Munchkin Time Saver Bottle Warmer, White

Munchkin Time Saver Bottle Warmer, WhiteI bought this bottle warmer simply for the cost and I will never do that again. The water reservoir leaks all over the counter. The directions say not to overfill but the reservoir drains the water into the warmer on its own so there should be no user error. And since the water "drains as needed" from the reservoir into the warmer, you should never have to place water in the warmer directly. There is no light or anything to tell you when to add more water but you never know what is in the warmer part. Many times in the middle of warming a bottle for 4 minutes, the water will run out and if you are not standing over the warmer (God forbid you have a baby you are getting into pajamas while the bottle warms) you will only know by the horrible smell that occurs when the water is empty and yet the burner keeps burning, hence burning the bottom of the bottle. And other times, you will pull the bottle out of the warmer (the handy basket part doesn't hold a bottle bigger than 4oz so you are using your hands to pull it out) the nipple and bottle are burning hot and yet the liquid is cold. I read the other reviews just now and I sure wish I would have looked on here before I bought this product. And I certainly wouldn't have bought 5 of these. I will be throwing this one out and buying a new brand altogether.

I nurse my son so we only use this when I'm not around and he needs a bottle. It heats it perfectly and we liked it so much that we got a 2nd one for our daycare lady.

I've read these reviews and can't figure out why people don't like this. My wife and I received it as a baby shower gift and we use it multiple times a day. If you use common sense and check the water level through the somewhat transparent water reservoir you should never run out of water halfway through warming your bottles. Also yes it does get the bottle and lid and nipple hot, use a towel to pick it up. It's not that hard to do. We absolutely love this thing as it saves time at 4am as opposed to warming under warm water.

water tank is way too small

only does about 4-5 bottles on setting of 2 minutes

(it doesn;t leak if you do it right)

warming is variable

the longer you leave it in [after the bell rings] the warmer it gets

it can easily get too hot just sitting there if you walk off and forget

this is when you have it set to warm correctly assuming you are there and pull it out immediately

also less milk means it gets warmer

milk from frig takes longer to warm than if it was room temp to start with

so you kind of either have to do everything the same [initial temp, milk quantity, post-bell time, even the bottle type] or take a shot in the dark that it comes out ok

change any of that, and you are back to guessing, and the old wrist temp-test

plus there is no low water warning, it is easy to run it dry and have a bad smell

also that turns the bottom brown eventually

i can see how it would melt or burn bottle bottoms too

plus if you get any milk in the water, it foams up, and will turn the whole thing brown pretty soon

also there are nooks and crannies that make it hard to clean milk out completely, particularly around the heating disk in the bottom

plus you can;t add water until it;s empty [unless you want water all over the counter] because the tank goes in upside down, with no cap, if it has any in it when you remove it, it will come out

bottom line, it works, it doesn;t cost a fortune, but it has some limitations, whicht are not impossible to work around

BESTREVIEW :) vote for me :) just kidding, but if it helped.. thx wle..

EDITS

-it is still about the fastest way to do it other than microwave, not recommended

=for some reason dr brown;s bottles will spew milk up and out of their threads SOMETIMES

when they do milk gets in the water and eventually turns brown and has be cleaned out

i really think it is when the cap is on too tight, not too loose

either that , or maybe the nipple hole is stopped up

the browns bottles are weird and i think the air in the bottle expands and doesn;t go out the normal way, and it has to force the milk up the blue vent tube and out the threads, which are intentionally too big on those bottles, it is how air gets in when the baby sucks

Gerber Graduates Lil' Crunchies, Zesty Tomato, 1.48-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 12)

Gerber Graduates Lil' Crunchies, Zesty Tomato, 1.48-Ounce CanistersWe love this product as our son would eat half a box (when he was little over 1 yr) and would always eat it if offered. It was life saver when we were out and food choices were limited.

ELECARE VANILLA POWDER AMINO ACID-BASED MEDICAL FOOD 14.1OZ (PACK OF 6)

ELECARE VANILLA POWDER AMINO ACID-BASED MEDICAL FOOD 14.1OZVery pleased with this purchase. Formula came as described, and well before expiration date. The cans were in great condition. My son needs this formula since he is allergic to dairy and soy.

I tried the gfcf diet with my autistic 3yr son who has various sensory issues and food sensitivities/allergies which really limit his diet. We tried it for six months. At the end of these six months he was diagnosed with failure to thrive. The ped gastro put him on this milk and in 8weeks he gained all the weight he needed to gain without any tummy discomforts. It tastes like a vanilla milkshake. He absolutely loves the taste even though he is the pickiest child we have ever met, only eating about 10 different food items. I highly recommend it.

Btw, the casein and soy free diet helped him a lot specially with reducing stimming but we saw no difference with the gluten.

Especially for Baby Bottle Cooler Bag with Eva Piping - Black

Especially for Baby Bottle Cooler Bag with Eva Piping - BlackWe ordered this cooler to transport bottles to daycare. We could fit 4 large Dr. Brown's bottles (8oz) although it was a little bit tight, especially with the ice pack. My son is now down to 3 bottles/day and there is room for those plus 2 containers of food (the Gerber rectangular plastic containers stacked sideways next to the bottles). There is a pocket on the front and the back that we use for various papers, spare clothes (they just tuck in and hang out the side, but it's enough to let me carry the cooler and carseat into daycare without any problem) and a great pocket on the side that velcros perfect for pacifiers or Tylenol. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is that the ice pack cracked after a couple of months, so we had to replace with a generic one. The interior is a nice silver reflective material that is insulated to keep contents cold. It's easy to wipe down and seems durable thus far. I wanted something that was easy to carry, wasn't bulky, looked somewhat stylish and would carry everything I needed. We ordered a couple of coolers and this was the winner by far.

The inside is lined with a foil like lining that really helps keep the bottles/cups cold. It is the perfect size for 3 large bottles like the playtex drop ins or 2 sippy cups (with extra room for a yogurt or something smaller). The outside pocket is also a great size for a small snack that doesn't need to be kept cold. My only complaint is that if milk leaks in it and it sits for a while, it can get through the foil lining and smell bad. I solved that problem by putting a ziploc bag inside.

I bought this bag with the Medea ice pack based on the description on amazon's website. The ice pack does not fit. I would not recommend this bag for breast milk.

Babys Only Organic Dairy Formula Case

Babys Only Organic Dairy Formula CaseMY QUESTION FOLLOWED BY THEIR REPLY VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Hey guys,

So we are trying to feed a new born as much breast milk as we can, however there is not enough to meet his nutritional needs.

So a formula is in order as a supplement. With that, we are interested in your toddler formula, and it appears that since this meets the FDA Infant Formula Guidelines, that it should be safe, (and opinions on the Internet seem to feel the same way). However, our doctor says that it should not be used because of the higher amounts of calcium and phosphorous. He was also concerned about using the DHA/ARA supplement with concerns about the egg white process and that the proteins in egg whites are not good for an infant. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

THEIR ANSWER

Dear Dave,

Thank you for contacting Nature's One®. Firstly, you are correct in that our Baby's Only Organic® formulas meet the nutritional requirements of the FDA's Infant Formula Act. No dilution is needed for babies under 12 months of age. Please follow label mixing instructions.

Regarding the calcium and phosphorous content in Baby's Only Organic® formulas, calcium is an essential nutrient needed for bone health. The American Academy of Pediatrics Expert Panel for Nutrient Levels in Infant Formula has provided recommendations on the amount of calcium with the minimum per 100 Calories being 50 milligrams and the maximum being 140 milligrams per 100 Calories. Phosphorus is another important mineral for bone health. The Expert Panel has also recommended that the calcium to phosphorus ratio in an infant formula be no less than 1.1 or more than 2.0. Baby's Only Organic® falls within these ranges with our calcium at 135 milligrams per 100 Calories and a calcium to phosphorus ratio of 1.5.

Reference: Committee on Nutrition, Pediatric Nutrition Handbook, The American Academy of Pediatrics, 2009, pages 1245-1246.

The balance between calcium and phosphorus is most important for bone development. The calcium to phosphorus ratio in both Baby's Only Organic® formula and Enfamil NextStep is 1:5. Thus, Baby's Only Organic® formulas provide an appropriate ratio of calcium and phosphorus for toddlers and an appropriate overall quantity of calcium and phosphorus.

Regarding our Baby's Only Essentials® DHA/ARA supplement, The DHA utilized in our Baby's Only Essentials® DHA & ARA supplement is sourced from egg yolk phospholipids. You are probably aware that most often an egg allergy is caused by the egg white rather than the yolk. Additionally, it is the protein component of foods that usually elicit an allergic reaction. Because we use the phospholipids (not protein) from the egg yolk, there is only a very minute chance that an allergic response will ensue.

If your child has a history of allergies, we highly recommend that you consult your child's healthcare provider.

DHA is also found naturally in other foods, including oily fish like trout, sardines, tuna and salmon and the yolk of eggs. Dietary ARA is available from animal meats, dairy foods, eggs, peanuts and nori seaweed. As your child increases the variety of foods in her diet, you can include some of these foods in her diet. Other natural sources of DHA would include fish oil or fish oil supplements. Unfortunately, it is difficult to insure that these are free from mercury or other environmental toxins. But, also remember that these fatty acids can be formed from dietary linoleic and linolenic acids (nuts, seeds, grains legumes, vegetables and their cold-pressed oils). By including good sources of high quality fats in the diet, your child will easily be able to meet her specific needs

Most egg allergies are a result of ingestion of egg white; egg yolk allergies are rare.

Proteins are the component of foods that cause allergic reactions. Egg allergy is usually due to the proteins in the egg white. These protein allergens are: ovomucoid, ovalbumin, ovotransferrin; lysozyme, and ovomucin.

However, there can be a rare situation of egg yolk allergy. The literature to date usually associates egg yolk allergy to a reaction triggered by inhaled bird allergen, referred to as Bird-egg syndrome. This is a very rare syndrome.

Egg allergy can also be seasonal. Oak pollen, short and western ragweed and the goosefoot family of weeds may cross react with eggs when these pollens are in season.

The estimated point prevalence of egg allergy in children is 1.6% by 2.5 years of age. (1) Again, egg white is usually the cause of an egg allergy. Most children outgrow an allergy to eggs by 5 years of age.

(1) Eggesbo M, Botten G, Halvorsen R, Magnus P, "The prevalence of allergy to egg: a population-based study in young children," Allergy 56; 5:403

I hope this information is helpful to you. Thank you for your interest in Baby's Only Organic® formulas. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,

Lori

Nature's One Inc.

It's so nice that it's not filled with things that should just NOT be in formula.

No ingredients are purchased from China.

Contains no palm oil.

I also am impressed that they don't use corn syrup to sweeten their formulas. It's brown rice syrup which is a better carbohydrate than most use.

In response to no added DHA/ARA this is found on their website so it is not lacking.. and who wants DHA/ARA made by martex which is derived from laboratory-grown fermented algae and fungus and processed utilizing a toxic chemical, hexane anyway?

Baby's Only Organic® pediatric formulas contain two essential (precursor) fats: Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA) and Linoleic Acid (LA). Alpha-Linolenic and Linoleic fatty acids are called "essential" because the human body cannot make these fats and therefore it is essential to derive them from food sources. Alpha-Linolenic Acid is an omega-3 used by the body to make Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA). Linoleic Acid is an omega-6 used by the body to make Arachidonic Acid (ARA). DHA and ARA are called "non-essential" fatty acids because full-term, healthy infants, children, and adults can manufacture these from Alpha-Linolenic and Linoleic fatty acids.

Buy Babys Only Organic Dairy Formula Case Now

Just to clear up some confusion here is the quote from the manufacture's website:

"Baby's Only Organic® Dairy-based Toddler Formula contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA), the fatty acid precursors for Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Arachidonic acid (ARA)."

Conversion of ALA and LA by the body to the more active longer-chain metabolites is inefficient: 2-5% for DHA. So while adding ALA to your child's diet is helpful it is not a complete substitute for the ARA and DHA found in breast milk (of course no formula can match breast milk).

If you want to use this brand of formula you should consider adding DHA and ARA some other way. This same company makes a supplement called "Baby's Only Essentials® DHA & ARA" and there are others on the market.

We Loved the formula for our daughter. We supplemented my breastmilk with this from 6 wks to a year. It smelled much better than other formulas. I would highly recomend it. We had a nice plump, healthy, smart, organic baby!

Want Babys Only Organic Dairy Formula Case Discount?

I have been using Babys Only Organic Formula (dairy) for my daughter for 2 months now (she was 4 months old when we started) and I am absolutely thrilled with it.

Pros:

Very complete formula, superior nutritional value (more calcium!) than leading brands and YES, IT DOES CONTAIN DHA & ARA!!! (not like another reviewer says. Check out Nature's One website for more info).

It is less expensive than the leading brands!!

My daughter never had any problem digesting the formula, and is absolutely thriving on it :)

I tried Enfamil (what I used with my first child) and other brands of formulas, but she would not drink them. This is the only formula she has liked. It DOES taste (and smell!) better than the leading brands.

Cons:

It becomes foamy when you first shake the bottle to dissolve the powder, but the foam disappears if you let the bottle sit for a few minutes.

The powder dissolves better if you mix it in warm water.

Overall, a great formula that I have been recommending to many of my friends. :)

Burt's Bees Baby Bee Bubble Bath, Tear Free, 12 oz.

Burt's Bees Baby Bee Bubble Bath, Tear Free, 12 oz.I love this for bathing our 3 year old twins. It smells heavenly, and and I like that it is very natural. As for bubbles, my boys seem to think there are plenty!

I like that Burt's Bees uses all natural ingredients in their products, but I wish they would add a light natural sent such as lavender, honeysuckle or pomegranate for us "Adult" who like to take a relaxing bubble bath after a long day.

I really didn't think it was worth the money. The product alone is pretty expensive, and then paired with shipping, it's pretty steep. I ordered this because a friend was raving about how wonderful it was. Overall, it does the job.. However, I think that a cheap bottle from the local grocery store would have worked just as well.

Something is giving my baby dry patches on his legs, flame retardant sleepers are the #1 suspect but we started using this about the same time... so I"m also a big suspicious of this bubble bath. Surprising b/c I love Burt's Bees! I really don't think it's causing the dry patches, will update if I am able to confirm. For now I'll just say that I (cautiously) love this stuff.

We've been using this bubble bath since my daughter (now 3) was born. It's gentle on her sensitive skin and smells very nice and light. The trick with the bubbles is to pour some into the cap then hold the cap directly under the running water. We only use 3 capfuls and have lots of bubbles that stick around the entire bath!

green sprouts 6 Ounce Non-Spill Sippy Cup

green sprouts 6 Ounce Non-Spill Sippy Cup, BlueI bought one of these at a local store and it worked great! Then I bought two more online and they leaked like a sieve. The original one was good for a while, but eventually it started leaking too. Not the quality I expected from a cup that costs twice as much as the competitors.

I thought this was so cute, but the design came off in the dishwasher and its not spill proof at all. Just an fyi.

When my son was about 7 months old we started teaching him to drink from this cup at meal time. At first I held it and it had to be very full for him to be able to use it but it didn't take long before he was drinking by himself. The handles are easy for him to hold, he passes it from one hand to the other and tips it head back to take a long drink. He loves it!

Sippy cup is cute and very durable. To help my little guy get used to it we just let him play with it for a while and he loves banging it around. The lid stays on great, sometimes too good. I struggle to get it off and almost end up with liquid all over me. Luckily we've only put water in it so far. I like that the spout can fold down but if I want my kid to learn to use it we have to keep it up. Of course then he plays with it and turns it upside down and it leaks... A lot. So not a good first sippy to try but probably will be great once he's older and knows how to use one.

Want green sprouts 6 Ounce Non-Spill Sippy Cup Discount?

I like that Green Sprouts is environmentally friendly and takes steps to protect our children as they are using non-toxic drink ware.

This cup almost always leaks from where the handles and base of the top meet. It's too bad because this is such a cute cup. We still use it, but I only put water in it because of leaking when she drinks from it.
