We didn't have a need to introduce a bottle until after 3 months old. By then it was too late. Tried countless bottles/nipples/sippy/straw/spouts, nothing worked. Surprisingly hard to find a regular light-weight cup with handles. The Doidy cup is awesome! The tilt of the cup makes it simple for baby to drink from, while developing hand-coordination to bring cup to mouth. Includes excellent instructions & tips for success. We bought this cup for my 5 yr old daughter with Down Syndrome who still struggles with drinking form an open cup because of tongue protrusion. She has been opposed to drinking from open cups but she liked this cup. She is able to see as she is drinking and drink slow without spilling. The shape and handles of the cup make it easy for her to use. This cup is really great, really sturdy, neat colors. I like the idea of learning to drink from this. Baby is working on cups and food still, but I'm sure we'll get a lot of use out of this cup.My one year old is using it quite well. She's been exclusively breastfed and I didn't want to start the bottle or sippy cup problem so we went straight to this. I wish they had made the handles easier for her to hold, or had not made them at all. But other than that, she drinks from it easily and we all love it.The clever and unique angle on this cup makes it much easier for my 9-month old to drink from. He can't hold it by himself yet, but the fact that we don't have to tip it far means far less splashing on his face. I recommend it for anyone whose baby doesn't drink from a sippy cup, or who is learning to drink from a cup.
