Baby's Only Organic Dairy with DHA & ARA Fromula, 12.7 Ounce

Baby's Only Organic Dairy with DHA & ARA Fromula, 12.7 OunceIf you do a little research, you realize that DHA is key to brain development. You're already there, I know. you take fish oil or at least want your baby to have the benefit of all of those good fatty acids, yes?

Well so did I.

I fed my little one for 6 months Earths Best (the best, right?) Organic (nothing but the best) DHA fortified (see above) formula. Then I learned this. Every one of the formulas out there, organic and non organic, that is adding DHA to the formula, is using DHA sourced grown algae that is fed GMO soy. Soy. GMO. Are you freaked out yet? Grown in some creepy place -sewer infested waters or a factory... go wild here. Google "Organic Consumer's Association DHA algae" for more.

These unscrupulous companies have managed to get all of this past the organic labeling standards through a sketchy loophole. Perhaps most horrifying is that the DHA harvested from this algae HAS NO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE OF ANY BRAIN AND EYE DEVELOPMENT AS TOUTED ON EVERY CAN OF FORMULA.

This company that makes Baby's Only, while there are still things I disagree with, (They claim this is for toddlers when really they know this is for people in year 1 and this is a marketing push to make them look better.) they:

-test for arsenic in the brown rice syrup (which is double checked by consumer reports and is truly low) -this carb, which is essential for your baby, is a far superior carbohydrate than the glucose (or high fructose corn syrup) in EVERY OTHER BRAND OUT THERE

-uses egg yolks, about as real a food as you can get to in formula, for the DHA

I do wish wish there weren't processed vegetable oils in here. They are almost as scary as the HFC syrup, arsenic, and algae combined.

You can't win them all, and this one is a clear WINNER when the rest are TERRIBLE TERRIBLE losers. Don't hesitate. And really, breathe better, your baby will be eating much better! This is about 10 hours of research or more here!

The final thing: because there are real DHAs in here (i.e fats), and fats, the real ones, not synthetic ones made from algae, do not mix easily with water, you will find shaking this frustrating. Here's how: warm water (or hot, but chill before feeding!), and get a Dr. Brown Pitcher Mixer. It's under 5 minutes for 5 7oz bottles then.

Good luck to you all!

The only organic baby formula with DHA and ARA without hexane gas used in the processing, we could find. We're glad Nature's One addressed this need.

I really like this formula as I wanted something as close to breast milk for my toddler. The only downside was that it is a small can not lasting long.

My baby really likes this formula, he was using similac advance and would balk at the taste. He drinks this right up no hesitation. I love that the dha is from eggs not algae and hexane gas. I do mix it with a mixing pitcher (dr. Browns)

Gerber Good Start Gentle Ready To Feed, Tetra Pack, 8.45 fl oz. (Pack of 24)

Gerber Good Start Gentle Ready To Feed, Tetra Pack, 8.45 fl oz.This formula is amazing! Our son loves it. We hated the idea of giving him powder and then Gerber came out with this Tetra Pack ready to feed formula, which we find much better than other kind of packaging for this type of product (instead of cans or plastic bottles). No constipation at all or fussiness so far. The problem is that this product is hard to find in any supermarket or pharmacy, or if you find it, there is only a small quantity of it. This is something we do not understand, since from our experience, we find that Gerber quality is much better than Enfamil or Similac.

My daughter was on Good Start Gentle before finally moving to Similac Alimentum when her milk protein allergy was diagnosed. After 6 months of spending $500+ on formula, we were given the go ahead to try Good Start again. She struggled with the taste (Alimentum tastes AWFUL and Gerber Good Start is sweet in comparison) at first, but we tried switching her again by giving Good Start as the first bottle of the day and she had no problems. She's been on it for 6 weeks now and has no more gas or fussiness than she did on Alimentum. We love Gerber Good Start!

When she was on Good Start Gentle previously, we used the 8.45 oz cans or the quart-size cans. Neither of those can be found anywhere. The new packing is great and weighs a lot less. I buy it as Babies R Us or Target they always seem to have some in stock, even if it's only the 4-packs ($6.29 at Target!). The 24 pack cases seem to run about $39.99 when they are in stock. Babies R Us has had two specials in a row on them (buy 2, get $10 off instantly; then buy 2, get $15 off instantly), which they honor on multiple purchases in one visit. They also do rainchecks if it's not in stock.

Hopefully Amazon will get some more in stock soon we go through 4 cases a month!

My son seemed to take to this formula well. I was breastfeeding for about 3 months but wanted to transition to formula when I went back to work (no time to pump!). He'll drink both the ready made as well as the powder with no problem with the transition. Also, his poop was very similar to when he was exclusively breastfed.

Before we found Gerber Good Start, we did try Similac Advanced which made his poop very thick and dark. We also tried Enfamil Gentelese and he did not want to drink it. I did taste the three formulas and Gerber Good Start tasted similar to my breastmilk (sorry if that is weird). My doctor said Similac had more sugar in its formula and it seemed thicker than Good Start. Enfamil Gentelese had a weird taste so I understand why my son did not want it.

We love this formula!! We started supplementing with the Gerber Gentle, but our daughter had a bit of an allergy and reflux so we went with the Gerber Soy until she was 5 months. While transitioning back to the Gerber Gentle, we found that the thinness of the powder formula really aggravated her reflux. This ready to feed works so much better for our family! The new packaging means less weight to carry in her diaper bag. I would give it 5 stars if the carton was resealable since she's only drinking about 5 of the 8.45 ounces.

I love this food and my child has had no issues with it. Containers are easy to use.

However I did send it back because it sat on my front step for 2 days in 100 degree plus weather and didn't feel safe using it. So be aware of temps.

1 x Baby Freezer Tray - Perfect for Freezing Baby Sized Portions of Food

1 x Baby Freezer Tray - Perfect for Freezing Baby Sized Portions of FoodThis is exactly what I needed to make easy to thaw baby food. The silicone is sturdy, not wimpy, so it easily transfers from counter to freezer without a tray or any other support. The frozen sticks are easy to pop out and transfer to a freezer bag for batching foods. The portion size is also good for mixing and matching, so as baby eats more solids, you can use one stick of several kinds of food together; for example I mix one stick of apple with one stick of pear for a 2 oz serving of fruit as a variety instead of 2 oz of only apple.

Annabel Karmel Micro Cook Container

Annabel Karmel Micro Cook ContainerI was really excited for this product, because I enjoy making my own baby food. It is really hard to open and takes awhile to cook the food. Ill be returning it and buying a similar product from Pampered Chef.

I purchased this steamer in order to quickly cook vegetables(frozen and fresh). It does its purpose well enough, the veggies are cooked properly in a fast manner. It is easy enough to use, add some water, put in vegetables and pop in the micro for 1-2 minutes, depending on the food.

In using this product I have noticed some negatives.

1)The steamer is difficult to open. This may be due to the fact that it gets very hot. It takes several minutes to pry off the lid after cooking. The plastic get very hot, so I need to run it under cool water just to be able to touch it. Cool water fixes the issue, so its not so bad.

2)It does not come with instructions on how to use it, so first time users may find this frustrating. It was basically trial and error at first, figuring out how much water to put in, and how long to cook. I begin most vegetables at 1 min 30, check, and add more time as needed. A small amount of water covering the bottom seems to do the trick for the steam.

3)It sometimes feels as if I am boiling the vegetables instead of steaming them. I would prefer if there was a raised bottom(with holes for the water to go into), so the vegetables rested above the water instead of directly in it.

As I said, the product does what is is supposed to do. It is not terrible, but it could be better.

My mom bought this item so that I could quickly steam healthy options for my daughter. I trusted the product and used it often. My mistake was that I did not look at the bottom the day I received it. It is Plastic 7 which is the kind that leeches toxic chemicals when it is heated. This is absolutely irresponsible in any children's meal preparation product let alone one that pro-ports healthy eating. I would have rated this a zero but Amazon won't let me.

I bought this on a whim and love it for steaming frozen veggies and fresh broccoli. I have used it several times a week for at least two years.

add water to just cover the bottom, fill with veggies... my frozen brocolli turn perfect in 2 min, fresh carrots 1 1/2 min... after two min it does help if you hold it under running cold water, it gets hot ( dah...). and one more thing, i cooked for toddlers and grownups. it holds perfect two portions. for one year old baby steemed food would be a little crunchy.. i'm glad i gave it a try after reading negative reviews.

Tiny Bird - Teething Bling Pendant - Nursing Mom Jewelry

Tiny Bird - Teething Bling Pendant - Nursing Mom JewelryMy son is teething, and conventional silicone/ rubber/plastic/ fluid filled teething toys are not working for him, even famous Soffee the Giraffe. Then I noticed that he really loved chewing on wooden toys. I decided to get him a wooden teether, and came across this lovely bird pendant. The seller, Barin Toys, makes wooden toys from alder wood. They are not treated with anything, no fillers, no lacquer. They recommend disinfecting their toys in a pot of boiling water for 2 minutes before giving them to a baby (just as you would disinfect a pacifier.)

I decided to get the pendant because I have been curious about nursing mom's jewelry, and hated the look of silicone beads everyone is selling now. This pendant seemed like an ideal solution.

I am really happy with it. The pendant has a very smooth finish, especially on the edges, and the size is great, not too large or too small. The bird silhouette is cute. I wear it 24 hours a day! My son holds it while he nurses, instead of repeatedly snapping my bra, which was very annoying. He loves to chew on it. I like that it is always with me, so I can occupy my son any time, especially while we are out.

The pendant is pretty and stylish, it doesn't look like a teether. I have gotten quite a few compliments on it. The best part about it? I will continue to wear it even after my son no longer needs it. His little toothmarks on the wood will always remond me of this great time. I would highly recommend this pendant.

It arrived within a few days of ordering, when I expected it to take much longer via standard mail. The bird is just how it is described, with only sanded edges, no stains or anything else. The thickness of the bird is just right for my baby to chew, it is very slim. I'm happy with the string too since my baby likes to chew on the string just as much as the bird. It's so convenient to have a teether on a necklace! Especially one made of untreated wood.

I just bought this, and the heart shaped pendant (same company) for my 7-month old twins. I bought them because they want to eat my regular necklaces. This is a pretty piece of jewelry, my boys enjoy playing with the shape when I'm holding them, it fits nicely in their hand (probably about 3 inches from beak to tail) and I guess it feels nice on their sore gums because they like chewing on it. They are cutting their two top teeth, and everything goes right in their mouth. No faces, so I guess the taste is good. They also enjoy turning the necklace around and playing with the tied end, that would normally go behind my neck. This is also a godsend for nursing; I tandem-feed them, and they are constantly poking at eachother's faces, so this gives them something to play with while they're eating. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this.
