Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton Changing Pad

Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton Changing PadI had to REALLY convince my husband that this changing pad was worth the price. He's now 100% convinced. Our baby loves to hang out on the changing pad. We don't know why, but every once in a while he will get fussy and we put him on this to calm him down. I'm not suggesting that the pad will calm other babies. However, since our little one spends so much time on the changing pad, we are so glad that there aren't any nasty pthlates, PVC, or other bad stuff in it. It gives us peace of mind to know that he's not breathing any of that in while he's laying there.

This pad is much firmer than the cheaper contour pads made of foam. It is made from higher quality materials and I am confident it will last much longer than the cheaper pads. It is pricey pad but well worth the $ especially if your kid is like mine and spends a good chunk of their day on the changing table.

My wife and I bought this because the other "Natural" changing pad we bought had a powerful chemical smell that didn't dissipate even with a few days of airing out. We are very pleased that this one has no odor and seems to really live up to its description. It is well-made with heavy stitching, rugged fabric, and good straps and table-mounting screws. However, one downside is that the core of this pad is basically just a pad of polypropylene (plastic) tubes filled with air. I'm not worried about durability or anything, but compared to the foam pad that smelled bad, this one has a lot less structure. It would have been better in my opinion if it had a stiffer back and more cotton stuffing to make the scooped shape a little more pronounced.

I initially gave this only 4 stars, but then I realized that to do so would pull its rank down, and in my opinion this is still better than those foam pads that get 4+ stars, so I'll give it a 5 and just leave these pros and cons in the review. Otherwise people who sort by rating will miss this pad, and my rating will have therefore been counter-productive.

Sturdy, organic and waterproof. Love that it has mounting attachments to the back of the changing table for safety. It doesn't have a non-slip bottom but I used the safety attachments and rubber shelf liner and it doesn't move an inch. I love that it is long as it will last for quite a while. I also like the banked sides.

High quality, comfortable. We've only used it for 5 weeks, but so far we like it a lot, and it feels good knowing that it doesn't contain flame retardants.

Philips AVENT BPA Free Breast Milk Storage Set

Philips AVENT BPA Free Breast Milk Storage SetThese bottles can be attached to the Lansinoh Double Electric Breast Pump 1 Count using the Avent Breastpump Conversion Set. You pump straight into the bottle that your husband or babysitter uses for feeding your baby. No fats and/or vitamins lost during the transfer of contents from bags or other containers. I chose this bottles because they are BPA free.

I switched to Avent from Playtex drop ins. I had 1 Avent bottle and i noticed my son took to the nipple, so i bought a few more and after a few weeks i noticed he NEVER spit up anymore. So i made the complete switch and i even bought an Avent ISIS iq double pump too. Best decision i have ever made.

Now the thing i noticed, is the Avent bottles that have the 1 piece and even the ones with the 2 piece anti-colic valves tend to sometimes leak... even when done correctly! My son would get halfway through a bottle and all of a sudden it would just leak! drives me crazy!

I dont know if its just luck or not, but these have not leaked at all!!!!!!!!! I make sure i use these instead of the regular 4ox or 9oz bottles. these in my opinion are waaaay better!!!

UPDATE 12/27/2010: Recently had a few minor leaks, minor because i caught them at the beginning of the leak. I dont know what it is with avent... its not at the beginning of the feeding, but more towards halfway through! The ring is not too tight, but tight enough... its leaked with new AND used nipples, and yes, they ARE snapped in correctly, and i read a trick to make sure the vents are where the rings are on the collar, and it still does not help. But my son loves the bottles.

I recently started to use the born free bottles... and the avent nipple fits in the collars! These are still perfect for storage, but if i am going out i transfer to born free.

I've used these several times now--and they don't leak. I can shake breastmilk as vigorously as I want--there is still no leakage. They are also easy to clean--wish the mouth was a little wider so that my hand can get inside, but it is wide enough (46 mm inner diameter) and short enough (4 0z bottle is 82 mm from interior base to top of lip) that I can get a sponge in there without a struggle, making a bottle brush unnecessary. This is the cheapest, non-disposable, volumetric, BPA-free, wide-mouth milk storage solution that I have found--perfect for taking expressed milk to daycare. I liked these so much that I just bought more. Note that these bottles are a little honey tinged, but that is just a property of the BPA-free plastic that Avent uses.

I got a couple of these sets when my baby started solids. I made her food and froze them in these bottles so I could just take one out and put it into the Avent food heater and serve. Very convenient. no leaks. Works very well with the Avent system since the pieces are interchangeable. Baby's food stayed fresh in the freezer until eaten. Happy baby. happy mommy.

I purchased these bottles for my son's daycare use since they reheat the bottles. They work just as well as the regular Avent bottles except they have the slight yellow tint to them so that you can tell them apart. I picked this set over other BPA-free Avent sets b/c I didn't need the nipples I just needed the bottles. I like having the extra sealing discs, though. I was unable to find these in a store, so Amazon was a great option.

Baby Mum-Mum Vegetable Flavor Rice Biscuit, 24-pieces (Pack of 6)

Baby Mum-Mum Vegetable Flavor Rice Biscuit, 24-piecesLOVE the product. Was very disappointed that the expiry date was only 9 weeks away. I thought bulk purchasing was the way to go but there's no way I'd want my 9 month old to get through 12 boxes of these in such a short period of time! Makes me wary of buying bulk again.

My husband and I came from Taiwan and have been living in the US for over 15 years. Normally we only buy Chinese snacks that are brand names and made in US or Taiwan. However, I was very glad to find this product in Amazon even though I just bought it today and haven't yet received it. I do know "Hot Kid" very well and used to have it for snack growing up in Taiwan. It was one of my few favorite snacks made by a well reputed Taiwanese company. I trust this brand just as I do General Mills or Kraft. It was already a major food company in Taiwan back then and "rice rusk" was the most popular product. Now, this company has made its way to becoming one of the three biggest food companies in China. Interesting enough, these three companies are all Taiwanese companies. I think the main reason is that people in China do not trust their own brands. I believe that "Hot Kid"is a quality food product. I think the worry is overdone and the red flag is unnecessary. My son is 7 months now and it was a pleasing surprise to have found this product in US.

These are so awesome. My daughter likes them and they are so much more cost effective than the gerber greaduate crunchers. I hope they get them back in stock. We've done both the veggie and plain and prefer the veggie.

after reading all the reviews, I thought this is a good to buy, after it arrived, I gave it to my son who is 7 month old, but he doesnt like it at all. Then I found out it is too dry for his mouth. I tried it by myself, the taste is ok, no suger taste which is great. It reminds me what I had when I was little back to china. However, I can find the same stuff in a nearby chinese store for much cheaper price. If you have any chinese store nearby, I dont see any reason to have it for this expensive price.

These are great for little ones who are just started to get teeth or are new to eating solids. These crackers sort of just dissolve in your mouth. I was always nervous about chunks breaking off of the hard teething biscuits. These were a snack I could give without any concern at all. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because the sugar content is a bit high.

Also, we ordered a case from Amazon in April that expires in the beginning of August which is coming upon us quickly. I don't know if these have a short "life expectancy" or if Amazon had them sitting around a while. The product isn't stale or anything it's just a case is a lot to go through in just a few months.

Organic Cotton Oval Bassinet Mattress Pads

Naturepedic Organic Cotton Bassinet Oval PadThe bassinet we have for our baby is one we received from friends who used it for all of their kids. The mattress, or pad, it came with was flimsy and made of foam. This mattress is perfect. I did not have any size issues since I actually measured my bassinet before ordering to make sure it was the right fit. The mattress fits great, is firm but, not rock hard and has a built-in protector for spit-up or other accidents. I love that it is organic, so no need to worry about what chemicals your baby is inhaling.

I purchased this mattress while it was on sale for a Moses basket. I don't like the foam mattress that was in the Moses basket because of the toxins that could be in it. I'm so happy the measurements are correct. It fits perfectly in it. I'm so extremely happy about that! :-)

I bought this mattress because I hated the idea of my newborn sleeping on foam. Generally stinky foam that was still off-gassing. This mattress worked really well and I bought the crib mattress from them as well. I didn't worry about it. It is organic with a coat of food grade polyethylene. Worked for me.

I love this Naturepedic mattress for my baby's bassinet. Naturepedic is one of the only organic mattress companies I trust and they have delivered with this mattress as well! It fits great and is much more padded than the other toxic one. Plus, there are no fumes and no harmful chemicals!

When I purchased a bassinet for my daughter, I did not like the flimsy mattress that came with the bassinet. I began to look for a new mattress for the bassinet and found this. Make sure you measure the bassinet before ordering this item. I did and it fits well. A friend of mine didn't and it doesn't fit her bassinet.

After 2 1/2 months of continuous use, the mattress is still holding up well. It is starting to take on my daughter's impression. It would be nice to "flip it" to even out the wear and tear on it but it does not appear that that will work. Hence the four stars.

The price has gone down since I purchased my bassinet too.

All in all this is a good mattress for the price and is a much better option than the standard flimsy mattress that usually comes with a bassinet.

Fabrikators Toddler 3-Piece Set

Fabrikators Toddler 3-Piece Set, OrangeI got these off of WOOT and I'm going to get another set! My gd is mildly autistic and she can use these better than regular spoon and fork .... mainly because you hold them differently....."scooping" the food is much easier.... and I think it will help her ease into a regular fork and spoon..:>)

I got my first set off of Woot and decided to buy a second one. We haven't used the knife with either one, but the fork and spoon work well for my little guy who is 22 months.

These are really designed to help out us Moms. You know how hard to grip so much baby flatware is? This is the perfect size for babies' hands, and has a wonderful non-slip grip so food doesn't end up all over the floor. The scoops have space for just the right sized bite. The knife poses no danger but actually cuts through eggs, french toast, and other foods that I feed the kids. This is well-worth the investment. They are so well made you can pass them on to the next generation!

Boon Benders

Boon Benders Adaptable Utensils, Cherry/Berry CreamThese are a good size as far as length and handle circumference. I also like that the ends are bendable to adjust to children who tend to eat with their left or right hand. Now for the flaws that make them a poor product, in my opinion...The size of the spoon and fork ends renders them almost unusable. The spoon scoop is so small and shallow that food doesn't stay in the spoon. The fork has been designed down to be 'safe' so that it can't actually stab anything. My son enjoyed carrying these around (they fit nicely in his hands). But he rarely was successful in eating with the assistance of these that they really didn't do anything to advance his skills. We ditched them after just a few uses. Also, the soft rubber (silicone?) piece around the outer part of the utensils is peeling away. I don't know if my son picked at it, but they weren't used many times and are already showing signs of damage. For reference my son was using these when he was about 14-15 months old and really just starting to try to use utensils.

If your baby is big enough to be using utensils himself/ herself, then these are too small. These were great for my baby before age one when I was feeding him and he was just playing with the utensils, but after he was attempting to use them to feed himself, the heads of these were too frustratingly small. He wanted more on the spoon/fork than these will hold. They're about the size of a dime.

I'd say it's useful if you're trying to get your 8-12 month old to hold a spoon/fork himself, but after that, it's not useful.

In the picture they look bigger, but the surface area is MAYBE the size of a nickel..and it's really shallow. So by the time my lil one brings the food to his mouth..it's fallen off.

I bought a whole bunch of toddler-sized utensils for learning purposes. These are the favorite so far.

size: people complain they're small, but let me tell you... my toddler can get a huge, messy bite onto this spoon and, slowly but surely, is successfully getting that bite to her mouth. The spoon is shallow, but we're still working mostly with foods that stick to the spoon a little, like yogurt, applesauce and the like.

safety: she can explore fork function without any risk of actually stabbing things or herself. Mostly she places bits of fruit onto the fork part.

bendability: these not only bend left/right but up/down so they've been great for helping her figure out how to feed herself.

quality/durability: despite the low cost, they're very nicely made and are holding up well. Once she figured out she could bend them herself, there were a few days when the spoon got very abused but it's no worse for wear.

She will grow out of them quickly, yes, because they are so small. But for a real beginner set these were worth the money.

Great concept but like some others reviews say, they're simply too small. You can barely put any food in the spoon cuz it's very shallow. It's probably only good for eating very sticky/condensed things like mashed potatoes. And the spork is more like a spoon with slits in it. I wouldn't buy this for my child to learn to eat with because it will just cause a lot of frustration...
