Plum Organics Mish Mash - Blueberry Oats & Quinoa - 6 pk ( Value Bulk Multi-pack)

Plum Organics Mish Mash Blueberry Oats and Quinoa, 3.17-Ounce PouchesBut a few warnings the packaging might lead you to believe that this product is primarily blueberry, oats, and quinoa. However, the first two ingredients (and hence the most prevalent) are actually apple puree and banana puree. I'm not a fan of companies with misleading labels and product names, and so I deducted two stars for that. Like I said in the title, though, my kid loves it. I just want to make sure you know what you're actually getting. From my experience, most of the Plum Organics line starts with apple something or other, despite whatever the name of the product is or what is pictured on the label.

My toddler son loves these on the go Plum Tots snacks. However, I have to say that one of the first ingredients (and main taste of the product) is Banana..not blueberry! It tastes very sweet too. I feel that the packaging should at least label this as banana/blueberry Quinoa as the packaging is misleading and the product does not taste like blueberry that much, if at all. I'm a huge fan of most Plum Baby/Tots products and will continue to buy but I'm very careful not to be duped anymore and so I assess all ingredients..especially the first one because that's the largest content of the product. I love Earth's Best smoothie yogurts as content/taste reflects in the product name.

Our morning routine isn't perfect-sometimes our little one wakes up later and we end up rushing around trying to get the day started. These Plum Organics pouches are a lifesaver-they are a yummy combination of protein, grains, and fruit. A complete little smoothie that tastes great, is 100% organic, and healthy. Beaba Spoon and Fork Multi-pack

Beaba Spoon and Fork Multi-packThis set of spoons is not silicone like the other ones they have; these are plastic and (though outrageously pricey) I think they are great for a toddler learning to feed himself. My son started to feed himself with this and loves using it, it is just his size and makes it easier for him to get the hang of feeding himself rather then trying to finagle heavy steel/silver ware. Highly recommend, if you are not scared off by the price tag, otherwise I have no doubt there are comparable sets available for a lot less.

I've been searching for a short plastic spoon for my 15-month old. A lot of the spoons in the store have a plastic handle and metal on the part that goes in their mouth. Definitely not good for a teething toddler!

These spoons are the perfect length, and the scoop angle on the spoon is just right.

Definitely recommend!

We received this Beaba Spoon & Fork Set from a friend for our toddler and he loves them. I like the mix-and-match colors. The spoon is deep enough for soup and cereal. The fork is sharp enough to spear meats and veggies, but not too sharp that I have to worry about him hurting himself. The handles are the perfect length for his little toddler hands to hold securely.

The only thing I find odd is why they package it as six spoons and four forks why not five and five? I don't find that I need more spoons than forks and there have been times when I've wished I had just one more fork (I split the sets up into various diaper bags so that we always have a set no matter which bag we have with us on the go.

This is our second set of Beaba spoons and forks since we lost some forks out of our first set. I was reluctant to spend another $20 on another set, but they are such a great product that I went for it. These are very good for toddlers. They are very easy for little hands to manipulate. They wash well in the dishwasher too.

Munchkin: Fresh Food Feeder

Munchkin: Fresh Food Feeder Colors varyI just bought a pair of these for my baby and their functionality is superb! My baby holds them easily, and loves eating with them.

BUT they are near impossible to clean! Bananas are the worst to get out! I have rinsed and turned inside out & rinsed, run them through the dishwasher, and cursed at them. I would throw them out if my daughter didn't love them so much.

In the dishwasher, they catch crumbs and keep them, so the only way I have found to sanitize them is by first handwashing (10 min), then boiling for five minutes.

These are great for babies, but weigh them against the amount of cleaning frustration you are willing to tolerate. Also note that some foods are a lot easier to clean out than others anything stringy will have pieces twisted and wrapped into the mesh, so bananas, citrus, celery, and skins of any sort will give you a headache.

I've had this a few weeks and finally tried some bananas in it. My son LOVED it. He cried when we were done with it. I thought it was great because he could actually feed himself with something (he's 6 months) while I ate my own lunch. He got all the bananas. We tried frozen and fresh and both were a hit.

Now, they are still sitting dirty downstairs. I have tried scrubbing with a sponge, my hands, turning them inside out, using the sprayer, putting them in the dishwasher, dumping in boiling water.. i cannot get them clean. THere is banana all over them. I am thinking of calling Munchkin to get a new pair and just not using banana in it. I love the idea. Maybe grapes or something would be better. I still recommend trying this out, and if you find a better way to clean it let me know because i want to love this product!

With a small ice cube tray, you can freeze baby food and give it to them...... it helps SO much for teething, and also you really don't have to struggle to get them to eat! My son didn't even need to be taught how to use this! I was amazed and he's been using them twice a day for two weeks now! It's been a teething life saver as it helps keep him from being too grumpy. LOVE this, must buy

This product is genius and it doubles as a teether. Our baby frequently flips it around and naws on the handle. We use fresh organic pear and frozen organic strawberries, blueberries & raspberries (the cold is great on the gums). It is challenging to clean and would just say mush up your bananas and feed with a spoon this doesn't work well with bananas. Pear comes through the mesh very easily along with the berries. Our little one loves this and it's a treat for her. This is a must have for all new mamas and a very cheap purchase.

*Baby may initially reject because of mesh but express some food out and they will love.

*Great for teething babies.

*Great transition from super pureed foods but before lumpy foods (this makes the food have some texture).

*Can be difficult to clean but just buy a baby tooth brush to get into all the nooks.

*Buy it, it's wonderful!

hi, just wanted to make you aware of a hazard on this product. the Munchkin fresh food feeder that i purchased had a small piece of different colored plastic on the locking part. this came off while my daughter was using it and she started to choke on it. luckily we were able to dislodge the piece and she's okay, but make sure yours doesn't have this part. I contacted the company and told them of the problem but i noticed the new feeder in the stores still have this hazard.

Similac Expert Care Alimentum Hypoallergenic Nutrition Formula, Powder, With Iron, 16 ozWe tried everything on our little one and she could not handle any other type of milk besides this one. Seventh Generation Free & Clear Baby Wipes

Seventh Generation Free & Clear Baby Wipes with easy open top, 64 count packsI used to buy Kirkland Signature (Costco) wipes and Huggies wipes. However, upon research from EWG's website, I decided to try the more natural and less toxic brands. So I bought Earth's Best, Seventh Generation, and Tushies, just to compare.

Size: Earth's Best is slightly larger than Seventh Generation and Tushies. If you like generous sizes, Earth's Best is the winner.

Thickness: Earth's Best is slightly thicker than Seventh Generation. Tushies is the thinnest. But none of the three brands is as thick as Huggies.

Texture: Tushies is subtly printed with ducks and stars. These prints increase friction so it is easier to remove dried poop that sticks to baby's bottom. Seventh Generation and Earth' Best do not have prints on them. They feel smoother on the skin. But on the other hand, they do not remove dried poop as effectively due to the lack of friction. More friction can be good or bad, depending on your perspective. One user commented that Tushies felt like sand paper. It was exaggerated. But Tushies does feel rougher on the skin. Between Seventh Generation and Earth' Best, Seventh Generation has more of a fabric feeling, while Earth' Best feels smoother.

Water Retention: inside the plastic bags that come with the wipes, Tushies wipes feel very moist. However, once I transported the wipes to the wipe warmer, they become dry. Their thin texture does not help the wipes to absorb/maintain water. Seventh Generation and Earth' Best are better at retaining moisture.

Breakability: it is very annoying to have wipes broken into pieces when you pull them out of the wipe warmer. Huggies and Tushies both break. Seventh Generation, Earth' Best, and Kirkland never do.

Overall, none of baby wipes I tried are perfect. They all have pros and cons. However, if I am going to choose one, I will go with Earth's Best for its size, texture, moistness and the fact that it does not break easily.

Note added 11/28/09: I've revised my 04/26/09 review with new information and changed my rating from five to four stars.

I ordered these wipes from Amazon in mid-2008, in early 2009, and in late 2009, but the wipes were different each time. See Customer Images.

In mid-2008, the front of the mostly-green package was beige and had "seventh GENERATION baby" on the "leaf" logo. The text on the front was in English only; the back was stamped "MADE IN UK." The ingredients were "Water, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose (plant-derived cleaning agent), Glycerin (vegetable oil derived), Citric Acid (provides stability and pH balance), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (vitamin E acetate), Potassium Sorbate and Sodium Benzoate (food-grade preservatives)." The weight of the package was 1 pound (although it's possible that some moisture leaked out as the measurement was taken in early 2009). There were 80 wipes per package, each 6.8"x7.5".

In early 2009, the front of the mostly-green package was blue and gray, and had just "seventh GENERATION" on the "leaf" logo on the front. The text on the front was in English and French; the back was stamped "MADE IN USA." The ingredients were "Water, Polysorbate 20 (cleansing agent derived from sugar), Glycerin (soothes and cleanses skin, vegetable oil derived), Citric acid (provides stability & pH balance), Potassium sorbate (a natural preservative), Aloe Barbadensis Gel (helps heal skin), Tocopherol acetate (Vitamin E acetate, helps heal skin)." These ingredients were rated 2 (a "low" hazard) on a cosmetic safety database on the Web. The weight of the package was 1-1/4 pounds when received. There were 80 wipes per package, each 6.8"x7.5".

In late 2009, the packaging had changed completely, with an overall light lime color instead of green. The baby on the front was sitting in the grass looking at a stacking ring toy. The text was all in English; the side was stamped "MADE IN USA." The ingredients were "Aqua (water), glycerin (vegetable oil derived), citric acid (provides stability and pH balance), cetyl hydroxyethylcellulose (plant-derived cleaning agent), aloe barbadensis extract (aloe), tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E acetate), sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (food-grade preservatives). ... The wipe material used in this product is a blend of rayon (naturally derived) and polyester (PET)." The weight of the package was 1 pound when received. There were 70 wipes per package, each 6.8"x7".

Common to all three versions: (1) Although all the packages said "unscented," there was actually a slight odor perhaps from the citric acid and aloe. (2) We've used all of them without problems like diaper rash. (3) I don't agree with reviews such as "There is hardly any moisture now" suggesting that the water content has decreased over time. The current wipes feel just as moist as the previous ones. Although the package weight decreased between early 2009 and late 2009, the number of wipes and their size also declined, so that the weight per unit area remained about the same. I will say that the weight per unit area (.0048 ounces per square inch) is lower than for other brands of wipes (e.g., Kirkland from CostCo at .0057 ounces per sq in), suggesting a lower water content than other brands have.

However, comparing the three versions, I do have two major concerns: (1) THE INGREDIENTS KEEP CHANGING. Can't the manufacturer stick with one formula? (2) THE COST PER SQUARE INCH OF WIPE HAS INCREASED ABOUT 22%, from 0.086 cents in early 2009 to 0.105 cents in late 2009. The reason is that you pay the same price as before but the wipe size decreased and you get fewer wipes now.

For the reasons above, I changed my 4/26/09 rating from five stars to four now. Consider buying these wipes from Amazon.com!

I started using these when my son was an infant, and I loved them. They were perfectly natural and safe for my baby. One day I ordered these from Amazon and noticed that the company had added sodium benzoate, a preservative that is now be suspected of causing Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, although not confirmed. I don't like to use things with this preservative, so I had to discontinue using these wipes. I switched to Tushies Unscented wipes. They aren't as thick, but they are more natural than these. Check it out on .

My wife and I love these wipes. So imagine our dismay when the most recent shipment came in (we subscribe) with different packaging and less wipes. I wouldn't be upset except the price didn't change. So now we are getting 120 less wipes (nearly 2 packages less) for the same price. It ends up meaning 0.6 cent increase per wipe or a 15.7% increase in price. Since we order one case of pkgs per month this will turn into a $66 increase of the course of a year. I realize the economy is bad so companies are reducing production but the product price should decrease at least a little accordingly. Poor PR move by a what we have considered a great company. As far as distribution goes, since the original package at the original price is still being sold, I am annoyed with Amazon for changing which product we receive without any notification.

PS just noticed 7th gen also changed the size: per case (12 pkgs) it ends up being a bit under 9000 sq in reduction in the amount of product versus the original pkg. Which means we are getting 176 less wipes (more than 2 pkgs) per order or a 0.8 cent per wipe or 21.2% increase in price. That is a $92 increase per year. OUCH!

I am a big fan of Seventh Generation's wipes. I've been using them for some time on our newborn daughter, since I'd ordered a case of the refill packages on Amazon before she was even born. They are moist, non-irritating, and free of a lot of the scents and chemicals in so many other wipes out there. And I didn't think I needed all the plastic containers, so I was quite happy with using the refill packages...

My husband and I used them at every diaper change -which can be 8, 10, even 12 times a day for a new baby. We were going through them so fast that I went online to order another case. Unfortunately, the refills were "currently unavailable" on Amazon, so I ended up ordering the case with the regular packages, in the plastic containers.

Okay, so I still love the wipes, and I still prefer them to anything else out there. But I have two gripes:

First, as already mentioned by another reviewer, it seems so terribly wasteful to have a case of twelve plastic containers. The refill packages are easy to use without the plastic container, so all that plastic is completely unnecessary. Amazon, please re-stock the refills!

Second, my husband and I both observed that the wipes in the plastic containers seem to be less moist than those that come in the refill packages. We were a bit disappointed by this, since the moistness of the wipes is a major appeal of this product. It makes them easy to use and very thorough in cleaning baby's bottom between baths. The wipes still work fine, and we still love them, but there is definitely a difference in their moistness as compared to the refill packages.

A five-star product in three-star packaging equals four stars in my book. I hope to see the refill packs available again soon...

UPDATE: As of late October, Amazon has the refills back in stock! They seem to come and go, so catch 'em while they're here!

Nuby 2 Pack Snack Keeper

Nuby 2 Pack Snack Keeper, Colors May VaryI do like these for the baby when we are sitting outside. However if he gets bored or decides he is not hungry anymore he likes to shake it & if it's something small like puffs then they all come out all over the place.

Laundry received, as in the past is very suitable for home, feel is very personal, very like this brand, very good, and very good quality! Is a worthy of recommendation!

-It says dishwasher safe so I washed them in the dishwasher but afterwards I had a horrible time trying to get the lids back on. I ended up having my husband put them on.

-Can't pick your color/s so my son ended up with purple. Not a big deal I suppose just kind of annoying. I sort of wish I would've just bought them in the store and paid the extra money so I could pick the colors.

-They seem like they will work well but the lid flaps seem kind of flimsy like food could easily fall out if its turned upside down. Haven't tried them yet so I suppose its not a fair review.

My 17 month old had gotten to the point where he wanted to carry around his snacks with him, and I wanted a little snack cup like this that would limit spills. It's designed for dry foods (I've used it for Cheerio's, Life, Chex, and Goldfish so far) and works fairly well keeping the snacks where they're supposed to be...unless my curious toddler takes it and shakes it upside down vigorously, in which case all bets are off. However, it is advertised as "spill-resistant" not "spill-proof," so that's to be expected. I have found that it doesn't work well for Life cereal because the pieces are too narrow and they slip out too easily. The lid is a bit of a struggle to snap on each time; seems like it ought to be a tad easier. That is the primary reason I gave it four stars instead of five.

The covers are a bit hard to put on & take off, & when my son is throwing a tantrum he still manages to fling the puffs out of this container (keep in mind though he's whipping it hard on his highchair). Also wasn't too happy that you couldn't pick your color, I got a purple one for my son, but it's okay we just use this one at home.

Munchkin Precision Digital Bottle Warmer, White

Munchkin Precision Digital Bottle Warmer, WhiteI bought it becaused I liked the timer & auto shut-off features, which some others do not have. But once I started using it, it would sometimes leak from the side. Then I called Munchkin and realized what was wrong. The thing heats by steam, so the water in the main body should be low, as a guideline, if it touches the bottom of the bottle it is already too high. What happens is if you move it or bump it or tilt it, too much water from the side container will sip into the main body, causing it to leak when it boils. If that happens, you have to empty everything and reload the water as per the instructions from the start. Aside from that, so far so good.

This product is not 100% perfect. For a reason that I don't understand the temperature is not constant, so I have to check it everytime (although I would do that even if that wasn't an issue) and sometimes I have to adjust (mix with cold milk if hot or warm again if cold).

This is my second bottle warmer. With my first baby I used the Dr. Browns one. The temperature on that one was always perfect BUT it developed some mold and deposits that were impossible to clean. So I ended up tossing it.

This warmer needs some adjusting but it is a breeze to clean.I just pour some white vinegar, wait a few minutes and wipe off with a kitchen towel. It gets perfectly clean everytime. I rather check the temperature and adjust than worriying about stuff growing up inside.

This warmer was amazing at first. It cut bottle prep time in half. Before we were running water through our one cup coffee machine to warm our bottles in a bowl. This was much more efficient. We noticed it was sputtering water onto the counter. I checked that the reservoir was filled to at least half every time I warmed a bottle. The final time I used this warmer I put the timer on for 2:30 (less than the recommend 3:10 which made our bottles scalding). Then I walked into the living room (in sight of the warmer) to get the baby. Almost instantly I started smelling something funny. It actually didn't smell like burning at first so I didn't think of the warmer. When it beeped that time was up I noticed it was still making noise. It sounded like sputtering. I immediately unplugged it and the sounds stopped. When I inspected it, the inside basket had melted and scorched to the heating plate. The bottom of the bottle was browned. There was no water left yet the "safety shutoff" had not engaged. It seems like the heating element went to as hot as possible and stayed there until I unplugged it. This scared me enough that I will not be getting another one to replace this. Very dangerous!

Want Munchkin Precision Digital Bottle Warmer, White Discount?

We bought this after reading several consumer reviews. I love how the water does not need to be refilled before each use, which makes it that much quicker. Also, it's relatively easy to clean on the inside. Fits all sorts of bottles, including wide ones. I also love the digital timer and auto-shut off. The timer has a nice memory feature so you can automatically use whatever it was set to last. Very convenient for us since almost all of my son's bottles are the same. One review I read said this got the bottles too hot for breast milk and was therefore not recommended but I didn't find this to be true. I'm sure you could ruin the BM if you left it on too long (the timer goes up to 10 minutes) but we give our son bottles of breast milk, each of which are 6 oz, most of which comes straight from the fridge, and at 3 minutes 20 seconds, the fridge bottles come out tepid, which is perfect for us. It took us a few tries to figure out how much time was perfect for us, but once we figured out the "ideal" time, this has been so easy to use! Definitely would recommend it.

Earth's Best Vegetable Variety Pack, 4-Ounce (Pack of 12)

Earth's Best Vegetable Variety Pack, 4-OunceLike many others here, I was disappointed that this company allowed the use of BPA in their products. (I've been giving my twin infants the formula and jarred food for months.) I wrote to the company today and I received this very prompt response:

Earth's Best Organic® infant formula was converted to packaging that does not use BPA in March, 2009.

Earth's Best Organic® jarred baby food was converted to packaging that does not use BPA in October, 2011.

I feel much better using their products now.

I started to panic when I read the comment from someone about BPA in the lid of EB glass baby jar foods. I make most of my baby food at home, but when on the road this is such an easy option. I called the company right away to get the facts. I was so relieved to hear that there are no BPA's that come into contact with the baby food. There are two layers of plastic in the lid and the layer that touches the baby food does NOT contain BPA. The layer in between has small traces of it, but their research has shown that it does not leech into the food. I personally feel comfortable with this and am glad I can still support this company.

Three each of carrots, winter squash, sweet potatoes, and peas with brown rice. My dog won't eat prescription dog food for her heart failure, so I'm winging it with people foodadult and baby. She wears out chewing things, so will lap this up from a bowl. When she hears the jar seal 'pop' when I open the jar, she comes to the kitchen and waits to see what shows up in her dish. It was worth the cost to have it dropped off at the front door.

Earth's Best Organic 2nd Gourmet Meals, Variety Pack, 4-Ounce Jars (Pack of 12)

Earth's Best Organic 2nd Gourmet Meals, Variety Pack, 4-Ounce Jars****Latest Update****

We are now past the baby food stage so I may have missed this if it was formally announced, but I recently heard that they switched packaging in late 2011 to be completely BPA free. I confirmed this with customer service. Leaving the remaining review as it was...

*********************

My wife had made her own baby food for our daughter for the first eight months. Then, when our daughter was going to begin daycare, there was a certain convenience factor of being about to send in jars of baby food for her and so we bought Earth's Best. It was organic, and figured to be the closest bought brand to what she had been making herself. The variety packs are a nice, easy way to stock different kinds for our baby to enjoy... and enjoy she did for several of the flavors, though some she hated as well. All in all, we were pleased, and baby seemed pleased, though I will say, she didn't seem to like these gourmet ones any better or any worse than the less expensive Earth's Best Organic 2nd Dinner Variety Pack, 4 Ounce Jars (Pack of 12).

Needless to say, I was pretty surprised to read a review about BPA in the lids at Earth's Best Organic 2nd Fruit Variety Pack, 4-Ounce Jars (Pack of 12), (and so I posted my review there as well). I spent some time trying to verify this myself. A lot of different blogs stated it, and while I couldn't find anything definitive, here's what bothered me: Clearly Earth's Best knows people are concerned about BPA in their lids... their own facebook site is littered with people asking this same question. The admin answers these the same way... food safety and baby health is of the highest priority, call us to discuss. That's only slightly paraphrased. Going to their website, they have zero articles on BPA and none in the FAQs section either... nothing. I'm not worried enough about the issue to stop using what we purchased, but I would have felt a whole lot better about the company and their products if they would acknowledge parents' concerns and tell parents... something. Hey, we check our food in laboratory testing regularly and the the amount of BPA found in our food is X, which is so low, there are no health concerns... just say something... anything. Do you really want the onus on the customer to contact you to keep using your product?

As I was taking the time to review their product, I decided I would call them to give them a fair chance to explain. Something, I likely wouldn't have done if I wasn't writing a review. Their office was closed... 9AM 7PM est. Not the most convenient times for a working parent, but I will attempt to follow up and update this accordingly.

****UPDATED (old)****

Just spoke to someone from customer service. She says that the liner that comes into contact with the food is BPA free, but that there is another section of the lid behind this liner, that does contain BPA, but that section of the lid does not come in contact with the food. I'm sure not everyone will be okay with that answer, but I'm ok with it. I still think it should be an answer that's readily available to consumers without calling them, but I will say there was no hold time at least.

I absolutely love Earths Best foods. They have the largest variety of organic foods at the best prices. The 'gourmet' flavors are slightly more expensive at my grocery store, so I thought I would give Amazon a try. The order was perfect. My son (8 months) absolutely loves the gourmet flavors. I also like the consistency of these flavors. It is 'mid-range': not too watery (like Earths Best Chicken & Rice flavor) but not too thick.

My son has yet to refuse anything made by Earth's Best. Granted, he eats all his food but these are interesting combinations. The ingredients are simple--veggie, water, meat. Some absorbic acid. I highly recommend the product.

I do not, however, recommend buying it here. The "regular" price that is crossed out is absolutely absurd. I have not seen this product over $10 in any store. Perhaps that's the price in NYC.

My son (9 months) seemed to enjoy these meals. With the exception of the risotto dish though, I found them to be quite runny. It was more difficult to feed him without making a mess. The risotto though had a nice consistency. The flavor combinations sounded good to me but I have to admit I don't usually taste them myself.

I love these variety packs. My only complaint is that you can get them cheaper at BRU (I found them for $9.99 for a 12 pack, regular price). That's the only reason I gave them 3 stars. But as far as the actual baby food goes, I don't feel like I could be buying anything better for my baby. I make all of his fruit and vegetable baby food myself but I was a little overwhelmed at trying to do the meat ones. I wanted to buy all organic but I live in a very small town and didn't want to mess with trying to find the closest place to get organic/hormone free/antibiotic free meat. Not to mention the price and all the work to make it. The ingredients in this baby food are all real, whole, organic foods. No preservatives, nothing extra. So easy!
