Suzie's Gluten Free Baby Biscuits, 7 Ounce

Suzie's Gluten Free Baby Biscuits, 7 OunceI buy these at Whole Foods, but Amazon does have them for slightly cheaper.

I tasted one before giving it to my little one and I was pleasantly surprised at the taste! I now eat them as a treat for myself (I am also gluten-free). They taste like soft short-bread or even lady-fingers. They are delicious and my little one loves them too!

They are non-GMO too and are sweetened with fruit juice instead of corn syrup or other things like that.

I recommend these!!

Gave one to my 18 month old who got a rash and hives all over his face. He has a history of allergies so he's on a gluten free diet one of the Ingredients must have caused a reaction with him.

Dr. Bronner'S Organic Bar Soaps Pure Castile

Dr Bronners Bar Soap Organic Almond 5 ozI am a soldier serving in Iraq, where as you may know, it gets pretty hot here. After a full day out in the desert sun in all of my gear, I find myself dreaming of the moment when I can get in the shower and cool off with Dr. Bronner's soap. It works great. Lathers great, and leaves me feeling cleaner than chemical soaps, not to mention the fact that it feels very cool and tingly. Although I am military, which may go against what Dr. Bronner's philosophy suggests, I am a country boy who loves the outdoors, and the conservation and protection of our environment. I will always choose products made in America so as to support the businesses of my fellow Americans, and will always choose organic items over those items which use ingredients that I can't pronounce, or in which animals are senselessly wasted.

I suggest you use this product for all the right reasons.

It comes in funky orange packaging, has a strong medicinal smell, but man ..it's the best soap I've ever used!

Previous to switching to Dr. Bronner's, I was using some run of the mill Sam's Club body wash. I had problems with back acnie, oil buildup (especially around the nose) and fungus (itching).

I remember washing with it for the first time, not knowing what to expect (if anything). After rising off, I actually felt clean! Those oily areas were no longer oily. Drying off, my skin felt tighter and smoother. As time went on, I noticed that a certain area was a lot less itchy and irritated. My backnie problem went from multiple large sores to one small one at the moment. Same with the face zits are a lot less common and generally smaller. I also had a problem with facial hair becoming partially ingrown, resulting in either zits or inflammation. It was so bad that they would catch my electric razor and start bleeding every time I shaved. Today, I can usually shave without bleeding! I used to have bad chlorine itch after swimming. After washing off with this, I had no problems with chlorine itch.

There are things it's not good for, though. First, it'll strip every bit of oil and crud right out of your hair. Mine becomes a straw-textured, fluffy mess if I just use Bronner's. About once a week, I'll wash my hair with it, then use my normal shampoo/conditioner this prevents product buildup. My hair feels softer and more manageable after doing this.

I would also advise against using it as a hand soap. After multiple uses per day, my hands started peeling because they got so dried out. Oh... and keep it away from the eyes. It really stings.

I ran out of this stuff over Christmas break and couldn't find it locally, so I switched back to the body wash. Sure enough, the backnie returned, along with the fungus and everything else.

What makes it so special anyway?

First, the formulation used is simply effective no filler, no scents, just good soap. Second and most important is the Tea Tree Oil, which is a really good natural antiseptic. This explains its effectiveness with acne, fungus and the like. Secondly, it's very anti-inflammatory, hence the "skin tightening" effect.

I love the scent of almond, and this soap has a wonderful, lightly sweet almond scent. The ingredients are all natural, no man-made chemicals, no animal testing, and organic too! I love the way my skin feels after wahing with this soap, squeaky-clean. I also love that it will not leave a nasty soap scum on my shower, bathtub or sink. I am usually VERY particular about the shampoo I use, but I tried this soap out on my hair too, just for the heck of it. My naturally curly hair needs some form of conditioner or it gets frizzy so I follwed up with my usual leave-in anti-friz product and my hair looked great. It didn't leave my hair feeling dry, or heavy, but instead it felt light and bouncy, and my curls seemed to have a better definition. So, now I soap up from head to toe with Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap, and I feel good about my choice.

This review is about the Rose scent

The soap itself is great, but to me the rose scent does not smell like roses. It might as well be called Flowers. I was hoping it would smell like rose water, but it is not distinctive. Wish I had know that before I ordered.

Playtex Diaper Genie Twist-Away Refill

Playtex Diaper Genie Twist-Away RefillI was shocked when I received only 1 refill. They are usually around $30 for 3. Don't be fooled by this one. It's only one.

This is the refill for the Original (i.e. 1st version) Diaper Genie. One way to make it last longer is to not twist the bag to "closed" position unless you just put a diaper with smelly poop into the pail.

Arrived promptly from Amazon. At almost 7 bucks, Amazon's price is probably 25% higher than the typical WM/Target pricing. Will be nice if Amazon makes this eligible for Subscribe and Save, given how people use diaper pails for a good number of months.

This itemPlaytex Diaper Genie Twist away refill is a good invention.

My problem is that i got it used from a friend (the main unit).from online reviews it seems like is better than the new one--that i have not tried.SO i went on line to look for these refills.Somehow i was reading old reviews and went on to purchase these. it turned out i paid $22 per refill and the refill lasts about 2 weeks. The old ads were citing prices around $6.0 per refill so when i saw $20 i figured its for all 3 of them.

Im just going to buy the new unit and get me refills for about $7 a pack.

My advice to all you that are reading this is:

Go buy the new unit that is being sold in stores and the new refills that come with them.don't be sentimental.

this is how they make money--by discontinuing old items and coming up with new!

the $66 i paid for the refill is plenty to get the new unit and a 3 refills.

that is what i have to do now, so the whole exercise i explained above was useless.

i do not work for the playtex corporation if some of you are wondering.

Its sad that they discontinued this product. I used this with my elder child. It had a nice baby dry smell and the diapers never stinked. I will miss the diaper genie.

Personal Fit Breast Shields

Medela Personal Fit Large Breastshields 27 mmI wanted to share my experience to help others decide if they should try a smaller breast shield. I have very prominent nipples/areolae (i.e. my areola is not flat on the breast but protrudes along with the nipple). Despite reading all the websites out there on proper fit, I had a hard time trying to figure out which part of my nipple/areolae was supposed to be in the tunnel. I experienced a lot of pain and bruising with the standard 24mm shields. Two different lactation consultants told me to go up to 30mm. The 30mm incorporated my entire nipple/areola and was even getting some regular breast tissue while pumping. Although the 30mm didn't hurt as much, it definitely was not comfortable--the discomfort was to the point where I worried that I was damaging my areola tissue because it was swelling so much afterwards. I also wasn't getting as much milk as I did with the 24mm. After looking at a lot of pictures of normal breast anatomy, I figured out that my nipple was not the whole protruding pigmented part of my breast, but just the tip (before it widens out into areola). I decided to go ahead and order these and I am so glad I did. Pumping doesn't hurt at all anymore--it is much more comfortable, almost to the point where I don't really notice it (compared to the other sizes, where I felt every single suction). My nipple fits into the tunnel without touching the sides and only a little bit of the areola goes in while pumping. If you are still not sure whether to get these, just remember that you know your body best and lactation consultants can sometimes be wrong.

Don't be fooledI don't know why Medela sends out the 24mm size shield with their pumps. As I have talked to many women and numerous lactation consultants, it turns out that 24mm is actually "small" and that most women will need the 27mm. I don't have large nipples by any means, but pumping with the 24mm shields left me bleeding within days because I had no idea it was the shields that caused the problem. I noticed the difference immediately after using this larger sizepumping is much more comfortable, it's faster, and I get a better yield. If you have any discomfort with your pump, try changing the shield sizeyou might be amazed! A lactation consultant told me to try them and at first I was hesitant"large" for nipple shields? Think of the 27mm as standard or medium and realize that there are so many 24mm on store shelves because NO ONE BUYS THEM.

Pumping can be mysterious when you first start. Medela pumps come with the standard 24mm flanges, but that size doesn't fit all. Oddly, there's no specific way to tell if that flange is too big (too small is easy to tell). You can pump in front of a lactation consultant for input on size. If there is a lot of space on the sides of the nipple when you begin pumping, if pumping pulls a good portion of the aerola into the flange, and if pumping hurts, then you probably need the smaller size. This 21 mm flange made pumping possible for me.

These breastshields are a great investment for women with larger breasts or nipples. I tried the 24mm breastshields that came with my Medela Freestyle pump and they did not fit at all. So I went to Target to get larger ones and they had the 27mm size, so I got those. Those were better, but still a little too small, so I searched online for these 30mm ones. Once I received these and used them I was elated because it made the pumping much more comfortable and the milk came out much quicker. I would highly recommend these! By the way, I am a D cup while nursing, if that helps anyone get an idea of who these might work for.

When I was using the standard size breastshields that came with the breast pump, my breasts were getting sore. I thought that was just how it was supposed to be. Then a nurse told me to try a larger size and I got these. Now my breasts no longer hurt at all when pumping and my nipples don't get stuck inside. The only thing that is strange to me is that the shape of the cone part seems different that the standard, so it feels a bit large, even though the nipple part fits fine.

Sprout Organic Baby Food Roasted Bananas and Brown Rice Intermediate 2 -- 3.5 oz

Sprout Organic Baby Food Roasted Bananas and Brown Rice Intermediate 2 -- 3.5 ozMy general rule is that if I wouldn't eat it, neither should my baby. That means that we don't have a lot of store-bought baby foods around the house, and it definitely nixes those boxed rice cereals. But this stuff is delicious. My son can't get enough of the bananas and rice, and I've been known to lick the spoon when he's done.

I also really like that Sprout is all organic, with fairly simple ingredients: organic bananas, rice and cinnamon, water, citric acid, and ascorbic acid. I will say that I was expecting it to look more like the cup of rice in the picture, but instead it is a pure baby food puree. A yummy puree though, as purees go.
