green sprouts 3 Pack Waterproof Terry Snap N' Scoop Bib

green sprouts 3 Pack Waterproof Terry Snap N' Scoop Bib, GirlThese are perfect! I love everything about them so far. There is nothing negative I can say about them. It would be nice I guess if they each had a plastic part and you didn't have to unsnap and snap the plastic part, but then it would be harder to wash in the machine, also less eco friendly probably too. We were looking for terry water proof bibs and they were hard to find and then even harder to find with a cup at the bottom. We will ammend the review if they don't hold up well, but so far, they are fantastic. I also think they could be more like 15 bucks...18 is a little pricey.

These bibs are perfect when your baby is learning the art of feeding themselves. They are comfortable on their chins and the pocket is great for catching all those bits they don't like.

These bibs are great because they are flexible yet still have the tray to catch any food spills or drops. They wash well too. It's important to point out that they are larger and best for babies who are at least 6 months or older.

Earth's Best Organic

Earth's Best Organic Infant Formula with Iron, DHA & ARA, 23.2 Ounce CanisterTo be honest, I have never written a review, not matter how good or bad a product I received was. I never had the time and never bothered. Today, I write my very first review of a product that I have been feeding my precious son since birth. He is now 2 years 4 months. I could never breastfeed him exclusively due to bone density loss and I did massive amounts of research and tried out tons of different brands before deciding on this organic formula from Earth's Best and since then, even though he is now a toddler, I still use the Earth's Best infant formula and supplement with other child vitamins.

I was trying to re-order again in bulk from Amazon when I noticed for the first time the controversy over DHA/ARA extraction by the use of toxic hexane of which Hain Celestial which manufactures Earth's Best is guilty of. To understand my utter complete fury, you must know that I live in Singapore and I quite literally pay international shipping for every can of this formula (and wade through customs declarations, tests and tax levies) to bring this milk to my son. In Singapore, this can of milk is also available but in highly limited quantities and even more princely prices (yes, even after the tax, customs and shipping, it still costs less than US$68 which is the going price per can here). Calls to Hain Celestial customer service drove me further up the wall when first, a lady said the hexane was only in trace amounts and less than what the FDA approved. Then, reaching another lady an hour later, the story was different. She said that the hexane solvent method was the only method approved by the FDA to extract the DHA/ARA from non-toxic algae and soil fungus. A third occasion and Hain's customer service informed me that there should be no hexane detected in the product but on further probing admitted that she was not aware if the formula had undergone independent third party tests.

To me, this is crazy. The formula was marketed as a pure organic product and we pay premium prices (especially me!) for a premium product. To find that that they have taken such short cuts is completely unacceptable and the worst thing is that, it turns out that most of the other organic formula companies do this exact irresponsible thing and keep quiet about it. The only company that does not is Baby's Only it uses a water based process to extract their DHA/ARA from eggs(compare this to Hain's claim that the hexane method is the only one approved by FDA and one wonders why Baby's Only hasn't been hauled up by the FDA yet). My son is going on that pronto once I can get a shipment to Singapore. Unfortunately, Baby's Only is not available in Singapore (not even at princely prices) and my son is going to have to continue ingesting his Earth's Best formula in the interim.

Although any mom would prefer to feed their baby breast milk, there are circumstances that do not allow everyone to do so. I am stuck in that boat. So, I went on a quest to find the next best thing, organic formula. My son has been on Earth's Best formula since he was one week old and has no problems at all.

Here is what I LIKE about Earth's Best:

ORGANIC. I am very conscious about what I put in my own body so I wouldn't not have it any other way for my son. The use of pesticides and genetically modified ingredients is a terrifying concept to me. EB contains no growth hormones, antibiotics, steroids or potentially harmful pesticides or herbicides.

EASY TO DIGEST. My son has no fussiness or issues with this formula. He's happy and content and has had no issues with gas or spitting up due to the formula. My son was a very colicky baby but we had tested out a few formulas before concluding that it was definitely not the EB causing his fussiness.

AFFORDBILITY. Due to the recent recall of Similac organic formula, Earth's Best became the only affordable organic formula on the market that I could find readably available. The only other option available on the market besides Earth's Best is Babys Only Organic Toddler Formula, Dairy Iron Fortified, 12.7-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 3) and at nearly $30 for 3 cans of 12.7 oz of formula was out of our means. With Amazon subscribe and save, this formula is nearly the same price as non-organic formula. How could I even consider feeding my son anything else?

These are the ISSUES I have with the formula:

SYRUP SOLIDS. Sugar in formula? Excuse me! This is really disappointing but I believe the organic element of the formula far outweighs switching to a non-organic formula. As I said earlier, Baby Only is too expensive to even be an option for us. Plus, I believe the use of pesticides in formula ingredients is a far more dangerous concept than sugar!

DHA/ARA. I am not a fan of the synthetically derived DHA/ARA found in EB formula. However, there are no affordable formulas on the market that have naturally derived DHA/ARA. Therefore, its hard to judge EB alone. The formula industry should be required to find a NATURAL way to derive DHA/ARA if it should be allowed to market their product as organic.

CLUMPS. The formula can be hard to mix properly without getting clumps. It takes an extra amount of patience and time to mix this formula. The best solution I have found is to mix the formula in Dr. Brown's Formula Mixing Pitcheror use a handheld formula mixer such as the Prince Lionheart Versa Formula Mixer when making one bottle at a time. This way I do not get the bubbles that form from vigorous shaking.

Although the EB formula is not perfect, it is the most affordable organic formula made on the market. However, if it is within your means, you may want to do a little bit of research on Baby Only formula.

Buy Earth's Best Organic Now

This product's ingredient profile on the Earth's Best website does not list "Syrup Solids"; however, buyers should be aware that the formula has recently changed to now include this ingredient. Their website has not yet been updated to reflect this (as of 7/18/2010).

I spoke with their consumer relations department and asked them to update their website since the misinformation is misleading to consumers. The change in ingredient profile to include syrup solids is disappointing. I am now researching other formulas.

My wife and I thought we were doing our baby a favor by going organic. We switched from Similac to this formula and it's hard to say if the issues we had were because of this formula....after a 10 day half and half schedule we noticed less pooping and violent screaming after eating. Since this is our first two kids (twins) we can't say if it's the formula but something didn't seem right. Then a friend emailed about the controversy of the synthetic additives in this formula...do your own research, but we have since switched to Baby's Only (too early to tell if it's cured the issues) and we feel better we have steered clear of the fact we might be doing more harm than good. So frustrating! Here is some info to help in your research.

Seems are some issues with DHA/ ARA additives.

EB's Ingredient List below... have you looked at Baby's Only?

Earth's Best: Earth's Best is the leading organic baby food manufacturer. The company is owned by Horizon (which is owned by Dean Foods ) and offers both dairy and soy based organic infant formulas. Earth's Best uses organic lactose from cows, so if you are concerned about your baby having problems with lactose intolerance, this formula might not be the best option.

Baby's Only: Baby's Only from Nature's One comes as both dairy, lactose free, and soy organic formulas. Baby's Only uses brown rice syrup, a higher quality and more complex carbohydrate, when compared to lactose. It's also less likely to cause an blood sugar spikes or problems with food allergies.

Gerber Graduates Fruit Splashers - Apple Berry RTD, 40.5-Ounce (Pack of 4)

Gerber Graduates Fruit Splashers - Apple Berry RTD, 40.5-OunceMy daughter asks for juice often, so it was important to me that I find a low-sugar juice for her. I'm not sure how vitamin-rich these are (I'll have to check), but they have a lower sugar quantity than other juices I've bought at the grocery store. I took a sip and did not like this drink, but my toddler loves it! Works for us!

Green Eats 2 Pack Plates

Green Eats 2 Pack Plates, OrangeI was looking for some plates to use for adults and ordered two of these in yellow. I was disappointed with them. The plates are ugly and awkwardly designed -big, thick, and bulky. They look like very large-sized children's plates, where you would want something indestructible but don't care about attractiveness. If you want an alternative to melamine plates, this is an option, but it won't be attractive.

These are way too big for a toddler. They'd be good for adults camping or picnics but I'd need a snack size for my kiddo. These are bigger than the plates I use for my dinner every night!

I love these plates! My 19 month old daughter has a habit of tossing her plates and bowls when she's done eating and these won't break. They've held up well in the dishwasher and have only scratched slightly from cutting food on them. Haven't stained from tomato sauces and food doesn't stick to them.

Munchkin Fresh Food Freezer Cups

Munchkin Fresh Food Freezer Cups, Colors May VaryPricey for what it does.

Storage/space issues: For a cramped freezer or refrigerator, this 4-cup tray is fine. The oz., ml and tsp measurements etched onto the silicone cups could be useful. The uppermost marks etched on the sides of the cup are 2oz., 60ml. and 12tsp. For my 7-month-old who started solids only a month ago, these cups hold more than enough food for each meal; he only stomachs about 1oz of food after having his fill of breastmilk.

Storage uses: I've used these for defrosting and storing individual servings of pureed food that's been frozen in cubes. I haven't tried freezing food with these yet, but it is nice to know that I can. The Munchkin packaging recommends that you "remove lids and fill cups with baby food. Insert cups into tray and place tray in freezer. To thaw, let stand in refrigerator." It's not clear that you can screw the lids back on before putting the filled cups into the freezer. Maybe there's a concern that the expansion of the baby food in the freezer will cause the lids to pop out and wreck the threads. I don't know.

Cleaning/maintenance: For those lucky enough to have a dishwashing machine, these are dishwasher safe, top rack only. The three parts can be washed separately. The silicone cup easily pops out of the white collar, and the lid unscrews. Bits of food that somehow get stuck in the crevices can be cleaned off this way. The cup openings are wide enough for me to clean using bottle brushes, or soft sponges. As for staining issues, I've stored pureed avocado, parsnips, and butternut squash, and so far, the silicone, white collar and lids remain clear. When my kid moves onto beets, I'll update my review on the staining issue.

Transporting (i.e., any leakage?): The lids screw on tightly, very tightly if you want. There is an arrow (and the word "close") on the lid indicating how tightly you can screw the cup shut, but I never screw the lids on that much because I'd have a hard time unscrewing them back open. I've stored purees only in these so far. Nothing's leaked despite being lax about transporting them upright or across smooth roads.

However, there is a slight leakage risk: If you fill them with liquid only, the tight lids don't prevent leaks. I noticed they do leak a little bit when they're shaken vigorously. It looks like liquid seeps out when the silicone cup is not carefully positioned into the white collar (there are two tiny notches to guide the fitting of these two components). If you squeeze the silicone cups which is easy to do since the material is so pliable you could inadvertently cause the cup to detach from the white collar and thus, the liquid to leak.

Serving: These cups are about the right size for me to hold in one hand while the other hand spoons the food out or wipes away messes. They're soft and grip-able too, so if my baby had less of a knack for flinging things across the room, he might be able to hold onto these cups and feed himself without splattering his poor old mom. However, even if he were to fling these cups across the room, nothing would shatter. My heart might shatter at the sight of him throwing away the food I slaved in the kitchen to make, but that doesn't reflect on this product's construction.

Other notes on materials and construction: BPA free, and although I know the cup is made of silicone, the packaging doesn't say what the white collar or lid is made of. The silicone cups are clear enough for me to see what's inside and how much of it is left (or how defrosted the baby food puree is), although it would be nice if the lid had a clear window so I can quickly see the contents from the top. If you care about where this product was manufactured, this product is made in China.

Price: Minus one star due to the cost of this product. For this price, I wish these cups were entirely leak-proof or that they'd come in batches of six. Or both! The price is a major factor keeping me from buying another set right now. The other factor is I'm eyeing a similar product that will be released soon by OXO.

I don't usually write reviews but needed to for this product. I purchased 4 of these (16 cups total) to freeze my homemade baby food. This product is exactly what i was looking for. It's very durable (even in the freezer) and holds 2oz per container. When my son was 6 months old, I would use 2 feedings per container (1oz each). I thought purchasing 1oz containers was a waste since I knew I would eventually need 2oz per feed. Now that he's 7 months old, we use the whole container during a feed. Its plastic container is bendable so it allows you push and "pop out" the frozen food easily and store them in freezer bags. I have various food frozen in my freezer labeled in ziplock bags and when I'm running low on a particular fruit or vegetable, I whip up some more and freeze them in the containers again.

The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was because the food was difficult to pop out at times. Leaving them on the counter for 5 minutes solved this problem and when making 'thicker' foods like sweet potato, I felt it was difficult to clean after being frozen for a few nights.

I have tried many food containers and I'm most please with this one. One more note, make sure not to fill them too high because the lid will often freeze onto the food which makes turning the lid to open them difficult. :) Overall, I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to my friends! A great product for storing homemade baby food in the freezer or on the run!

I make my own baby food. These work great for portion storing bc of the measuring lines. Not so great for warming up food, even in a cup of warm water. As someone else stated they stain at the first sign of Sweet potatoes, carrots... most babies first foods. I tried everything to get then clean, even washing them in boiling vinegar. For the price of approximately 2.5 a container, I would expect these not to stain.

Read Best Reviews of Munchkin Fresh Food Freezer Cups Here

Maybe a little expensive for my budget, but I'm very happy with my purchase! The size is perfect for baby's first foods, they close well, are easy to use and clean. The only issue I found is that some foods stain the silicone, so if it bothers you, keep that in mind. I've done it with carrot puree, the silicone yellowed. I can see tomatoes do it as well, in case you plan to use them to save your remaining tomato paste.

We bought these with both the pink and the blue lids. We make our own baby food so they get used on a daily basis, and after 4 months of use I am very happy with them. I love that they can go from the freezer to the fridge and I especially love that they're durable and don't break if dropped. The size is perfect for the 'stage 1' foods since the portions are typically just 2 oz (the same size as these containers) and once our baby bumped up in portion size we just started using 2 of these containers for a single feeding. And the containers are small enough to where having to take multiple containers for a feeding doesn't cause a problem when traveling since they don't take up that much more room in the cooler.

My only con with this product is the screw on lid sometimes it doesn't seem to 'catch' properly and I'll think I'll have screwed it on tightly, but it turns out that it's not. I wouldn't consdier this a huge problem, however. After the first time or two, I just became more aware of it and made extra sure it gets tightened properly and it hasn't been a problem since.

Overall, I really like these containers and have recommended them to some friends as well.

Gerber 2nd Foods Organic - Fruits, 2-Count, 3.5-Ounce Tubs (Pack of 8)

Gerber 2nd Foods Organic Pear Blueberry, 2-Count, 3.5-Ounce TubsI usually order the Organic Nature Select Applesauce from Gerber, however I thought that this is the same product, only DHA enhanced. The DHA is derived from Tuna Oil which is not so bad, however it also contains Gelatin, derived from pork, not vegetables!. The product ingredients above does not state that, and is very misleading. I didn't notice this until my 3 year old ate 3 containers of it! I ended up throwing out the rest of the box that was purchased.

It's a nice balance of the fruits. My little one can't wait to have her fruits and it's the perfect size for her to hold in her hands.

Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton Oval Ultra Mini Pad

Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton Oval Ultra Mini PadThis mattress fits perfectly in the stokke sleep mini. It also doesn't have the chemical smell like the foam mattress alternative (which I also have) which really concerned me. It is only one inch thick, but if you compare it to any other bassinet mattress it is exactly what it should be comfortable and safe. newborn babies are not supposed to sleep on a cushy surface, and this mattress is not overly firm. the stokke mini sheets also fit perfectly snug (there is a certain way you need to orient them to fit properly). Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, do not feel that the mattress is overpriced and would recommend this mattress highly over the stokke one.

After reading the other review for this product I almost didn't order it, but am really glad I did. Sure it's only and inch and a half thick, but it seems perfectly comfortable to me. I really wanted to get an organic mattress and this is a much more affordable option than the Natural Mat option. Plus it's covered with food-grade polyethylene, which I wasn't expecting but is actually really nice because you don't have to purchase a waterproof pad unless you want additional coverage. Very happy with the purchase.

PLEASE NOTE! This mattress is only 1 inch thick! I ordered it for our baby because it was organic and was not happy when I got it. Organic or not, it is way over-priced for what you actually get, which is an organic cotton covered, very thin pad. Unless you want your baby to be sleeping like a monk, I would not recommend it. We are returning ours.

Earths Best Organic Teething Biscuits, Barley, 4.6-ounce Boxes(pack of 3)

Earths Best Organic Teething Biscuits, Barley, 4.6-ounce Boxes(pack of 3)My son enjoyed these from about 6 to 9 months. After that he refused them but they worked and let him chew on something while first teething. They smell good but get soggy and slimy looking but that is to be expected. I would recommend but if you have a picky eater you just never know.
