Baby Brezza Quick Blend Blender

Baby Brezza Quick Blend BlenderLet me first say that it broke after 3 weeks. I smelled burnt plastic, and when I removed the top part, there was plastic saw dust under it.

I bought this blender because of small size and good looks, and in spite one single-star review. Upon arrival it felt cheap, and did not sound right. The motor is extremely and unpleasantly loud, and lacks smoothness. For comparison: my Cuisinart blender is smooth, it sounds something like an electric drill. This thing, filled with banana or baked potatoes, sounded like a coffee grinder full of beans. It is really hard on the ears of everyone in the house.

That said, it was easy to use and it did its job well. The shape works well for pretty much every kind of food, and it is easy to clean.

When it broke, I felt sort of relieved and placed it right in the dumpster. I don't miss it at all. I bought the 1 1/2 cup Cuisinart mentioned above at a local shop and I've been very happy with it.

Yay I get to be the first to review this item! How exciting! I have the Baby Brezza (actually I have two) and I really thought I wouldn't need or use this but we are going on a cruise in November and I figured this blender is small enough to take with me so that I could blend some food on the ship and feed my 7 month old as opposed to buying jarred (sorry I cringe now when I think about jarred baby food) baby food and lugging it around for a week. Soon, I found myself reaching for this on a daily basis. Here is what is so nice about it: I make my own food using the Brezza and I store it in 1 ounce cubes. My baby girl can plow through 7 ounces of her frozen veggies in one feeding so I recently started adding rice and meat to really fill her up. First I thaw the cubes in the microwave then I add it to the blender with some rice and cooked ground beef along with just a little bit of water. Grind for about 30 seconds and poof! I have ready made baby food. Although I could easily use the Brezza to defrost or reheat and then blend, I feel it takes too long. The lowest steam setting is 10 minutes versus 30 seconds in the microwave. Also, using the Brezza means you have to clean the bowl, take out the blade, empty the steam basket, yadda yadda whereas the blender, you just pop off the top and stick it in the dishwasher. And again, it is small enough to travel with if need be. So, in a nutshell, I would definately purchase this to use on a daily basis. Love my Brezzas but not practical to use 2-3 times per day with each meal.

If you're interested in making the occasional puree with lots of water, this blender will probably suffice. It's small, easy to use and clean, and blends enough baby food in batches for freezing. If you're relying on it as your main blender for making baby food, however, get something more robust. Mine broke after only a couple uses because the mechanism that connects the blade to the motor is PLASTIC, not metal, and melted after pureeing a small amount of sweet potato. Go with a real blender if you're looking to puree for any baby older than 6-7 months.

I was given this baby blender as a baby shower gift and loved it! It blends things really smoothly and I was able to do carrots, bananas, etc... However, the bottom of the plastic part that holds the food and fits onto the base is flimsy, flimsy plastic. It fell on our linoleum floor and the bottom cracked like an egg. You would think the plastic would be stronger. Handle with care if you do buy because if it falls, it's gone.
