Squooshi 4 Count Reusable Food Pouch

Squooshi 4 Count Reusable Food Pouch, Large Panda/Walrus, 4.5 OunceI was so relieved when I found this product because my nine month old had started refusing to eat from a spoon, he only wanted to feed himself. He would take only the disposable pouches and finger foods. I have always made his food for him and I have a freezer full of homemade pureed food that I couldn't use, until I did some research and found this product. Cannot tell you how thankful I am. I can now use all of my healthy pureed foods and know my baby is getting the nutrition he needs but I am also cutting on costs, yay!!! I chose this brand because they are exactly like the disposable ones (the caps from the disposable ones even fit these so I saved a few in case we lose any) with the spout on top so I knew it would be easier to trick him. It worked!!! Happy, healthy baby and happy mommy! :)

I recently purchased the Infantino fresh squeezed squeeze station for filling your own baby food pouches. I like using it, but I hated to have to buy new pouches all the time.

I felt like these seemed pretty expensive, but with store bought food pouches running from $1-2 a piece, these will pay for themselves after just a couple of uses. I just received the Squooshi pouches after another mom recommended them to me. They seem good, they are light and flexible and pretty cute! The best part is, they attach to the infantino squeeze station so I can fill them using it, which I think it easier than spooning something in through the zippered bottom. I do wish they had a gusseted bottom the way other pouches do so they could stand up, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. When I have used them for a while I will update as to whether they hold up well over time.

I have to start about by saying that overall these accomplish what I wanted them to (which was to be able to put homemade baby food into a reusable food pouch). The design is cuter than the others I had seen before.

The things I don't like about these are that while they say "dishwasher safe" the instructions that come with them clearly state to hand wash them (which is fine, but I wanted to be able to throw them in the dishwasher and go but I'm worried because I'm not sure they would hold up). Secondly, when I hand wash them it's hard to get little pieces of food out especially if you have things in them like strawberry seeds, blueberry skins etc. Lastly, trying to figure out a way to get them to say open so that they will dry out on the inside has proven to be a challenge.

Ultimately, I would probably buy these again because my toddlers love eating smoothies out of them and it does help with the mess but I wish they were a bit easier to clean.

I'm trying these and the Go Fresh Pouches for holding Kefir yogurt smoothies. My kiddos are 2 & 5 and love their smoothies. I wanted to be able to pack a smoothie for them when we headed out & about. So far I'm a happy Mamma as these babies were straight forward to fill and the lid & plastic zipper did their jobs and kept everything locked in tight. I did pop them into a secondary bag, just in case, rather then just chucking them in my diaper bag (as I would with say an Ellas Kitchen) but I can report there were no leaks. The smoothie I put in is quite runny, way runnier than Apple Sauce which is the recommend consistency. Both the kids thought the animals were great (so does Mom) and they had no trouble sucking the contents. I rinsed them out as soon as we got home and then hand washed them in the sink and had no issues with residual food. Instead of air drying them I give them a shake to get rid of any water & put them in my fridge in a zip lock bag. The fridge stops and bacteria growing. I just whip them out of the fridge when it's time to fill them up. Really glad I found these!

These are easy to use and easy to clean, but my toddler chews the tips every time. I have used them about 4 times so far, and I'm not sure how many more uses I will get out of them, so at $20 for a pack of 4, I don't think I'll buy them again. My toddler also has a hard time getting everything out of the bottom of the pouch, so I feel like we end up wasting more food than in the store-bought pouches.

UPDATE: I have now used these 6 or 7 times (so I've at least gotten my money's worth out of them!), and they are still holding up just fine, even with the chewing. I am able to bend the tips back to their original shape enough to put the lids on. Still haven't figured out the issue with wasting food at the bottom of the pouch, but for now, I will continue to use these pouches.
