We bought this mattress for our 2-year old's "big kid" room. He has been in it for about a week, and we love it. No noticeable smell or off-gassing, even right out of the packaging. We've had one test of the waterproof qualities of the toddler side, and it worked like a charm. I can see this mattress lasting for many years hopefully until he's a teenager ready to leave home!Note that it seems to be a bit heavier than a traditional mattress, so moving this full-size mattress is definitely a 2-person job. This came into play when it was delivered curbside and my husband needed to get it from the curb into the house....
