I purchased this mattress for my son three months ago when he transitioned from a bassinet to a crib, and he is seven and a half months old now. My significant other had a daughter in his previous marriage who died of SIDS when she was 7 months old, and you can bet that I read all the research and looked at lots (and I mean LOTS) of crib mattresses before making the decision to buy this one.
The first thing I noticed about this mattress when I opened it....no chemical-y smell. You can tell that the mattress is extremely well-made and will last for a long, long time. I wanted the dual firmness mattress so that my son can use it as a toddler bed when he is older. The firm side is labeled, so you know which side is which.
In the three months we've had this mattress, my son has not had any problems with getting a peaceful and good night's sleep on it. I would highly recommend this mattress to new moms and/or anyone who is concerned about SIDS or the chemicals in non-organic mattresses.
I wanted a natural mattress that wouldn't offgass harmful toxins and was happy to find this one at such a great value. I had come across 100% latex and other natural crib mattress options that were natural like I wanted, but 3-5 times the cost of this one. It has a firm infant side and a softer toddler side to grow with your child. The mattress is waterproof and very easy to wipe down when needed. The only downside is that my child sweats if the crib sheet is too thin and it is hot out, so if you live in a warm area or don't have a/c this might be an issue. Overall, this is a great product and will last for years to come.

After doing a lot of research for an organic mattress, we settled on this mattress. We were glad we did. When you think about how long a child is sleeping on a mattess, why wouldn't you want them to be on the safest product available. It is a pricer product, but for our peace of mind and for our son's health, we didn't even hesitate at the cost. This mattress had absolutely no chemical smell. We felt extremely comfortable having our newborn son sleeping on this mattress right away. He has been sleeping on it for about five months now and he seems very comfortable on it. It is waterproof, so on the few occasions that his diaper has leaked, we never had to worry about the mattress. There is also no sound from the mattress, which I know some people complain about with waterproof mattresses. Since it is waterproof we just have a sheet overtop the mattress and this seems very adequate. Since the mattress has a firm and softer side, it's great to know that we will be using it for many years to come.

We've been taking a baby massage class that has been really informative and helpful. In the class the instructor presented a handful of different oils and recommend they all be some sort of natural organic baby oil. She said even worst case you could use some cooking oils.
