VTech - Lil' Baker Smart Kitchen

VTech - Lil' Baker Smart KitchenMy son received this toy around 5 months immediately he loved to chew and play with this toy. He's now 11 months old and its still one of his absolute favorites. We've bought other Vtech toys but none have keep his attention for as long as this one. I think its due to the fact that not only does it light up and play music and teach lessons about the kitchen, but its one of the few Vtech toys that has pieces for him to pull out and actually play with. He still hasn't figured out how to put the shapes in the holes or pull down the dishwasher door on his own, so I know this toy will keep his interest for more months to come, as he continues to explore. The only down side to the toy is its easy to flip it over, but it really isn't too much of an issue since he loves to explore and play with toys in different ways, we just make sure to lean it up against the wall and he usually plays nice with it. I would highly recommend this toy if your baby loves to chew on and hit things.

Babies/toddlers like it, but the sounds and music will annoy the heck out of parents. When switched on it will start playing songs even when nobody is near it. But the really annoying thing about this little kitchen is how easily it falls over. Our youngest gets so mad every time it falls over, which is about every 10 seconds. They should have made this in a shape that is a little less easily toppled by a toddler. It's also really hard for young ones to open the oven door. For a toy that is supposed to keep a kid amused, it sure demands a lot of attention from an adult.

Our daughter really loved this little kitchen. She got this for her first birthday and would play with it for VERY long periods of time. Normally if she plays with something for longer than 5-10 minutes, its a miracle. She is a really, really busy girl. She paid with this for over 30 minutes at a time sometimes. She played with it for several minutes every day until she was about 16 months old. That's a long time in our house.

Its not very big, but there are a ton of things to do and it plays lots of songs. The voice is a little annoying but the music isn't too bad. All the parts and pieces are fun to play with. My daughter loved the shape sorter and stirring the bowl. I think it helped her learn to grip her flatware and use spoons and forks to pick up food to eat with. The shape sorter also helps with motor skills and learning shapes.

The toy is very durable, she's picked it up and dropped it many times and thrown the pieces all around, chewed on them a bit too. Everything still looks brand new.

Its easy to clean the small parts with soap and water, the electronic bits can be wiped down with a Lysol wipe and are good to go!

My son first played with this at a friend's first birthday party when he was about 8 months old. He loved it! I didn't think much of it until we saw it at a store. He gravitated to it and couldn't stop playing with it even when we were waiting in line to pay for it. He plays with it ALL the time. We got it when he was about 10 months old, and he is now 18 months old. He still plays with it more than his bigger kitchen that he got for Christmas. He loves sorting the shapes and pressing all the buttons. He figured out pretty quickly where all the sound trigger tabs were for the pot and the shape sorter. He also likes to bring us "soup" in the spoon to taste. I would definitely buy this again and have recommended it to other moms.

My mother-in-law got this for my son when he was 18 months old. I thought it was really cute, especially for him to play in the kitchen with while I am cooking. However, the first one stopped working after not even a day. He hadn't really been rough with it all. I changed the batteries to see if that would help, but it didn't. Luckily, she had purchased it at Walmart and they exchanged it no problem.

However, we had this one for a couple of months and it stopped working too. I don't know what the deal is. Could I have gotten two lemons? It's possible but not likely. Again, I changed the batteries and it still didn't work. (I tried two sets of brand new batteries to make sure I wasn't crazy.)So as my four year old said, "We'll just have to pretend with now." Yep.

The little pieces with it were often scattered around the house but I think it could have been a cute toy. I haven't seen any other complaints about this by anyone else but for two to do the same thing, makes me think it's not an operator error. We have SO many toys that we don't have any problems with. Anyways, purchase with caution and keep the box and your receipt!!

8 pack - Happy Baby Apricots & Sweet Potatoes - Stage 2 - 3.5 oz

8 pack - Happy Baby Apricots & Sweet Potatoes - Stage 2 - 3.5 ozDeceptive title! Did not receive an 8 pack, only received one pouch. Someone needs to revise the title so as not to mislead consumers. Have yet to feed this very expensive meal to my daughter so I cannot comment on the flavor, but we love happy baby products in general.

I have always liked these pouches from Happy Baby the best. Apricot & Sweet Potato is my baby's favorite. My baby only like to eat these. It is great for traveling, No messy bowls or spoons. It saves time too. I would recommend this to every mom.

This flavor was just awful. my daughter refuses to eat it as it's so sour and tastes just plain gross. The sweet potatoes are just ruined by the apricots.

Want 8 pack - Happy Baby Apricots & Sweet Potatoes - Stage 2 - 3.5 oz Discount?

But my daughter refused to eat it. When I tasted it I could understand why, it was so tangy it almost made my mouth pucker! IMO it really needs some pear or apple or banana to smooth out the flavors. Easy enough to do at home, but not when you are on the go (which is why I purchase these pouches). I won't be buying this flavor again!

Mimijumi 2 Count Replacement Nipples

Mimijumi 2 Count Replacement Nipples, Medium FlowMy daughter was exclusively breastfed and until she was about 10 months would not take a bottle. We tried every bottle we had access to and she refused it. I did some research online and found the Mimijumi bottle so I gave it a try. We were so thrilled that she actually drank from it! Ah what a relief. She is still drinking -from it and is using the stage three nipple, which is hard to find, so thankfully I found them here. Love this product and would recommend to anyone.

The fast flow nipples are a completely different texture then the slow and medium, I think this would cause "nipple" confusion to the baby as it feels like a completely different bottle. The packaging was from two years ago. Upon looking up the fast flow on Mimijumi's web site, they don't currently sell the fast flow, they will be coming out with a new fast flow soon.

Go ahead get the medium flow (slow comes with the bottles) and wait for Mimijumi to release the new fast flow.

I love the bottle and all I needed was the Medium flow for my then 3 month old. My baby hardly noticed the change.

I brought this bottle for a baby that is used to bottle feeding, she absolutely would not take it even after multiple tries. I do however love the design and the lid doesnt catch any fluids which is great. I would absolutely love this bottle if baby would take it. He did take the comotomo bottle so I have switched to that one instead.

If you are lonely, and crave the gentle touch of mammary glands, look no further! These lifelike nipples are the best substitute! I don't know why they call them "replacement", as if it goes with something else. (rolls eyes). For some added fun, you can fill these with Hi-C or Kool-Aid, now your quenching your sense of abandonment, and your thirst! 2 birdie birds with one stone!

GYRO BOWL Spill Resistant Kids Gyroscopic Bowl with Lid

GYRO BOWL Spill Resistant Kids Gyroscopic Bowl with LidI wanted to buy the because my toddler is always accidentally spilling her snacks in the car or in the living room. I chose to pay extra to get fulfillment via amazon vs. directly thru the company other reviewers were having issues with.

As far as I'm concerned, this bowl does exactly what it advertises! The caviat is that it has to be held correctly by the rim. My toddler held it with her thumb inside at first, which you can't expect a gyro to work if you purposely keep it from moving. If your toddler wants to spill something purposely, they'll figure out how to spill this pretty quickly if you let them. Also, i think i read that someone threw their bowl across the room and were surprised when it broke. I thought it was pretty unrealistic to expect to bowl to survive that kind of impact, but it'll handle being casually dropped just fine. Anyway, my toddler holds it by the rim now and the bowl has definitely cut down on the spills during snack time. This product is probably overmarketed as 'spillproof', but it was definitely worth the money for me.

After reading the reviews, both good and both, I figured we'd try the bowl for our 2 year old son. With free shipping and returns, how could we go wrong? I had the bowl out of the box for about 2 minutes, filled with cereal, before it spilled. I then handed it to our son to try out and he too, within minutes, had spilled the cereal. Neither of us was being overly aggressive with it, and it all came tumbling out. Will be returning these after only 2 days. Great concept, but doesn't function like it looks on TV.

We absolutely love this bowl and are planning to get a few more of them. My 18 month old uses this bowl for her snack every day and, while it doesn't prevent 100% of spills (it was never intended to), I bet we avoid somewhere between 80-90 percent of the spills we would get with a regular bowl. She walks all over the house with her snack and rarely do we have a spill (much to the dogs dismay!). The bowl is also easy for her to hold.

One of the previous reviewers complained about the performance of the bowl with her 9 month old. I doubt it would be a good fit for most infants. It is designed more for toddlers.

The Loopa bowl is fun for toddlers. It's like a toy kids can eat out of. It's function is supposed to be that the contents don't spill as easily as a regular bowl. It's only good for dry foods such as cereal, fruit, etc.. obviously, since liquid would spill regardless. The kids give it 5 stars!

Want GYRO BOWL Spill Resistant Kids Gyroscopic Bowl with Lid Discount?

So, I saw the bad reviews before I ordered the bowl and decided I would get it anyways because there were some 5 star reviews also. I thought the bowl was the best invention ever when I saw the commercial.

When I got the bowl I immediately wanted my son to use it (He is 17 months). I cut up about 5 pieces of a banana (kind of sticky so I assumed it would stick to the bowl regardless) The bowl worked for 5 minutes. Somehow he managed to dump the bananas out all at once.

I say maybe it depends on the kid because the whole 5 mins my son was actually trying to figure out how he could dump the bananas out instead of reaching his hand in the bowl and just eating them that way.

I am keeping the bowl because I think it's cute but it doesn't work for rough lil toddlers who feel like they have to smear their snacks on the floor before they eat it. (i.e. my son)

Thermos Funtainer 10-Ounce Food Jars

Thermos Funtainer Monsters University Food Jar, 10 OunceSIMPLY THE BEST

i tried to send hot lunch with my daughter to school and it always get cold after 2 hours, sometimes less.

but with this thermos product the food was hot for 7 hours, i know it says hot for 5 hours but it kept the food hot for more than that. if i can give more stars i would do.

The vacuum insulation mechanism works great, as many other reviewers have mentioned. The body is made of high quality stainless steel that is quite resistant to scratches. The bottom plastic "shoe" helps absorb shock when it is dropped and prevents dents to the bottom. Two issues I have with this unit : (1) it is too small even for my 3rd grade girl's lunch. Save yourself some trouble, buy the 16 oz. (stainless king). The outside dimension is almost the same for these two although the 16 oz. unit is slightly taller but holds far more food. (2) there is a deep groove in the lid that is very difficult to clean. My hubby tends to overlook this crevice and mold would grow in two days if the jar was used for sticky food.

I've bought 4 Funtainers and they work really well! I recently tested them over 3 very hot (90+ degree) and very long days at the Sesame Place amusement park which has very little shading. I was impressed by how well they worked.

OVERVIEW

========

All Funtainers are BPA free. That's the main reason why I bought them. The lids fit very well and if properly screwed on, they will not leak.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

===================

The Funtainers work very well in keeping things cool in the 3-4 hour range.

If you will be out all day (such as during a heat wave at a theme park) you can further extend the cooling protection for an additional few hours by doing the following:

Use an insulated lunch box/soft cooler

Use an ice pack

Put the Funtainer in the freezer the night before (without the lid and without any liquids)

Since it's summer, I haven't tested how well it keeps things warm but it is supposed to be long enough to keep food warm from breakfast time to lunchtime. An insulated lunch box/soft cooler will also extend this a bit.

CLEANING

=========

The wide mouth of the Funtainer makes it easily hand washable. You wont have trouble using a sponge to clean the interior.

After calling the Thermos customer service, they still recommend handwashing them rather than using a dishwasher. The heat from the dishwasher will eventually wear down the water-tight seal of the lid and the bottom rubberized plastic may come off. Also the paint on the exterior (used for the cartoon characters) may wear down.

The silicone (or rubber?) O-ring that is used to tightly seal the lid can be easily removed for cleaning if you are concerned about mildew. But I would only recommend doing it periodically as stretching it may reduce the lifespan of it.

ADDITIONAL TIPS

===============

If you can't find the Funtainer design that you want on Amazon, you may want to check your local stores. I was surprised to see them on sale at Toys R Us.

If you have a young kid, try to see if they are able to open the Funtainer by themselves or they may go hungry the first day of school. Since the lids can be attached semi-loose to very tight, you may want to experiment what works best in your case.

Gerber Organic Single Grain Brown Rice Cereal

Gerber Organic Single Grain Brown Rice CerealAfter five months of exclusively nursing, this was the first food that I bought for my baby. I usually trust Amazon to offer a good price, and I hadn't done any comparison shopping for this rice cereal. Bad idea! I paid more than $12 here for my first box, and just today purchased a box at the grocery store for $3.19 -and that was NOT on sale, just regular price. I think the seller is taking advantage of the fact that many moms will be buying this as their first food for baby, and aren't aware of how these things are priced. It's a disgrace--buy this product, but buy it elsewhere!

FYI read the ingredient list on the product. It contains quite a few ingredients, including soy. Earth's Best is a better choice.

The Quick Split - diaper bag must have - portable food cutter for baby and toddler feeding - perfec

The Quick Split - diaper bag must have - portable food cutter for baby and toddler feeding - perfect for on the go, plus a handy kitchen gadget and USA made! The other day while my husband and I along with our 16 month old so were out to eat at a BBQ restaurant. The knife that the restaurant provided just wasn't cutting it to cut my son's food. I said to my husband that we need a "travel-sized pizza cutter" for occasions like this. Later that night I searched just that and the quick split came up. It was exactly what I was looking for. Ordered it right away. It cuts great and fits perfectly into our diaper bag, doesn't take up much space at all.

The Quick Split is basically a little pizza wheel with a carrying case. So simple, it's brilliant! It's handy to keep in my purse for cutting up my 22 month old's food in restaurantsmakes quick work of the job, which gets the food in her belly quicker, which makes for a nice, quiet dining experience for everyone in the room. It's also handy for cutting toast and sandwiches into bite-size pieces at home. And actually, last night, I made pizza and couldn't get my drawer open that holds the pizza wheels, so out came the Quick Split. It worked great on that, too. Having the leverage come straight down on the Quick Split helps make cutting fast.

Another great feature of The Quick Split is that it's easy to clean. Unlike scissors, which have that hinge where stuff can hide, the Quick Split rinses right off, clean as a whistle with water and a little soap. Just like that! I'm so glad I found out about this indispensable gadget!

I was lucky enough to come across a wonderful new product, The Quick Split...not to be confused with a mini-pizza cutter...It is SO MUCH MORE-it is a handy, super-convenient, fabulous food cutter you can whip out of your purse/diaper bag/back pocket and WA-Freaking LA...you save the day!

Why I love it:

-I can cut up a hot dog, baked potato, grilled chicken, or pasta and meatballs in 20 seconds flat...w

-Small enough to fit in my wristlet. I have parted ways with my gynormous diaper bag and attempt to downsize, if not it is a staple in my "bag of goodies" I keep on hand close by!

-Sharp enough to ACTUALLY cut food-I mean practically anything...Apples, cheese, kiwi, pizza, chicken parm, I have tried it on mostly everything! I actually utilize a lot even while at home.

-I feel like a pretty cool mom when I use it. Men like their electronics, moms like their gadgets! And I also like to tell everyone I know about it. I typically read reviews and never take the time (shame on me) to write one, but I had to spread the word about his fabulous find!

-It always goes on vacation with me! We travel a lot...

-It is super easy to clean (aka dishwasher safe)

-The cover actually stays on (hence childproof) and is sturdy-the product itself is extremely durable.

-It is MADE IN THE USA and the local Mompreneur is from Indiana!

-It isn't JUST for moms...if you camp or travel for business or pleasure often this is a great product to have on hand!

Highly recommend, and very happy with my purchase!

Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer

Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food WarmerAfter trying to find a way to heat a bottle up on the road or in a store with a hungry, frantic, crying baby a few times; I started looking for portable warmers. I searched high and low, but every product I looked at had horribly mixed reviewswhich usually doesn't phase me too much, but in the case of the warmers, I didn't want to take the chance. I am so glad that I decided to buy this warmer/ thermos. It works for bottles and later for heating up solids. I put hot water from my Keurig in it before I leave the house and then if I need to make a bottle, I fill half or 2/3 with the hot water and the rest with water from my water bottle. It comes out perfect every time! The water stays hot in the thermos for hours, and it is pretty much idiot proof, portable, and leak proof. Plus, I can make a bottle as soon as I need itunlike the warmers that are plugged in or operate with the heat packs. Another option is filling the white cover up with the hot water and submerging the bottle in itand letting it sit in a hot water bath to heat up. Although, I haven't tried that option yet. It is even handy to have next to my bed, so I can mix warm bottles up during the night, so one of us isn't constantly running to the warmer in the kitchen. i think this is an excellent option for anyone looking for a portable warmerit is easy, convenient, and much more reliable than the alternatives on the market. Give it a try!!!

This was one of the most helpful baby products I have purchased. I have twins and they eat every 3.5 hours, so if I want to take them anywhere I have to plan to feed them while I am out. I have tried taking preportioned formula and hot water in a thermos, and then mixing them on the go, but this creates a huge mess and is very time consuming, not to mention that I am trying to get the bottles ready while tending to two hungry, fussy babies. This travel warmer allows me to bring the bottles already prepared (of course they do need to be put in some sort of cooler), and then simply put the bottle in the "cup" part and pour the hot water over it. Presto in less than 3 minutes I have a warmed bottle (and I usually put an ice pack in the cooler with my bottles, so that tells you how fast it warms). For the people who said the water burned their child, I'm sorry but I think you have to be more precautious as a parent. Every time I fill these I turn them upside down to make sure they are not leaking. Then when I am preparing the bottles, I put the thermos and "cup" on a hard surface so there is no risk of anything tipping, and I keep the babies in their carseats in the stroller. Just like you wouldn't bring a baby near the stove when water is boiling, you shouldn't have the baby anywhere near water this warm. I just really can't say enough about how much easier this has made it for me to get out of the house with my two little ones.

Buy Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer Now

I found out early on that my daughter was super-picky about the temperature of her bottles--even room temperature was sometimes too cold for her--so I began searching for a travel warmer that would be quick, easy, and reliable regardless of where we were. I kept hearing from friends that the plug-in style to use in cars took forever and really didn't heat well at all, so when I came across this one at a local store, I bought it immediately.

Hot water in a cup was the same way the nurses heated my daughter's bottles during her short stay in the NICU, so I figured this would be an affective method for us when we were on the go as well. I love this thermos, because we fill it up with super-hot water before leaving the house, and it stays that way for hours. When I need to heat a bottle, I just unscrew the cup, push the button to open the seal on the thermos, and pour hot water over the bottle in the cup--I have a bottle heated and ready to go in just a couple of minutes!

I realize that it's just a thermos with a cup attached, but this is a really smart design. After I'm done heating the bottle, I just pour the hot water back into the thermos, and most of the time it's still hot enough to use again. Also, because the the cup screws onto the thermos, there isn't ever any water in my bag when I'm done using it--so no mess when I get home (in my bag anyway...the baby is typically a different story!)

Every once in a while, one finds a baby-need solution that makes life so much easier, you wish you'd had it the whole time (and in our case, for your last kid). This is one of those times.

The prospect of going out with our two little ones always had this little road bump of stress on the horizon: When its time to give the little one the bottle while we're at the zoo, on a hike, at the botanical gardens...how are we gonna heat that sucker up? Is there a cafe that will give us a hot cup of water? Is there warm water in the bathroom? Kid you not, at the LA Zoo, I actually had to use one of those bathroom hand-dryers to warm up a bottle of breast milk...Boo!

With this warmer, we won't have that issue again. It's a simple solution. Basically, a hot water thermos and a large, insular water container that nest together when not in use. No electricity needed. Fill it up on your way out with boiling water, and many hours later you'll have plenty of hot water to warm your bottle with. Because we stock it with very hot water, it literally only takes a few minutes to heat up a chilled bottle of breast milk.

The only reason we don't give it 5 stars is because of it's bulk, and because it requires extreme care to be used safely. I'll be honest here and "out" myself for stupidity: I once tried to pour the hot water into the container while it was clenched between my knees and proceeded to burn my thigh. Now this is more of a common sense problem on my part than a design flaw, but I share it as a reminder that hot liquids and parenting need to be handled with forethought and care.

Pros:

Works; Works Quickly

Easy to Use

Large Enough to Fit Any Bottle or Food Container

Cons:

Large

Heavy

Requires Extreme Care To Use: Because it works with hot water, you can scald yourself or your baby if you are not careful. Whatever you do, do NOT pour the water or let the bottle sit and warm up anywhere within reach or spilling distance of your precious one!

This is essentially a thermos and a container that you can pour the hot water you put in thermos in to place a bottle in for warming. The water stays hot pretty much all day in the thermos. No complaints whatsoever. Works much better than the sleeves that you push the button and the gel heats up around the bottle.
