I just talked to customer sevice before buying this product. The bottle diameter MUST be a bit UNDER 3 inches. Tommee Tippee does NOT fit, but Avent and Born Free do, for example. Make sure to measure at the widest part of the bottle, not just the base.

We ordered this bottle warmer after having trouble with an inexpensive warmer. I wanted something that would consistently warm the bottle to the same temperature every time, and this one does just that. The dial allows you to be precise with the warming. We have had to turn it a bit above the actual amount that is in the bottle (level 6 for 5 oz), but that is most likely because we are using a thicker formula with added rice starch. With regular formula or breast milk, it would probably be just right.

I purchased this from Amazon after doing major research and spending 10 minutes warming a bottle in a pan of hot water. Sure it's a bit pricey for something as simple as a bottle warmer but this warmer is great! As a newborn, my son was a colicky baby. A warm bottle helped soothe him to bed at night. This warmer (we used Dr. Brown's bottles the standard size, not wider series) warms a cold bottle in 3 minutes flat. A room temp bottle, 2 minutes. It's not burning hot (as long as you set it to the correct setting) and when you have a screaming baby on your hands, a couple of minutes is a blessing.

PROS:

1) doesn't take up much counter space in the kitchen

2) uses just a small amount of water in the basin to steam

3) uses steam to heat, no chemicals

4) warms bottles very quickly

5) beeps when done

CONS:

1) A bit pricey

2) If you leave the bottle in the warmer after it beeps done, it will get super hot, quickly, so you have to remove the top cover right away.

This warmer gets hot...and I mean HOT! My husband and I have both burnt ourselves on the steam. You have to use a hot pad but it's then hard to grab onto. Then the bottle is so hot I would transfer the milk to another bottle which just created more bottles to wash. I actually stopped using it completely for bottles and just submerge them in a mug of hot water instead. I may bring it back out to use for baby food when I get to that stage, but we'll see.

We make whole made formula which involves raw milk. The super fast heat of this device causes the cream to solidify and curdle. If this were breast milk or powder formula I bet it would be just fine.
