Piyo Piyo Training Tableware, Blue

Piyo Piyo Training Tableware, BlueMy son used this for the first time today and he loves it! The great angle of this silverware makes it really easy for him to use! Today was the first day and he already is leaps ahead of what my sister's kids were at this age.

My 17 month old toddler has used these on and off for about a month. They are a great size and easy for her to hold. The fork is just prong-y enough to stab pasta without being too sharp for learning purposes. However, about 25-40% of the time, she picks up her utensils with her left hand. The curve on the heads of these are specifically set for right-handed use. (Ok, it's adorable and somewhat hilarious to watch her try to use her left hand to scoop yogurt into her mouth with this spoon... but still... frustrating for her!) The plastic is firm and not adjustable. When she gets better at using utensils, I think these will be fine, but while she's still fiddling around and learning they're not ideal.

Pros:

Great quality

Carrying case (which is handy for all sorts of things, including take-and-toss silverware)

Good price/value

Dishwasher safe

Usable but not-scary fork!

Cons:

Really only good for right-handed use

Our 2 year old loves the set and they are the perfect travel companion as well. We like them so much that we bought an additional 4 sets to use at home.

this set is great. I got the ones in pink as well. they are just the right size for my daughter, and the spoon/fork curve toward the baby so it's easier to make it into the mouth. However, this is for right handed kids though. Using left hands may not work as well....

Happy Times Crazy Crunchies, Freeze-Dried Carrot Apple Bits, 1.1-Ounce Package

Happy Times Crazy Crunchies, Freeze-Dried Carrot Apple Bits, 1.1-Ounce PackageFantastic Find! With preschool just around the corner, I'm always on the hunt for fun, tasty, healthy and organic snacks for my three year old! I've been really impressed with Happy Family's line of products and their new Happy Times items really seem to be growing with my family. Not only are each of these individually packaged, perfect for the school lunch box, they even have a cute little 'message' area where I write basic little notes or draw a little picture to surprise my little girl as she enjoys her lunch at school. Just so she knows mommy is thinking of her :) My daughter LOVES this snack and it makes me happy that a) she can open it by herself easily b) it's a healthy organic treat of a veggie c) it's organic too!

Love this item, keep them coming Happy Family Brands, we really appreciate it, what perfect preschool treat!

I was searching for organic nut and dairy free snacks for my older kids at school (8 and 6). I am tired of the processed cheese crackers and the like. I bought these at Target to make sure they liked them and they LOVED them! They said they are "sweet and tangy". I tried them too and love them as well! I grab them when I need something sweet! I love that they come in individual packets so I (or they) can drop them into lunch boxes each morning.

So great to have an organic snack for older kids that also has fruits and veggies inside!

Ew. My kids were NOT fans of this tart and just plain weird snack. Some of the packages seemed drier then others and some were sticky. The taste was just strange and the price was too much.

Well although they maybe tasty and tangy, there's only a about 5 6 small packets in the box and all of them combined together make about a handful of treats.

DON"T BUY NOT WORTH THE PRICE

The carrot apple bits are a favorite in our house. The company has some quality control issues when you get a pack of 5 one pack may be chocked full of bits and the other will have around 5. I've also had a few puffed air (no bits inside) packs. Nonetheless, my toddler loves this organic snack.

Mish Mash, Organic, Peach, 3.17 oz (pack of 6 ) ( Value Bulk Multi-pack)

Plum Organics Tots Mish Mash-Peach, 3.17-OunceIf it weren't for the expiration, this would get 5 stars. My one-year old daughter loves this food, and I love it because it's super convenient for on-the-go. Just make sure to check the expiration of the product when you get it no matter where you get it from. I received this on May 29 and it had expired Feb 26 this year.

my daughter loves squeeze applesauces, but I would like her to get more variety in her diet. These are great she loves them just as much!

My daughter doesn't eat very much food in one sitting she eats healthy (so she isn't super picky, just doesn't eat a lot). This flavor has been the one thing that she will almost always eat the whole pouch of in one go. I tasted it and think it's good too!

My little one was not so keen on fresh fruit right off the bat, so these came in handy. My son got tired of the spoon you attach so he just sucks them right down. I keep some on hand now for outings so he doesn't end up eating junk (fries, chips, etc).

They are also great to mix with yogurt, or even milk, when ready. Plus it is a great way to get organic fruits, especially if your local store doesn't have a great selection, like mine.

Great food for my toddler to feed himself and gives him great nutrition for late night snacks or any time.

Gerber Cereal Twin PackGarbo is Nestle's high-end rice cereal, this rice cereal with Nestle, after a good soak rice cereal nothing sweet for your baby (some mothers may feel the baby does not like to eat rice cereal will buy some sweetrice cereal, in fact, this baby taste is not good). Garbo relatively good bubble, not easy to agglomerate. I are first installed boiling water, then pour Garbo rice cereal to soak for a while, stir with a spoon.

KidCo Food Mill

KidCo Food MillI registered for this because I remembered my mom grinding my "baby" sister's food 20+ years ago. I figured it could not hurt to have.

My little one is almost 1 year old and still doesn't have teeth. She gums things very well, but meats are a little harder to tear apart. (Note, this was great when we started solids... it mashed bananas and took the strings out of sweet potatoes to give them a smoother texture than just mashing with a fork.) We're introducing her to meats slowly, and anytime I've tried to give her canned commercial meats, she has scoffed at them and pushed them away. Well, tonight she eyed my pork chop jealously, as if her cooked mixed veggies were not enough. I ground up between 1-2 ounces and added some water to it to smooth the texture, and she LOVED it. She could have eaten more, but she had plenty to eat in addition to the meat. Although it took a little longer to grind the meat, I did so sufficiently.

This grinder washes up well.. I rinse it off, take it apart, and throw it in the dishwasher. I have had no problems with this grinder. It does it's job as well as I would expect any non-electrical grinder to work. I wish I had the tote, but a ziplock baggie works fine.

I would also like to add that I had to contact Kidco's customer service regarding finding replacement hardware for a baby gate, and they were prompt and professional.

I love this food grinder. It is great because it travels well (to restaurants and outside events) and doesn't need electricity and is great for the home too. This is a great way to use the foods you are already preparing for your baby's meals and a great way to save money from baby food sold in the jar. Growing up we had two of these because my sister was handicapp and could only eat pureed foods.

Please note that this grinder is to be used for first foods (not chunky foods). Because fruit and vegetables naturally have a lot of water some of them might need a thickener add (i.e. Thick-it) if you find it too watery. Also foods with a lot of fiber or meat may need be harder to push through this is a manual grinder. I find it useful to add some broth/soup/gravy to meat after it has been ground to make it more pleasing to eat.

I also recommend Ellyn Satter's books "How to Get Your Kid to Eat ... But Not Too Much" and "Secrets of Feeding a Healthy Family" for guidelines on how and what to feed children.

The first food I wanted to use was broccoli. It would work wonderfully, then seemed to get jammed, work again, etc. It does work, but with more effort than I had expected. I tried preparing the food to be softer, but I encountered the same problems. I tried nectarines another day, and it made it very soupy. I guess I wish there was a way to adjust the mechanism to grind the food to different consistencies. My 9 month old son can handle chunkier foods, but with this mill the food is very liquidy. The size and minimal amount of parts/assembly make it very convenient and very easy to move. Also the entire mill can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

Every time I pass the baby food display in a store, I think of how many millions of dollars parents could be saving, if they would just make their own baby food, rather than paying top price for those cute little jars! I take every opportunity to tell parents about using a hand baby food mill. The $10 I paid for my baby food mill was definitely one of the best investments I ever made! I purchased it for my first of six children, and just LOVED it! I found that it was much, much more convenient than a blender, for several reasons. A blender is fine for preparing large batches of baby food to freeze, but not a bit practical for making a single serving for your baby. The blender is much more difficult to clean, not very practical to take to the table, and it is difficult to get all of the food out of the bottom of it. The noise of it doesn't make it especially handy for table use, either. The hand grinder is perfectly quiet, makes use of every bit of food that you put into it, and can be taken and used anywhere! It is very handy for feeding the baby out of, directly, and the parts are easy to hand wash or can be thrown in the dishwasher. Also, it is very easy to feed the baby some of the same foods that you have prepared for your whole family. The food does not come out pureed, like with a blender, but I found that my babies preferred to have a little texture. It can be used on almost anything except for hard, dry foods, like chips, or taco shells. Many harder foods, like fresh apples, should be diced first. Some foods come out better with the addition of a little water or other liquid.

My grinder is in retirement now, after 14 years of use, but it is still in good working order. I am saving it for the day when I will have grandchildren to use it for! I just can't say enough good about it, and hope that many parents will try it. It makes an excellent baby gift, too!

This isn't the best for babies under 6months... it doesn't get foods as smooth as the step 1 foods you buy in the store. But keeping that in mind...

This comes in very handy. I started grinding foods in this with my 6 month old. It is easier for me to grind some food for him right at the table so he can eat some of the things we are eating, rather than prepare and store his food in advance.

I decided that one isn't enough. I prefer to run things through the dishwasher so they are more sterilized than washing by hand and I tend to use this for two meals a day. I don't like to feel pressed to load and run the dishwasher before dinner... It usually isn't a problem, but things are hectic at times. Its also nice to have one clean for traveling.

Organic Cotton Non-Waterproof Flannel Protector Pads

Flannel Twin Pad with StrapsIt's not the fanciest mattress pad, but it keeps the bed warm and it's non-toxic. We purchased the Naturepedic waterproof bed, so we didn't need the waterproof mattress pad. The pad is a little short for the bed, and it looks cheap because of the straps (versus completely wrapping around the bed like a fitted sheet). All-in-all, I'd buy it again.
