Earth's Best Organic 2nd Fruit Variety Pack, 4-Ounce Jars (Pack of 12)
We are now past the baby food stage so I may have missed this if it was formally announced, but I recently heard that they switched packaging in late 2011 to be completely BPA free. I confirmed this with customer service. Leaving the remaining review as it was...
*********************
My wife had made her own baby food for our daughter for the first eight months. Then, when our daughter was going to begin daycare, there was a certain convenience factor of being about to send in jars of baby food for her and so we bought Earth's Best. It was organic, and figured to be the closest bought brand to what she had been making herself. The variety packs are a nice, easy way to stock different kinds for our baby to enjoy... and enjoy she did for several of the flavors, though some she hated as well. All in all, we were pleased, and baby seemed pleased.
Needless to say, I was pretty surprised to read the review about BPA in the lids. I spent some time trying to verify this myself. A lot of different blogs stated it, and while I couldn't find anything definitive, here's what bothered me: Clearly Earth's Best knows people are concerned about BPA in their lids... their own facebook site is littered with people asking this same question. The admin answers these the same way... food safety and baby health is of the highest priority, call us to discuss. That's only slightly paraphrased. Going to their website, they have zero articles on BPA and none in the FAQs section either... nothing. I'm not worried enough about the issue to stop using what we purchased, but I would have felt a whole lot better about the company and their products if they would acknowledge parents' concerns and tell parents... something. Hey, we check our food in laboratory testing regularly and the the amount of BPA found in our food is X, which is so low, there are no health concerns... just say something... anything. Do you really want the onus on the customer to contact you to keep using your product?
As I was taking the time to review their product, I decided I would call them to give them a fair chance to explain. Something, I likely wouldn't have done if I wasn't writing a review. Their office was closed... 9AM 7PM est. Not the most convenient times for a working parent, but I will attempt to follow up and update this accordingly.
***UPDATED (old)****
Just spoke to someone from customer service. She says that the liner that comes into contact with the food is BPA free, but that there is another section of the lid behind this liner, that does contain BPA, but that section of the lid does not come in contact with the food. I'm sure not everyone will be okay with that answer, but I'm ok with it. I still think it should be an answer that's readily available to consumers without calling them, but I will say there was no hold time at least.I ordered this because I really like this brand and I have never had any issue with them. My son usually like all the flavors. I ordered this and the pears were sour/spoiled. The other flavors my son refused to eat. I am sure there was something wrong with it. So I am not sure what happened but I will NOT be buying these online anymore.

I have been very pleased with this variety pack of baby food. The pack contains three each of pears, peaches oatmeal banana, apples and apricots, and peaches bananas and raspberries. My 6 1/2 month old daughter loves all of them, especially the peaches bananas and raspberries! I have been very satisfied with Earth's best with one exception. The metal lids have a lining that contains BPA (as do ALL lids on glass babyfood jars), so if you're set on staying away from BPA, you'll want to get your baby food from companies that make pouches, like HappyBaby and Plum Organics. I make a lot of my own babyfood, so I feel that feeding her SOME food from glass jars is acceptable, especially for varieties that I can't make. I do also buy a lot of HappyBaby, and I'm very satisfied with the quality there also. All in all though, a very nice variety of good tasting fruits!Read Best Reviews of Earth's Best Organic 2nd Fruit Variety Pack, 4-Ounce Jars (Pack of 12) Here
I was disappointed to find out that the LIDS of Earth's Best jarred foods are coated with an epoxy lining that contains BPA :(I thought I was avoiding the whole BPA issue because these are in glass rather than plastic containers. If it's in the lids, it's going to get in the food as the food moves around in the jar during packaging, shipping, storage, etc. I was planning on being a devoted Earth's Best jarred food user because it was organic and in glass, but then I found out about the BPA. As a note, if BPA doesn't bother you, most of Earth's Best food is tasty.

My little guy ate this all up before I could even write a review! :)Babys Only Organic Dairy Based Toddler Formula
It can cause a bit of constipation, so I recommend talking with your ped about it. Mine recommended giving my baby 2oz of prune juice 2x a day. (And he was a Preemie) It does bubble up a LOT if you shake it up when mixing. Use a spoon instead, or add 2-3 drops of gas drops into the bottle. (Wal-Mart sells the generic form of Mylicon for around $4 and you get double the amount, instead of $12)
I have had another child since I first found this formula and I would use nothing else! Oh, and remember to save the UPC codes to mail in...you get 1 can free for every 12 you buy!Update 12/12: In November 2012 Consumer Reports tested Nature's One Dairy and Soy toddler formulas. "The original powdered samples we tested of dairyand soy-based formulas had inorganic arsenic that averaged 40.6 ppb for dairy and 77.7 ppb for soy. When we tested the new versions of the two dairy formulas, the levels were either undetectable or nearly so. The company says its new formulation has use-by dates of January 2014 (Dairy with DHA & ARA), July 2015 (Dairy), or later." Please see comments section for the CR link with their results.
Indeed, steps taken by Nature's One in recent months, including sourcing more pristine rice from outside the US and a new filtration process, made this possible. Kudos to CEO Jay Highman and his company for taking safety and quality control so seriously and reworking their formulas.
Original review (2/12):
I was looking for a formula for my toddlers and was shocked to learn today that those made with organic brown rice syrup contain particularly high levels of arsenic, compared with products without this syrup.
Seventeen baby formulas were tested in the Darmouth College study. According to the Today show, "Two of the infant formulas contained organic brown rice syrup as their primary ingredient. These products had arsenic levels 20 to 30 times that of the other infant formulas.. The amount of arsenic consumed by an infant could be significant depending on which formula they drank.. arsenic exposure early in life may increase the risk for health problems later on."
The study, published in Environmental Health Perspectives, indicates that organic infant milk formula containing OBRS as the primary ingredient had total concentrations up to six times the EPA safe drinking water limit.
The formulas tested were not named but a quick search turned up that Baby's Only organic toddler formula both dairy and soy uses brown rice syrup as its main source of carbohydrate. I for one will be passing on this product.

After a 9 month long research on organic baby formulas,I ordered this one for our 9 month old son,who was exclusively breastfed since birth.I made my decision based on the fact that Baby's only formula does not contain Life's DHA,wich is produced from algae and one of the process in manufacturing it involves bleaching.the so very popular DHA and ARA,are now in almost every infant's formula, claimed to be part of important brain and eye development.Somehow the bleaching process made me insecure and that is why I chose this Formula instead of Earth's best who contain Life's DHA.As I mentioned aboveour son was exclusively breast fed for 9 months. However he liked the formula from the first bottle we gave him.It has pleasant smell and taste,it foams quite a lot,but if let to stand for about 5 min the foam disappears.I contacted Nature's One,based on the reviews that I read, said that you have to order scoops, because they were not included in the box of formula.that turned out to be old information, now every box has a scoop inside. My experience with the company's customer service was very pleasant-they sent me 4 scoops, even though the boxes that I got already have scoops included.
Overall we do not have any complains about this formula, our baby loves it and we feel better knowing that we give him The Best Organic Formula in the US market!!!!!

Just thought I would let you all know...you can get this formula WAY CHEAPER!!! I use this for my son and I absolutely love it...and he does, too. I go to a local all natural/organic grocery store and get this formula and they give you a case discount (a case is 6 cans even in the store)...so I pay $55 for 6 cans and they are selling 6 cans on here for like $84! That is just outrageous to me! So, I would check around at local all natural markets before buying this formula from amazon! Not EVERYTHING is cheaper here! :-)Want Babys Only Organic Dairy Based Toddler Formula Discount?
Unable to breastfeed my foster baby, I wanted to give her a healthy start. I wanted to find a formula that didn't contain Corn Syrup as the first ingredient!!!! I researched, talked to friends and found this. My foster baby is tolerating it perfectly and it is actually cheaper at Sprouts than the crap she was getting at Walmart. It is even cheaper to buy by the case direct from their website and you don't pay shipping by the case. I am proud to be giving this special baby the healthiest start possible.Jaq Jaq Bird 2 Count Perfect Snack Pouch, Lavender Chevron

I really like this backpack. It is pretty and it has a lot of room inside for all of my needs for 3 toddlers. There are lot of great pockets and it the insulated bottle holder is nice, especially since it is detachable. I just got the bag today, so hopefully it will last a long time.I bought this as a gift to my sister who has 2 little ones and she loves it! Enough room to pack for 2 and plenty of pockets.Very good diaper bag when traveling long distance especially flight travel with kids. Since its a backpack, i don't have to worry about the bag slipping down the shoulder when i have to pick up other luggage or any other things. Also the bag is very spacious.UPPABaby Vista/Cruz Snack Tray
The only problem I had was that I went to detach the brackets to put it all away (DS is 6mo and tray isn't needed yet) As I wrapped my fingers around to the back of the bracket to unclip it, as it gave way to pop open my thumb got caught in the front hinge! It cut into the pad of my thumb deep enough to draw blood. I've since taken another look and played around with the brackets and cannot figure out another way of holding onto it and unclipping, without my thumb being on the front.....
Not enough of an issue to return in my mind, since once I put it on when DS is a bit older I simply won't remove the brackets again... but be careful!!Adding this tray to our Uppababy stroller was great! It's perfect to have when giving my little one a snack. It also allows my little guy to learn to pick up things off the tray. Only thing is the tray is a bit hard to attach and reattach...I have to force it on and off. I wish this came standard with the stroller.

I was so excited when the tray came out for the Cruz as my lo is 8 mos old and loves to have snacks! But when we received it and attached it to the stroller, it is so high that he has to reach up to touch the tray. Are we doing something wrong? We attached it where it shows on the box so we think we're doing it right. If we did it right then why is the tray so high? He may not be able to use it until he's older and taller.Read Best Reviews of UPPABaby Vista/Cruz Snack Tray Here
They shipped the product that was promised. I received this product very quickly. This snack tray is a must when owning a Uppababy Vista.Beware of the UPPAbaby Stroller Parent Organizer made by Uppababy that attaches to the top of the Vista handle bar portion of the stroller. I almost purchaded it and it would have been returned, I'll tell you why... Simply because you can not recline the child seat when it is attached. The seat must always stay in the up right position. If you need a personal cup holder, just purchase the Uppababy cup holder that clip on at the top side of the stroller. Hope this was helpful. It is nice to have a snack tray option and looks great on the stroller. My one huge complaint is that my 13 month old daughter can pop out the clear tray part very easily, sending her snack everywhere. Snapping it back in allows for pinched fingers very easily as well. It got so bad today, I just took it off and threw it in the stroller basket. For the price of this tray, I hoped it would be a lot more functional.

My baby has a high tolerance for most foods but this product literally made him throw up. There are too too many spices, especially garlic, in this product. I should have known better but I spooned a little into my baby's mouth and he swallowed some before he realized how horrible the flavor was for his young senses. He gagged and gagged then he threw it up. I'm returning the unused packets tomorrow. There was more garlic in this meal than on the garlic bread at your favorite Italian restaurant. What were they thinking?I purchased this product for my son as soon as i opened the package I was overwhelmed by how fragrant the baby food was. I still gave it a go and my son gagged before tasting...too strong for new baby senses. I did enjoy the fact that it was not found in plastic and was organic but next time take down the flavors a notch.Want Sprout Organic Baby Food Stage 3 Herbed Vegetables with Roasted Turkey -- 5.5 oz Discount?

The Moby wrap is a great way to hold your baby and still get things done. There's something comforting for both Mom (or Dad!) and baby about being so close. The Moby came in especially handy when we were out and about at places where the stroller wasn't an option. I found that even when I could bring the stroller it was easier to wrap my son up and carry him with me.It worked great until my son got to be about 18 pounds, then the stretchiness of the fabric meant he'd start to droop after a while and wasn't as comfortable to carry. At that point we moved to a soft structured ergonomic carrier. Until then, though, I couldn't live without it!

I absolutely recommend this wrap for any new mom! This is one of my favorite baby items. What I like:
Fussy baby will calm almost instantly when placed in wrap
Soft, washable fabric
Attractive designs
Fairly easy to use, takes a little bit of practice getting baby in and out especially when they can't hold their head up on their own.
Comfortable to wear
Fits all sizes of people and no pesky straps to adjust
Great for grocery shopping when you need your hands free
Great for very young babies because of the soft fabric
Versatile: can go from newborn to larger babies easily
Dislike:
Hot to wear in warmer weather
Slightly burdensome to put on when you're out since its such a large piece of fabric

I wanted to love this. I read all the attachment parenting advice on how this is more comfortable and safer for babies than other carriers, and bought it before my daughter was born thinking I'd be a master baby wearer and prefer this beautifully personalized responsible wrap to all other carriers. I was wrong. While we did find a carrier to be one of the best tools we had to calm down a colicky baby, the Moby Wrap was not The One. We tried the Moby Wrap, the BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Synergy Black, Mesh (which I wanted to find fault with but ended up loving), and a Peanut Shell Boho Chic Paisley Baby Sling, Blue/Brown, Large. The Bjorn is by far our favorite and the only one we still use at 6 months. Our daughter seems really comfortable in it and often falls asleep. Despite what baby wearing 'experts' say, I believe that if a baby is uncomfortable he or she will not hesitate to let you know. My baby screamed more when I tried to insert her into the Moby Wrap than the Bjorn.
The biggest advantage to the Moby Wrap is that you can use it before your baby hits 8 pounds (I think that's the minimum for the Bjorn, although we mistakenly thought it was 10 pounds so have lots of pre-Bjorn experience). Surprisingly, we found the sling (our only post-birth purchase) was the best option during the tiny baby phase. At first I was terrified of using a sling incorrectly and permanently damaging my child, but it was actually super easy.
The thing is, you'll most want to use a baby carrier when your baby is feeling fussy and wants to be close to you. However, that's exactly when you WON'T have time to tie and adjust a Moby Wrap. If you're thinking of buying the Moby wrap and haven't given birth yet, I strongly advise holding off until you've actually experienced the stress of hearing your baby scream for you to pick her up and not being able to help her; you won't know if you have what it takes to struggle under biological pressure to tie knots in an 8 foot long piece of fabric and stuff your newborn into it until you hear your own baby's cry. This is why I know lots of first time moms who bought Moby wraps, and have never actually seen any of them using one.
That all said, it's beautiful and cozy and the truly brave/dedicated will probably master it and love it for all the reasons I thought I would!
