the bottom of the package have a tendency to be a little bit soapy but flipping the package upside down when not using it solves that problem. The Earth's Best reusable container is crap. We bought a cheap package of wipes at the grocery store and use that container with these refills. The resealable plastic tab on the top of this refill package doesn't last as long as the package does so a reusable container is a must to keep them from drying out.

I tried these wipes and the Seventh Generation wipes, trying to find the best product and the best deal! The Seventh Generation wipes, while cheaper per wipe, are MUCH smaller and dryer and so you have to use more. The Earth's Best wipes are larger and wetter. I do have a bit of a time getting only ONE wipe out at a time, though. The only thing I loved about the Seventh Generation wipes was that they were so easy to get out of the container, only one came out at a time.

But, I would still choose Earth's Best wipes over Seventh Generation!

Diapers? That's a different story!

WARNING!!! Shouldn't be called natural.

I used these diapers for the first 6 months of my baby's life. My sister recommended them because they were "natural". Immediately I had a horrible bout of eczema on my right hand (the hand that constantly used the diaper wipes). My hand had large bleeding cracks and was constantly itchy. My mother also does a lot of changing (with Earth's Best wipes) and also had horrible eczema on her right hand. At first we figured it was because our hand was always wet from washing, etc., but I started reading about the ingredients and was extremely disappointed to read that one ingredient in the Earth's Best Diaper wipes is "sodium hydroxymethylglycinate". This ingredient is a broad spectrum antimicrobial and is linked to contact dermatitis and can release formaldehyde.I have stopped using these wipes and my hands have cleared up. I can't believe they market their wipes as eczema friendly....they CAUSE eczema!

I don't recommend buying these wipes.

Not liking these. They're very thick and so moist they leave a sudsy residue on my baby. I'm canceling my subscribe and save to this item and waiting for the "old" Seventh Generation wipes to come back. (They will be back in production and available in about 5 months.)

Sprout Advanced Organic Baby Food, Peach Pumpkin Pie with Graham - 5.5 Oz Pouch

Sprout Advanced Organic Baby Food, Peach Pumpkin Pie with Graham - 5.5 Oz PouchThis stuff is a little pricey but is super tastey! My 10 month old LOVED it. I tried a taste too and it was really good. The consistancy is nice and the smell is appealing as well. If it were $1 cheaper per packet I would totally load up and feed this tastey desert treat to my little one every couple of days.

Maymom Breast Pump Kit for Medela Pump in Style Pumps; 2 Breastshields, 4 Valves, 6 Membranes, & 2

Maymom Breast Pump Kit for Medela Pump in Style Pumps; 2 Breastshields, 4 Valves, 6 Membranes, & 2 Tubes for Pump in Style Advanced Sold After July 2006; Replacement Parts for Medela Breast Shield, Medela Tubing, Valves and MembranesI have purchsed Maymom products for years and never been disappointed with either the quality or price. I like that the flanges are 25mm a bit larger than the medela 24mm. I would highly recommend their product line of breastfeeding accessories that are compatable with medela pump in style.

Pumping several times a day, I need extra parts to save cleaning times. That is why I bought this product. This set is comparable to the Medela OEM parts and interchangeable.

I have two Medela Pump in Style pumps, one at home about 2 years old, and the other one at work which I bought off ebay. I bought two kits from this listing because I thought the product would work for both. I was wrong. The tubing could not fit the other pump I have. I then came to check out the photos of this listing to realize that I needed to purchase another kit Maymom Breast Pump Kit for Pump in Style Advanced Sold Before July 2006; for my pump at work. The key is the difference in the connection ports, one has a little stem in the center while the other does not. Get the right one for your pump in style!

I was able to return the extra kit I bought and then I bought the other kit as well. Now I have pump kits that can work well with my pumps and I am happy.

Why 4 stars? Although no impact at all on the function of the kit, the finishing edge of the yellow valves is not as good as the original Medela valves. But for the half price I paid, it is only a small cosmetic imperfection that I can live with.

Buy Maymom Breast Pump Kit for Medela Pump in Style Pumps; 2 Breastshields, 4 Valves, 6 Membranes, & 2 Now

I am a frequent buyer of Maymom products via various channels. I used to buy Maymom's products, such as tubing, membranes and valves separately at a good price. I am glad Maymom has now offered this breast pump kit as a set for an even better price.

The kit comes with a set of retail pack of tubing, a retail case set of 4-valve/6-membranes, and two 25 mm breast shields. Now I just need to buy this kit and don't have to purchase them separately.

Maymom's 25 mm breast shields fit me better than Medela's 24 mm ones. The entire kit works very well with my Pump in Style pump. I still have some old Medela OEM membranes and valves. Surprisingly, they are interchangeable with Maymom's membranes and valves.

I am happy with the purchase, and will come back again when needed.

Thermos Foogo Phases Leak Proof Stainless Steel Sippy Cup, 7 Ounce, Pink/Purple

Thermos Foogo Phases Leak Proof Stainless Steel Sippy Cup, 7 Ounce, Pink/PurpleI bought this because I wanted to find an insulated sippy cup to hold my daughter's cold milk.

PROS

Easy to wash

Easy for my daughter to handle and drink from

CONS

It's not really airtight and drinks don't stay warm/cold very well. I followed the instructions carefully -put boiling hot water or ice water to heat/chill the container and my drinks still didn't stay cold for more than a couple of hours. I even kept the thermos in the refrigerator in hopes it would work. While I knew there was no lid to keep things completely airtight, I was hopeful the insulation would work. It would have been nice to have a cap to keep drinks better insulated.

Even with the valve, it spills so you have to keep it upright

My daughter likes to push the spout into the bottle when I do not use the valve. I wish it stayed on a little better.

We really wanted to switch to stainless steel for the kids, and this is a nice looking cup, but from day one it leaks, there's an airhole in the top and liquids just flow out of it as soon as it's on it's side.

Buy Thermos Foogo Phases Leak Proof Stainless Steel Sippy Cup, 7 Ounce, Pink/Purple Now

We bought this cup when our daughter was about 8 months old, she was well into teething (our kids are slow/late teethers) but no actual teeth yet. She'd of course chew on it, which over 5 months caused the silicone to split at the valve. The biggest reason I bought this one was because she was used to the handles and soft spout of her Green Sprouts BPA Free Non Spill Sippy Cup Pink that we were replacing. I didn't expect it to last with her gnawing on it. We had also purchased the The Safe Sippy 2 2-in-1 Sippy to Straw Bottle, Green and ended up using this more for her milk and the other for her water or juice as the valves on the SS2 are more difficult to clean when you're in a crying "I want my milk!!" hurry.

We now have the Thermos Foogo Phases Leak Proof Stainless Steel Sippy Cup, Pink/Purple, 10 Ounce that we used for a few weeks (she has problems with hitting... and we have a newborn in the house... we had some incidents :( ). She loved it while she had it, the spout is hard so no valve splitting. All the Foogo stuff is interchangeable, so these handles fit the other cup(s) we have, and the lids all fit one another (came in handy as we had 2 Foogo by Thermos Leak-Proof SS 10 oz Straw Bottle in Pink left over from our oldest daughter.)

All the Foogo stuff is adequately leakproof, EXCEPT whatever fluid is left in the spout past the valve will drip out. It seems like a lot on this cup, but once that is gone it doesn't leak unless you have a split valve ;)

Melissa & Doug Shopping Cart

Melissa & Doug Shopping CartThe Melissa & Doug Shopping Cart was an unexpected find after going through screen after screen of overpriced plastic junk.

This cart is all steel, except for the plastic handle (which has a steel core), the folding plastic "kids" seat for a doll and the plastic wheels. This cart looks like the real ones in the stores and it's built to last! Assembly is a breeze, too.

The two front wheels rotate 360 degrees for steering and they are mounted on spring loaded "legs". If you child leans into the cart from the front or sides, it will compress causing a rubber "foot" to hit the floor and stop the cart from moving forward or backward. There are also rubber "feet" on the left and right sides.

The only "dangerous" thing I can see with this cart is where the plastic wheels are minimally covered by steel "fenders" for mounting purposes. I can foresee a pinched finger or two in our daughter's future, but you can't shield your children from everything in the world that might hurt them, nor do I feel you should. In this out-of-control P.C. country of ours, we're raising a nation of coddled kids that can't think or fend for themselves. OK, I'm off my soapbox!

One other thing, if this cart will be used indoors (and I'm sure it will be) it will be downright hazardous to your furniture. I have used the padded shipping material to create bumpers for the cart to try and protect our furniture. A little cutting with scissors and a few cable-ties and you're in business.

Buy this cart first, you won't be disappointed!

I love this shopping cart and my kids could play with it for hours. It is well made and is one of the cutest things in the M&D lineup. However, the metal cart scratches furniture and walls more than other plastic carts. Ours also has a place on the bottom where the steel spindle is a little rough and my kids seem to scratch their hands on it when they play with it. If you have good furniture I would opt for a plastic cart, if your furniture is beat to heck already this is a great little cart. :)

This shopping cart looks so much like the real thing it's awesome! Not surprised, coming from the M&D brand. I didn't understand what the straight legs were for, until my dh showed that when you push down on the cart, it actually pushes down, onto the pegs, to make sure kids aren't jumping in the cart and making a car out of it it will just stop and stay on the legs. Genius! I love that it has the folding seat for HuggyBear or Baby, or whoever my little girl loves at the moment. PERFECT toy. My daughter is 2, by the way. Younger than recommended, but I like to think she's a little advanced. :)Great Buy, Great Product!

My daughter had a cheap plastic cart that she demolished fairly quickly with the constant play it received. I bought this cart after reading many reviews and I am glad I did. We have had it for about a month and it is holding up wonderfully. This cart pushes smoothly and can withstand rough play. Very safe.

There are many toys that can make a child feel like he or she is in the grocery store imitating mom or dad, but most of them are meant for mild play at home and don't last for very long. Even though some stores use carts with plastic baskets, most still use carts with wire baskets and metal tube frame. The Melissa & Doug Shopping cart reminds me of the ones used in nearly every store that provides carts for customers to use.

The Melissa & Doug grocery-style shopping cart is so very realistic, we just adore it for our child. The Melissa & Doug Shopping Cart is made of a large gauge wire basket and very similar tubular frame, it has the typical fold out child seat with plastic bottom shield for a child's baby, and the plastic cover over the handle looks just like the ones at stores we frequent.

This cart also has two other features not found on typical carts: anti-tipping riggers and spring-loaded front wheels. Since the cart is smaller it has a narrower wheel base. This cart has anti-tipping riggers with rubber feet to help prevent the the cart from tipping which might result with a hurt child or damaged walls or flooring. The spring-loaded front wheels are a nice 'surprise' feature, too. These springs keep the cart from having such a rigid feel to it. It's too small for my children to get into (by design, I think), but when the kids lean over the end of the cart to get something out (like mom and dad do at the store) the springs allow the cart to lower which prevents the basket from pressing too hard on little ribs and tummies. This feature was an unexpected bonus we never would have missed, but really appreciate.

We like the durability and the realistic appearance, but what makes this toy even better is that the cart SOUNDS like the mom and dad's cart at the store. Plus, this 'toy' is actually very functional and useful. We also bought Melissa & Doug Wooden Pantry Products for playing at home, but this doesn't stop us from taking our little cart on real shopping trips.

We take this cart with us to the store for our little one to shop along side us when we visit the store and use shopping time as a way to teach our child how to be responsible at the store. Our child gets to carry some of the groceries or other items as we peruse and learns how to respect other shoppers at the store and how to handle a babydoll. Another lesson we try to teach is that everything she puts in her basket has to be purchased; we don't purchase what we can't afford. I believe this teaches confidence in doing the things she will one day need to do to provide and follow a budget.

If this were any other type of toy cart, we wouldn't feel comfortable bringing it to the store. Other than it's small size, this cart looks like it belongs in the store. What we have found from this one 'toy' purchase is that we are getting so much more from this than we could have imagined. I believe all of our discovery about how this basket can be sued is attributed to its appearance, feel, and strong construction.

As you could probably tell, we recommend this product if you are looking for something like this for your child.

ZoLi BOT Straw Sippy Cup (Various Colors) with Sample of Tooth Tissues

ZoLi BOT Straw Sippy Cup with Sample of Tooth TissuesI am a believer that if a child can take a sippy cup they are done with bottles. My two older children were able to take a cup at 5-6 months. Now with the third child I expected the same thing. She was a bit more stubborn! I have bought every cup imaginable. Ranging in price up to $15.00 in search of a cup she would take. After reading A TON of reviews on every single cup I bought this one. She took it immediately. She has been taking only this cup for 3 days and I have sacked up the bottles...we are done :) I just ordered 2 more. Hopefully after some time she will take other sippy cups as well so I will get my monies worth out of all of the cups.

My List Of Loves:

I love that it is easy to clean. I simply rinse it out and squeeze the end of the straw while water flows over the weighted part to clean out the straw.

It has a flip lid to keep it clean.

Handles on the side that do not move when she is holding it.

Fits in cup holders.

Does a good job of not pouring liquid out when she throws it on the ground.

Has ounces on it.

The flow is the perfect flow for her...not too fast like other straw cups we tried.

The weighted straw is the best part. It works great!

This is a great cup. I bought two and don't regret it. The little straw which tilts towards the liquid is, is such a great idea, and my daughter loves the handles and way it looks. She always gravitates to this cup. It's her favorite but my 2nd favorite cup.

Unfortunately there are just a couple of flaws which knock it out of the best cup category (What's the best cup out there imho? The Thermos Foogoo).

-First and most of all, the straw is narrow. So if you have a cold drink, the drink will go up the straw as it warms (like mercury in a thermometer) and leak out of the straw. I have to clean up after it all the time.

-The other flaws aren't as big of a deal: my daughter is a mouther so she chewed a piece of the straw of in the first 10 min of her use, and occasionally you won't screw the top on right but it's hard to tell until the drink spills out.

I like using this cup when I know my daughter will drink everything up quickly or if I intend to dump the drink immediately after use. It's not good for sipping and sitting around.

This has probably been the all around best cup for my son from age 9 or 10 months to now (almost 2). If you only get one cup, this is a great choice. I recommend buying replacement straws as well. Why is this the best cup? (1) No leaks, ever. (2) The weighted, soft plastic straw allows the child to drink up all the liquid in the cup down to the very last bit. With firmer straws, a little will also go to waste. The handles are slender but easy to hold. The lid is just easy enough for the child to flip themselves as they grow older.

The idea of this cup is amazing...the downside is it leaks everywhere. My ten month old is just starting to learn how to drink from a straw so I thought that this would be the perfect transition. For $12, I'd expect much, much more!

Plus side:

The straw follows the liquid good for when my daughter tips back the cup or when the liquid is low

Easy to hold and my daughter loves to play with the cap

Negative side:

It LEAKS!! It seems like the milk/water gets stuck in the straw and then pressure or temperature change forces the liquid to spew out when you open the cap. I just cleaned up a puddle of milk this evening

It is hard to clean the inside of the straw and I worry that old milk or old juice will rot in there
