Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Fun with Friends Musical Table
I like that it has a few different settings that include ABCs, music, an interactive real life sounds and Spanish with English translation. My only complaint about it is that it doesn't have a volume control like so many Fisher Price toys have!! However, I really haven't been too bothered by it, as the songs aren't very long and are actually rather cute. I find myself singing along with them frequently.
I love that the ABC setting includes numbers, too. Each individual number can be pressed on the telephone. My son also has the Leap Frog Learn and Groove Musical Table, but it doesn't have a lot of the different features this table has.
I would definitely recommend this toy, it's great. My 9 mo boy has been playing with this every chance he gets since he was 7 mo. I also know the LeapFrog Learn & Groove(tm) Musical Table because my niece has it. I like this one better because it has a lot more going on. Both kids seem to like this one better if given their choice.
I put the legs on it immediately as he was already starting to lean on furniture, but as other reviewers note they are easy to take off (unlike the leapfrog), which is great for packing. It has been great to see him get more and more steady on his feet. He can now crab walk all around it to choose which toy he wants to use. It looks like great exercise and that is my favorite thing about the toy. of course, he fell backwards a few times while practicing his standing, but that's just in the nature of the toy: do not use unsupervised. Probably best used on carpet.
Others have complained that the computer closes hard and kids can get there fingers trapped. I have to say that although it makes a loud noise, it does not close with any force. Closing the computer with his hand in it seems to be one of my son's favorite things to do and he does it often with no indication of pain or injury. He just slides his hand right out and is in no hurry to do so.
Actually, the biggest problem is that he likes it so much it is sometimes hard to get him off it. When he does get off it and we start to get into a good game of peek-a-boo, it actually pipes up with "hey, I wanna play" and he actually leaves me to go play with it again. I guess there is a timer in it that makes it say this after it is inactive for about 30 seconds. Now I turn it off immediately when he gets off it so it will shut up. I also hide it from view for a few hours a day so that he will play with me, his other toys, visiting grandparents, etc.
Another gripe: the Spanish mode says everything in English first. Since he presses the buttons one after the other, he sometimes doesn't even hear the Spanish word. I don't understand why they need to translate everything from English, since he doesn't even speak English yet. Also, the songs are still in English. So it hardly speaks any Spanish at all. If it is very important to you that your child learn Spanish, the Leap Frog does it better.
All in all, I'm very satisfied with it. I think that it is helping him with walking. I have gotten more than my money's worth and highly recommend it.

My children (even the 5 and 3 year old) love this table. The songs are catchy, but if they start to get too annoying, you just switch the mode to something less noisy, such as the imagination mode where each button just makes a funny sound. In response to the first review about there being no volume control, there actually is a switch under the table that changes the volume from loud to soft.Read Best Reviews of Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Fun with Friends Musical Table Here
My 10 month old received this as a gift, and she's very entertained by it. The different modes provide plenty of variety. However, like another reviewer experienced, the laptop toy is easy to catch baby's hands. My little one slammed the cover down on her hand and screamed. It's too soon to tell if this will be a recurring problem, but we're keeping a close eye on things. Another concern is that the table is so light that it slides around and tips over easily. We're going to have to buy a rubber mat or something similar to make this product safer to use. It's surprising to see so many safety issues, especially some obvious ones that would have been caught in product testing.Want Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Fun with Friends Musical Table Discount?
Really a fun toy, our daughter did not get it until she was around 8 months because the toys are more then just spinners and shakers (like the leap frog). We have tried the leap frog but it was to simple for our child and she has enough spinners and shakers in all her other toys like walkers, jumperoo, and exersaucers. Our daughter just loves the phone, keyboard, book, and her fav is the computer. She loves to just open the computer and close it. She never closed the computer on her fingure and honestly its not heavy, i cant possibly see how any child can hurt themselves on it. But again, i would say this toy is better for the older child (around 8 months) since the toys are more educational and take a little bit of higher intelligency then the leap frog.
The Pros:
*The computer is awasome and our daughter just loves to close and open it and press all the buttons
*she loves the phone (rattle) that disattaches from the toy and she loves to carry it around with her. (she loves it more then any toy we have but see "cons")
*she like flippin the book pages
*she also enjoys the keyboard.
*i like that it has "words options and musical options", thats fun to change it up. We are not quite to the "spanish" options but i am sure we will use it later since we hope our child speaks multiple languages.
* legs are easy to take off
* sturdy enough for her to pull herself up on.
* easy to clean
* batteries last a long time
Cons:
*our baby misplaces the phone (rattle) and we have to find it all the time (wish it was attached by a phone cord but maybe they dont do that because it could be dangerous.
*after playing with the computer our daughter learned that all computers open and close, which includes mommys and daddys real laptops. But i guess i didnt expect anything different.
Overall, great toy and we really love it.
OXO Tot Feeding Spoon Set
-my hand doesn't cramp,
-silicone coat is save for baby's mouth, softer than plastic (my son can safely play with it),
-dishwasher safe; no sings of wear at all after 5 months of everyday use so far,
-deep enough to scoop food and liquid, but not that deep to leave some food after every bite (like Munchkin colorful 6 pack). As a 39 1/2 year old 6 foot tall foster mother with large hands and a 9 month old...these spoons are perfect. I had been using the long Gerber ones with the incredibly thin handle and my hands would literally cramp mid meal. A touch of early arthritis doesn't help. I already know I'm getting up there but I really don't appreciate a spoon reminding me of it. Never would have spent this much on spoons but didn't hesitate when I saw them in a store. Used one for the first time today and I think a tear of joy rolled down my cheek.

Finally baby spoons that are not only soft on my baby's mouth but also help swipe all the last bits of food out of the bowl...like a built in spatula! They are especially good for getting the last bits of yogurt out of the small containers (a huge pet peeve of mine before I found these spoons). The spoon head is also a bit deeper than most other brands so it helps to keep the food inside the spoon and not on the floor. Overall great design and functionality two thumbs up.Read Best Reviews of OXO Tot Feeding Spoon Set Here
These are the first spoons that I purchased for my 6 month old son. Though the shape of the spoon is perfect for a little mouth, the silicone coating began to break off in small pieces and tear from my son biting down on the spoon once or twice during a feeding. It is very unfortunate that these spoons cannot withstand little teeth and I had to throw them away. I would recommend reading reviews of other spoons as I am doing now to try to find a soft spoon that will not break and tear so easily. I am very disappointed in OXO Tot and the quality of this spoon, particularly since I was willing to pay more for the two pack of spoons in order to get a superior quality which is not the case.

Even though I found $6.99 for 2 spoons to be on the steeper side, I do not regret buying these spoons. The spoon has a very good angle which makes it easier to feed. I also purchased plastic munchkins spoons for much cheaper (just so I can compare) that I don't really use since I bought the OXO spoons. The silicone tip is also great because while introducing solids to a 6 month old, she tends to bite the spoon (accidentally) and it doesn't hurt her gums. I really love this spoon and I don't think I will need any other kind! Highly recommended!!!
UPDATE: I bought these spoons in Green, Blue and Orange. The BLUE spoons have started changing colors a bit and it happened to my friend's as well. It's starting to turn a little green? Is this safe? I wonder if they'd let me return the blue ones even though they are used...I've used it less than 10 times before it changing colors.

Does not stick to surface, but it is ok for baby to play with and chew. Is tiny and cute. I will use it thought in the future to put finger food on.Read Best Reviews of oogaa Silicone Placemat Here
If you're considering buying this placemat, check the size first, that way you won't have to return it and come back here giving it 3 or 4 stars because you didn't check the size (sorry! had to say it!)Now, we use this mat only when we eat out. We place it on the table and use it as plate for our baby (now 18 months, she's been using it since 14 months). We'd put bits of meat, veggies, anything on it while eating out. When she's done I'll wipe it, roll it and clean it with water once we get home.
Don't expect to find a mat that stays in place for a child beyond 12 months. The ones with suction cups don't really do a good job since they're raised because of the cups and they're also bulky, with bass or high relief motivs engraved on them and basically not so practical. Suction cups won't work on tablecloth either. So this silicone placemat, with no suction cups, does a fair job. It won't skid, but if your child grabs it by a corner, of course it won't stay in place.
This mat also dries really really fast which is an advantage. To expensive for what you get. There are cheaper ones out there that work just as well if not better.
[Award winning] Kidsme Food Feeder (Large size)
After cheerfully handing my baby large chunks of food (yup, I'm THAT parent), loudly proclaiming my opposition to pureeing any sort of food, and having my horrified husband constantly finger-sweeping choke-sized chunks from the baby's mouth (them gums be pretty dang productive at choke-chunk-ifying food!), I finally relented (we won't discuss how reluctantly, something about "natural parenting" and "learning the choking reflex") and purchased on of these.
And then, say, five bazillion more.
1. cloth nets suck (these are silicone, see #2).
2. these are super easy to clean. I bought a cloth net thing to check that out (different product), and after picking brown banana bugers from it for far too long, I'd like to repeat: easy to clean.
3. Baby is officially less covered in a thick film of slobber-and-food mixture, so the baby is easy to clean
4. Because of this product, I do not spend time pulverizing, then spooning carefully pulverized food into said baby's mouth*
* totally cool if you're into that, no judgement, just sayin'.
5. Baby's favorite toy. New food + kidsme+ airplane= happy silence and less baby hate. And really, don't we need less baby hate in the world?
Conclusion:
Kidsme + food = less food pollution and less baby hate*
*not that anyone EVER hates babies.
win.
This was the first time I have ever seen these feeders where you put the whole piece of food into it. I think it's great because you don't have to worry about them choking on a piece of food. It cleans up rather easily too, not like the mesh feeders and it's also great for teething. I put a piece of banana in it and froze it. Very useful item. Highly recommend it especially to new parents who aren't quite sure how to do everything.

I was reluctant to buy a feeder for my twins, as the mesh feeders always smelled, were a pain to wash and clean well and were all around inconvenient. Then I saw this feeder and decided to try it. I don't regret it. My girls love the silicone and use it as teethers as well. I feed them frozen fruits when they're teething badly and they like the cold + chewing on silicone very much. It cleans amazingly easily and quickly too. It snaps shut very easily as well. It's an all around perfect product and I like everything about it. I bought the 10 month size even though my girls were only 7 months old and it worked very well for them. You definitely don't need to go with the smaller feeder once they are past, I'd say, 6-7 months. It's like a large pacifier nipple.Read Best Reviews of [Award winning] Kidsme Food Feeder (Large size) Here

I love this thing. But to be perfectly honest, I just got it today. But I'm so excited about it I had to write a review immediately. First of all, the product name says it's for 10 months and above but the package says 6 months and older. My baby is six months and it is perfect. Second, I just started feeding solids to my baby. He took the rice cereal in breastmilk pretty well, but when I tried to feed him apples, with a spoon, it didn't work so well. He wouldn't take it. I thought maybe he doesn't like apple. NOPE. Turns out he loves them. I put the pureed apples in this feeder and then froze it. He ate the whole thing, by himself, with NO MESS, over the course of about 15 minutes. He never put the thing down and was able to feed himself the entire thing. I couldn't recommend this item more highly!! Oh, and the silicone bag is very easy to clean. After 37 years we have a baby in the family again. Needless to say I began looking for items that are familiar from the past (whatever happened to TV booties, by the way??), and among those was a warming plate. I was delighted to discover this Green Sprouts plate, and my granddaughter is happy with food that stays warm to the end.I use distilled water to fill the reservoir to avoid mineral deposits, and find this dish easy to clean and drain.

I had not seen one of these warming dishes in years so I had to get it. It is so convenient for warming up baby food that has been refrigerated. I don't put baby food in the microwave since the portions are so tiny and burn so easily. Just put hot water from the tap in the bottom of the plate then put baby food in the sections on top and in a couple of minutes baby food is warm and ready to eat. The cap seals tight. I have never had any leaks of hot water. I love this plate and may get another one!Want Green Sprouts Warming Plate Discount?
HiI am a grandmother and I watch two of my grandchildren daily.
I had a warming dish for my 13 year old grand-daughter and also for my own five children. So when I started watching my newest grandchild I wanted this dish for her food.
I looked everywhere. None of the local stores had what I wanted. Most had no idea what I was looking for. Finally... I went to my AMAZON and of course there it was.
Thank you for selling products that I and many others have used for more than 50 years. I will always check Amazon first from now on.
Thanks again

The First Years Quick Serve Bottle Warmer
Yes, this warmer is convenient, as it can heat bottles in under the five minutes it advertises, especially if you are using disposable bags or drop-in liners. However, it can get these bags extremely hot, so you need to stand by the warmer and test the bottle periodically. Regular plastic bottles tend to take longer and don't heat up as well. The performance of the warmer is not consistent. It works well sometimes, but usually only if you pay close attention to it, testing the bottle as it warms. Goldilocks would lose her patience with this one, as it is hardly ever "just right".
Here's how it works: You fill the included blue vial to the first line for smaller bottles (4 oz.), the top line for bigger bottles (8 oz.). You dump the water (which is a tiny amount) directly into the chamber where the bottle will sit. Place the bottle in and press the button on the front. In about 30 seconds steam begins to form and in about two minutes (when the nearly all the water has been turned to steam) the unit automatically shuts off. This does not mean, however, that the bottle is done. It may need to sit there longer if you have more liquid or a larger bottle. And, with drop-ins, it may need to be removed from the warmer sooner.
Some problems with the warmer include:
The blue filling vial. It is difficult to see the fill lines on it, especially at night. A clear fill cup with printed lines would be visually better. Moreover, the amount they suggest for smaller vs. bigger bottles doesn't necessarily fit your own bottles. You need to test it out and see what amount of water works best for you. And there's such a small amount of water that you're using that it is difficult to use the same exact amount each time.
Smaller bottles. Steam quickly rises around smaller/thinner bottles, making them too hot to pick up and swirl to mix or to test the heat of the bottle.
Wait 10 minutes to try again. The instructions state that the unit needs 10 minutes to cool down if you need to use it again. Well, I have gotten it to work again more quickly than that (sometimes immediately), although, I don't know if this is damaging the product in the long run. This is why it's better to put MORE water than you need into the unit and test the bottle as it warms. This way you're not stuck waiting for the unit to work again to heat up a cool bottle.
These caveats aside, this is a nice accessory for your nursery, especially for late-night feedings. No drowsy trips to the kitchen. Keep a cooler next to it with your bottle and you never need to stumble to a downstairs kitchen.
The bottom line: if you realize that heating bottles is not an exact science and that every bottle needs to be tested and adjusted, then you will do well with this warmer. If you think there is a magic alarm that will go off when the bottle hits the exact perfect temperature, well, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn for ya...I love this product so much that I bought another one for my mom's house. I use it to heat up my 4oz medela and healthflow bottles and tried the Avents bottles. Yes the milk does get hot if you leave it til the warmer shuts off. But I usually check the bottle 1/2 way through the time (est. 3-4min), shake the bottle and the milk is PERFECT!!!!! Therefore it takes a total of 3-4 minutes for you to have a warm bottle, much quicker than putting it in boiling water. 2 other good things about this warmer are: 1)it has the auto shut-off capability unlike other warmers, where you have to unplug the unit and 2)it is small and doesn't take up too much space on your countertop.
Buy The First Years Quick Serve Bottle Warmer Now
It's a convenient product for those finicky babies who likes their food warm. On the plus side, it's smaller than most warmers so it doesn't take up much space. It has a measured water cup on the side to indicate how much water is necessary for steaming. It fits all bottles including the Avent (4 and 9oz.) with a detachable ring on top for even heating. A convenient lighted button turns off when all the water has evaporated from the steamer indicating the bottle is ready. The only problem I have with it is it initially requires a few attempts,by adding or removing water, to get the temperature just right for the amount of formula used as it tends to overheat or underheat.

I wasn't originally planning on using a bottle warmer...didn't think it was needed. I was wrong! We were heating up tap water in a cup and placing the bottle in the cup to warm up...that took WAY TOO LONG! I purchased this warmer because of it's size and the other online reviews I had read. All you do is plug it in, fill the measuring cup to the desired level(you might have to do some trial and error here to get the right water amount) pour the water in and press the start button. The great thing is it will automatically shut off when the heating process is finished. I use Gerber bottles and it works well! It works with ANY bottles though. It's soooo easy to use! This is a great warmer. I use the Playtex Disposable Bottles and it works wonders. There are not that many warmers that you can use for Disposable Bottles and this is so perfect. You can use any kind of bottle or baby food jar. The only difficult thing at first is that you have to try and find out the perfect amount of water to add for the amount that you are heating. I guess it's just one setback for being so versatile and accomodating any type of bottle. We love it. It's so small that you can leave it on the countertop and can even take it on outings, it has a convenient measuring cup, it automatically shuts off when it is done, and it is so quick in heating. This is a great product. Don't wait to buy it like I did.Happy Bellies Organic Baby Cereals with DHA + Pre & Probiotics, 7 Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6)
"...this is not a food safety issue, so there's no need to worry. It is, however, an "off product" quality issue, and is caused by oxidation of the oils in the grain (oxidative rancidity), usually by the nitrogen flush we put into the can leaking out due to abuse, improper seaming, etc. The reaction (with oxygen) is a lot like leaving a peeled banana on the table too long...yucky, but not dangerous, so your child is not in any danger. The black flecks are oxidized pieces of the cereal bran, which are usually colourless.
Our June production lot was particularly susceptible to this, so we did two things. First, we strengthened the antioxidant portion of the formula (mixed tocopherols), and the problem literally went away. Secondly, we reached out to our warehouses and store shelves, and replaced as much of the June production lot as we could. However, given the size and complexity of the supply chain, it's nearly impossible to get a 100% catch here, so invariably, some cases stayed around. "
This response really impressed me and made me feel much more confident about purchasing HappyBaby products in the future. They acted quickly, and responded thoroughly and honestly to the issue. They truly seem committed to their mission of supplying customers with the highest quality ingredients...and customer service! I will for sure be buying more HappyBaby products in the future. This was the first solid food I fed my then 4-month old baby and from the first time, he loved it. I initially mixed it with breast milk (1 tsp cereal and 4 tsp of breast milk for the first feeding, then less liquid to make it less messy to feed) but now, I mix it with some hot water or other food (vegetable or fruit purees). Whenever I introduce a new vegetable that I suspect my son might not like right away, I mix 1 tbsp or more of rice cereal and it usually works like a charm. Zucchini puree by itself = spit up. Zucchini puree mixed in with HappyBellies rice cereal = happy baby.
Granted that I haven't tried other brands, except for the Gerber Barley cereal, the line of HappyBellies cereals has been fantastic for us. My son loves it and he's never had any stomach problems since he's on it.
The empty containers can be recycled, or used as toys for your baby. I usually but a few (unbreakable) items inside. My son loves shaking it and playing drums on it.
I also love the convenience of Amazon shopping, especially since this brand can be sometime hard to find in stores.Parents, before buying this stuff, do quick Google search for The Cornucopia Institute's report entitled "Replacing Mother Imitating Human Breast Milk in the Laboratory" or follow this link:
This Happy Bellies rice cereal contains Martek Corporation's laboratory-produced oils containing DHA and ARA. As we all know by now, DHA and ARA are considered important nutrients for rapidly developing infants. But laboratory-produced DHASCO and ARASCO (Martek's names for their proprietary oils) are materially different from the fats found in a mother's breast milk. Martek's products are extracted from fermented algae and fungus, with the use of the synthetic solvent hexane, a neurotoxic chemical. They contain only 40 to 50% DHA and ARA, with the balance being sunflower oil, diglycerides, and nonsaponifiable materials.
These components are not found in human breast milk, and the triglycerides carrying DHA and ARA are not identical to
those found in human breast milk, and have never been part of the diet for human infants. Most frighteningly, neurotoxic chemicals -which are NOT organic in any way -are used to manufacture these oils. These oils are not organic, are not regulated or approved by the USDA or FDA, and are added in violation of federal organic regulation.
The authors of the report investigated how a toxic chemical is used as processing agents in the manufacturing process, the inadequate testing for safety, and most importantly, how some infants are experiencing serious adverse reactions from consuming formula and foods supplemented with these oils.
"This report presents a disturbing look at the addition of novel ingredients into infant formula," says Marsha Walker, Executive Director of the National Alliance for Breastfeeding Advocacy. "The FDA has received scores of reports on the adverse effects of these ingredients, but, to date, the public's only access to these is through Cornucopia's Freedom of Information Act request. This report will help alert the health care community and federal agencies to some of the adverse effects of added DHA and ARA in infant formulas."
The full report can be viewed on The Cornucopia Institute's web page. I love that these products are gluten free. My first child got a terrible rash on her face from her "first cereals" and it was hard to find out what was causing it. The baby cereals that are out there "may contain traces of wheat" while they are supposed to be the best first food. Not true fir those with gluten and wheat sensitivities and/or allergies. Way to go Happy Baby. This is the first cereal my 6 month old has been given and he really LOVES it. I drove my self crazy doing all kinds of research for a safe, BPA free cereal, then drove myself crazy looking at all the research on DHA, and so on. Finally I decided to go ahead and give this a try. Unfortunately there is no perfect baby cereal on the market at this time, but this product is pretty close. And my baby seems to really enjoy it. I will say my local target is currently selling it for only $3.19 a can, which is a little cheaper than amazons current price.
