I was looking for a sippy cup that had a silicone nipple, like that of a bottle, but shaped like a sippy nipple so I could start weaning my 11-month-old off his bottle. These fit the bill perfectly. I bought both stage 4 and stage 5 thinking that the nipples were slightly different, but they are the same... the only difference is the size, stage 4 holds 7 ounces and stage 5 holds 9 ounces.You cannot put the stage 4 tops on the stage 5, the openings are a slightly different size.
One reviewer commented that when you screw the top on, the nipple shifts and this is true as well as annoying. I simply hold the nipple between my fingers in the position I want it to stay in as I screw on the top, that has solved it for me.
The handles do not detach. Gosh, I really wish they did cause that would make them fit more easily into the bottle holding spots on my diaper bag.
And lastly, my son has eight very sharp teeth and he loves to bite things (me included) and he has not bitten off the top of the nipple. I tried to after reading one review and I have no idea how these kids managed to do so. I am not worried about it.
I just want to raise two points to make it even better:
1. I hope they do something with the handle and the spout because you have to turn the bottle until the spout and the handle aligns. It's just time-wasting.
2. My husband and I are having a hard time looking for a spout replacement so we bought another set of sippy cups. I hope they have more merchandise on spouts, handles. etc so we don't have to buy the whole cup.My husband would say my hobbies include buying different bottles, diaper bags, etc for our kids ;) I've tried them all basically but still like to try a new every now and then since our littlest will basically drink from anything. This one is easy for my 10 month old to hold but I really don't like how the nipple turns when I screw on the lid. It's a pain to fix and there are just better options out there. Happy sippy hunting!I just bought these cups to replace some broken playtex cups we had at home. I was looking for a cup with handles because my daughter loves the handles on the playtex cups, but she keeps biting through the spouts. She's 19 months old, so I thought I'd try these cups. She can't suck anything out of them! I tried loosening the top and filling it up less and even I can barely suck anything out of them! Also the nipple is a pain to line up with the handles. I have many different sippy cups at home, as my oldest child is 6 and I've never seen one that was so hard to suck water out!!I love these cups and wish they were still making them. The spout is the perfect transition for bf babies. Very soft and the shape is natural. Love it!
