Wean Green Glass Baby Food Containers (Set of 4)

When I received the Wean Green Baby Food Containers they were nicely sealed in their packaging. None of them were broken and upon opening the box I even admired their sensible and simple packaging. The containers feel strong and durable and were free of any cracks or blemishes. Sizes are perfect and similar to the size of gerber baby food bottles. The colors for the lids were great and are bright unlike lids for other containers I have bought. Lastly, the measurement markings on the side are a great plus!

Here lies thier problem (this may just be with my set). The lids are not trustworthy. My lid tabs are already showing signs of wear and one is even cracked and I just opened the box yesterday. Just for purposes of this review, I put water in the containers and sealed them and bounced them around. Unfortunately water leaked out, not in a stream, but it did drip out. This would make me even more cautious about using these baby food containers on-the-go.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. I loved the look of these cubes and was so excited to look like a cool, green mama with my homemade food in colorful containers. Problem is the lids are worthless. The tabs break off with changes in temperature, with babies dropping them on the floor (from sitting on the floor not very high!). The lids don't stay closed. So why bother with lids? They are not airtight so no good for storing food, toting around in your diaper bag, keeping baby from spilling. Sure, they're cute but not functional. Total waste of a lot of money for a glass container with broken lids.

Update: I wrote the company and received a prompt and apologetic response. The rep said that the company intends to change the packaging and is working on a new product that should solve the breakage problems. I received replacement lids and a promise to try the new product when it is available. I'm excited to be back in business with a complete set and looking forward to an improved product that may solve the leakage issue. Bumping from one to four stars for great customer service.

I am writing this review to ensure that what happened to my baby and I does not EVER happen to anyone else.

Yesterday I took one of these containers out of my cupboard, filled it with applesauce from my pantry and microwaved it for 5 SECONDS. It was barely warm because my baby is only 5 months old. As soon as he took his last bite, I placed the container down on his feeding tray and THE CONTAINER SHATTERED/EXPLODED WITH AN EAR PIERCING POP. The glass was all over my baby's feeding chair, his hands and legs, and the floor. He even cut his fingers. Thank god it didn't get in his eyes.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL. THE DESCRIPTION SAYS THAT THE PRODUCT IS MICROWAVE SAFE, I ONLY MICROWAVED IT FOR 5 SECONDS AND THE CONTAINER EXPLODED 10 MINUTES LATER.

I plan on calling the company and sending them pictures of the debris.

I was so excited to find a glass container for my home made baby food. The fact that it's glass makes reheating in the mircowave super easy. and the fact that it was also pretty stylish was a bonus. However, after having these containers for a mere 4 months I'm very dissapointed because the plastic lids no longer stay in place. The tabs of the lids have losened so they no longer stay tight, allowing for the contents to spill out. I have always hand washed these so I know it wasn't warped by a dish washer. Also, never have microwaved with the lid on. Overall I'm very dissapointed considering these little containers weren't cheap!

We aren't using them for baby purees, but instead to store superfood powders in the freezer. They are great! Haven't had any leakage issues. We also use them to save the last little bit of sauces or salsa. They are high quality and fun to look at!
