Crocodile Creek Snack Keeper Sets

Crocodile Creek Snack Keeper SetsI purchased 2 of these for my kids' lunches. We use them EVERY day. They hold up well and my kids have NO trouble opening them. I usually put black olives or berries in this container, the size is perfect. I wish they would come in solids without a print as my older kids don't want the cutesy princess or whatever. The robot was the least offensive to them. I hand wash at the end of each day and they are ready to go again.

These snack containers are so cute and just the right size for a toddler or preschooler-sized snack. There's only one problem...a toddler or preschooler will be unable to open the container! Even this preschooler's mom has trouble opening it without tipping it, and once there's a snack in it, tipping it can make the snack fall out. Snack keeper is a good name, since if you want to keep your snacks off the floor, you'll need to keep them in the container...permanently.

I"m going to send a note to crocodile creek with this feedback...it'll be interesting to hear what they have to say. Surely these things were tested before they were released, so I can't imagine how no one noticed how nearly impossible they are to open!

Addendum: I just put some big pretzels (should try goldfish for a better test) in the container and asked my 4 year old to open it for me. He's pretty good with little fidgety things, and he was able to hold it down on the table securely with one hand and open the latch with the other. (He's had the container for a few days, so he may have figured it out over time) It was hard for him and I suspect that there will be times that his hands will slip and the container and snacks will go flying. So I'm adding one more star, but I still hope the company will redesign these so the closure is easier to operate.

Right after I reviewed these, we went out to run an errand at a local store. I took some snacks with us and out them in one of these containers. It broke In half in my hands! Very upset abut this as we just bought these. We are now down to one, and I don't know if I want to buy anymore of these.

Vulli Chan Pie Gnon and Sophie the Giraffe Set

Vullie Sophie Giraffe and Pie Pink - Natural Rubber and Food Paint Details Set of 2My 5 month old daughter LOVES her Sophie the Giraffe toy! This toy is absolutely wonderful in every way. Sophie is made of soft rubber and makes a pleasant-sounding squeak whenever any part of her body is squeezed, so even a young baby can elicit a reaction from the toy with minimal effort.

I don't know what it is about Sophie, but whenever my daughter plays with her, she gets very vocal and talkative.

I saw another review which referred to this toy as "a glorified dog toy". That reviewer is mistaken, and simply doesn't realize the value of this toy.

Sophie's body, while soft, has several areas of thicker rubber (the nubs on her head, her ears, and her feet) which are perfect for teething babies to gnaw on for relief.

Sophie's contrasting colors (spots) are visually stimulating to a baby.

She is easy to grip given her long, thin neck.

This toy is made of 100% natural rubber and uses food-grade paint (SAFE!).

This is a quality baby toy which will last for many years.

I would much rather pay $20 for a safe, engaging toy for my baby, than pay $5 for some piece of junk with lead paint.

My daughter is almost 4 months old and starting to gum everything. She mostly wanted my fingers. I tried a couple other teethers, and she really didn't have much interest. That's when I started researching. I came across Sophie the Giraffe. The reviews were outstanding, so I thought I would give it a shot. I came across this double pack at Amazon that included Sophies cousin (that's what we call her). I am so glad we did. Every time I show her Sophie, she beams! She loves both of them. Pie is a bit smaller than Sophie. I was pleasantly surprised how soft they are. Baby can squeak them with ease. You won't be disappointed. Plus Sophie has been around since 1961. I look forward to buying Emerson more Vulli toys.

Turns out, they heard the products were damaged in route and sent knew items. They also gave me a discount for the time it took. Wonderful customer service!!

I read a lot of reviews before buying these. Believe all the positive reviews. These two are the best teething toys a baby could have. They have bright faces so the baby loves to look and smile at them. They are soft and easy to hold, even with those babies just starting to grab. Sophie and Pie Pink will be your baby's favorites!

I purchased this set for my daughter 3 years ago when she was a baby. She didn't care for them and also she constantly made herself gag with the long legs of the giraffe (this sounds funny writing it down.. ) so I gave both away.. Thinking that all babies are different I purchased another set for my son (when he started teething excessively) a couple of months ago but he doesn't care for them either! Same issue also.. giraffe's legs make him choke.. I guess they are not for everyone..

Plan Toys Assorted Fruits and Vegetables (Solid Wood Version)

Plan Toys Assorted Fruits and VegetablesWe got this Plan Toys set to go with our daughters' 'Hape' play kitchen this Christmas. I'll admit I'm a little spoiled by the appearance and size of the food that came with the Hape kitchen. It's ever-so-slightly larger than the Plan Toys food, and just a little prettier.

However, I rate Plan Toys 5 stars for the fact that I honestly believe their products to be safe, and more importantly, I don't think the kids will have my overly picky aesthetic taste. These will play just as well as our other foods, and far better than our Haba foods which are so darn small I'm not even sure I trust the 4-year-old unsupervised with them. Too, I like the water-based stains, and the way you can actually see the wood grain beneath them. Also, I'm in love with the way that the wood is sanded to a perfect texture. They really have a thrilling tactile thing going for them.

The one thing I wish I'd been able to locate before purchasing these was the size of each individual piece, so I took the time and measured (as well as I could, given the awkward shapes) in case someone else wants to know.

The tray is about 7.5" x 10.5"

The (uncut) foods are as follows:

apple: 1.8" x 2"

lemon: 2" x 1.2"

banana: 3.25" x .8" (at widest point)

pear: 2.5" x 1.8"

orange: 1.8" x 1.8"

mushroom: 1.5" x 1.25"

carrot: 3.5" x .8"

cucumber: 3" x 1"

The only piece that strikes me as being a definite choking hazard is the carrot. The top portion, especially, is quite small when divided in half. This one will have to be supervised, or maybe put away for a while, since our youngest isn't out of the mouthing phase yet. The cucumber, and lemon may be possible hazards that way too because the sizes are halved when the items are cut up.

Last, it seems worth mentioning that the velcro could have been applied more effectively. I had to give the soft side of the velcro a "haircut" just so the pieces would fit snugly against one another rather than sort of dangle and look ridiculous. Thankfully, this was a suitable solution, but it seems the velcro could have been more deeply seated, or of a higher quality or something of this sort.

All in all, with so few truly safe play food options out there, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this one again. I'm actually quite happy with it, and I think the kids will get a thrill out of it Christmas morning.

This toy is by far my 18 month old daughter's favorite. Not only is it extremely cute and well made, but it focuses her attention on a task cutting the vegetables. After she slices them she puts them back together and I see her experiment to find the correct halves to match up. This toy engages her mind while also helping her develop the fine motor skills necessary to do the activity. She doesn't use them so much as a prop for imaginative play yet, but I think that they will be a fantastic addition to her play kitchen in another year or so. I have since purchased other items by Plan Toys and have so far been impressed with all of them.

My 2 year old daughter received this as a gift. She loves the bright colors and that she is able to "cut" the fruits and vegetables. I love wooden, non-toxic, and durable toys that offer imaginative play. The down side to this particular "cutting" set is that the velcro, which sticks the two pieces of vegetable or fruit together, wears very quickly. In a matter of months, withstanding moderate play, our fruits and veggies don't stick together very well anymore.

I love the Plan Toys line of pretend play food products because they are eco-friendly, made of wood, and non-toxic. Excellent quality, well-made with smooth surfaces, and don't feel heavy. I bought this set to go along with Plan Toys' meat set, and breakfast set. Just the right size for little hands. My 2 year old son LOVES them! He no mouths things but because of the choking hazard I make sure he's not left unattended when he plays with this. We enjoy cutting it all up and piecing them together correctly, as well as practicing counting and color skills along the way.

I wanted to buy our 21 month old some pretend food for Christmas, but I wanted it to be safe, wooden and something that would hold her interest. She chose to play with this set longer than any of her dolls or other toys on Christmas day which surprised me. She was very interested in learning to "cut" the food as well as serving us pieces. She still spends time each day with her fruits & veggies. I think it does a great job of stimulating kids' imagination.

Happy Baby Organic Puffs Apple -- 2.1 oz

Happy Baby Organic Puffs Apple -- 2.1 ozHappy Baby Puffs were my babies' very first finger food and they continue to be a favorite in our house. I love that they are completely free of artificial ingredients and that they are lightly sweetened with apple juice rather than sugar. I haven't found another puff or cereal product out there that compares health and taste wise. They make a very easy and healthy snack, even now that my kids are toddlers.

Happy Creamies Organic Veggie and Fruit Snacks with Coconut Milk

Happy Creamies Organic Veggie and Fruit Snacks with Coconut Milk,, 1 OunceAll parents know that toddlers are on the go constantly and getting them to STOP to eat is extremely difficult. I love giving my daughter, who is almost 18 months, HappyCreamies because they are made with Coconut milk with added veggies! The more research the benefits of coconut milk, the more I want to make sure that is added into my child's diet. The bag is also extremely lightweight which makes it super easy to take on the go. To be honest, I find myself snacking on these too. 5 stars all the way!

Our baby loves these... I also love that they are dairy free. They have a great taste and are easy for baby to pick up.

My daughter has a milk allergy. We figured this out around 9 months, after she was thoroughly attached to yogurt melts. These little guys satiated her love of the yogurt melt sans dairy. I've tasted them, and even though I'm not crazy about freeze-dried texture they taste pretty good. It's awesome that they're healthier than the yogurt melts, too! The texture gets a bit weird if you don't use them within about a week of when you open the package, but it says to eat them soon "for freshness" so I can't complain. Just a bit pricey!

Earth's Best TenderCare Chlorine Free Baby Wipes Refills, 30-Count Packages (Pack of 24)(720 Wipes)

Earth's Best TenderCare Chlorine Free Baby Wipes Refills, 30-Count Packages(720 Wipes)Received these as a shower gift for baby no. 4 (so I've seen some wipes in the past!). I'm using cloth diapers and wipes, so almost gave them away, but decided to take them on vacation and try them out since laundry facilities were harder to come by. These wipes are awesome! They don't have any sort of smell, chemical or otherwise, they're very very soft, and after having used them on his face, hands, and diaper area, Mr. Eczema had no issues. I bought the travel size in bulk since I'll still use cloth wipes almost all the time, but these are super for when we're out or when laundry falls by the wayside.

We love the Earth's Best TenderCare Chlorine Free Baby Wipes themselves and give them 5 stars

BUT when you buy them using this bulk offer you get the travel size packs which do not thread when placed in an existing wipes container, ie: when you pull one out the next one does not follow it and then you are stuck trying to get the top of the wipes container off and then trying to find where the wipe starts all whist trying to keep your squirming baby on the changing table!

We would buy these wipes again but not using this bulk travel size offer.

I love that these are non-toxic and the size of these packages is perfect to keep in your purse or diaper bag without adding too much weight or bulk. I normally use the Lansinoh wipes, but bought these to use while out. Only negative for me--For some reason the wipes leave a foamy residue when you use them (which dries quickly). I'm not crazy about that since it seems the excess liquid and "soap" make diaper rash more likely and also make me uneasy about using to clean the baby's hands and toys since he'll put them in his mouth. Even though these are non-toxic, I do wish there wasn't so much residue for him to potentially ingest.

my only complaint is that these are a little sudsy. but they are very very soft, like pampers sensitive wipes. i am happy to use a product that is safe for the environment.

Gerber Graduates Mealtime Organizer

Gerber Graduates Mealtime Organizer, Colors May VaryThe color is random, so we got blue and it matches my daughter's backpack.

I got this container after seeing a similar one at pottery barn kids. This one is less expensive, but actually looks better in person (and more functional). It doesn't look childish in any way and can easily be used as a lunchbox insert or on it's own. The container perfectly fits inside the standard lunch box (it's easier for my 1st grader to carry around and lunchboxes are insulated too). One of the departments has a leak proof lid though I have never tried putting liquid in it since I prefer to use the Thermos Foogo for soups and such. It works good for pasta with sauce though. I've made a mistake by putting in hot pasta once. Don't do it. The lid "sucks in" and it's impossible for little hands to open.

P.S. Dishwasher safe, BPA free and lead free

I bought this container for my daughter when she started kindergarten. I looked at many different containers, and none of them were what I was looking for...then I found this one!

My daughter is five years old so I wanted something that would have an easy lid for her to take off, but also be able to securely snap the lid back down this was the only container I could find like that and it has worked great! When she opens her lunchbox, she just keeps the container inside the lunchbox and flips the lid open. She likes it cause she doesn't have to take anything out of her lunchbox and all her food is neatly in front of her and ready to eat. She doesn't have to deal with opening a ton of baggies.

I really like that it comes with a small lid to fit over one of the smaller sections in the container. It has rubber around it so it secures on tightly. I wouldn't trust that lid to keep in liquid, but I always put things like fresh fruit (which of course has some juice), hummus, guacamole, apple sauce, etc. in it and it never leaks into other sections of the container.

Some reviewers have commented about there not being enough room for ice packs or juice boxes. I always put a juice box and two ice packs in the lunchbox, underneath the container. I have used different ice packs with this, but my favorite are flat, plastic ice packs. We use the top compartment for kids-size utensils and napkins. There is also a space on the lid to slide in a picture or note for your child this has been fun for us!

I highly recommend putting this container in a lunchbox! We have never tried sending this to school on it's own and I don't think that would be a good idea with any container. It fits perfectly in our "standard size" rectangular lunchbox.

This container has been perfect for my 5 year old's lunches! This is very reasonably priced, so I didn't mind at all spending a bit of money to try it out. We bought one at Target and loved it so much that we purchased a second one at Wal-mart. (we have both pink and blue. I have no idea why it is listed as red it is definitely pink!)

Great product!!!

I was surprised that this lunchbox is the same size as the laptop lunch bento boxes which are ~9"x9.2"x2.5" (I didn't actually measure it, but I set it on top of the laptop lunch box and it's almost exact.) I assumed for the price and the target age range (and since dimensions aren't published here) that it must be pretty small. It's an amazing deal compared to other bento box-style lunch boxes that go for about 5 times as much. It fits right inside my son's regular lunchbox, and is easy for my preschooler to open we practiced at home :). I like that the top compartment can hold an ice pack, or a longer snack you don't want to get crushed like cereal bars. Since the top compartment opens from the outside, it's also a good spot for "snack" vs. lunch, so kids don't have to open everything up to get their snack out. The main compartment has plenty of room for a full-size sandwich. It's annoying that you can't choose the colors, but I got lucky and received the colors I wanted. I haven't tested the holding power of the lidded compartment yet, where I plan to put the yogurt.

This container is perfect for our daycare needs -it has three sections, including one with an air-tight lid for fruits or vegetables, and a great little area on the top where you can leave a message or picture -and it's dishwasher (top rack) safe. The only drawback is that it's hard to find, and I paid less than half the price offered through Amazon's seller at Walmart, plus no shipping charges. Hopefully Amazon will carry this terrific product soon.

As a first time lunch packer, I wasn't too sure what I was looking for, but didn't want items just rattling around loose in the soft sided lunch box. I ended up with two of the pink boxes and they have worked just fine. I often pack the pureed fruit pouches and the big knobby caps don't really fit well enough for the box to snap shut. On the flip side, sandwiches stay pretty intact. My daughter just turned three and she does have some trouble getting the inside lid off, but I suspect most kids using this will be a bit older.

California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo and Body W

California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo and Body Wash, No Fragrance, 8.5 Ounce BottleEdited January, 27, 2012. I am very unhappy with this product and even more so with the California Baby company. So I am editing my review. Last year, I gave this product 5 stars. The whole family used this Super Sensitive wash since my daughter was a baby and we gave it as gifts as well. I was so impressed with how gentle it was and now SURPRISE!!! Without telling their customers, they have reformulated and added Sodium Benzoate and who knows what else. the company was not upfront about this nor were they about other ingredients in their products. I have just learned this recently. California Baby isn't cheap either, but we were buying a lot of it because we thought it was an excellent product. In the last 4 months, my daughter has developed little dry patches and tiny bumps all over her skin and I never guessed it was the wash. She's had this for months and she's been so itchy. I just put this together last night after seeing an article from a reliable source. I had been throwing away everything else because it never occurred to me that it would be this tried and true sensitive wash. SO now I am tossing ALL the California Baby products; shame and I loved their sunscreen too. Also, even though they added these new cheap ingredients I noticed they didn't lower the cost. Many of us paying for a premium low toxicity product for our families and they did the old switcheroo on us..... very deceptive and dishonest. Also, I don't ever remember CB doing any promotional sales for their customers. Customers don't come first with them. So I will find a new company, that's easy. Dolphin Organics is one that I heard good things about and so is Earth Mama Angel Baby. These two I plan to try soon.

This product is labeled "Super Sensitive" for good reason. It has no fragrance, which is almost impossible to find, even in the natural/organic field. There aren't any weird dies, and all the ingredients that are not in layman's terms have layman's descriptions in parenthesizes. It's such a hot product that it can be hard to find at the health food store, and even on-line. So being able to get it on Amazon is awesome. On top of all that it is tear free which is key with small children.

I have very sensitive skin the old formula was wonderful. They have added thickening agents and emulsifiers, I can only assume to make the product "stretch further" in processing. When I decided to give it a try out of desperation it raised hives on the fingers pulling the seal off! Glad it was my hands, not my head. Another reviewer has recommended Earth Mama Angel Baby, I will try that.

When our son was 2 months old he had contact eczema from baby oil. It started and got very bad within one day. I decided to go natural and got the California baby body lotion from whole food market in the evening and applied it to him before going to bed. I just hoped that it should help reduce the rash. When we woke up it was all gone. At that time it really seemed like a miracle. I applied baby oil in the first place because he was having small white heads kind of acne all over his body when I was aveeno baby body wash and lotion. He didn't get even those ever since I started using the California baby supersensitive body lotion and bodywash. Now he is 3.5months and I tried the regular body lotion from California baby and he doesn't have any reaction to it. I would give 5stars to all the products from this brand.

Prince Lionheart Compact Drying Station

Prince Lionheart Compact Drying StationI bought this in conjunction with the larger, non-collapsing PLH drying rack. I got this one with the intent of holding my pumping equipment and the other to hold bottles. This rack is okay, but I have to admit that I like the other much better. I don't like the lack of drip tray on this, which requires me to keep a towel under it. The biggest problem I have with it is that several of the rods that hold the bottles up are too short to hold 8oz bottles (which is what I pump into). If you are looking to dry a few 4oz bottles or just some basic pumping stuff, it'd be fine, but if you are looking something to do it all, this will fall short.

I wasn't going to buy a bottle drying station, but bought this on a whim. So glad I did. We have limited counter space, so it's perfect because I can put it away in a drawer when it's not in use. And while it is in use, I can put it on a towel on the counter or I can place it on top of our normal dish rack. I use it to dry pump parts and bottles, and it holds everything quite well for me. Obviously this isn't the drying station for you if you have tons of space and don't want something that you have to put a towel under, but for what it's intended to do, it's a pretty darn brilliant design.
