At first I was pleased with this product; a nice long handle; soft, rubbery feeding end that my daughter can chew on without hurting herself. However, 3 weeks in, while she was feeding, I noticed a black mark on the inside of the handle piece. Because the spoon is made of two parts (the soft, rubbery clear part and the hard colored shaft), food was able to get in under the rubber and mold started to grow. I took it away from her in the hope that I could do a thorough clean with a nipple brush or some sort but you just can't get in there to clean. I didn't buy from amazon so I'm about to contact TT customer service directly.

I have to agree with what has been said, i've just noticed the food being stuck between the plastic and silicone, and i've tried everything, brushing, pulling the plastic, reaching with a toothpick, i cannot get rid of the food there. It's very obviously a healt hasard, considering these spoon are destined to babies.

Tommee Tippee best find a way to make these spoons cleanable (say for example, make it possible to open the spoon and separate the pieces) or get rid of this product ASAP.

As far as i'm concerned i am going to write a complait to them.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

It's a shame becase it really was a good spoon.

I got these spoons and my son loved them! Unfortunately what some of the other reviewers said about the mold issue is highly possible. I've been using them for a month and noticed that food gets trapped in the opening between the spoon and colored plastic. I pulled the spoon and noticed food was stuck in there and turning grey! These are not made well and whatever glue they use is not good enough to fill in that gap. If you let it go long enough mold is sure to grow unless you pull the spoon and expose that section to clean it every time which shouldn't happen. I recommend going with a product that is a single piece instead.

We've been using these spoons for a little over two months. Our five month old loves them. From the packaging alone you really can't tell how soft the spoon head are. They feel the same 'squishiness' as the Avent nipples we use, so it's truly been an easy transition for the little one. After feeling how soft the silicone is I didn't think they would hold very long, but I was very wrong. They're durable and easy to wash. Ours are cleaned, steamed and air-dried on rack without any result of mold... ever. I plan to buy another pack of these as a gift and I highly recommend these. The only irritation I have is that when we introduced carrots, the carrots stained the spoons. Looks nice on the orange one though!
