Happy Baby HAPPYTOT BUTTERNUT SQUASH & APPLE organic super food for kids 4.22 oz

Happy Baby HAPPYTOT BUTTERNUT SQUASH & APPLE organic super food for kids 4.22 ozThis is one of my grandson's favorite Happy Baby flavor. Perfect for dipping his pancake pieces in. Great with chicken and turkey. An excellent way to make sure he gets his veggies. An added bonus: Salba, a strain of chia seed that is super nutritious lots of omega 3s, fiber, protein and antioxidents.

Only Happy Baby adds special ingredients like this.Happy Baby HAPPYTOT BUTTERNUT SQUASH & APPLE organic super food for kids 4.22 oz

My children (almost 3 & 1-1/2) love squeezable fruit & veggie pouches. This product is a great way to sneak in veggies for picky eaters and a great way to have variety and meet your daily values when out and about; I also find them to be a great snack. However, it is very difficult to find pouches with veggies at the local stores; mostly fruit pouches are sold, not many organic ones. So I went to Amazon. While I was happy to find Happy Tots by Happy baby (one of my favorite brands) the price was not that great. I later found it for substantially less ($2 less) at a local organic market. As to taste, while i've tried all other flavors and levels/stages, I will say that there is a particular taste to the Happy Tots because of the addition of a particular grain (Salba). Give this product a try and see if your kids like it.

Kinderville Little Bites Silicone Bibs (Set of 2, Blue/Green)

Kinderville Little Bites Silicone BibsInitially I was disappointed at how much smaller these bibs look than the baby Bjorn Dex Baby and tommee tippee Bibs that I have purchased. However those bibs were always kind of sitting on the high chair tray or my son was leaning in to eat and so the pelican pocket parts were thusly useless and all the food went into the seat or back onto the tray. Baby Bjorn I returned because my little boy couldnt even eat since the stupid thing sat on top of the tray and then when he leaned forward to eat poked him in his neck with its rigid collar. The tommee tippee ones just got yucky and stained and the Dex baby ones are too east for him to unsnap and just fling food everywhere.

This bib sit up higher than the others and is closer to my sons mouth. It is soft silicone and should not stain. And my son does not seem to mind it as much. Also it fastens on the side as opposed to in back which is great because my baby has curls for days and I just cant seem to get behind his head without getting a little ringlet stuck in the bib faster on other bibs and so it is always a pain. This bib is easy breezy :)

These bibs are really cute, easy to clean, quick to dry, and they fit our 7-month old baby boy very well.

We are very pleased with this purchase.

Cute colors/designs, great size (sits above the highchair tray), and easily wiped down but the pocket at the bottom has open ends which means that any liquid caught will eventually come out the side and fall into the baby's lap.

I really expected to totally LOVE these. I mean, they wipe clean easily and have a cute design. However, I was disappointed by the size. They seem really...small. Even though they adjust to be a bit bigger around the neck, I am not really sure how long we will be able to use them. I'm keeping them since they are so easy to clean and I am hoping to get good use out of them.

So for the prospective buyers out there:

The tray that is supposed to catch the food is fairly small and the overall size of the bib is fairly small. I don't think you could use these much past 9 months-1 year of age.

Want Kinderville Little Bites Silicone Bibs (Set of 2, Blue/Green) Discount?

I have twins, so we go through a LOT of bibs...

The fabric ones made a pile of gross laundry, so we tried the bibster disposables... Those were great for about one feeding, until they learned how to rip them off and tear them into pieces faster than you can blink.

Next I tried the sticky stick-on bibs. The sticky bibs didnt work unless the baby was wearing a perfectly round collar that fit right up to the neck (Forget about it if there was a collar placket, or any sort of frills at the neck) and once the babies learned to rip those off, it was impossible to even get them stuck on without a fight.

Then I tried the Bjorn bibs, but they are so rigid and hard, and the pocket at the bottom sits right where the tray of the highchair sets... This meant we either rested it ABOVE the tray, so it jammed right into their necks, or tried to stuff it UNDER the tray which yanked down on the back of the neck. Either way resulted in a teary, tortured baby. They might work well for times when you dont have a highchair, but not for our every day routine.

These Kinderville bibs are AWESOME. They are so soft, they dont hurt the babies necks, and they are a breeze to wash. They snap on easily, and so far no one has figured out how to rip them off. (They dont even try to rip them off, because they aren't uncomfortable and they dont make that wonderful scritchy noise that makes the babies tear at the plastic ones!)

These bibs are the perfect solution for us. Im so glad I found them!

BABYBJORN High Chair

BABYBJORN High Chair, WhiteCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program I am seriously disappointed with this high chair, particularly since Babybjorn came so close to making an exceptional product.

Upon unpacking, I was delighted to see that it is very easy to assemble. There are 4 legs, made of heavy, powder-coated metal, that snap into the one-piece seat of the chair. That's it! Assembly complete!

The tray mechanism is clever. It is attached to the front of the seat, and swings up to lock in place between the baby's legs. The locking mechanism for the tray is a large knob that you turn to lock or to unlock. The tray features a second, snap-off tray that goes right into the dishwasher.

The seat is a molded, one-piece design that includes a foot rest also. It is made of thick, smooth white plastic and has no corners or crevices that can catch food, spills or crumbs. Clean up would be very, very easy. There is also a seat belt to keep baby safely in the chair.

You will notice right away that this chair is shorter than most. The height of the chair is 33". It is designed so that the tray height is dining table height. It allows you to pull baby right up to the table next to you. I like this, too, because it lets parents include baby in family meals more easily.

The entire chair folds up for storage by swinging the tray down and pressing a button underneath the chair that folds the legs together. I think this is quite convenient.

The idea behind this unique chair, I think, it to make a compact chair that will easily fit into even the smallest home. The base is 22" x 22" and the tray is 11" x 17". The design is minimalist and extremely functional, while still being beautiful.

The problem is that Babybjorn went too far in scaling this chair down. The manufacturer says this is for children 5 months to 3 years, but unless your child is an extremely small sized child, a 3 year old will never fit in this. My granddaughter is 15 months old and this chair is already too small for her. She is tall, but that is not the problem. The problem is that the tray, which is adjustable to a couple of positions, squishes uncomfortably against my granddaughter even when in the furthest position, and my granddaughter is not fat or even chunky. She is tall and thin! I can also see that within a couple of months, the footrest would be too short for her, also, because her knees would hit the tray. (Think 20 people stuffed in a Volkswagen.)

This is so disappointing because the design is exceptional and the quality of materials are superb. I have always been happy with Babybjorn products. However, I think a high chair should fit most children for longer than a year, especially a premium brand at a premium price. Not recommended.

I have three children, so I have tried many different high chairs over the years in my quest to find the "perfect" one (Graco, Cosco, Fisher-Price, Chicco, Peg Perego, and the classic wooden high chair). The Baby Bjorn chair beats the heck out of them all! Everything about this chair is thoughtfully designed and made with quality materials. The other reviewers have mentioned how small it is, and they are right...it is perfect for tight spaces. But some of the reviewers said this high chair was too small for a toddler, and that is where I completely disagree. My 18 month-old, who is 33 inches tall and weighs 25 pounds, fits in it perfectly with a year's worth of growing room. (I have posted some pictures in the "View and share related images" area to show this.) I am using the tray on the middle setting for my toddler, and it fits her perfectly, even though she wears big, bulky cloth diapers! It will be a while before we need to move up to the biggest setting. And her legs have plenty of room to grow before her knees get close to touching the bottom of the tray. This high chair is a little different from the others on the market, in that the tray is meant to sit snugly against the child, to keep him/her from being able to stand up in the chair. (This might be the reason some reviewers feel it is too small for their toddlers.) The bonus to this is that there is not a gap between the tray and the child, so no food falls down into the seat, and cleanup is a breeze!

Here are the dimensions of the Baby Bjorn high chair. Base: 22"L x 22"W. Seat height: 22". Tray height: 28". Chair back height: 33".

It took me a little while to get used to folding this chair, but it gets much easier with practice. And I love the removable tray, which my toddler has not been able to take off herself (yay!). I love that this chair is compact and lightweight, because I can easily move it around to wherever we happen to be eating. In fact, when I am making dinner, my toddler occasionally scoots it over to me so that she can sit in it and watch me. Gotta love that!

One last thought: my toddler really likes that the tray is lower on this chair, because she can see down into her bowl, and therefore scoop out her cereal more easily. If she were sitting in a booster seat at our table, she would be sitting so much lower than her bowl, that she would be looking at the side of it. How could she find her cereal like that?

In short, the Baby Bjorn high chair is high-quality, safe, compact, lightweight, SUPER easy to clean (no crevices for food to get stuck in!), and suitable for both babies and toddlers...who could ask for more?

***UPDATE*** My daughter is now two years old, 36 inches tall, and weighs 30 pounds (90th percentile for height, 85th percentile for weight, so, quite large for her age!). This chair still fits her perfectly (I have added another photo to the "View and Share Related Images" area), and we are still using the tray on the middle setting. I love this thing so much that I even take it with us when we travel!

***2ND UPDATE*** My daughter is now 2.5 years old, 37 inches tall, and weighs 32 pounds (75th percentile for height, 80th percentile for weight). This chair is now getting a little tight for her, simply because her legs are so long. Her knees are almost touching the bottom of the tray. (I have added two more photos to the "View and Share Related Images area.) The tray is still on the middle setting, so she has more room to grow outward, just not upward. We are now retiring this chair, and it makes me so sad, because I have loved it so much!

We have been following baby-led weaning with our daughter (basically, baby learns to feed herself real food instead of being spoon-fed purees; see the reviews of this book for more information: Baby-Led Weaning: The Essential Guide to Introducing Solid Foods and Helping Your Baby to Grow Up a Happy and Confident Eater) and we found that the high chair we already owned was not working for us. With BLW, you start solid food at 6 months of age and the baby needs to sit up straight to eat. And since baby is feeding herself, things can get very messy, very quickly.

Well, the BabyBjorn high chair solved pretty much all my problems.

My young baby is held very securely in this seat; she cannot twist and turn sideways like in some other chairs.

Because the tray sits so close to her body, the food that she drops and spills doesn't fall into her lap -it stays on the tray. This has reduced my laundry problems significantly!

The chair is a BREEZE to clean, and the removable white tray is easy to rinse in the sink or to pop into the dishwasher (it fits nicely on either rack since it isn't super huge).

It's great for small spaces. Not too big. And because it folds so easily, we sometimes put it in the car and take it with us (on road trips, or to family members' houses), because it makes mealtimes so much easier. I even once took the legs off, packed it into a large suitcase, and checked it on an airplane because I didn't want to be without it for a week at a rental house.

A few small minuses that you will want to know about:

Because the seat is so minimalist (it doesn't come up high in back or wrap around the sides), there is a moment when I set my daughter in the chair, while I am securing the harness, that feels precarious to me -like if she suddenly launched herself sideways, she would fall. I hold her carefully at this point and once the harness is fastened, she can't go anywhere.

The seat is not large at all, and the back is low. I like this, but if you are expecting your baby to have head support, you will be disappointed.

The knobs that control the tray and the folding are easy to use once you know how to do it, but they are NOT obvious to someone who is trying it for the first time. So if you have a babysitter or someone who needs to use the high chair, you will need to show them how it works before you leave.

We had this seat folded and leaning against the wall, and my husband accidentally knocked it over and two small pieces of plastic broke off the harness latch. Everything else on this chair is super-sturdy (heavy metal legs, strong plastic body) but that latch is apparently kind of brittle? It still works fine even with the missing pieces, but I need to contact Baby Bjorn to get a replacement just in case.

The price is steep (though comparable to other high-end high chairs that aren't as functional as this one). I do wish it was a little less expensive, but I still think it was worth it.

It might not fit an obese child. The tray has three settings to adjust how close it is to the body. My 18 lb., 28" baby uses the middle setting. As she gets bigger, I think she will probably stay on that setting or go down to the smaller one because the tray will hit her lower in the waist and not right on the belly. And I think this chair would be fine even for a tall kid, though they might want to let their feet dangle instead of using the foot rest. But a child with a really large belly might not fit using the widest tray setting. (UPDATE: see below -she is outgrowing this chair now at 13 months!)

If you want to pull your child up to the table to eat with everyone else, you can't really do so, because the tray is not removable. (The tray does slide under the edge of our kitchen table, so we can get her pretty close, but she can't actually eat off of the table like everyone else.)

Overall, a great, compact, easy to clean high chair. Bonus points for its minimalist Swedish style.

UPDATE: After using this chair for six months, we ran into a very annoying problem. The removable tray has warped and it no longer latches securely. This means that it tends to pop off at inopportune moments. My daughter has noticed this and now likes to grab the tray and bang it up and down (sending her food flying). So I'm spending most of each meal holding the tray in place with my hand. (We do put the tray in the dishwasher every day, though we don't use a heated dry setting, so I don't know why it would have warped.)

Also, at 13 months, she is not fitting into the chair very well. She has been fussing when I fasten the tray, because it is so tight.

It was a great high chair while it lasted, but I think it's going back now. :(

I highly recommend this high chair because it occupies a very small footprint in a small kitchen. My large 14 mo old fits fine with room to spare. Just to make sure there was room to grow I put the 4 year old in the chair. His legs were too long but his body fit fine between the back of the seat and the tray. He is tall but not obese. Since children tend to slim as they become more mobile and grow, this small, ultra-safe chair should be great until about age 3. It is expensive but is so easy to clean, safe even without the harness, and good for an almost sitting up 5 month old and a 14 mo old with plenty of room to grow.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We Love this for my little 4 month old grandson who wants to sit up. However even though this tray adjusts out, I am sure it will not be able to use for several years to age 3 as suggested.

Great compact one piece but for ages 3 months to 15 months. I don't think this will fit most by age 18 months unless they are tiny kids.

Green Bottle Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Green Bottle 25-Ounce Stainless Steel Water Bottle with Screw Top, Stainless Steel Designi have kids and obviously it dented in the first time my almost 18 month old dropped it on a ceramic floor, the sip top kind of lets more air in then waterit's tricky to drink out of. i didn't realize the design on the bottle is painted on??? i'm not sure what it is, but it has started "melting" and attracts dirt and makes it sticky to hold. it keeps your drink at temperature though and it is a "green" bottle. i'm still in search of the perfect bottle

This is a great bottle that I use for my drinking water throughout the day. The stainless steel keeps my water nice and cold for a long time, which is great.

Not only is this a well designed bottle (with two types of screw-on sealed tops!), but it will be good for both you and the environment. It's BPA free, which I look for in all plastic now, even more so now that I've just become a father. It's non-leeching and toxin free, and I don't have to worry about throwing away a ton of plastic bottles anymore. The extra wide mouth is great, because unlike my old bottle, I can easily fit a few ice cubes in it.

Well designed bottle! It was exactly what I was looking for in a bottle. The wide mouth on the bigger bottle is perfect. The designs are very well done, I picked up the please recycle bottle for work (we have a company recycling plan) and the blue wispy bottle (for home).

I like that they give you two caps, the sports cap and the screw cap. Great Buy and inexpensive compared to some of the SIGG bottles!

Yummi Pouch (Set of 6)

Yummi PouchMy little guy was having trouble gaining weight and is a horribly picky eater. At 12 months old, he was only 16 lbs. One thing I could garuntee he would eat was the commercial squeeze pouch baby food, but those mostly have less than 100 calories per pouch and are so pricey. With these, I can fill them with baby cereal made with coconut milk and mix in fruit and veggies and pack over 200 calories per pouch and he can eat as many of them as he wants. We have only had them a little over a week and he has already put on almost a pound. The nice thing is, I can easily adjust the calories and nutrients to keep using them for a long time to come. They are easy to fill if you stick them in a cup to hold them upright and squeeze them open. Pay attention to the fill line, because they are easy to overfill.

These came in the mail a couple days ago and I have not stopped using them since! My 7 month old son and I love the convenience of the premade food pouches but at $1.50ish per pouch it adds up. These reusable pouches allow me to make my own healthy food combinations and have already saved me tons! My toddler even likes a little applesauce on the go! I would recommend these to anyone who likes to have the option of making and taking homemade baby food and is looking for something more convenient. I will be telling everyone I know and what a fun baby shower gift add on!

Buy Yummi Pouch (Set of 6) Now

I am using the Yummi Pouch for my 11 mo. old. I have been making my own baby food for 4 kids, so when they came out with these, I had to try them! These work just as well as the already filled pouches.

I was a little leery of the "zip" closure on the top, but so far, they seem to hold well. The food never really reaches up that high and so the top stays flat and there really isn't any pressure put on it. When I want to knead the food to mix it before feeding, I just do it lower down on the pouch and the food stays below the spout.

Some have commented on the stiffness of the plastic. It is stiff around the edges. I have not found this to be a problem in getting ALL of the food out of the pouch. I am hoping that the extra stiffness will mean that the reusable pouch will hold its shape and seal for a long time.

The caps seem to be exactly the same as those I've been using on the pre-filled pouches. If you are considering purchasing these, hold onto a few of your old caps as replacements.

As the instructions say for filling with food, blow into the mouthpiece to fully inflate the pouch, then fill from the top. I do the same to get the creases opened up and then fill with warm soapy water. I close the top of the pouch, cap the mouthpiece and squeeze the pouch to really get the water into the folds. I then un-cap the mouthpiece and squeeze the water out to make sure it gets clean. At this point, the pouch is well rinsed, but it still needs the bottle brush to finish the job. So, these are not magically easy to clean, but not difficult and I would say easier than many of the various sippy cups out there.

My only complaint is that these are made in China. I wish that they were made in the US.

I highly recommend this product. It works exactly as the manufacturer describes. I would have given it 5 stars, but I reserve that rating for products that surprise me with something unexpected. Thanks Yummi for making life easier for this Mom!

These are great. They are easy to fill (stick to the fill line or when you zip it shut it will over flow) easy to clean, and they are great quality. The plastic is thick and seems like it will hold up. I fill ours with apple sauce for my 20 month old and he just sucks it out like he does with the store bought ones. These will save us money and are less waste since you can re use them! Also the caps are the same size as the ones we buy from the store (just in case we throw a cap out by accident, you know where you can get more!) the only thing i wish is that the opening was on the side and the spout where you eat from was on the top like the ones at the store. So far my son hasn't been bothered by this at all though

EDITED: 6/12/13

So I've been using these for a while now (a few months maybe, I honestly forget when my above review was written) and I am soo bummed but they leak! Let me be clear, I do NOT over fill and they are used maybe 3 times a week so its not like they are being abused. They still look brand new. What happens is, when you put applesauce in the packet (my son is 2 so that's mostly what goes in.... you may not have this problem with yogurt but I cant say one way or another) the sticky/watery/apple sauce water stuff leaks out past the ziplock part. I think the reason this happens is because the location of the mouth piece is SO close to the ziplock thing. So when I am helping my son get the last bites, (cuz this is a thick plastic packet so you have to give it a good squeeze to get it all) you are essentially squeezing and putting pressure on the zipper thing. IF the zipper was where I think it should be instead, which is on the bottom, then you would be squeezing foods away from the zipper at the end of a feeding and maybe wouldn't have this problem. For the money I paid I wish I could return themI'll say that even when im not squeezing anything the liquid still drips outit got one of our coolers all sticky once and it was sitting on its side but totally sealed up. Overall a big bummer and a waste of money.

Want Yummi Pouch (Set of 6) Discount?

These serve the purpose of feeding our two-year old a good serving of fruits and vegetables in smoothie form, however they're a little hard to get into and clean properlyI can always spot little bits of blueberry skins or kale down in the corners. A bottle brush might help this problem, but I don't have one! Also, the bottom fold, which is meant to expand so that the pouch can stand up on it's own, doesn't extend very well, so unless the pouch is pretty full and is set down carefully, it usually falls over. Other than that, I think these are a great idea. The caps go on and off nicely, the opening is big enough to funnel or spoon food into the pouch, and the zippers stay closed nicely. There's even a little fill line marking on the outside, so you know where to stop.

Dr. Brown's Designed To Nourish Snack-A-Pillar Dipping Cups

Dr. Brown's Designed To Nourish Snack-A-Pillar Dipping CupsI had lost my Zoli container and decided to purchase this one instead of replacing my Zoli. If you're using these as separate pieces, you can really fill them up cause they have curved bottoms and tops, so you can put more in, unfortunately when you join them together, you lose a lot of space, I can fit maybe 3 fig newtons in a container, and a few cookies in another, to me that's just a waste. So I will give this to another mother with a baby that can use it for formula or smaller snacks. I feel that this is not designed well at all. If you're looking for something to hold snacks for a toddler, I highly recommend the Zoli Sumo Snack Stack.

I have used these for home-made baby food. I freeze the cubes and then place them in this container to combine different meals on the go. It has never leaked and fits about 3-4 cubes of food. I love the rounded top which helps with frozen cubes as flat top containers usually don't allow for good closure of frozen cubes. Dry baby food also does not spill out. I have used containers in the past where the dry cereal leaks out and I usually had to put the container in a zip lock bag to contain the spillage. Not so with these. They are great and don't leak either liquids or tiny dry ingredients. They are great to keep things like freeze dried fruit or yogurt bites from absorbing moisture while on the go.

I have also used it for my 5 years old daughter that just started kindergarten. It's easy for her to open and the perfect size for some cut up fruit or veggies. They are also fun colored tops so she does not think they are too "babyish" for her.

I think I may buy more.

These snack cups are fantastic. I make my own baby food and these are perfect for taking food on the go. I stack them together or separate depending on what I have put in them. Food items that are more fluid need to either be on the top of the stack or on their own so they don't get the bottom of the other container wet with the food item, however, anything that is not liquid (avocado, chunks of fruit, cheese, meat, etc) can be stacked without a problem. Absolutely love these and am going to order another set as I use the one I have so often.

Miracles & Milestones: Table Top Playmat

Miracles & Milestones: Table Top PlaymatI bought this Table Top Playmat for my grandson who is almost ten months old. He loves this as his favorite restaurant entertainment. There is plenty for him to do on each side of the playmat. We put cereal in the top right cup for him and he stays entertained playing with the various gadgets for long periods of time. My only concern is that it doesn't stay stuck so well on tables with any rough surface and he has learned he can pull on the top portion of the plastic insert in the middle because it does not lay flat enough. But, great investment and a really fun playmat!

I bought this toy with the hope it might keep my daughter busy for part of a meal when we go out to eat. Oh my gosh! This toy keeps her busy the entire time! She has had to share the toy with my friend's baby for 4 months now b/c we couldn't find another one anywhere. Each baby would have a side and they would go crazy. We finally found another one for my friend. This toy is hardly available and it is easily in my top 5 must haves! My other friend's would agree. You MUST get this.

Waterproof Twin Pad with Strapswhen i first received it, i couldn't believe that it was waterproof because you can't see the waterproof fabric which is inside. so i poured water on it to see if it penetrates, and the other side stayed dry! so yeah, it is waterproof. i like that it is without potentially harmful chemicals and is organic. besides, who wants that plasticky backing when you sleep??

This is of a great quality, comfortable, organic (which adds to the cost a bit), and washes and dries wonderfully in the machines. It passed the waterproof test in a few night time accidents and I can't compliment enough.

The First Years Disney Princess Simple and Secure BoosterAs cute as this princess booster chair is, it does not work under standard dinning room table and chairs. The base is too tall

and your little one's legs will not fit under the table. This seat does work in restaurants very well but that is about it.

If you want a good booster chair use the Graco one found here on amazon, I have bought that one as well and it is perfect.

Good price and great for every feed!!! I have twins and it was great to get the big bulky feeding chairs out of my kitchen.

My 3 year old loves this booster seat. This was one of the only booster seats that worked for bigger kids. She is small for her age so it maybe would't work for all 3 year olds. We have a very tall kitchen table so we aren't quite ready for her to sit in the big chairs on her own but she was getting too big for her high chair. This seat is great for her to sit at the table with us but to still be strapped in. The price is right and of course the princesses make it a big hit with my daughter.

My daughter absolutely loves this booster. It fits at our table perfectly. It is the perfect transition from highchair to booster

My granddaughter is using this and it is working for her now. She is 23 months and I don't know how much longer she will be able to use it. It is actually a little too high and close to the table, which is a normal height kitchen table. I like that it has straps to hold it to the chair and straps to hold her in. It is not as wide as I thought it would be. It would be better if it was a little wider and a little lower. It might work better for smaller or younger children, but younger children are usually in a high chair. I bought this when my granddaughter did not want to sit in the high chair. Her little fat legs are very close to the table, so that is why I think it could be better if it were a little lower.

Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether

Vulli Sophie the Giraffe TeetherMy name is Shelby and this is my video review of my 5-month-old son playing with Sophie the Giraffe. We love Sophie. She is very well-made and I hope seeing Sophie in action will be helpful to others. Also, I think I repeat myself a little in the video--sorry about that!

*****UPDATE 3 AND 1/2 YEARS LATER*****

Little Theo in the video is turning 4 at the end of this month and I wanted to comment on what a long and useful life his Sophie had. She endured years of some very hard chewing and never cracked, tore, or got any holes. She got a little dirty and lost some paint, but other than that she was still going strong when Theo finally outgrew her. Her long legs turned out to be perfect for those 2 year molars as well, since they reached all the way back. I ended up throwing her away since it seemed like a really gross hand-me-down, but she was structurally in as good a condition as the day we bought her.

Now we're on baby #2 and Sophie #2. Our daughter had six teeth (four on top, two bottom) when we adopted her at 16 months old and she took to Sophie right away. If you're wondering if Sophie is a good teether for an older infant or a child who already has some teeth and a strong jaw, I give that a wholehearted "Yes!" As long as there are still teeth coming in, Sophie is fantastic.

Please be aware that no young child should be left unattended with any toy including Sophie. Because of her size and shape, she is easy to remove from a child's mouth should something go wrong. As I said, our Sophie lasted over 3 years without any cracking or splitting.

We STILL love Sophie, even after all of these years. Happy teething!

My 5 month old daughter LOVES her Sophie the Giraffe toy! This toy is absolutely wonderful in every way. Sophie is made of soft rubber and makes a pleasant-sounding squeak whenever any part of her body is squeezed, so even a young baby can elicit a reaction from the toy with minimal effort.

I don't know what it is about Sophie, but whenever my daughter plays with her, she gets very vocal and talkative.

I saw another review which referred to this toy as "a glorified dog toy". That reviewer is mistaken, and simply doesn't realize the value of this toy.

Sophie's body, while soft, has several areas of thicker rubber (the nubs on her head, her ears, and her feet) which are perfect for teething babies to gnaw on for relief.

Sophie's contrasting colors (spots) are visually stimulating to a baby.

She is easy to grip given her long, thin neck.

This toy is made of 100% natural rubber and uses food-grade paint (SAFE!).

This is a quality baby toy which will last for many years.

I would much rather pay $20 for a safe, engaging toy for my baby, than pay $5 for some piece of junk with lead paint.

We just got this for our infant, and I couldn't help but give it a bit of a test chew, myself. Now, I obviously don't have a huge deal of experience (or, memory, rather) with teething toys, but this is good stuff. Very satisfying to bite on. I'm thinking of getting a second one for myself to use in the office to deal with stress. Much better than my kid's silicone pacifier, which I've also tried.

My only complaint is that the giraffe appears to have fluorescent lip stick, which is a bit disconcerting to see in a giraffe, even a French one.

Beware! This is a fake! I would have never noticed if I didn't hold it up beside a real one. They are totally different. I figured this out because the paint began to peel off immediately and my cousin told me she had the same problem with one she got off of amazon. She went to a store and bought a replacement that will not peel. When we compared the two, the colors of the giraffe are different, the spots are different, and even the shape and legs are different. It is a shame someone is selling these fakes, or at least a bad version of the toy since the paint will come off in a child's mouth.

We've had Sophie for a little while, and until 3 days ago, I often recommended it to others. I am still a bit traumatized over what happened (and could have happened), and would definitely NOT recommend it unless a baby is secure and unable to roll over with it. I would also strongly caution anyone who owns this toy to PLEASE be careful and supervise your child at all times! I am extremely careful about my children's toys (choking hazards don't stay in the house!), yet the possibility of this hazard didn't even occur to me until it happened. Hopefully, sharing my experience will prevent a tragedy for another family.

My teething baby was chewing on Sophie and rolled onto his tummy (he is not yet able to roll from tummy to back consistently). When he rolled, Sophie's long leg jammed into his throat. Since he was on top of it and couldn't roll back, he could not get it out. I was right there and didn't even realize what was happening until he made a muffled crying sound. When I picked him up, he was already turning purple and immediately vomited and started screaming. Just another minute or two and the situation could have turned tragic. So far, neither the US distributor nor the manufacturer has responded to my attempts to contact them, but I'm hopeful they will respond and implement a design change (shorter legs?) to eliminate the possibility of this happening.
