Wood Expansion Gate, 24"-60" W, 32" H

The wood on this gate is much thicker than other designs I have seen. This makes it a great option if you're dealing with dogs or toddlers. (We have both). The non-pinch top is good, easy to install unit, works. Height is perfect, width more than adequate, and it's just flexible enough to install in odd places. I recommend it. I doubt however it is something that could withstand more than a couple of years of being beaten by dogs and kids. Packaging was horrible, but item arrived in one piece with all its parts.

The gate is functional and just what I expected for the price. It is nice to have the protective bar on the top to prevent pinching your fingers (which happened to me many times in the past). I wish I came with some sort of attached wood mounting strip or bar on one side. It would be easier to keep it stationary on a threshold.

This gate is really easy to install, lightweight but sturdy, and it's tall enough to keep even my large dog (Golden Retriever) from jumping over. The plastic bar along the top is a great addition to the standard accordion gate because it keeps the dogs from getting hurt if they put their feet up on the top of the gate and it gives the gate more tensile strength so that the dogs can't easily crash through it or knock it down. This updated version of the expansion gate has made an old idea much more useful.

This item does it job for you unless you have a chewing dog. My dog chewed right through the wood.. I tried everything to prevent him from chewing by putting hot salsa to a special no chew chemical I purchased at Petsmart. Nothing worked. My dog loves wood. LOL... looking to get another one but metal. Hopefully I can find one out there.
