Nuby Feeding Bowl

Nuby Feeding Bowl, 3D MonsterThese bowls are cute, fun and they're a great size. I purchased the Monster and the Flower, and both are good quality. I tend to prefer the flower bowl because the green leaf design is made of a tacky, non-skid rubber. The Monster bowl doesn't have a non-skid bottom, FYI.

I got a bunch of fun plates, bowls and flatware for my picky toddler to help encourage him to eatI am pretty sure it worked, too. This is a cute and sturdy little bowl that does the job.

Baby Cereal - Buckwheat with Milk

Baby Cereal - Buckwheat with MilkMy son loves this cereal, we've been eating it for half a year already, mixing sometimes with oatmeal or wheat cereal, adding fruits to it. We've started to give the cereal when my baby was 6months old and never had an issue with allergy.

Earth's Best Organic 2nd Fruit Variety Pack, 4-Ounce Jars (Pack of 12)

Earth's Best Organic 2nd Fruit Variety Pack, 4-Ounce Jars****Latest Update****

We are now past the baby food stage so I may have missed this if it was formally announced, but I recently heard that they switched packaging in late 2011 to be completely BPA free. I confirmed this with customer service. Leaving the remaining review as it was...

*********************

My wife had made her own baby food for our daughter for the first eight months. Then, when our daughter was going to begin daycare, there was a certain convenience factor of being about to send in jars of baby food for her and so we bought Earth's Best. It was organic, and figured to be the closest bought brand to what she had been making herself. The variety packs are a nice, easy way to stock different kinds for our baby to enjoy... and enjoy she did for several of the flavors, though some she hated as well. All in all, we were pleased, and baby seemed pleased.

Needless to say, I was pretty surprised to read the review about BPA in the lids. I spent some time trying to verify this myself. A lot of different blogs stated it, and while I couldn't find anything definitive, here's what bothered me: Clearly Earth's Best knows people are concerned about BPA in their lids... their own facebook site is littered with people asking this same question. The admin answers these the same way... food safety and baby health is of the highest priority, call us to discuss. That's only slightly paraphrased. Going to their website, they have zero articles on BPA and none in the FAQs section either... nothing. I'm not worried enough about the issue to stop using what we purchased, but I would have felt a whole lot better about the company and their products if they would acknowledge parents' concerns and tell parents... something. Hey, we check our food in laboratory testing regularly and the the amount of BPA found in our food is X, which is so low, there are no health concerns... just say something... anything. Do you really want the onus on the customer to contact you to keep using your product?

As I was taking the time to review their product, I decided I would call them to give them a fair chance to explain. Something, I likely wouldn't have done if I wasn't writing a review. Their office was closed... 9AM 7PM est. Not the most convenient times for a working parent, but I will attempt to follow up and update this accordingly.

***UPDATED (old)****

Just spoke to someone from customer service. She says that the liner that comes into contact with the food is BPA free, but that there is another section of the lid behind this liner, that does contain BPA, but that section of the lid does not come in contact with the food. I'm sure not everyone will be okay with that answer, but I'm ok with it. I still think it should be an answer that's readily available to consumers without calling them, but I will say there was no hold time at least.

I ordered this because I really like this brand and I have never had any issue with them. My son usually like all the flavors. I ordered this and the pears were sour/spoiled. The other flavors my son refused to eat. I am sure there was something wrong with it. So I am not sure what happened but I will NOT be buying these online anymore.

Buy Earth's Best Organic 2nd Fruit Variety Pack, 4-Ounce Jars (Pack of 12) Now

I have been very pleased with this variety pack of baby food. The pack contains three each of pears, peaches oatmeal banana, apples and apricots, and peaches bananas and raspberries. My 6 1/2 month old daughter loves all of them, especially the peaches bananas and raspberries! I have been very satisfied with Earth's best with one exception. The metal lids have a lining that contains BPA (as do ALL lids on glass babyfood jars), so if you're set on staying away from BPA, you'll want to get your baby food from companies that make pouches, like HappyBaby and Plum Organics. I make a lot of my own babyfood, so I feel that feeding her SOME food from glass jars is acceptable, especially for varieties that I can't make. I do also buy a lot of HappyBaby, and I'm very satisfied with the quality there also. All in all though, a very nice variety of good tasting fruits!

I was disappointed to find out that the LIDS of Earth's Best jarred foods are coated with an epoxy lining that contains BPA :(

I thought I was avoiding the whole BPA issue because these are in glass rather than plastic containers. If it's in the lids, it's going to get in the food as the food moves around in the jar during packaging, shipping, storage, etc. I was planning on being a devoted Earth's Best jarred food user because it was organic and in glass, but then I found out about the BPA. As a note, if BPA doesn't bother you, most of Earth's Best food is tasty.

Babys Only Organic Dairy Based Toddler Formula

Babys Only Organic Dairy Based Toddler FormulaWhen I suffered from a low milk supply with my 3rd child I tried many formulas until I found this one. My baby refused all others. This one is the closest tasting to breast milk, has the best ingredients, and spit up is no where near as foul as with other formulas.

It can cause a bit of constipation, so I recommend talking with your ped about it. Mine recommended giving my baby 2oz of prune juice 2x a day. (And he was a Preemie) It does bubble up a LOT if you shake it up when mixing. Use a spoon instead, or add 2-3 drops of gas drops into the bottle. (Wal-Mart sells the generic form of Mylicon for around $4 and you get double the amount, instead of $12)

I have had another child since I first found this formula and I would use nothing else! Oh, and remember to save the UPC codes to mail in...you get 1 can free for every 12 you buy!

Update 12/12: In November 2012 Consumer Reports tested Nature's One Dairy and Soy toddler formulas. "The original powdered samples we tested of dairyand soy-based formulas had inorganic arsenic that averaged 40.6 ppb for dairy and 77.7 ppb for soy. When we tested the new versions of the two dairy formulas, the levels were either undetectable or nearly so. The company says its new formulation has use-by dates of January 2014 (Dairy with DHA & ARA), July 2015 (Dairy), or later." Please see comments section for the CR link with their results.

Indeed, steps taken by Nature's One in recent months, including sourcing more pristine rice from outside the US and a new filtration process, made this possible. Kudos to CEO Jay Highman and his company for taking safety and quality control so seriously and reworking their formulas.

Original review (2/12):

I was looking for a formula for my toddlers and was shocked to learn today that those made with organic brown rice syrup contain particularly high levels of arsenic, compared with products without this syrup.

Seventeen baby formulas were tested in the Darmouth College study. According to the Today show, "Two of the infant formulas contained organic brown rice syrup as their primary ingredient. These products had arsenic levels 20 to 30 times that of the other infant formulas.. The amount of arsenic consumed by an infant could be significant depending on which formula they drank.. arsenic exposure early in life may increase the risk for health problems later on."

The study, published in Environmental Health Perspectives, indicates that organic infant milk formula containing OBRS as the primary ingredient had total concentrations up to six times the EPA safe drinking water limit.

The formulas tested were not named but a quick search turned up that Baby's Only organic toddler formula both dairy and soy uses brown rice syrup as its main source of carbohydrate. I for one will be passing on this product.

After a 9 month long research on organic baby formulas,I ordered this one for our 9 month old son,who was exclusively breastfed since birth.I made my decision based on the fact that Baby's only formula does not contain Life's DHA,wich is produced from algae and one of the process in manufacturing it involves bleaching.the so very popular DHA and ARA,are now in almost every infant's formula, claimed to be part of important brain and eye development.Somehow the bleaching process made me insecure and that is why I chose this Formula instead of Earth's best who contain Life's DHA.As I mentioned aboveour son was exclusively breast fed for 9 months. However he liked the formula from the first bottle we gave him.It has pleasant smell and taste,it foams quite a lot,but if let to stand for about 5 min the foam disappears.

I contacted Nature's One,based on the reviews that I read, said that you have to order scoops, because they were not included in the box of formula.that turned out to be old information, now every box has a scoop inside. My experience with the company's customer service was very pleasant-they sent me 4 scoops, even though the boxes that I got already have scoops included.

Overall we do not have any complains about this formula, our baby loves it and we feel better knowing that we give him The Best Organic Formula in the US market!!!!!

Just thought I would let you all know...you can get this formula WAY CHEAPER!!! I use this for my son and I absolutely love it...and he does, too. I go to a local all natural/organic grocery store and get this formula and they give you a case discount (a case is 6 cans even in the store)...so I pay $55 for 6 cans and they are selling 6 cans on here for like $84! That is just outrageous to me! So, I would check around at local all natural markets before buying this formula from amazon! Not EVERYTHING is cheaper here! :-)

Unable to breastfeed my foster baby, I wanted to give her a healthy start. I wanted to find a formula that didn't contain Corn Syrup as the first ingredient!!!! I researched, talked to friends and found this. My foster baby is tolerating it perfectly and it is actually cheaper at Sprouts than the crap she was getting at Walmart. It is even cheaper to buy by the case direct from their website and you don't pay shipping by the case. I am proud to be giving this special baby the healthiest start possible.

Jaq Jaq Bird 2 Count Perfect Snack Pouch, Lavender Chevron

Jaq Jaq Bird 2 Count Perfect Snack Pouch, Lavender ChevronWe love these cute and handy bags that we can reuse over and over again. They hold up much better than the standard plastic zipper bag. I keep some small toys for my kids in the big bag we carry to the pool each time we go and usually have to replace plastic baggies every month or so. The Jaq Jaq Bird bag is easy to find in the bigger bag, I can see us finding many more uses for these bags as time goes by.

Lassig Backpack Diaper Bag

Lassig Casual Messenger Diaper Bag Colorpatch ,chocoThis diaper back is very useful as a backpack and has alot of handy items including a thermal bottle holder, wet/dry pockets and a changing pad. I used the bag one time to go to a festival. I wanted my husband to feel a little more manly than carrying the pink flowered diaper bag that my sister gave me. It worked well however, after only one use for about 3-4 hours, the stitching is coming apart at the top of the backpack. It was too expensive to only get one use out of but I guess I'll have to suck it up!

It's the perfect size (not too big not too small), it's light. It looks great (I have the one in Mesh Black). The fabric is free from PVC, AZO, Phtalates, Nickel and Cadmium. It's comfortable to wear. There are so many different pockets, elasticated bottle/drink spouches, a small detachable zip pouch, insulated bottle holder(separeted or integrated), a wet pocket, a padded changing mat,... The fabric of the changing mat and the wet pocket is easy to clean and antimicrobial. It has two separate carabiners for attaching to a stroller. I just love it and I'm gonna buy a mini backpack for my daughter from this company.

UPPABaby Vista/Cruz Snack Tray

UPPABaby Vista/Cruz Snack TrayJust received my Snack tray to fit onto my Cruz. It looks fantastic, well made and was easy enough to attach the brackets to the sides of the Toddler seat. Tray itself clips on nice and easy, and was pleasantly surprised to see you can detach one side and the tray swings out, this will help when strapping in baby.

The only problem I had was that I went to detach the brackets to put it all away (DS is 6mo and tray isn't needed yet) As I wrapped my fingers around to the back of the bracket to unclip it, as it gave way to pop open my thumb got caught in the front hinge! It cut into the pad of my thumb deep enough to draw blood. I've since taken another look and played around with the brackets and cannot figure out another way of holding onto it and unclipping, without my thumb being on the front.....

Not enough of an issue to return in my mind, since once I put it on when DS is a bit older I simply won't remove the brackets again... but be careful!!

Adding this tray to our Uppababy stroller was great! It's perfect to have when giving my little one a snack. It also allows my little guy to learn to pick up things off the tray. Only thing is the tray is a bit hard to attach and reattach...I have to force it on and off. I wish this came standard with the stroller.

I was so excited when the tray came out for the Cruz as my lo is 8 mos old and loves to have snacks! But when we received it and attached it to the stroller, it is so high that he has to reach up to touch the tray. Are we doing something wrong? We attached it where it shows on the box so we think we're doing it right. If we did it right then why is the tray so high? He may not be able to use it until he's older and taller.

They shipped the product that was promised. I received this product very quickly. This snack tray is a must when owning a Uppababy Vista.

Beware of the UPPAbaby Stroller Parent Organizer made by Uppababy that attaches to the top of the Vista handle bar portion of the stroller. I almost purchaded it and it would have been returned, I'll tell you why... Simply because you can not recline the child seat when it is attached. The seat must always stay in the up right position. If you need a personal cup holder, just purchase the Uppababy cup holder that clip on at the top side of the stroller. Hope this was helpful.

It is nice to have a snack tray option and looks great on the stroller. My one huge complaint is that my 13 month old daughter can pop out the clear tray part very easily, sending her snack everywhere. Snapping it back in allows for pinched fingers very easily as well. It got so bad today, I just took it off and threw it in the stroller basket. For the price of this tray, I hoped it would be a lot more functional.

The Devyn Bag

The Devyn Bag - Diaper, Travel & Carry-All Bag - available in Aqua and PurpleI'm a recent stay-at-home mom with two kids, and I'm SO happy to finally have one bag that meets all of my needs. For me, this bag functions as a diaper bag + cooler + laptop bag. I use this bag EVERY day (and I love it so much, I've purchased it as a gift for two other moms-to-be!) I really like that it has 3 different compartments designed to meet different functions. I use the insulated cooler compartment every day (since I never go anywhere with my kids without snacks and drinks!) I was skeptical of the ice packs at first, but discovered on Day 1 that they work great and keep everything ooober cool. I also like the protective laptop compartment. It's been nice to have my laptop with me on longer excursions (I use it to entertain my 4 year old on plane trips) or when I have both kids at an organized activity and actually have a few minutes to myself to catch up on emails. Also, I've used the laptop compartment as extra storage for other items on days I do not want/need my laptop with me. I use the outer compartment for diapers and wipes, and I use the pockets within that compartment for my purse items. The shoulder strap is adjustable and very comfortable every way I've worn it. I wasn't sure I'd like the velcro closure on the outer flap, but have discovered it fastens very securely AND serves 2 critical functions for me. First, it provides quick and easy access to the inner compartments (since I can get into the bag with just one hand, I can easily grab the extra binkie for the crying baby or sippy cup for the parched preschooler without needing to pull the car over to free both hands.) Second, I found that the velcro flap allows variability in the bag's "stuffing capacity". The bag's fabric and manufacture appear very high quality and durable and so far, have held up fabulously to the daily wear and tear I put the bag through. Oh and how could I forget?! My very favorite part of this bag is the small outer pocket on the side. Since this pocket is the ultimate in "easy access" I use this for my phone and keys. I definitely recommend this bag for any mom who ever leaves the house with her kiddos Totally worth the money to have a durable (and stylish) bag that meets so many different functions.

I had high hopes for the Devyn Bag and it has exceeded every one of them! As a stay-at-home mom of a two-year-old, I am constantly on the go and never without the Devyn. First of all, it holds SO much without weighing me down or feeling bulky. I typically use the cold storage section to stash snacks/lunch for my daughter and me during the day; the middle (laptop) section holds a changing pad, dipes, and wipes when I'm not traveling with my computer; and the outer compartment is amazingly roomy and can fit snacks, my wallet, sunscreen, and even an extra change of clothes for my daughter in case of emergencies. I love that I can lift the flap quickly and find what I need in no time at all ... a small convenience that means a lot when juggling a toddler. Oh and there's even room for a small Starbucks or other coffee cup in the outer section it fits nicely into one of the built-in pockets-bonus! All of the compartments are well thought out and the perfect size for their contents. It keeps me organized and makes sure that I never have to dig around to find anything. Another wonderful feature of the Devyn Bag is that it's very durable and is easy to clean. I've gone through countless diaper bags in the past some pretty pricey that don't stay looking nice for very long -or they fall apart. The Devyn Bag is made to withstand the rigors of travel or life in general with kids. And it couldn't be easier to clean ... just a swipe of a damp towel and it looks like new. All that said, it's a really stylish bag as well. It looks just as good in the office as it does at the park. I would recommend this bag to any parent ... from traveling, working, stay-at-home moms, those with toddlers or older children, and first-time moms with a newborn. It's versatile enough that I love it for use with my toddler and will enjoy using it when I have my second child to store breast milk. It's the ultimate bag!

UTENSILS GRBR TDL K CUTL SET3CT

Gerber NUK BPA Free Kiddy Cutlery - BlueOur 22 mo old loves this cutlery. They make it very easy for her to eat by herself due to the chunky handles. The fork is sharp enough to stab food but not too sharp. The spoon is adequate for scooping and the knife cuts soft food.

Sprout Organic Baby Food Stage 3 Herbed Vegetables with Roasted Turkey -- 5.5 oz

Sprout Organic Baby Food Stage 3 Herbed Vegetables with Roasted Turkey -- 5.5 ozWe decided get this when we wanted to train our daughter on more chunky food. Sprouts Stage 3 foods are definitely coarser and chunkier than other brands like Earth's Best and Plum. But what we (and my daughter) did not like about it was the overwhelming smell of the food which led her to throw up or gag every time we gave this to her.

I tried a bite out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised by how aromatic and delicious this is! My 9 month old loves it too, but she also likes spicy and herby foods (probably because I eat a lot of garlic). It is VERY potent, so I can see why a lot of babies wouldn't like it, but if you have a little one who seems bored of Gerber's cardboardy "mixed dinners" then I strongly recommend. Garlic is a great food to introduce to your babies anyways because it's loaded with nutrients and fights infection, and if you're worried about the smell just mix in some chopped parsley.

My baby has a high tolerance for most foods but this product literally made him throw up. There are too too many spices, especially garlic, in this product. I should have known better but I spooned a little into my baby's mouth and he swallowed some before he realized how horrible the flavor was for his young senses. He gagged and gagged then he threw it up. I'm returning the unused packets tomorrow. There was more garlic in this meal than on the garlic bread at your favorite Italian restaurant. What were they thinking?

organicKidz 2 Pack Wide Mouthed Nipples

organicKidz 2 Pack Wide Mouthed Nipples, Medium FlowI had the Fast flow that came with the bottle I bought and thought wow, this is way too big, maybe the medium flow will be better for my six month old. I was wrong, this one is also way too big! I am assuming this is intended for people who put cereal in their baby bottles, we don't do that. This hole is way too big even for fast flow, baby chocked on the milk first time I tried using it when he turned 9 months because it was still way too much. I don't recommend these nipples at all, stick with Mam or other brands that have normal sized, small holes so baby does the work and can transition to sippy cup easier.

Moby Wrap Baby Carrier Designs

Moby Wrap Baby Carrier - KoiI've had a Moby wrap since my daughter was born in Dec. of '09. She was a very tiny baby and I loved that I could put her in it all snuggled up just like she used to be when I was still pregnant with her. Since then, I've carried her in it to the store, the mall, the Zoo, brother's t-ball games, Easter Egg hunts, you name it. She was being a fussy pants yesterday so I just put her in it and she was instantly calm. At almost 14 lbs, she's not that heavy, but carry her around for a while and your back will feel it! Not with the Moby. The weight is disributed so evenly you really feel so comfy carrying a baby around. There are so many holds. I've used almost all of them including the breastfeeding hold! I haven't used any of the holds for back carrying yet because she's not quite ready. I just used the sling carry yesterday at WalMart and loved how easy it was to get her in and out for a quick run in. Just put your Moby on before you leave the house and stick your baby in when you arrive at your destination. I recommend getting a neutral or dark color if you're gonna be out and about with it. I bought pink first And felt a little conspicuous in public. Then I bought black and I guess if I don't have her in it people just think it's some kind of new trend! I truly couldn't live without my Moby! It's a wonderful way to bond with your baby!

My little one needed to be held for pretty much the first 2 months of her life. I tried using my Ergo carrier with the insert to regain freedom with my hands and arms, but it's just too hot in the summer to wear. In desperation I bought the Moby because of all the possible baby positions it boasted. I figured my daughter would at least like one of them. The first time I put her in the wrap, she calmed right down. Now at 4 months she calms at the sight of the wrap and falls asleep within seconds of getting in. The Moby wrap is like having an "off switch" for my little one and has become a part of our bedtime routine. I also love the owl print!

The Moby wrap is a great way to hold your baby and still get things done. There's something comforting for both Mom (or Dad!) and baby about being so close. The Moby came in especially handy when we were out and about at places where the stroller wasn't an option. I found that even when I could bring the stroller it was easier to wrap my son up and carry him with me.

It worked great until my son got to be about 18 pounds, then the stretchiness of the fabric meant he'd start to droop after a while and wasn't as comfortable to carry. At that point we moved to a soft structured ergonomic carrier. Until then, though, I couldn't live without it!

I absolutely recommend this wrap for any new mom! This is one of my favorite baby items.

What I like:

Fussy baby will calm almost instantly when placed in wrap

Soft, washable fabric

Attractive designs

Fairly easy to use, takes a little bit of practice getting baby in and out especially when they can't hold their head up on their own.

Comfortable to wear

Fits all sizes of people and no pesky straps to adjust

Great for grocery shopping when you need your hands free

Great for very young babies because of the soft fabric

Versatile: can go from newborn to larger babies easily

Dislike:

Hot to wear in warmer weather

Slightly burdensome to put on when you're out since its such a large piece of fabric

Want Moby Wrap Baby Carrier Designs Discount?

I wanted to love this. I read all the attachment parenting advice on how this is more comfortable and safer for babies than other carriers, and bought it before my daughter was born thinking I'd be a master baby wearer and prefer this beautifully personalized responsible wrap to all other carriers. I was wrong.

While we did find a carrier to be one of the best tools we had to calm down a colicky baby, the Moby Wrap was not The One. We tried the Moby Wrap, the BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Synergy Black, Mesh (which I wanted to find fault with but ended up loving), and a Peanut Shell Boho Chic Paisley Baby Sling, Blue/Brown, Large. The Bjorn is by far our favorite and the only one we still use at 6 months. Our daughter seems really comfortable in it and often falls asleep. Despite what baby wearing 'experts' say, I believe that if a baby is uncomfortable he or she will not hesitate to let you know. My baby screamed more when I tried to insert her into the Moby Wrap than the Bjorn.

The biggest advantage to the Moby Wrap is that you can use it before your baby hits 8 pounds (I think that's the minimum for the Bjorn, although we mistakenly thought it was 10 pounds so have lots of pre-Bjorn experience). Surprisingly, we found the sling (our only post-birth purchase) was the best option during the tiny baby phase. At first I was terrified of using a sling incorrectly and permanently damaging my child, but it was actually super easy.

The thing is, you'll most want to use a baby carrier when your baby is feeling fussy and wants to be close to you. However, that's exactly when you WON'T have time to tie and adjust a Moby Wrap. If you're thinking of buying the Moby wrap and haven't given birth yet, I strongly advise holding off until you've actually experienced the stress of hearing your baby scream for you to pick her up and not being able to help her; you won't know if you have what it takes to struggle under biological pressure to tie knots in an 8 foot long piece of fabric and stuff your newborn into it until you hear your own baby's cry. This is why I know lots of first time moms who bought Moby wraps, and have never actually seen any of them using one.

That all said, it's beautiful and cozy and the truly brave/dedicated will probably master it and love it for all the reasons I thought I would!
