EZ Squeezees Refillable Food pouches

EZ Squeezees Refillable Food Pouches, sold in pack of 3. 3 pouches eachI bought 1 set off Amazon. Than my husband came home with Booginhead Squeez'Ems Reusable Food Pouches cause he said the EZ Squeeze looked cheap to him. So he tested the Booginhead and I tested the EZ Squeeze with our son. So far I "accidently" threw out 1 pouch (I wasn't thinking) so I'm left with 2 now and my son took to them easily. But the Booginhead is messy to fill without a funnel (Im not going to run out and buy there special funnel ) and were down to 1 of the Booginhead cause the one the top kept poppin' off which defeats the purpose of the product. And it has the cap attached to it so my son spends more time playing and making a mess than actually eating. So after 1 1/2 weeks with both pouches the "EZ Squeeze" wins hands down with this mommy.

My baby boy really enjoys feeding himself from pouch feeders. However, these can get pretty pricey in stores, so I was on a mission to find a good, reusable pouch to put homemade baby food or store bought jar baby food in to minimize the price. This is a pretty good product overall!

The Pros:

*This product is really easy to fill. The whole left side opens up with a ziplock type seal, and opens nice and wide so that you can spoon in food quite easily.

*Since the pouch opens up so easily, it is very easy to clean!

*These were very affordable! You earn your money back quite quickly when you consider that one pouch is around $1.50 at the store.

The Cons:

*The pouch is a bit wide for a baby to hold--I don't think it would be a problem for a toddler or older child, but my guy is nine months and it can be a little tough for him to manuever.

*The top of the pouch (where they suck out the food) is also a bit wide, so he would sometimes suck out too much food at once and choke or spit it out. We didn't have this problem with the pouches that are smaller and marketed directly for babies, so I believe it is related to this particular pouch's size.

*It is a cheaper looking product. This didn't bother me, but the product looks like it is made out of the same material as a disposable pouch, which just means it gets beat up looking rather quickly!

Overall, a good bang for your buck and it certainly works. There just may be better products on the market for an infant.

I purchased them directly from the company, but only because they were not offered through Amazon Prime at the time. My 2 year-old has used them almost daily since I received them. I usually fill them with plain yogurt that I have mixed with mashed banana or blueberries since I don't like the added sugars in flavored yogurts simple and he gets some protein and probiotics with the fruit that he would happily eat anyway. He likes eating yogurt out of them and I like that I don't have the mess of eating yogurt with a spoon. He has plenty of opportunities to use a fork and spoon at other meals. They are very easy to fill since they stand up on their own. EZ Squeezees have traveled well on-the-go too. We have had no issues with them leaking at all and they open up wide so they are easy to clean. You can put them in the dishwasher, but you don't even have to. As long as you leave the cap on so the food doesn't dry out, you can pretty much just rinse them with hot soapy water and they're clean. If you don't have one of those little brushes to clean bottles and sippy cups you may want to get one or just have some q-tips handy to clean the inside of the cap and the little nozzle in case any food sticks. There are only 2 improvements I could recommend and they are not that big of a deal: 1) A cute pattern or picture on the front, 2) no-choke caps would be great (the caps on these are small and solid so you'll need to remove them before handing the pouch to a young child). I am now ordering some for a friend's baby shower. I looked at other brands to compare and while some have cute designs and no-choke caps, none of the others I've seen will stand up on their own AND open wide for easy cleaning 2 must-have features in my opinion! And they are BPA and phthalate free.

Update: 05/09/2013 Finally tossed these out :( There was mold growth in the caps which are very difficult for me to clean because theyre so small. For the same reason, they're a choking hazard. After trying to twist the cap on and off, my toddler then put it in her mouth. Lastly, if a toddler sucks too hard on the mouth piece (mold growth / hard to clean there too btw) damage will occur on the gums because the material is too sharp.

Update: so originally I gave 4 stars, but took it down to 3. I tossed a pouch in my diaper bag, went to the library and discovered a mess. I checked to make sure the pouches were closed. They were, but it still leaked. :( Very unhappy that these on the go items have to stay at home.

--------

I saw a posting on Pinterest abou the Little Green Pouches so I looked for a cheaper version. I found Yummi Pouches, Squooshi and EZ squeezees. Chose the latter because it was cheaper and for a test run at making food pouches at home.

So far so good. I made a carrot, spinach and pear puree (made the carrot and spinach then froze before hand) using my Ninja blender that my daughter ate. Good because I recently transitioned my one year old to whole milk and she'd had constipation from drinking too much milk. The only bad I can see is cleaning there are crevices that I have to make sure to rinse out carefully.

I also noticed mention of how wide the pouches were. I was concerned about that too, until I realized it's a good design because if you fill the pouch to capacity and close it, then hand it to your child, their touch may cause the puree to squeeze out. To minimize the mess, your child will probably grab the pouch with both hands using the sides/handles, or you can fill the pouch with less puree.

I like the pouches and I'm going to use the for awhile. I also want to try the others because the caps on the others are larger and more visible.

My boys (2 & 5) love the EZ Squeeze. We use it for everything soft and squishy...yogart, applesauce, pudding, jello, soups, etc.... just about anything that can be incredibly messy and difficult to eat. Definately less food waste! Especially nice on picnics and outings. The zip closure on the side is strong enough to endure my two-year-old's rough handling. We love to blend different flavors together, especially with applesauce, to include extra veggies. I couldn't afford to buy as many of the pre-packaged, store bought food pouches as often as we use the EZ Squeeze. This way I can ensure everything is natural and healthy for the boys, not loaded with sugars and preservatives! And clean-up is a breeze! Just rinse and stick it on the top shelf of dishwasher and it's clean for tomorrow! The only "challenge" for me is filling from the side. It can be a little awkward for me, but that might just be my own coordination deficencies;)

Earth's Best Organic 2nd Antioxidant Blend Apple Butternut Squash, 4 Ounce Jars (Pack of 12)

Earth's Best 2nd Antioxidant Blend Apple Butternut Squash, 4 OunceWonderful baby food. I generally make all of our baby food from organic produce from farmers markets. However, when on-the-road, I feel safe giving my son Earth's Best jarred food. They are organic, non-gmo, and don't have sugar or salt added. The Apple Butternut Squash is his favorite!

My son loves this baby food. Its a great blend of fruit and veggies. I give it to him for breakfast instead of just fruit he gets some vegetable in. The texture and consistency is good for stage 2.

I received the pumpkin apple instead of this product. The only mix-up I have had using Amazon grocery. They were very cooperative and gave me a product credit. It worked out alright as my son loves the pumpkin apple and the whole line of "seasonal" blends for that matter.

My daughter loves this one. If she has a day when she doesn't want to eat anything. I know that she will always eat the apple butternut squash and the sweet potato with cinnamon.

Nuby Suction Bowl with Spoon and Lid

Nuby Suction Bowl with Spoon and Lid, Colors May VaryThis is the best solution to toddler feeding (or learning how to) I have found yet. We've tried a variety of suction bowls and they never seem to stick. These guys do the trick. I actually bought my first one in store and stuck it to one of their walls first and tried to rip it off to make sure it would stand up to my daughters attempt to feed our floor. Sure enough, didn't budge. So, I ordered 2 more. The lid snaps on tight (though you need to push it a little harder than you would a simple piece of tupperware) to ensure a tight seal. I adore that I can snap a spoon on top in the event we need to eat on the go, and the dirty spoon can snap right back in to keep it from getting on stuff in her diaper bag until we can get home to wash it. Microwave and dishwasher safe in our house are a must, and these are both (as stated from their website, and through experience.) I think what I love the most is that if I go through the "trouble" of making lunch and my daughter decides she's not hungry, instead of letting food sit on the counter until she is, or having to transfer it to tupperware, all I have to do is toss the lid on, throw it in the fridge, and reheat when she decides it's time to eat. Seriously, perks everywhere. We carry one in the diaper bag at all times in the event we opt to eat out without thinking ahead we can put her servings in this bowl so that she can't toss plates on to the floor at restaurants. Though, if it's winter, I usually have to run the suction through some warm water first so it'll stick. Suction cups don't stick well when they're cold :)

I bought this bowl for my 5 month old DD. I abvsolutely love this! she tries to push and pull the bowl but the strong suction hold very well. No spilled cereal or other food ever!

I would love to buy more!

A nice and comfortable plate. Convenient that it can be attached to the table and she wouldn't. Can be washed in the dishwasher. Bright colors.

As said it just doesn't stuck for too long on wood surfaces but on acrylic won't be a problem to hold on.

It doesn't suction very well but I was kind of expecting that. I like that there is a spot for the spoon on top of the lid. Makes things easy for travel. The lids stay on well but aren't impossible to get off (like the munchkin ones).

Nurtria BPA Free Milk Powder Container, White

Nurtria BPA Free Milk Powder Container, WhiteIt's hard to pour formula out even if you shake it 100x. The design is not very practical. But nice clean white nevertheless.

This was very cheap quality. I am not happy with it at all. Went and got a munchkin one instead and love that one. The too doesn't want to open easily and the slider does not stay in place.

This container works very well at keeping the powder from spilling all over the diaper bag. I would buy it again if I had to.

it helps to have one of these around for quick trips. anytime we go out for a few hours I take this with me with just enough milk for 3 bottles, it sure helps!

Bought three of these with the intent of storing formula (powder) while out and about.

All three were the same none of the lids stayed on the containers. These would probably be fine if they were upright all the time and stored on a counter top but to put them in a diaper bag would result in formula powder spilling out everywhere. I returned them.

Ended up getting the munchkin ones which have lids that stay on and none of the formula powder leaks out.
